What are you passionate about above all other things? What excites you to learn more, or experience or talk about? Prompt 2: Next we need to understand what those passions mean for our lives as a whole. What does pursuing that pull offer all aspects of your life? Think about: Your mental and physical wellbeing Relationships Finances Spirituality Work Prompt 3: Looking at everything in those first two prompts, how could you condense your findings into one easy-to-understand soul-led goal? Prompt 4: Now it's time to apply some King of Pentacles energy to this. Write down all the tools, amenities and privileges you currently have in your life that can help you nurture that goal. That can help you pursue it and add fuel to the fire so to speak. Start to build your soul goal toolbox! What is a spiritual journey and how do you go on one? This week on the Self Care Tarot podcast we are using the energy of The Chariot to explore the meaning of spiritual journeys. We'll talk about what they are, what they look like and most importantly, why should we be on them? Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: What would you say are 10 of your flaws? What don't you like about yourself or what habits or behaviours do you have that cause you issues? Prompt 2: What resistance came up when you were writing your flaws? What thoughts came up? Did your mind try and block you from thinking of them? Did it readily offer them up to you for judgement? Write down how it felt to address those flaws. Prompt 3: That resistance will be your ‘why' the reason you need to go on this spiritual journey. So for example, if your mind tried to prevent you from thinking about these things, then you need to go on a journey to find out why it didn't want you to think about those things. If your mind offered them up to you willingly, you need to go on a journey to figure out why it was so willing to give you this information. Once you've analysed this, write down your ‘why' clearly and concisely. Prompt 4: Now you have your why, think about your virtues, your strengths, your skills your positive personality traits. How could those things help you on this journey? Maybe you are a good artist, if so how could creativity play a role in your journey? How could it help you find answers? Spend some time on this and really brainstorm how your positives could help you lift and improve your negatives. This week we're working with the Queen of Pentacles Tarot court card to see how we can better embrace and nurture organic growth. We'll focus on our internal world and how we can find inner peace when the external world spins out of control and work on letting go of control of the things we have no power over. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Let's start with an analysis of your ability to let go of control. It's a big part of allowing for organic growth so here we go. Write down 10 times you have made plans or set goals and the universe has directed you in a completely new or opposite direction. Prompt 2: Go through your list and write down how you coped with this. What did you do instead, how did it feel to have your original plans scuppered by fate? Once you've done that, highlight or mark off how many of those reactions were positive and how many were negative. Prompt 3: Looking at your list again, do you have an abundance of positive or negative reactions to those redirections? If you have an abundance of positive reactions, why do you think you reacted that way? If you have an abundance of negative reactions, why do you feel you had those reactions instead of something more positive or optimistic? Prompt 4: Finally, for any negative reactions write down what positive outcome came from that redirection. So for example, if you had the plan to reach the most senior position at your work but then the company went under and it made you redundant. You probably won't have had an overly positive reaction to that because you just lost your job, but positive outcomes of that might have been that you learned what you did and didn't want from your career. You may have realised you've been in the wrong career all along or you ended up working at a place you love even more because you were forced to look elsewhere by fate. In today's episode, we're being guided by the Nine of Pentacles Tarot card to help us better understand what it means to be in alignment. Together we look at what it feels like to be aligned and what it means when we aren't. As per usual there are a bunch of Tarot journal prompts at the end of this episode so feel free to do them as and when you need to. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: The subconscious audit. Try and visualise what your perfect life would look like. Write down what it feels like, what thoughts come up, and what is it specifically that appeals to you the most about that life? Prompt 2: Pick out the keywords from prompt one around what it is you want from your dream life. Now think about your life right now. Where do you already experience these things? Prompt 3: Thinking about those areas of your current life that already offer you what you desire, how could you advance those things? Could you do more of a certain thing? Could you do less of something else? Are there changes you could make that already feel like the right decision? Prompt 4: Once you've identified those things, start putting together tasks for yourself over the next few weeks. Choose one area to focus on to start with. An example could be that you love to paint because it helps you process emotions and relieve stress, but you rarely get the time to do it. How could you make more time for that? Could you streamline a chore to give you an extra hour, could you make it a priority in your calendar? This week's Self-Care Tarot episode is a big one. Instead of our usual 1-2 Tarot card pulls to guide us, we're using a Tarot structure and theory to help us better understand the meaning of cycles. Using the Fool's Journey we will look into what the Tarot has to say about cycles and how we can use that wisdom in our everyday lives. