Welcome to the Positive Mindset podcast, where we come together to raise our vibration, lift our perspective, and build a positive mindset. I'm Henry, and in this episode, we delve into the powerful mindset shift that can help you manifest your desired future. In this episode, I share a perspective that has been inspiring and transformative for me. I've introduced the concept of "Future Me," a version of myself that exists a few years later. Future Me has our desired appearance, possessions, mindset, and achievements. You can envision future Me as a genie, constantly painting the future you want with a paintbrush in hand. By expanding our ability to envision and create, we open ourselves to greater possibilities. When we can see the desired outcome, we can navigate through challenges with a sense of purpose and create positive outcomes from difficult situations. We are not limited by our past, others' opinions, or our own self-doubts. We have the power to choose who we want to become and actively create our reality. We are going to do a guided meditation exercise to bring future Me into your mind, allowing you to tap into the power of your higher self. By connecting with this version of yourself, you can paint a vivid picture of your desired future, empowering yourself to make choices in alignment with that vision. Remember, you are a creator and an observer. The more you observe and create positive thoughts and actions, the more you attract positivity into your life. The path forward will reveal itself by focusing on your destination and who you need to become. If you resonate with this episode, please leave a comment and share it with others. Your engagement not only means the world to me, but it also helps spread this powerful message of positivity and personal growth. Together, let's create a rising tide that lifts all ships. To stay updated on future episodes, subscribe to my email list, and follow me on social media. Welcome, Habit Thrivers, to week 2 of Whole Heart Living here on the Habit Thrive Podcast. Last week, I asked what whole heart living means to you. Did you get a chance to think about it? Sometimes, we find ourselves focused on one aspect of our heart. A yearly visit to our doctor has us thinking about our physical heart. A death in the family has us focused on our emotional heart. The beginning of a new chapter of our lives has us thinking about our “Future Me” heart. But we also can find ourselves drawn to all three of these at the same time, our focus and energy pouring from one to the other and blending them every day into a life of whole-hearted living. When you think about it in this way, the idea of keeping all aspects of your heart healthy may seem challenging. But one way that we can take control of our heart health is with a simple yet powerful tool: Our breath. Breath exercises bring peace to calm the emotion of our heart, gently massage our physical heart and are an excellent partner to meditation that can bring clarity for our “Future Me” heart. So get comfy and join me today on Episode #33 for a chat and a breathing exercise. Your heart will thank you! Lorrie xoxox Loving the show? Let's connect! In this episode, we're combining the energy of the Four of Pentacles and the Two of Swords to help us make decisions for our present selves, which will also help us get onto the right path to become our dream future selves. Tarot Journal Prompts Prompt 1: First off, write down a short paragraph around what your life is like now and what your current goals and dream manifestations are. Prompt 2: Next, visualise your dream future self, think about what you're doing, and what habits and routines you have. Write down a second paragraph as that future self, just like you did in the first prompt. Think about what future you's life is like, what their goals are and what they want to manifest. Prompt 3: Create 3 columns. Label the first column as ‘Actions to Take' then label the second column as ‘Present Me' and the third column as ‘Future Me'. In the first column right down all the actions you could take right now to reach your goals. Then right down all the actions future you might take to reach their goals. Finally, take a look at all those actions and place a tick in either the present or future you columns based on if you think it would be the right decision for that version of you to take. If it's not the right decision for that version of you, place an x. Prompt 4: Go through each of the actions you've put down in your table and write down why that action is right for that chosen version of you and why it is wrong for that version of you. This is to help you see why one decision may be right for your future self and why it isn't right for your present self. It's easier to keep doing what we're doing and stay stuck. Making changes is hard, much harder. We all want the easy road, so we choose to stay stuck. If nothing changes, nothing changes. Ask yourself how happy you are with your current circumstances. Spoiler alert, you wouldn't be listening to this podcast if you were completely content with the way things are going. We're afraid of the unknown which is really a fear of failure (me trying out for Annie)Accept that there will be fear with change. Expect it, invite it in. Dance with the fear, whisper in his ear that you know he'll always be there, but you're choosing a new partner called courage. If you're a writer, write a letter to fear, and without giving it too much thought, let fear respond. See this exercise from Elizabeth Gilbert. To minimize fear, take tiny steps, bite-sized steps. When I thought about starting a podcast, I got overwhelmed with the big picture, it was too big and too scary. Instead of focusing on cover art, music, photo, social media, recording a trailer, buying a microphone, etc, I recorded a trailer. Take it one step at a time. Expect fear to be there for each step. Give him a nod and keep movin'. We'd have only ourselves to blame if things didn't go right. As long as we play it safe and don't act, we can keep blaming others for us being stuck. We can blame our circumstances, our kids, our spouse, etc. My mom dreamt of dancing in high heel tap shoes. She didn't blame not being able to do this at her age, having three kids, or a full-time job as a teacher, she signed up for class, bought her shoes, and tapped away. Friends and family expect us to be a certain way and to do things a certain way. If we change, we might disappoint them. An example is the Biggest Loser contestant who felt like he was leaving his mother behind after he lost a lot of weight. He felt her disapproval, so he gained the weight back. We're the average of the 5 people we spend the most time with, so decide who you want in your front row. Decide who you're going to let influence your decisions. Decide who you want to surround yourself with and ultimately, decide if this is your life you're living or theirs. The #1 regret of the dying is that they didn't live life on their own terms. They lived it on others' terms. We hold off doing things NOW because we think we can always do them LATER. We assume we can wait on our dreams. We put them off. How often do you hear about people who retire and within 6 months they have a stroke or develop cancer and never get a chance to live out their dream retirement? Write a letter to your future self at www.futureme.org Watch Jerry Seinfeld describe the two conflicting selves (he uses "Morning Guy" and "Night Guy" but you can substitute Future Me and Present Me.
