So if it's a concern of yours then this is an episode you'll want to dive into too. Be warned there is a lot of giggling! In this episode, we cover: What our thoughts were around ChatGPT when it first came out What happened to expand our minds and understanding around using AI and ChatGPT How we use Chat GPT to save time Our privacy concerns around using ChatGPT and how we overcame them A few words of warning if you do decide to use it for content creation (and why we still wont use it for content creation for clients!) THE THESIS: Hillary and Chelsea Clinton are so utterly depraved and avaricious, so devoid of any moral foundation--let alone faith in The Lord, Jesus--that they happily chit-chat with a lady famous for wanting men to spit in her mouth while they look in her eyes. These people are fully captured by evil. THE SCRIPTURE & SCRIPTURAL RESOURCES: The Lord created us in His image. He told us to be fruitful and multiply, under the Banner of marriage, one man to one woman. In my opinion, as I experience scripture, in the sexual union of marriage, God gave us the honor of allowing him to work through us to create life. Is that any less of a miracle than God creating the entire Universe? I think not. This, in my opinion, is why Satan twists sexual desires, because he seeks to mock that miraculous gift God have us. Genesis 1:26-28 26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. 28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” The Apostle Paul taught about what sexual immoarlity encompasses. I wonder what Jesus thinks of Hillary and Chelsea pimping the WAP rap? 1 Corinthians 6:12-20 Sexual Immorality 12 “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything. 13 You say, “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will destroy them both.” The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14 By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. 15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! 16 Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”[a] 17 But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.[b] 18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. THE NEWS & COMMENT: For those whom God has rescued from hearing the “song”, the phrase WAP means “Wet A$& Pu**y”. That is what Hillary and Chelsea are celebrating and legitimizing. [AUDIO] - Hillary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton talking about WAP might be the worst and most awkward thing ever recorded on film Yes, that is the most sickening act of pandering I have ever seen. It's worse than pandering, it's pimping. This is the “song” which Hillary clearly admires and that Chelsea finds admirable because it conveys “women” being fierce. WARNING: this is a vile, obscene, porongraphic rap. [AUDIO] - WARNING: Utterly obscene, without merit, no saving grace: Cardi B - WAP (Lyrics) feat. Megan Thee Stallion Then again, Chelsea's dad is William Jefferson Blythe Clinton III and I imagine Slick Willy [God rest Rush] grooves to WAP and much worse. PS: Is that Gishlaine Maxwell at Chelsea's wedding? Did Hillary bring her hot sauce to the painting session? [AUDIO] - Thank goodness for hilarious mind-cleaners of a sort, no pun intended. Joe Biden sings his new single, “My Mind's going blank, now.” See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Wade being overturned. We also discuss the importance of advocacy, getting involved in any way you can, and calling out those who are ‘hurting' women and thanking those who are ‘helping', as well as why everybody is impacted by this new legislature. This week I decided to revisit a powerful Fierce Factor encore episode with POP Leadership Academy member the brilliant, beautiful, and so relatable Dr Sara Trammell. A business track speaker for multiple industry conferences including AMSPA ans Aesthetic Next, her message is strikingly counterculture; over the past 15 months in thought partnership “Dr T” has made some impressive but not surprising dynamic moves in her business! She is gearing up to expand to a second location, double her team, catapult her mobile business brand, and do it all in a very different way than most traditional MedSpas. In fact, her story is anchored in the ideology that had she followed the typical industry advice, she would not be where she is today. While Dr Sara Trammel got her start on the clinical side, she had a very organic calling to start an aesthetic business. In this episode I talked with Dr Trammel about three stages of business growth- from buying an airstream and launching a mobile botox clinic called “The Beauty Bus' to expanding to a brick and mortar location to hiring team and implementing recurring revenue into her business. If you are thinking about taking your business to its next level and building your business and life in a deeply fulfilling way, you won't