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Let's start with The fool himself. Write down a time when you were channelling the fool's carefree and risk-free nature. When was the last time you felt that weight lift from your shoulders? When was the last time you felt completely free? Prompt 2: Let's look at your own self-actualisation journey. Write down a time when you have had an idea, whether it's about yourself, a project, a job whatever it is. Write down how that idea came to you, how you moved forward with it, and how making the decision to follow that idea led you to a place of boosted confidence and self-reliance. It could literally be something as simple as learning to drive, starting a new fitness journey etc. Prompt 3: Next, let's try and place you in the second chapter of the cycle. When have you come up against a new challenge or obstacle, how did it change you, how did it change your view on something, and what did you learn from that experience? Were you the same person coming out of this as you were going in? Prompt 4: Finally, take a look at your spiritual journey so far. If you're listening to this podcast then you are on a spiritual journey, there would be no other reason for you to have found me otherwise! What started you on this path? What have your learned about yourself so far? What have you learned about the world so far? What more do you want to learn? In this week's episode of the Self-Care Tarot podcast, we are looking closely at balance. We'll use the guidance of the Two of Pentacles to understand how balance works and how we can make it more effective over time. Listen to hear about why micro-goals and adjustment are more effective than big new year resolutions and why building the foundations of the year ahead is so important in the first few months. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Write down what the new year means to you. Describe how you feel when the new year rolls around. Prompt 2: If you have positive feelings about it, what are they and why do you think you have those feelings? If you have negative feelings, why do you think you have those feelings? Prompt 3: Write down 5 areas of your life that you feel you've been neglecting over the last 12 months. What symptoms or effects have you noticed in your life that could be caused by these imbalances? Why do you think you avoid spending more time and energy on these areas? Prompt 4: Write down 5 areas of your life that you think you put too much energy and time into. Why do you think you prioritise them over the others? What does focusing on those areas offer you? A Saturn Return takes place when we reach our 28th year and tends to last up until we're 30 give or take. However, the repercussions of it can completely alter the rest of your life. In this episode, we use the guidance of The Tower and The World to navigate through a Saturn Return so we can get the most out of this big life shift. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Compartmentalise your life into the following sections. Relationships, Home, Career, Social Life, Spirituality, and Sense of Self. You can do this using a pie chart, columns or some simple headers. In each of those areas write down what you have to lose. What could easily be gone tomorrow? Prompt 2: Next, think about what effect losing that thing would have on you. How would you feel about it? What lessons would that experience teach you? What worries or challenges come up as a result of losing those things? Prompt 3: Now we move on to the reunification of The World card. Think about what could replace those things you've lost. Leave rational thinking at the door, whatever comes to mind write it down. Prompt 4: What would be the pros and cons of replacing those previous things with your new things? What could these new things teach you? How do they make you feel? Do they benefit you or force you to take steps backwards? In this episode of the Self-Care Tarot podcast, we use the guidance of The Hierophant and The High Priestess to look into passive and active spiritual practices. Each can help us create more balance in our spirituality and help us live more intuitive and mindful lives. We explore the differences between The Hierophant Tarot card and The High Priestess to see how their unique energies can inspire us in our own spiritual realm. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Name six things you do to connect with your spirituality and why you do them. How do they make you feel? How do they benefit you? Prompt 2: Take a look at that list and start to split them into passive and active spiritual practices based on what we've just been talking about in the podcast. Prompt 3: Looking at your list, do you have an imbalance? Do you do more active spiritual practices than passive or the other way around? Why do you think that imbalance exists? What does doing one type of practice more than the other bring you? Prompt 4: Finally, write down how you could create more balance in your spiritual practice. How could you be more passive or more active? How could you re-align your intentions behind why you currently do what you do? Are you seeking external validation? Are you afraid of friends and family finding out about your spiritual ideas and only practising passively? Really analyse the ‘why' behind your current intentions and think of ways you could resolve any negative ‘why's'. In this episode, we're combining the energy of the Four of Pentacles and the Two of Swords to help us make decisions for our present selves, which will also help us get onto the right path to become our dream future selves. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: First off, write down a short paragraph around what your life is like now and what your current goals and dream manifestations are. Prompt 2: Next, visualise your dream future self, think about what you're doing, and what habits and routines you have. Write down a second paragraph as that future self, just like you did in the first prompt. Think about what future you's life is like, what their goals are and what they want to manifest. Prompt 3: Create 3 columns. Label the first column as ‘Actions to Take' then label the second column as ‘Present Me' and the third column as ‘Future Me'. In the first column right down all the actions you could take right now to reach your goals. Then right down all the actions future you might take to reach their goals. Finally, take a look at all those actions and place a tick in either the present or future you columns based on if you think it would be the right decision for that version of you to take. If it's not the right decision for that version of you, place an x. Prompt 4: Go through each of the actions you've put down in your table and write down why that action is right for that chosen version of you and why it is wrong for that version of you. This is to help you see why one decision may be right for your future self and why it isn't right for your present self. Today we're working on grounding with the Ace of Pentacles. This Autumn/Winter time of year is the perfect time to create space for more grounding and to also explore new ways of grounding that might offer you a host of new long-term benefits! Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: What are your most prominent worries or concerns right now? Maybe it's about money, family, grief, work, identify what it is that is taking you out of your body and causing you a sense of overwhelm or lack of control over your own life. Prompt 2: Now think about what you need in order to counteract those feelings. What is the complete opposite of thinking about those things? Maybe if you're worried about money, then you need to do something that is not associated with a capitalist world, something that's free to enjoy like a walk in the countryside or going to a museum or art gallery. Prompt 3: Once you know what is needed, what activities and actions become available to you? What comes to mind, write all your ideas down. It can help to do this as an idea tree, especially if you have more than one worry or concern. Prompt 4: Now, commit to doing those things. Block in time in your calendar, make that space for grounding in your life. You need to be the one to action this, time isn't going to appear out of thin air, you have to make this grounding work a priority and commit to it. Today we grab The Hermit Tarot card and start exploring how we can uncover our soul purpose? Do we all have a purpose? How do we figure it out and more importantly, honour that purpose? Together we'll have a look at all these questions and more before ending with our normal Tarot journaling session, this time guided by The Hermit card. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Start by listing five things you do currently that make you feel happiest. What excites you? What brings you a warm fuzzy feeling of joy? What gets your adrenaline pumping? Prompt 2: Looking at those five things, what patterns do you see that run across all of them? There is no pattern or theme too flimsy so dig deep. Even if it feels like you're reaching to find a connection, write it all down. Prompt 3: Looking at those patterns and themes, create lists for each around why those themes and patterns are important to you. Why is it important that you feel a certain way? That you make others feel a certain way? What is the value in those themes? Prompt 4: Finally, start to pick out those reasons ‘why' behind your themes and patterns and build a list of core values. It's time to create some serious changes with the Eight of Swords and the Four of Cups. In this episode we're looking at paradigm shifts and how it can feed limiting beliefs that keep you from achieving your full potential. Start to make sustainable and impactful change today! Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Think about your biggest goal that you want to work on right now. What limiting beliefs do you find coming up and what evidence does your mind give you as to why those beliefs are true? Prompt 2: Once you have those beliefs, start to look for counter-evidence. What experiences have you had or even witnessed others having, that go against your limiting beliefs? Prompt 3: Think about the big changes you've made that haven't yielded the results you were hoping for. What didn't go to plan? Did any of those limiting beliefs play a part? Try and read between the lines. See underneath the veil and look at it from every angle. Find the truth. Prompt 4: If you could go back and do things differently, what would you do? How would you tackle those limiting beliefs in those moments? How would that have changed the outcome do you think? As we head towards Samhain/Halloween it's time to start wrapping up this year's cycle and doing some last-minute clearouts. In this episode, we're using the Tarot cards Judgement and the Seven of Pentacles to see how we can ready ourselves for evolution and dispel mindsets of completely new beginnings. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Right down all the things you have achieved this year and what results you saw from those achievements. Make a note as to whether those results were positive or negative. Often we see achievement as being automatically positive, but we can achieve something and have it not work out, so we need to be able to see the whole picture. Prompt 2: Take a look at all of the negative results and think about whether you're still carrying them with you. Maybe you got a new job but it wasn't what you'd thought it would be, but instead of finding a new job, you feel obligated to stick it out because you worked hard for it. If you are still carrying them, what could you do to let them go before the new year? Prompt 3: Look at the positive results you wrote down, are you still carrying those with you? If not why not and how could you reconnect with these results? If you are, what could you do to evolve these results and turn them into something even better? Prompt 4: Finally, write a letter to yourself promising yourself that you will let go of what is no longer serving you and detail what those things are, and how you will open yourself to the evolution of what you have gained that does serve you and list those. Then I want you to fold the letter up, seal it with wax, a sticker or pop it in an envelope and this time next year open it up and compare it to the year you've had. When was the last time you took some mental respite? We look at why and how we can take a mental break with the Four of Swords Tarot card as I prepare to take one of the longest holidays I've had for years. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: We'll start by identifying those internal conflicts. Think about taking a really long holiday. Stepping back from all responsibilities. How does that feel? What worries, fears or concerns start to come up? Write them all down. Prompt 2: Looking at those resistant energies, what do you think they are protecting you from? What do you think they are trying to maintain? For a minute, forget about seeing these things as a barrier, think of them as positives, how do they benefit you? Prompt 3: Once you've identified how those fears and worries are trying to benefit you, think about how you can soothe them. What can you say to them that will ease the fear, to make you feel safe, happy, loved? Prompt 4: Start planning some time to take mental respite. Get out your calendar or planner and book some ‘me time' within the 30-days. You can take as much or as little time as you like, just book it in. If you feel those conflicting thoughts and feelings popping up again, step back and listen and respond to them. Then get back to planning. It's time to connect with the higher self with The High Priestess Tarot card. We look at what it takes to start clearing a path towards the higher and authentic selves and why it's so important to form that connection. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: List 20 things you want to accomplish in your life. Your bucket list if you will. It doesn't matter if you have a deadline for it or not, just get them all down on paper. You may think ‘I don't have 20 things I want to do' but I promise you there will be something, even something minuscule like being able to afford to shop at Waitrose every week. Prompt 2: Go through each of those points above and detail why you want to achieve that thing and underneath that, say why you think and feel like you can't, shouldn't or are unlikely to. Prompt 3: Now, look at the reason why you want to do the thing and then look at the reason you ‘can't' do the thing. What lies in the empty space between the two? What would need to be done to overcome the reason you've listed for why you can't? Is the reason why you can't bigger than the reason why you want to? Really analyse both points and then write down a way you could 100% achieve that goal. This week we're getting some good old-fashioned Tarot coaching with the Five of Pentacles Tarot card. Explore how you can find strength and empowerment in even the worst situations. We use the Five of Pentacles to not find positivity in a bad situation, but acceptance, level-headedness and personal power so we can work through it with minimal damage. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: First, write down a situation or challenge you are currently facing that makes you feel lost, alone, confused, or hard done to. Be as detailed as possible and make sure to also write down how it makes you feel, what it makes you think about the world and maybe even yourself. Prompt 2: Now we're going to apply that lens. Where can you see the Five of Pentacles reflected in that situation? How might you be victimising yourself where you don't need to? What is that shining church window for you? What fears are this situation playing on? What worries is it bringing to life? Prompt 3: Now write about your situation again, but with those new insights leading the way. How are you now seeing this situation differently, how does it feel now you're looking at it using this new perspective? In this episode, we use the Three of Pentacles Tarot card to look at how we can open ourselves up to more growth. We'll chat about having humility when it comes to being a novice, exploring our own need for control and independence and finally top it all off with some Three of Pentacles Tarot journaling prompts. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Write down three times you have sought guidance, support or help from an external source. How did it feel to reach out for that help? What internal resistance did you come against during that time? Prompt 2: Looking at your answers from that first prompt, how did this external support help you and shape you into who you are today? What do you have or what have you achieved that you wouldn't have been able to if you'd tried to do it on your own? Prompt 3: Review your life right now. Using the Ten of Swords Tarot card to rebuild. What a way to follow up last week's Tower episode! Today, we're going to be picking up the pieces and figuring out just how we pick ourselves up after a devastating fall. How do we recover mentally and pick out the positive aspects of a negative situation? Listen and work through the Ten of Swords Tarot journal prompts to get stuck into this card's unique guidance. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Identify those swords. Write down Sword 1, Sword 2, Sword 3 etc. until you get to Sword 10. Leave space beneath each for the next prompt. Then, next to each, label the sword. What could that sword represent? You may not need to label all 10 swords but try and complete the list. The deeper you dig, the more you'll uncover. Prompt 2: Now, underneath each of those swords, write down how you could ‘remove' that sword and what would happen if that sword was removed. So how could you overcome, work through or fight back against what that sword presents? What will happen if you do manage to overcome that particular sword? Prompt 3: Now that you've removed all those swords, write down what opportunities, paths and experiences will be open to you now. How has this changed how you see the future? How do you feel? What ideas, goals and dreams start to arise? This week we look at The Tower Tarot card and how it can help us better understand some of our most confusing emotions and accept the things we really don't want to accept. This is by far my favourite podcast so far! We really deep dive into how the brain works and how The Tower can be a positive force within our inner work. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Identify - Think of a time in your life when everything felt like it was falling apart. Write down what you felt, what you were afraid of, and what was it like going through that? Prompt 2: Analyse - Highlight any key words that pop up in that entry. What feelings and thoughts really stand out to you? Now think about why you might have had those thoughts and feelings. What was it protecting you from, trying to get you to do, what comfort zone was it trying to return you to and why? Prompt 3: Empathise - Write a letter to yourself empathising with what you felt at that time. Write it as though you were replying to a friend who wrote the entry in prompt 1. What would you tell them, how would you comfort them and reassure them? Prompt 4: Accept - Now it's time to accept what was never meant to be. Finish the sentence “I accept…” based on all the things you've uncovered in the previous prompts. You can do this as many times as you like. You might even have a list of ten sentences all starting with the words “I accept”. Together we'll talk about why it's so hard to acknowledge our own achievements and how we can start celebrating them properly. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Let's start on a high. Write down 10 things that make you feel proud of yourself. There's no time frame for these, so really look back over your life so far. Prompt 2: What things make you feel empowered, confident and excited? Make a list and keep going until you start to draw a blank. Prompt 3: Out of that list from prompt 2, what could you include more of in your life? Have you let any habits slip that could help you boost your self-esteem? Could you make any changes to accommodate more of those things you've listed? Prompt 4: Finally, write down your next big goal and underneath fill in the blanks of this affirmation. I am powerful, I am capable and I am worthy to/of … the universe has my back and I am charged and ready to make this my reality. People-pleasing may not seem like a negative habit most of the time, but it can often lead to big consequences that put our happiness and wellbeing in danger. In this episode we're looking at how we can tackle the habit of people-pleasing using The Lovers Tarot card, listening to its guidance around connection and authenticity to help boost confidence and set boundaries. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Identify 5 times where you have done something you didn't want to do or pushed yourself beyond your limits, just to keep someone else happy. Prompt 2: What were you afraid of in those moments? What was the worst that could have happened if you hadn't done the thing, or only half-arsed it? Prompt 3: Look at what you've written in the above prompt, how realistic are those ‘what ifs'? Do you have any past experiences that back up those fears and concerns? Prompt 4: How would it have benefitted you in that moment, if you had done what you needed to do or done what felt more aligned to you? Don't think about the reactions of others, think about how you would have felt, what you would have been able to do. Imposter syndrome is something that can plague even the most accomplished of us, so using the Seven of Swords Tarot card, we'll look at how we can start to dismantle it. Knowing how to tackle imposter syndrome when it rears up is essential for being a successful entrepreneur, creative or just generally an awesome human so have a listen and see how you can start saying no to imposter syndrome. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Write down one thing that is currently making you feel like an imposter. It may be something you're aiming for it may be something you've just achieved. Whatever it is, make it your focus for this session. Prompt 2: Take a look at that statement and pick out the key reasonings behind your statement. Why do you feel like an imposter? What do you feel you don't have that others do? What are you afraid of? Prompt 3: Review your answers to prompt 2 and start to think about any evidence you have to back up your reasonings. Cold hard evidence, not thoughts or beliefs you have about yourself, actual evidence. Prompt 4: Now rewire that imposter syndrome by finding evidence and reasons why you're not a fraud and fill in blanks in the sentences below. You can choose whichever sentence best suits your needs or try a mix of all three, repeat them if you need to. I can… because I have… I can… because I am… I can… because I can… I deserve… because I… I should be proud of myself because… Get connected: Join the community & get weekly podcast updates and exclusives: https://view.flodesk.com/pages/6256df9569d304440734a91 Get a 1:1 Tarot reading with me: https://theselfcareemporium.com/tarot-reading Get the Self-Care Tarot Workbook: https://theselfcareemporium.com/esoteric-courses-and-workbooks/tarot-for-self-care-workbook-digital-copy Shop metaphysical tools: https://theselfcareemporium.com/shop-categories Access the free resource section, The Grimoire: https://theselfcareemporium.com/the-grimoire-free-resources Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theselfcareemporium/ Email: info@theselfcareemporium.com
Welcome to The Self-Care Tarot podcast with me Cat Crawford. A podcast that uses Tarot to delve a little deeper into self-exploration, enhance your journaling and aid with spiritual development. This week we're using the guidance of the Knight of Cups Tarot card to help us better connect, trust and follow our intuitive compass. We all have intuition but not all of us take the time to listen to it or explore the direction it's pointing us in. We'll use the support of the Knight of cups to chat about what intuition is, what it feels like and how you can start to trust your intuitive compass more. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Think of a goal you're trying to achieve right now. Write it down in your journal and then underneath write about how that goal makes you feel. Do you feel frustrated? Excited? Does there feel like there's a lot of empty space between you and the goal? Does it feel within touching distance? Really start to settle into the energy that is created when you bring that goal forward. Prompt 2: If you could take one single step towards that big dream goal right now, what would that step be? Prompt 3: Taking into account where you are in this present moment, whether it's physically, emotionally, or spiritually, what is stopping you from being able to take that step and are these blocks caused by external energies or are they self-created e.g. self-limiting beliefs etc. Prompt 4: Imagine someone else has come to you and explained that those blocks are standing in their way to achieving their goal, what solutions could you suggest to them? Write them all down and then review them, pay attention to your body when you read them back to yourself, do any of these solutions feel like they have a stronger pull than the others? Do any of them just seem like the right solution but you've no facts to back it up? Really feel your way through the list. Welcome to The Self-Care Tarot podcast with me Cat Crawford. A podcast that uses Tarot to delve a little deeper into self-exploration, enhance your journaling and aid with spiritual development. Mercury Retrograde is here again and to help you navigate this often difficult time I thought we could work together with the Eight of Cups Tarot card to better understand how to use this energy productively. Mercury Retrograde doesn't have to be a time we dread, it can be an opportunity to retreat and allow ourselves to level up. So come with me on this journey with the Eight of Cups and this Mercury Retrograde! Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Reflect - Start by meditating on the past few months and highlighting key events during that period that have had an impact on you. Write them all down and go into detail about those events, what were they? How did they affect you? How did they make you feel? Prompt 2: Review - Go back to what you wrote down in prompt 1 and start to work into those answers and points. Think about why those things needed to happen to you. Think about whether you're still holding onto them and whether you really need to or not. Consider how you're still feeling the impact of those events and whether they are motivating you or anchoring you. Prompt 3: Refresh - Go back over prompt two and identify the things you don't want to carry forward. What things did you identify as no longer having any value in your life? Now choose a way to let go of those things. I like to do burning rituals where I write things on paper and burn them in a heatproof dish, or you could do a cord cutting where you meditate with a piece of string, channelling all those things into the string and then cutting your ties to them. There are loads of ways you can let go of these, just choose whatever feels most freeing to you. Welcome to The Self-Care Tarot podcast with me Cat Crawford. A podcast that uses Tarot to delve a little deeper into self-exploration, enhance your journaling and aid with spiritual development. This week we're looking at how we can be our best philosophical selves with the guidance of The Hierophant tarot card. We'll use The Hierophant's divine guidance to expand our train of thought and break out of our traditional way of thinking. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Sit somewhere where you won't be disturbed and just sit there for about 2-3 mins. Then pick something either an object that is in the room with you, a sound that you can hear, a smell that's wafting in from wherever, the feel of the carpet or bed linen underneath you. Pick something that you would normally see as insignificant and not pay any mind to. Write it down. Prompt 2: Write down any words, phrases, thoughts etc. that come to mind when you think about that thing, do a big brain dump onto the page and get everything out there. What memories do you have that might include that thing, does it remind you of anything else? When was the very first time you encountered that thing, really let the mind conjure as much as possible. Prompt 3: Now, think about that thing's place in the world. When was it invented (if it's an object), why does it exist? What is its purpose? How has it changed the world? Who else has experienced this, what reaction might they have had? Is this thing something that could disappear in 10-20 years' time? Has it always been in the world or will it have a clear beginning and an end? Keep asking as many questions as you can think of and follow any train of thought that might pop up when you think of an answer for something. Welcome to The Self-Care Tarot podcast with me Cat Crawford. A podcast that uses Tarot to delve a little deeper into self-exploration, enhance your journaling and aid with spiritual development. This week we're working with the Three of Wands Tarot card and how it can help us reach our goals without fear, anxiety or self-doubt. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: First of all, get really clear about why you want your goal. It helps to write that goal down at the top of your page first so you've got it fresh in your mind. Underneath your goal, write down why you want this thing. How will it benefit you? What will it offer you? How will it improve your life or help you to grow? Prompt 2: Next, it's time to find that self-belief. Write down all the things that you've already achieved to get to this point. Sometimes it can also help to set it out like a timeline, writing all the little goals and big goals you've achieved. So for example, if I was talking about my business, I might start with finding wholesalers for my shop products, tick that's the first goal I achieved. Then the next one might be setting up my website, boom another one done. Something else that can be really helpful when doing this is listing the skills or abilities you had to show in order to achieve that thing, so if I go back to starting my website, I had to know exactly what I needed from a hosting provider, I needed SEO knowledge, I needed some HTML and CSS knowledge so I could customise my template, I needed knowledge of price points and profit margins and on and on it could go. Give yourself the credit you deserve! Prompt 3: Now we reach the fiery apex of the Three of Wands, the action plan. I want you to plan out the next three months of your big crazy goal. Make tiny weekly goals that get you to a bigger monthly goal and set monthly goals that take you closer and closer to that massive end goal. When you first start with this exercise, those small tiny goals always seem completely pointless, but if they are in service of the bigger goals, you'll soon start to realise just how important those baby steps are. Welcome to The Self-Care Tarot podcast with me Cat Crawford. A podcast that uses Tarot to delve a little deeper into self-exploration, enhance your journaling and aid with spiritual development. We're back in the welcoming arms of the major arcana this week with the Strength card, a major card that I will admit, I can find a little boring but writing this episode and pulling together these journal prompts for you guys has given me a whole new perspective on it. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Make a bullet point list of ways you think you have not shown inner strength or power. I'd aim for 3-4 bullet points for this exercise, just so we can maintain focus! Prompt 2: Next, look at that list and flip them on their heads. How could you reframe those things? Where can you find glimpses of strength hidden underneath the self-doubt? An example may be that you've written ‘I didn't pass my driving test the first time' but your prompt two reframe point may be ‘but I booked another test straight after and kept going until I did pass'. I say this from experience because it took me four times to pass my driving test and I never ever wish to go through it again. We're trying to expand our field of view so we don't just see the negative! Prompt 3: Now think about how the points in prompt 1 make you feel. What emotions come up when you wrote down those points. Where do you think those emotions are coming from? What's your why around feeling those emotions in particular. So if we go back to the driving test example, I was in tears when I didn't pass my test the first time and if I think about why I was so upset, it's more to do with the fact that some of my friends passed theirs first time so I felt like a failure and I felt like a failure because I had always had a feeling of being an outcast and this appeared to reaffirm my fears. That may seem like I'm making it deeper than it is, but often things are a lot deeper than they first seem. Prompt 4: To finish things off, I want you to do the same as above but for your prompt two answers, so this time assess how you felt when you experienced those moments of strength and inner power. As a bonus, turn those feelings and evidence of strength and inner power into affirmations by finishing these three sentences: I am… I have the ability to… I am more than capable of… Get connected: Join the community & get weekly podcast updates and exclusives: https://view.flodesk.com/pages/6256df9569d304440734a91 Get a 1:1 Tarot reading with me: https://theselfcareemporium.com/tarot-reading Get the Self-Care Tarot Workbook: https://theselfcareemporium.com/esoteric-courses-and-workbooks/tarot-for-self-care-workbook-digital-copy Shop metaphysical tools: https://theselfcareemporium.com/shop-categories Access the free resource section, The Grimoire: https://theselfcareemporium.com/the-grimoire-free-resources Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theselfcareemporium/ Email: info@theselfcareemporium.com
