Tabatha & Stacey: Friendship Coaches
The Flaws of Friendship podcast is an absolute gem that I stumbled upon while searching for advice on navigating a challenging friendship. From the very first episode, I was hooked and have been a loyal listener ever since. Stacey and Tabatha, the hosts of the show, create an incredible dynamic that is both relatable and entertaining. They have this incredible ability to make me laugh, cry, and praise God all in one episode. It's become my guilty pleasure that I look forward to every day or week.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is the genuine and raw authenticity that Stacey and Tabatha bring to each episode. They aren't afraid to bare their souls and share their personal experiences with friendships, both good and bad. This vulnerability creates a safe space for listeners to feel seen and understood, knowing that they are not alone in their struggles with friendships. The hosts also tackle big topics with grace and wisdom, offering valuable insights and practical advice.
Another great aspect of The Flaws of Friendship podcast is its Christ-centered approach. Stacey and Tabatha constantly point listeners back to God as they navigate the intricacies of friendships. Their faith shines through in every episode, reminding us that friendship is a gift from God, but it can also be messy at times. This perspective adds depth to the conversations and encourages listeners to seek God's guidance in their own friendships.
The only downside I can think of for this podcast is that there aren't enough episodes! Each time I finish an episode, I'm left craving more. However, considering the quality of content they deliver in each episode, it's understandable that producing more might take time. Nonetheless, I eagerly await new episodes because there is so much wisdom to be gleaned from Stacey and Tabatha's messages.
In conclusion, The Flaws of Friendship podcast is a must-listen for anyone looking for guidance or support in navigating friendships. Stacey and Tabatha's boldness, adventurous spirit, and Christ-centered approach make for a captivating and inspiring listen. Their authenticity and vulnerability create a safe space for listeners to explore the complexities of friendships and find comfort in knowing that they are not alone. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone seeking to build a solid foundation in their friendships and grow in their faith.
Is Leadership what we think it is? Is there a healthier way? Can we turn the tide? We think we can! Stacey puts Tabatha on the reporter's hot seat to discuss how Tabatha is doing Leadership the New Wineskin Way. Whether you've been a leader for years or just getting started, we invite you to join the conversation!
It was time for a check-in! We've missed you, we've missed our mics, and even more than that, we think HAVAR is growing into a lot more than what we thought it was (what's new?!). Now we're at 82 and New. It definitely feels like a new day! We had an amazing weekend last weekend of seeing the start of something we've wanted to see for so long. Tabatha set a powerful table for local leaders and Stacey almost didn't show up. But in the end, friendship set the table, and we think it just might be friendship that keeps us there. Well, we didn't see this one coming. A passion to follow God and a calling to do it together sometimes doesn't look like what we imagined. In those times, we cling to Him and let go of what He asks us so that the greater things can come. Now we've come full circle to how we began: Sometimes friendship looks like staying, other times it looks like going, and always it looks like celebrating! Listen in today for how to separate your paths without separating your hearts. Together means together, even when it doesn't, and it's all going to be okay when it's God who holds you both. When we come to relationships only wanting to receive, it ends up being a pretty lonely feeling on both sides. The root of "I" is isolation, though it may not feel like it in the moment. But when we come in the posture of service, it is life-giving to everyone. The root of "We" is community, and this is where we will always find our greatest fulfillment and purpose. Join us this week as we turn our Receiving Stations into Service Stations so that we all get full! We were excited to be joined by author, fellow podcaster, and our good friend Denise Pass, who shared biblical ways to change our mindset about relationships as well as her new book, "Make Up Your Mind: Unlock Your Thoughts, Transform Your Life." Have you ever felt the pain of disconnection and with it all the painful emotions it brings? When those moments come, it may seem like it's easier to check out than to check back in. But we know in HAVAR Land that we are called to never stay gone long and to always meet back at the table because that is what God-designed Friendship does. Here's how we did it this week and WHY. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/heyvarpodcast/support