want to miss this powerful interview! Enjoy! This week I am sharing a special Fierce Factor Encore episode with Alisha Rose Merlo, Senior Director of Professional Relations at Colorescience and Founder of The Inspo Zone on LinkedIn. She joins us to share her journey to the aesthetics industry, the importance of elevating others and how to be the most authentic version of yourself. Leaving New Jersey to attend school for a Degree in Speech Language Pathology, Alisha knew three things: she was never getting married, never having kids and never driving a minivan. Looking back now, a married mother and grandmother of two, Alisha's biggest learning from that time is never say never. Alisha goes on to discuss hurdles in her life and career, both self-imposed and external. The best advice Alisha can offer is that if you have to wait, make use of the waiting. Have patience, gain knowledge and learn to apply it. Be ready when the opportunity does come. Networking and building community is about elevating others and adding value according to our fierce guest. In this episode Alisha offers advice to her younger self (shouldn't we all!?). Take the time to recognize the milestones as you reach them. Be present. Don't compromise your integrity to advance, and pursue everything you do with a heartfelt passionate intensity. Boudicca (also known as Boadicea and Boudica) was Queen of the Iceni people on the island of Britannia. The Romans had conquered and occupied much of the island and around 60-61 AD, after her husband's death, the occupying forces redoubled their savagery against her people. They confiscated Iceni wealth and killed indiscriminately. They flogged Boudicca and raped her daughters in the market square.Boudicca bided her time and galvanized her forces. She also managed to bring together other tribes of Britannia to mount a rebellion against the Roman occupiers. Spurred by revenge she was successful for a while, regaining much of the land the Iceni had lost. Although ultimately defeated, she remains a symbol for British unity to this day because of her bravery. This week I am sharing a special Fierce Factor Encore episode with one of our fabulous POP Leadership Academy grads, Rachel Day MD. When we first met, Dr Day shared with me that she was experiencing rapid growth and desired to put systems and structures in place to support steady, sustainable acceleration. She also was very particular about one thing: she wasn't receptive to “cookie cutter approaches” and she was looking for someone to help her expose her brand in a way that elevated her unique message- not recommending powder puff commoditized marketing like had been advised to her in the past. So basically she was speaking my love language. Dr. Rachel Day, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD), founded OneSkin Dermatology in Chambersburg, PA and her mission has been to bring care back to healthcare. Under a direct care model she is able to offer complete skin care in a personal, approachable setting for the whole family. She believes that she is a go-to support system for her patients (and just so happens to be an ivy league trained Board Certified Dermatologist who is able to provide elite skincare and wellness recommendations) But that's secondary. Her approach is rooted in her belief that a purposeful partnership with patients is the foundation to achieving their skin health goals and lifestyle goals as a whole. Her holistic approach is brought to life by offering up-to-date health, nutrition and women's wellness services. She prides herself on her honesty, integrity, and compassion in guiding patients through their skin health journey. You'll hear me refer to Dr Day as “Rachel” because she insists on not being called “Doctor”. For her that's too formal and creates separation between her and her patients who she feels she is as much an equal. Without further ado, please enjoy my educational and entertaining interview with the beautiful and talented Dr Rachel Day. This week I am sharing a very special Fierce Factor Encore episode with a very special person in my life. This woman is someone who caught my attention when she absolutely captivated her audience on stage at an industry event her company asked me to speak at. It was one of those moments where I was thinking in my mind “oh man, I have to present after HER”!? I'm really thrilled to (re)share this episode with you today with an absolute badass who inspires me daily to disrupt the status quo. Zanoli Kozlowski is widely recognized in our industry as the Global Director of Education (and now is taking her success to the next level with a transition into sales) for Skin Better Science. She joins us today to discuss all things aesthetics, personal growth, and naturally, “The Fierce Factor”. Zanoli gives us her backstory on how she journeyed from South Africa