Welcome to The Self-Care Tarot podcast with me Cat Crawford. A podcast that uses Tarot to delve a little deeper into self-exploration, enhance your journaling and aid with spiritual development. We're officially in the throws of spring! The blossoms are blooming, there's new life everywhere and we're starting to feel a bit more in the swing of things. But, if you're feeling a bit lacklustre and struggling to get yourself motivated to make the most of the rest of this year, then this episode is the one for you. This week on The Self-Care Tarot podcast we're looking at the Eight of Wands and how we can use its guidance to assess our motivation levels and habits, to see if there's any room for improvement. We'll look at the many different factors that need to be taken into account when thinking about our energy levels and how we can create our own unique forms of motivation. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Identify why you are finding it hard to self-motivate. A good way of doing that is by finishing the sentence ‘I don't want to do X because…' or ‘I'm struggling to do X because…' sometimes just putting things into context on paper can help you pinpoint those reasons you need to work on. Prompt 2: Identify what your obstacles are? Take a look at how you've finished the sentence above and isolate those things as your obstacles that you need to overcome. It may be that you've got a sentence such as ‘I don't want to do my accounts because I'm scared I'll do something wrong' in which case your obstacle is that you don't trust yourself to know what you're doing, or the task at hand is beyond your skill level. Another example may be that you have a sentence such as ‘I'm struggling to create a business plan because I always feel exhausted whenever I get time to do it' in which case your exhaustion and lack of time or time management is your obstacle. Prompt 3: In this final prompt, think about what solutions you could create in order to overcome those obstacles. For example, what could you do to ease your accounting fears? Could you take a course? Hire a professional? Invest in some accountancy software to make your life easier? Looking at that final example from before, your solution may be to carve out some time when you know you have enough energy to work on that business plan or prioritize it before your other tasks so you can get it all sorted. Welcome to The Self-Care Tarot podcast with me Cat Crawford. A podcast that uses Tarot to delve a little deeper into self-exploration, enhance your journaling and aid with spiritual development. This week on The Self-Care Tarot podcast, we're working with The Empress Tarot card and allowing her to guide us through the idea of letting go in order to attract. Together we chat about why creating energetic space is so important for manifesting and how we can start to let go of a tight grip on our dreams, in order to allow them to grow and thrive. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Write down something you have been holding onto for a while, what is it, why is it so important to you? Prompt 2: What would happen if you let go, where would it leave you? How would you feel, what would your life look like, what situation/s might you have to deal with? Prompt 3: If you did let go and create that space in your life, what could fill that space? What alternative scenarios would be possible and what could you give that energy to instead? Prompt 4: Scripting, write a day in the life now that you've let go of that thing, how do you feel what happens, what are you spending your time on? Think about all those possibilities from prompt 3 and make them a reality with this scripting exercise. The Self-Care Tarot podcast will be back on the 10th of April for season 2! Welcome to The Self-Care Tarot podcast with me Cat Crawford. A podcast that uses Tarot to delve a little deeper into self-exploration, enhance your journaling and aid with spiritual development. In the penultimate episode of season one of The Self-Care Tarot Podcast, we're looking at the Eight of Pentacles Tarot card and how it can help us better celebrate all the things we've already achieved and built for ourselves. Often we don't take enough time to sit with how far we've already come, instead, we're always looking to the next thing and then the next, so the Eight of Pentacles can be used to help us be more mindful of the world we've worked so hard to build, so we can better appreciate the things we are capable of. In this episode, I spoke a bit about KPI's or key performance indicators. These are measurements by which you can track your progress and development in which ever way suits you. Some common KPI's are: Amount of user traffic that visits your business website The number of social media followers you have Professional grading e.g. in an instrument, sport etc. Monthly income Amount of sales in your online shop Anything that you can use to see forward movement! Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Create a brain dump of everything you've ever achieved in your life and don't hold back. Go right back to when you learned to walk if you have to. If there's something specific that you want to focus on, for example, if you started a business, use that and go right back to the very beginning of that journey, maybe even before and write all wins down, even tiny ones. Prompt 2: Next, write down all the ways you knew that you'd achieved those things. What defines those things as a ‘win' for you? What is it that told you that you had achieved that thing? We're trying to identify your performance indicators here so that we can better assess what it is you use to gauge your achievements. Prompt 3: Next, write down all the skills you've gained throughout those achievements. Make a note of where you started and create a timeline of growth, making notes in chronological order of how your skills developed and how you knew they had reached the next level at the time. Prompt 4: Yep we've got an extra prompt this week! Finally, create a KPI document, this means a key performance indicator document. All my marketing professionals will probably know what this is already, but it is basically a document that tracks your achievements and progress. Welcome to The Self-Care Tarot podcast with me Cat Crawford. A podcast that uses Tarot to delve a little deeper into self-exploration, enhance your journaling and aid with spiritual development. Burnout is increasingly common and often it can happen to us without us even seeing it coming. This is where the Knight of Pentacles Tarot card can be used, to help us slow things down, be more methodical and achieve our biggest goals in the healthiest way possible. The Knight of Pentacles gives us a window into our own habits and routines and helps us to see where we're being too hasty and working with this Tarot card can allow us to be more mindful of how much energy we give to our ambitious desires. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: Write down your biggest goal for this year and note when you want to achieve it by, what deadline have you given to this goal? Also write why this goal means so much to you, what's your motivation for wanting to achieve this thing? Prompt 2: Imagine something has happened that means that it is impossible for you to achieve this goal any sooner than 12-months from now, how can you still work towards it every month or even weekly? What can you do to take baby steps towards that final deadline day? Prompt 3: Review the steps you noted down above. Be honest with yourself, do they look more manageable spread out over 12-months than they would be over just a few weeks or a couple of months? If you forced yourself to try and achieve all those baby steps in one go do you think you'd be overwhelmed? Prompt 4: This one may be a biggy so give yourself extra time. Write down your big goal again but use your answers from prompt 3 to determine whether your original deadline was too hasty, then write down a more manageable and realistic deadline that you think you could handle. An added option is to then get granular and put pen to paper marking off deadline dates on calendars and in diaries, setting yourself clear tasks and plotting out all the key baby goals that will get you to your big goal. Welcome to The Self-Care Tarot podcast with me Cat Crawford. A podcast that uses Tarot to delve a little deeper into self-exploration, enhance your journaling and aid with spiritual development. This week we're joined by The Wheel of Fortune to take a little look at our relationship with divine timing and how we can build our trust and feel supported by the universe. Divine timing is a pretty straightforward concept, everything happens for a reason and it happens when it is supposed to happen, and yet it is a very hard thing for us to accept and trust. Using The Wheel of Fortune tarot card, we'll explore how we can start to build that trust with divine timing and find our own way of releasing control and letting what will be, be. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: When has something you really wanted led to disappointment and what happened after that? Did you get something better, realise something about yourself or your situation? How did it spark a transformation or change? Prompt 2: Looking back on these situations from prompt 1, how have these experiences shaped who you are today? What wouldn't you have now if you hadn't been dealt that Wheel of Fortune energy? Prompt 3: Again dipping back into your answers in prompt 1, what comfort zones did it push you out of? Where would you be now if everything had stayed the same? Welcome to The Self-Care Tarot podcast with me Cat Crawford. A podcast that uses Tarot to delve a little deeper into self-exploration, enhance your journaling and aid with spiritual development. This is an episode that I really excited about putting out into the world because I think it's something that affects us all more and more as time goes on. The Hanged Man is often seen as one of the 'Scary Cards' of the Tarot, but it's actually one of my favourite Tarot cards to work with. It's the ultimate card of growth and transformation and it can help you level up to the person you're meant to be. The concept of suspension and of pressing pause is one that we may not even realise we have an unhealthy relationship with, so this week we're going to be fully embracing The Hanged Man energy in order to better understand our own relationship with this idea and how that relationship may be a hindrance or a help to our lives. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: When you think of being suspended right now where you are, what feelings come up? Are you ok with it or do you feel a sense of panic? Prompt 2: What worries and concerns arise from this idea of stopping where you are right now? Prompt 3: Why don't you want to stay where you are right now? What pros and cons would come from not making progress for a while? Welcome to The Self-Care Tarot podcast with me Cat Crawford. A podcast that uses Tarot to delve a little deeper into self-exploration, enhance your journaling and aid with spiritual development. The Seven of Wands is a fiery defensive energy that can be used for both good and bad. Sometimes it can serve our best interests and sometimes it can be an obstacle in our way. This week we're looking at the theme of defensiveness and protecting our energy to figure out how the Seven of Wands can help us to protect our dreams, values and beliefs both from our own limiting beliefs and the negativity of others. Journal Prompts ‘Where am I currently feeling protective or defensive? What is it I'm trying to protect? Who am I trying to protect this from? Is it myself, others, society? In this prompt, we are trying to figure out why this Seven of Wands energy has appeared and whether it is warranted, or a reaction based on a deeply rooted fear or belief. Finally, do I need to fully embrace the Seven of Wands energy or do I need to temper it? Is it really what I need right now or is it actually causing another obstacle in my way? We need to understand when the Seven of Wands energy is useful to us because it isn't always what we need sometimes it's an impulse we didn't even know was there. These prompts are here to help you get better acquainted with this type of energy and how it manifests within yourself and in your own life. It's all about building self-awareness so we can take the right course of action. This week we're setting out to explore the Air of Air, the King of Swords, the strategist of thought and mental power. In order to attract our deepest desires and manifest all those amazing goodies, we have to be able to focus our energies into the right areas and that's how we're working with the King of Swords this week. There's a lot of guidance and motivation that can be found in this card, but also a lot of mindfulness and compassion that needs to be considered in order for the King of Swords to do his job in the best way possible. Welcome to The Self-Care Tarot podcast with me Cat Crawford. A podcast that uses Tarot to delve a little deeper into self-exploration, enhance your journaling and aid with spiritual development. This week we are working with the Two of Swords and looking at how these focused and meditative card can help us form a stronger and healthier bond with our inner voice. Often our inner voice can be framed as an opposing force to what we're trying to achieve, something to overcome in order to get what we want, however, amazing things can happen if we simply take the time to pause and listen to what it's saying. Journal prompts for this episode Spend some time writing down all the things your inner voice says to you about a specific desire, goal or dream. You can do this before or after a meditation session, or even do this throughout the day. Next, take those things your inner voice has said to you and start to think about why it might be saying those things. What risks is it trying to keep you from, what intentions could it have for presenting you with these thoughts? Really spend some time sitting with each thing and thinking as deeply as possible around the reasoning behind each one. After you've done that work, what could you say to soothe those worries or concerns? Or what facts could you present to your inner voice to debunk false beliefs? Open a two-way dialogue with your inner voice and treat it like a conversation you would have with a third party. What compromises could you come up with and how would they benefit you moving forwards? What has become of that open dialogue you have with your inner voice? How do you feel about it?