There's nothing worse than having our own thoughts bombard us and not knowing where they come from or WHO's behind them! As Christian women, this can be a constant struggle since all of us have a deep desire to hear God but can't always be certain it's Him who is speaking to us. This week's podcast takes a few pointers from the Samaritan Woman at the Well on what it's like when Jesus starts talking to us, and how we have the right as daughters of God to take authority over our earthly thoughts so that they are are aligned with heavenly ones. *** Have you read Tabatha's mini e-book yet?! For many women the battle for our destinies is often fought on the frontline of our minds. The taunts and torment from the enemy can leave us feeling stagnant and disillusioned. When we are redeemed by the blood, walk in the light of God's truth, and are filled with His Spirit, His light shines upon the path to Freedom, Truth, and Enlightenment that paves the way to His purposes for our lives. In "Girl, Take Yourself Off the Shelf, You Were Made to Shine," Tabatha calls us to rise up as Daughters of God, filled with His Spirit and ready to shine the light of Heaven with power and authority to a world in need of what we carry. Ok ladies, here we go! Do alcohol and the anointing of God mix? Can Havar Life at The Well include a little wine every now and then? What's the harm, right?? Well, it seems the world is asking a similar question with a phrase we heard recently: "sober curious." People have started to wonder if drinking is actually benefitting them the way they think it does and are testing it out by changing their social drinking lifestyle. This week we're pressing in, but we're not so much "sober curious" as much as we are "Holy Spirit curious"! What do you think? Does a little wine really matter at God's Well? We might ruffle some cocktail feathers this week, but we invite you to come in, grab a spritzer, and decide for yourself if you want the wine of the world that turns to water, or the water at the well that turns into wine. This round's on us, cheers! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/heyvarpodcast/support
"Jealousy is an ugly monster! So many of us have been isolated from having true friends because of work, home, and life responsibilities, not to mention having calls on our lives that no one understands. It's hard to watch others find friendship when you know you need it as desperately as the air you breathe!" These powerful words were written by our guest and dear friend Angie Naish, who came to us because she wanted to admit what she had been feeling - jealousy over our friendship! It was keeping her stuck and isolated, but more importantly, it was robbing her of destiny. So, we gave her a big ole hug and asked her to talk about it with all of us because she's not the only one who has brought this up recently! Let's rip the lid off of this topic today, ladies! Do you ever have these ridiculous moments in your friendships that you think will stay a joke between the two of you forever and ever and then suddenly you find yourself telling it on a very public platform... like, say, a podcast? Ex. Normal-not-so-normal conversation one day: Tab: I do care for you, Stacey. Stacey: (completely, embarrassingly serious) But you never sit on my lap. We still don't know why, how, where this came from, but we laughed for ten hours and refer back to it at least once a week when we need a little absurd friendship pick-me-up. So, let's just say that after a couple of recent conversations where we both felt unheard, we successfully came back to the table to talk it over, and the result was Stacey got her wish. Join us in the lap of friendship this week that shares how we we worked our way through friction by discussing the dividing line of reasonableness and 4 characteristics of true community that build trust. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/heyvarpodcast/support
Q: What do you get when you put two best friends in a room with a lighter? A: A prophetic act to burn man-made labels and replace them with the truth of our God-given design. Once the smoke cleared, not only could we breathe again, but we could also see more clearly how God is doing this for all of us! Labels can be subtle little things that are spoken over us, sometimes maliciously but often innocently too, so we take them and wear them like badges. The trouble is that we never ask God if they're what HE'S thinking about us. We've been on quite the journey the last three weeks that led us here—to dismantling the labels so that we can step into our true identities, not just individually but together, too! So grab a lighter and join us! You'll be glad you did. One of the ways you can support Friendship Around the World is to subscribe and leave a review to this podcast. We are so grateful when you do! Think Disney's just for kids? Well, look again... at Encanto! This story follows Mirabel who, despite lacking a "special gift" like everyone else in her family, fights to save her family's home, which is cracking from the inside due to perfectionism, control, an unwillingness to admit that something is wrong, and so many other reasons! If Wisdom can scream from the streets like Proverbs says, then it can sure scream from our TV's. And that's exactly what it did as God wrapped up our 2-part series on spiritual gifts with an animated