to America to become a skincare guru and who inspired her along the way. She talks about how she initially went to school to study computers but made the leap into skincare, specifically in America. Positive influences have played a large part in Zanoli's career. We hear about how she developed her own personal brand within Skin Better Science that helped to get her where she is today. The key is to focus on personal and exponential growth, so Zanoli tells us how she manages to do that in her busy schedule. Ever wonder who your biggest fan should be? This week I am sharing a very special Fierce Factor Encore episode. I've pulled out a few of my very favorite interviews with Fierce Women in Aesthetics who create, inspire, and disrupt the status quo. I'm really thrilled to share this absolutely badass episode with you today. Last year, I had the honor of interviewing one of the aesthetic industry's favorite nurse injectors, Traci Andreason and I picked her brain on all the hot questions from growing an IG following into the tens of thousands to converting social media leads to patients, to staying authentic and true to herself when her industry is gripping her to look and act like everyone else on the market And finally, priceless advice on how to leverage unique knowledge and expertise to monetize online programs and products. Traci is an RN and advanced nurse injector with a background in facial aesthetics. She is currently studying for her NP degree while she treats patients at Ruma aesthetics in Utah. Traci has authored several books and is on a mission to enhance the availability of high quality education for nurse injectors. I enjoyed this interview so much because Traci is someone who I have so much respect for. She is a wife, mom, business partner, and student- and truly values authenticity in relationships. She gives some raw advice about balance between acquiring new leads and actually attracting the right people who will genuinely treasure her value. Watch the podcast interview on YouTube here. Enjoy! This isn't your typical Thanksgiving podcast, and we are over-flowingly grateful for that. We've just returned from the Fierce Women's Conference at Convergence Point Apostolic Hub in Independence, MO, where a banquet was set for us to feast around the table of the Lord. We laughed deeply, cried irreverently, worshiped with all we had, and made new connections with women who are giving their all in pursuit of Jesus. To say we are changed is an understatement. We are transformed. To Pastor Shelley Lowery, our dear friend Cathy Tully, and all of our Fierce new sisters, this one's for you. We now know: The Feast is different when you eat with Warriors. Thank you for your fierce passion and unwavering devotion. We have tasted and seen and will remain in pursuit of the One who came to us this weekend. "He came. We knew that He would come." May your Thanksgiving be different this year as one seated in the Presence of the One who prepares the table. Feast well, sisters. "The anointing of your presence satisfies me like nothing else. You are such a rich banquet of pleasure to my soul." Psalm 63:5 (TPT) --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theflawsoffriendship/support

This week I am sharing a very special Fierce Factor Encore episode. I've pulled out a few of my very favorite interviews with Fierce Women in Aesthetics who create, inspire, and disrupt the status quo. Last year, I had the pleasure of interviewing fifth year plastic surgery resident Dr. Deepa Bhat. She shared some inspiring insight around cultural identity and the importance of appreciating the impact of each and every small advancement that adds up to significant milestones over time. Deepa shares one very empowering tool that helps people grow their confidence and overcome hurdles. This interview is a great reminder that every small step you take towards your goal matters and that you shouldn't take any of them for granted. This week I am sharing a very special Fierce Factor Encore episode. I've pulled out a few of my very favorite interviews with Fierce Women in Aesthetics who create, inspire, and disrupt the status quo. Last year I had the opportunity to interview a leading expert in clinical aesthetics, Nurse Practitioner extraordinaire, Lori Robertson. She is a decorated podium speaker, owner of Skin Perfect Medical Aesthetics and Co-founder of The Aesthetic Immersion. In this episode we discussed her varied career, safety, ethics and advice for nurse practitioners. Lori begins by taking us through her exciting career path. She was an ICU nurse before moving on to mountain rescue for 3 years. Lori then worked as a medical consultant on General Hospital for over 19 years. Creative license often overtook facts in storylines; however, she is proud of tackling serious issues. Having ‘buddy Botox' with