visual so powerful we're still trying to unwrap it. Do you ever feel like there's something missing, like you're not sure how to plug-in or show up, and when you do, maybe you still feel unsatisfied or frustrated? Like something just isn't clicking in? The second you received salvation, you were given Holy Spirit gifts. They are unique to you and empower you to take your place in the family of God as an active and contributing member of His supernatural Body. When you understand what your gifts are and for what purposes they were given, there is a confident and boldness that comes upon your life for the sake of those around you. Signs and wonders will follow you. Doors will open for you. And God's power will flow through you. Paul said do not be ignorant about them! YOU have supernatural gifts. We were so excited about this topic that halfway through the podcast, we realized we needed to make this a two-parter! We couldn't continue the discussion without pausing to let you discover your gifts for yourself... because when you know your power, you also know your position, and that makes all of us stronger! To discover your gifts, you can try Stacey's method discussed on the podcast, or you can go to Tabatha's favorite tool - a quiz (linked below)! Either way, we're excited to hear what you discover, which will set us up for Part 2 next week with Tabatha's amazing encounter with God and Disney's Encanto. :) https://www.biblesprout.com/articles/god/holy-spirit/spiritual-gifts-test/ One of the ways you can support Friendship Around the World is to subscribe and leave a review to this podcast. Okay, let's face it. No one likes to feel weak, walked on, or mistreated. Feeling powerful is a much better way to protect ourselves, right? But God doesn't want us to just feel powerful, He wants us to BE powerful. And that looks a little different than how most Christians go about it. This week God is showing us that the way to TRUE power, where the fruit of the Spirit is bursting from our lives to yield what it's supposed to, is found in this word: Vulnerability. That might seem a little odd, and if we're honest, not very exciting and maybe even a little "ummm, no thank you." But hang on. God is leading us to a special place together of unbridled force through surrender that's not weak, passive, or boring. He's showing us that the way to powerful living is through opening our hearts so that heaven opens over us. This might be vulnerability the way you haven't quite heard it talked about before. "Always be humble (lowly) and gentle (meek). Be patient (longsuffering) with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because of your love." Well, as we so often say around here, God rarely lets us talk about a topic we don't first have to DO. We are Friendship in Motion after all! And this week, God called a big "change of play" through a friend. We were stunned, a little breathless, relieved, scared, excited, and oh so grateful! In this season of Quick Turnarounds, we can't be confused when we start walking one way, only to have God call an audible and tell us to turn it around! This is strategy, but if we don't know that, we'll stay stuck in confusion. That's the enemy's inheritance, not ours! Turnaround - noun 1. an abrupt or unexpected change, especially one that results in a more favorable situation. 2. the process of completing or the time needed to complete a task, especially one involving receiving something, processing it, and sending it out again. When God calls an audible, it's our job to listen and respond quickly and courageously, remembering always that it's to keep us safe and move us to a more favorable place! So, get ready to watch God move in Sudden Turnarounds and Audible Plays. Listen in this week to hear about ours! Have you downloaded your FREE E-book "Hardwired for Friendship" yet? What does it mean to be a "prophetic" friendship podcast? What does it mean to be a prophetic people? And why should you even care?! Well, we'll tell you, friends. There are so many things available to us in the Kingdom as Spirit-filled believers that we aren't accessing because we don't know that we can! Today, we banter (or, as Tabatha likes to say, we "blah-blah") back-and-forth about what it means to be women who hear the voice of God and move in the NOW word of the Lord together under the "palm tree" (Tabatha again) of Friendship. We're very thankful for living imagery around here. Should we feel guilty about using our God-given abilities and talents to make money? So much confusion and controversy surrounds this topic in Christian circles, so when the question came to us from one of our friends, we couldn't wait to put our Friendship two-cents in! The Bible says that God gives us the ability to create wealth (Deut. 8:18) and Jesus didn't hold back much in Matthew 25 when He called the servant who failed to multiply his money "wicked and slothful." We don't want anyone around here being called wicked and slothful, friends. So, as any two good, opinionated friends should, we kept digging to get to the root of mindsets that keep us stuck and feeling guilty. When we have a healthy understanding of WHY God gives us abilities to make money, then we can become extravagant givers and resource centers for the blessings of God to flow. Isn't that what we all want? We know we do! Big shout out to our friend Kiersten who challenged us this week! We loved it! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theflawsoffriendship/support

We had fun with this one! Looking at some common advice out there in Friendship Land, we busted up a few myths that are almost true... but not quite! It's so easy to get swept away in what sounds good because honestly, there can be a lot of truth in conventional wisdom. BUT, when filtered through the Holy Spirit, it may not be quite as true as it sounds. As Christian women who are called to live and think higher, we have to soar above the noise to gain insight the world doesn't have so we can do what the world can't do! This isn't your typical Thanksgiving podcast, and we are over-flowingly grateful for that. We've just returned from the Fierce Women's Conference at Convergence Point Apostolic Hub in Independence, MO, where a banquet was set for us to feast around the table of the Lord. We laughed deeply, cried irreverently, worshiped with all we had, and made new connections with women who are giving their all in pursuit of Jesus. To say we are changed is an understatement. We are transformed. To Pastor Shelley Lowery, our dear friend Cathy Tully, and all of our Fierce new sisters, this one's for you. We now know: The Feast is different when you eat with Warriors. Thank you for your fierce passion and unwavering devotion. We have tasted and seen and will remain in pursuit of the One who came to us this weekend. "He came. We knew that He would come." Well for starters, you can try not listening to this podcast! :) Sometimes it's okay to commit to something simply because your friend asks you to, but we are learning (through much pain and gnashing of teeth) that as God calls us deeper and higher together, no decision should be made lightly, and that sometimes the best thing you can do for your friend is to STAY when God calls her to GO. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theflawsoffriendship/support
We have all been bogged down by struggles and challenges along life's journey, but when we allow our Faith to be our guide, we break free from the burdens that try to weigh us down, and we run the race that God has placed before us with endurance. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theflawsoffriendship/support
We are in a remarkable new season where we get to exchange old ways for new, striving for rest, and limitation for freedom from all the things that have held us back. The calendar year has been reset, and with it comes the grace to abide in Jesus and align with others who are on the same mission as us. Friendship has never been so important! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theflawsoffriendship/support
In moments of chaos and every kind of disorder, God will set apart persons to accomplish a holy work on the earth. If you haven't noticed, we are living in one of those moments now. The times are ripe for mighty women of valor to arise in power, to come forth in purpose, and to carry out holy assignments. It all starts with understanding who we are and what it means to be chosen and set apart. Have you ever wondered what makes some friendships stagnant and others a force to be reckoned with?! In this episode, we break down what it means to be set apart to accomplish a good and holy work, and how engaging in that work is like a high voltage electrical current, moving us from one point to the next. Basically, we're Friendship scientists now. Also, Stacey announces a new venture that's been on her heart for a while that is finally launching with the help, of course, from her High Voltage Var. Hey, we can't talk about Friendship moving mountains unless we actually move mountains with it! It is to our benefit to not only hear God but to obey Him, and we must have the wisdom to step into the new before the old completely breaks down. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theflawsoffriendship/support

Every woman has SOMETHING God has placed in her heart to do, but it's not always clear as to how to start it or keep it going. One of the dreams in our hearts is to help you figure out the paths you can take and give you what you need for the journey. If God called you TO it, then He will equip you to DO it. And when you need help, that's what Friends are for. For More Info, Email Us @ theflawsoffriendship@gmail.com --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theflawsoffriendship/support
We're playing Spin the Wheel! No topic was off limits (though maybe a few should've been). Marriage, children, religion, makeups, breakups, and more all got a few minutes of off-the-cuff musings. We probably should never do this, which makes us want to do it more. We hope you enjoy this (mostly) light-hearted conversation that was a little more tame than our kitchen table ones. Until we plop a mic there, be grateful and let us know how YOU would answer some of these if put on the podcast spot! At least we have Friendship to help us work it all out! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theflawsoffriendship/support