a friend caused Lori to become interested in this field. She loved the atmosphere and wanted to learn more about the profession. She went back to the doctor she had seen, Dr. Kwok, and he hired her on practice and paid for her training. Lori has found that medical aesthetics is her true calling; she loves being able to have a deeper relationship with her patients and loves to learn. When hiring a practitioner, Lori advises hiring someone that shares your core values. Within your clinic, Lori tells us about the importance of empowering individuals and to appreciate the work they do. Money shouldn't be the motivation! I mean, wow. Lori talks about the biggest hurdle in her career and how she views it as a teaching moment. She believes that everything happens for a reason and that she has learned something valuable from every experience. Lori and Kaeli then discuss the future of The Aesthetic Immersion learning platform and the one-on-one training her program offers. I absolutely LOVED this interview with Lori so had to revisit this throwback as a Fierce Women in Aesthetics Encore. Enjoy! Ashley is probably most well-known for Fierce Women's community on Instagram and Facebook. She's most proud of her online courses, her ongoing Fierce women Podcast, “Coffee and Conversation,” and her blogs. She is most passionate about speaking with ambitious women about how to overcome adversity in their life with a message of survival, fierce mindsets, and victory. In episode #161 of the Fraternity Foodie Podcast, we find out what was special about UNC Charlotte and also Central Washington University, how she (as a high school English teacher) helps her students enter society after graduation with a plan, what it's like being a Women Empowerment Speaker and public speaking coach at Fierce Women LLC, why we don't dream big enough, how she stays motivated, why public speaking is important for recent grads, tips for college students to improve their public speaking, workouts before a presentation, and ways to make a real impact on your audience. An interview with Lisa Dalrymple, author of 11 books for young readers, picture books, novels, and non-fiction, most recently Fierce: Women who Shaped Canada. Hear her advice on creating tension, her attraction to wilderness settings, and her lifelong fear of dark water. 20 minutes. All ages. A full transcript is available at CabinTales.ca. Show Notes [0:00] Intro [1:10] Interview with Lisa Dalrymple CA: …How do you feel about tormenting characters? LD: It's fun. … I can best torment my character by knowing why I'm terrified of and putting my character in a situation that I would find incredibly difficult. So I'm so terrified of dark water … So I took my character and I put him in the middle of the Amazon jungle, swimming in a creek, a tributary off the Amazon…and I had him have to rescue someone. … [2:15] CA: When you're drafting, do you start at the beginning of the story? LD: I do. And I like to begin my story with action. I like there to be something like a pinnacle moment that is happening, so when the reader opens the book, they are right there in the moment with the character. [2:35] CA: Do you have any advice for young writers on how to begin their stories? LD: I do. … Spend some time with your character. And then when this plot element happens to them, your readers are like, Whoa… Like the situation that I was talking about. Swimming in the Amazon would be terrifying to anyone, but you take a kid who can't even enter swimming pools if he can't see the bottom, and all of a sudden your reader knows this kid, your reader has been his friend because you set it up and you develop your character to that point and your reader understands just how terrified he really is. … [3:40] CA: Do you tend to edit yourself as you draft? … LD: I over-edit as I'm writing. … So do as I say, not as I do. …Deadlines come in helpful… [4:55] CA: You revise as you draft and then do you revise at the end as well, in a separate process from drafting? LD: I do, but there's much less that needs to be done because I've already kind of gone and tweaked every sentence far too much. So at the end, normally what I do at that point is, even now, I give it to a peer. .... [5:30] CA: Do you ever read your work out loud as you revise? LD: Always…. I don't know if this comes from having started as a picture book writer, and a lot of my picture books rhyme … I would read out loud in order to get not just the rhyme scheme down but that cadence and that meter and to make sure that it felt very natural and not forced. And I find that I can't lose that even when I'm writing prose. … [6:25] CA: Do you have a favorite POV to write from? LD: I very much like writing from first person present tense. … The last book I wrote … I couldn't write it that way at all because to be nonfiction I had to say “her” not “me,” and of course it was all past tense. So that was an adjustment for me. But … my favourite is definitely first-person, present tense. [7:10] CA: And do you have a favorite setting from either from your own work or from a favorite piece of fiction? LD: …When you say that I immediately end up in the wilderness, in the woods. … Maybe because of the potential and the mystery that's out there in the woods and that anything can happen. I really like that. [7:40] CA: And do you do any setting exercises yourself? … LD: …Absolutely. And especially with the work I was doing with the ten women in Fierce, every single one of them, and they were all different time periods …. So I would have to research what was going on in each time period... And I would have maps of where they traveled to the best of our knowledge ... [8:45] CA: And do you have any exercises that you would recommend to young writers for building either setting or character? LD: I do but I've stolen them from other writers… I have them fill out their application for summer camp … it's amazing how much you can learn from a character just by answering those basic questions. … But … once you've got this filled in, you need to know that you don't have to get every detail that came out of that into your book…especially not on the first page or two. [10:40] CA: And do you keep a journal or sketchbook? LD: I don't. Unless I'm traveling. … So it's something that I definitely should do more of. … [11:10] CA: And where would you say you get some of your best ideas? LD: … definitely my kids. …. Just the different insights that they have into the world and the different things that they're confronting and dealing with. They definitely inspire probably everything I've done, really. [11:40] CA: And do you have any advice to young writers on getting ideas or organizing ideas into stories? LD: I find that whenever I'm called on to write something, … I never have an idea. … But when I'm doing something else … I will have all these ideas … but I never have a chance to write them down. So what I do is I have this little portfolio, filofax kind of thing. And whenever I have an idea, I take a moment and I write it down. … And it's in the box and it means that next time I'm like, “What should I write about? I should start something new,” then I can open the portfolio… [13:25] CA: …. And do you have a regular writing practice? … LD: Once I come into the world for the morning, I tend to lose whatever creative spark that I might have had. So I make my coffee while the house is getting ready and … I kind of tiptoe out, still in my pyjamas, to my shed. And I sit out here and I write, usually for a couple of hours. Those are my best hours of the morning. … [14:20] CA: And what were some of the books that influenced you or made you want to write? LD: I grew up in England. I lived there till I was eight. Enid Blyton was a big one for me… I loved her books. And that probably had a big impact on me because a lot of my books were – like when I was ten – were adventure books. You know, kids getting lost in the forest or the wilderness…. [15:20] CA: And did you as a kid have an off-the-cuff storytelling experience, either around the fire or any sort where you made up stories on the fly and told them? LD: I was involved in Girl Guides until I was in my early 20s to be honest. … So we spent a lot of time around the campfire telling stories and singing songs and jokes. … [15:50] CA: So do you have any favorite scary stories? LD: … I find that I've tried to tell them to my kids when we've been camping. We'll be sitting around the campfire. And I can remember with such clarity the stories that we would hear…. But I cannot for the life of me remember how the story began or ended. So I kind of fail as a campfire storyteller actually… [16:40] CA: And do you collect anything? LD: I've always been a collector. .... I think the things that I collect these days are very different than when we used to be younger and collect like scratch-and-sniff stickers and friendship bracelets and things like that. I still put together photo albums and I get 4x6s printed of every moment in our lives. … it sounds really cheesy to say that I'm collecting memories. [17:25] CA: Lovely. Well, this has been very fruitful…. thank you again so much for your time. LD: Okay. …Bye. [18:05] Lisa Dalrymple introduces herself LD: I'm Lisa Dalrymple. I'm a Canadian writer. And it's kind of difficult to pin me down because I've written picture books and I've written middle-grade novels for older students; I've written nonfiction and I've written fiction. I think I was probably writing as soon as I could hold a pencil. And right now, because there's very little like I can do given Covid, I've actually gone back to high school – even though I have two degrees in English – because I love math and science as well, just to sort of further differentiate. So yeah. [18:45] Find out more about Lisa Dalrymple You can hear more creative writing advice from Lisa Dalrymple on Cabin Tales Episode 5.5, “Author Interviews about Tension,” on Episode 7.5: “Author Interviews about Endings;” and on Episode 8, “The Never-ending Story,” about revision. This week I am sharing a very special Fierce Factor Encore episode. I've pulled out a few of my very favorite interviews with Fierce Women in Aesthetics who create, inspire, and disrupt the status quo. Last year I had the opportunity to get vulnerable with one of this industry's thought leaders, Dr. Sabrina Fabi. She is a board-certified dermatologist who practices out of the world-renowned Cosmetic Laser Dermatology practice in San Diego. You may recognize her as the medical news correspondent for Fox 5 News in San Diego as well as a staple on the Allergan talk show, The Gist. However, she is so much more than what we get to see on TV. Dr. Fabi begins by telling us about herself and her background, including how her two parents immigrated to the USA from Ecuador. They were very entrepreneurial, which is a trait that was passed down to Sabrina and her siblings. We hear about how Dr. Fabi decided that she wanted to be a dermatologist very early in her life but was told by many people that she wouldn't be successful. Having dealt with many naysayers on her journey, Dr. Fabi shares some of these interactions and offers up advice on how to power through their negative words. You may have to sacrifice or take risks in life, but you can have it all. After, Dr. Fabi gives her opinion on being a female in her field. Dr. Fabi discusses her mentors before explaining that, to her, the Fierce Factor means being comfortable in the uncomfortable. She says that it's important to realize when you're in that space, a breakthrough is about to happen. Even if you don't get the outcome that you want, there's going to be some growth that comes out of it. In the early 1900s, Sarah Lloyd Green was notorious for sticking it to the man as a feminist, suffragette and labor organizer in Kansas City. Her story isn't well known, but she was a champion for Black and white laundry workers and even started a waitress union.

In today's episode, I'm sharing 6 truths we need to raise our girls to believe if we want them to grow into fierce women unafraid to take up space in a world that would rather women be seen and not heard.
Women in the Bible aren't shy or retiring; they're fierce and funny and demanding and relevant to 21st-century people. Women in the Bible—some of their names we know, others we've only heard, and others are tragically unnamed. In Fierce: Women of the Bible and Their Stories of Violence, Mercy, Bravery, Wisdom, Sex, and Salvation (Fortress, 2017), Pastor and provocateur Alice Connor introduces these women and invites us to see them not as players in a man's story—as victims or tempters—nor as morality archetypes, teaching us to be better wives and mothers, but as fierce foremothers of the faith. These women's stories are messy, challenging, and beautiful. When we read their stories, we can see not only their particular, fearsome lives but also our own. Alice Connor is an Episcopal priest and a chaplain on a college campus. Dr. Christina Gessler's background is in anthropology, women's history, and literature. She works as a historian, poet, and photographer. In seeking the extraordinary in the ordinary, Gessler writes the histories of largely unknown women, poems about small relatable moments, and takes many, many photos in nature. In Norse mythology, Valkyries were women who went out into battles to choose the slain warriors who deserved to be in Valhalla, Odin's place in Asgard, to carry on fighting in preparation for the final apocalyptic confrontation of Ragnarok, between gods and giants. Fighters would see the Valkyries flying through the air or riding on horses, with shields and helmets, some saving the lives and ships of those they favoured, some causing death to those they disliked. These stories of Valkyries and Valhalla offer insights into the lives and values of the people who told them, with the possibility that human women went into battle too. Butte, Montana, once called "The Richest Hill in the World" due to its mineral wealth, is also known for its rich and riveting history. Settled in 1864 as a mining camp, the town soon attracted investments from the wealthy east coast elite, and by the turn of the 20th century was the largest city between Chicago and San Francisco. Increased production led to failing safety standards and strenuous working conditions resulting in the tragic accident that caused the deadliest hard rock underground mine fire ever in America. I will be reading your reviews in an upcoming episode so if you have any