It's easy to cross our own boundary lines, but the question is: How can we learn to work our way back into those safe areas once again? On this Friendship Friday Podcast, Kiersten Banks will share how the practice of journaling can show us: - Where our boundaries have been crossed - Where our limits have been reached - How to Reevaluate and step back to see what we need to address --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theflawsoffriendship/support
We're continuing our Boundaries conversation from last week (Episode 45) with our good friend Kiersten Banks—a delightful human being who is wonderfully transparent and straight-up wise beyond her years. She has so much to offer us in the ways and practices of self-care, a passion she carries because of her own road to health and healing. Kiersten says, "Somewhere along my journey, I learned that taking care of myself was selfish. I picked up the habit of ignoring all the red flags I was receiving, and my life slowly snowballed into a body with an autoimmune disease, a mind with constant disordered anxiety, and a spirit that was totally disconnected and numb." Who CAN'T relate to this in some way?! You're going to love this conversation as Kiersten teaches us to recognize areas where we lack boundaries, which has so much to do with knowing and admitting our limitations! But once we're aware and confident to say, "What's mine is mine, and what's yours is yours," then we are able to enjoy life and our friendships to the fullest! Do you have healthy boundaries OR could some of those boundaries actually be defenses? No shame here... we have all built them to keep us protected in some way. But the truth is, our defenses keep us from the connection and intimacy we crave while healthy boundaries move us toward them. This is an important distinction to make if we want our friendships and all of our relationships to thrive! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theflawsoffriendship/support
I (Stacey) need to come a little clean here... I always thought boundaries were my thing. But have you ever heard the saying, "Fences make good neighbors"? Well, my fences were getting a little banged up and whacked down, so when Tabatha suggested we talk about boundaries on the podcast this week, I kind of freaked out a little (lot), went to a couple of therapists, wrecked my car in a parking lot, and took a day off work to ponder what my boundary-less, aimless life had become. Aaand, this was pretty much all because I needed to set a time limit on something pertaining to Flaws. Look, you can't say we're not invested here. This week we take a look at what boundaries mean in close relationships, why and how to have them, and what God says about them. Hint: He sets boundary lines because He protects what He loves, and they fall in very pleasant places for us, friends! If you're experiencing any sort of burnout, it might just be because your fences are getting a little beat down, but this week we're going to repair and stand them up again so that blessing, not burnout, becomes the healthy marker of a life marked by God's overflowing protection over you and your friendships. Happy Friendship Friday. On this Episode, Tabatha takes us deeper into the topic of Gossip and explains What it is, What is does, and What we need to do about it. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theflawsoffriendship/support
"Listen girl, don't repeat this, but did I tell you what Karen told me the other day? I'm ONLY telling you this because we should pray for her." The reasons we find to gossip are pretty funny... well, funny until we learn how God feels about it and what effect it has on us when we do it. The Bible says gossip kindles God's wrath—against us, not the other person!—and leads to barrenness. We don't know about you, but ten minutes of getting something off our chest about someone else sure isn't worth an empty, fruitless life. Gossip causes pain, so why would we want to inflict pain on those we love... especially on our best friends?! There's nothing quite like a behind-her-back conversation that will ruin her trust in you and your friendship, so the next time you're tempted to do it, push play on this podcast and remember: FLAW: Destroy Her Reputation LAW: Protect Her Reputation Build-up your bestie before others; don't tear her down! Have you ever had a misunderstanding in a friendship that caused a tiff, a rift, a blow up or a meltdown? No? Ok, us either, but let's talk about it anyway for fun's sake, shall we? Misunderstanding probably gets us all everyday, multiple times a day! No shame here, friend; it happens to the best of us. But, instead of playing the blame game over how she was so wrong and we were so right, how about we better understand where misunderstanding comes from, how to communicate better to avoid it, and what to do if you're stuck in the middle of it now? We might have a TINY (with capital letters) bit of experience in this area, so listen in for help and, as usual, a few ridiculous stories of our flawed ways and God's remarkable grace that continues to show us ways to do Friendship better than we could without Him or each other.