questions ask away :-) Powerful, Passionate and acting like a Lady with Kelly Youngs Welcome to this of The Sex, Money and Food podcast! What could you do if you truly believed you could create whatever you wanted in your life? What would your life look like? Our guest for this episode, Kelly Youngs of She Is Fierce, has created a brand helping women do exactly that: pursue their biggest, most courageous dreams. On this episode of the Sex, Money, and Food Podcast, Kelly shares her story of leaving a high-powered position in London, starting a family in a small town in Florida and finding the courage and the daring to start the She Is Fierce movement. More About This Show Not long ago, Kelly Youngs was living what she thought was a dream life. She lived in London and worked tirelessly as a high-flying Senior Producer for CNN International. She was married to her English husband and lived near the River Thames. While she loved what she did, something inside of her knew there was more to life than endless hours, and non-stop work. So when she and her husband decided to start a family she suggested they move back to Florida. They left London and headed home to St. Augustine to raise a family. The first few years were fun, she had consulting jobs and was still "in the mix". She was still active in her industry and was traveling for work. But over time that work phased out because she wasn't in the markets where there was real action; there were no media jobs near her. She kept looking around wondering what the heck she was going to do and what she had gotten herself into! She had a two-year old and a baby on the way so she knew they weren't going to move to one of the big markets like Hong Kong or New York. But she also couldn't sit still! She knew there was more for her. After some soul searching and even a pity party, she realized her focus was off: she was focusing on what wasn't possible, rather than what was. She reminded herself she has the potential to create whatever she wants (we all do). With that in mind, she decided to act on an idea she'd had for a long time. Over the years she had wanted to create a community where women could discover their true potential, feel empowered, and accomplish amazing things! She set out to do just that and created the She Is Fierce community. It was a resounding success, women all over the world resonated with her message and it became a movement. Today there are more than 100,000 women in the tribe, and over 20,000 women on Kelly's mailing list. The She Is Fierce movement has held sold out events and has members in eight countries spanning the globe. To continue spreading the message, Kelly has a podcast by the same name in which she touches the hearts, mind and lives of women wanting to live their lives boldly and follow their dreams. Today we talk about her community, but also finding like-minded women in your community whether or not you join the She Is Fierce group. We also talk about her passion and purpose challenge; listen in for all of that and more on today’s Sex Money Food podcast with Kelly Youngs! Tweetable: “Though she be but little she be fierce.” - Kelly Youngs Kelly Answers The Questions Rank the following in order: sex, money, or food? I knew this was coming and I was having a hard time ranking these! I’m choosing family as an overarching thing and all three of those fit. I love being around the table with my family, giving love for food, and I love my husband and it’s also the financial part. What does fierce smell like to you? I do listen to your show so I did cheat and thought this one through! I came up with one that I feel is a good one: the smell of being by water. I live in Florida, I lived in Sydney for a while and even in London we had to be near the (River) Thames. For me it’s a feeling of freedom - having wide open spaces, and having the ability to feel free and feel strong. This is an interview with new author, Alice Connor. Her book, Fierce: Women of the Bible and Their Stories of Violence, Mercy, Bravery, Wisdom, Sex, and Salvation, seeks to excavate the neglected stories of women in biblical tradition. Walter Brueggemann says that... "The “old, old story” concerns “All the king’s men” or “All the president’s men.” The “new, new song” is about all the women who belong to the coming realm of liberty and justice. Alice Connor is a skillful artist who knows how to transpose old, old stories into new, new songs. In her lively imagination the old old stories do not stay old. They are powerfully and accessibly new and contemporary for our time and place. Connor knows that “feminism” is about power. She shows how these ancient stories are filled with powerful futures." We chat about Paul's church ladies and other biblical themes, as well as the journey from idea to book. Catch up with Alice at her website: Fierce Ass Women.
