Nick Riewoldt and Joey Montagna respond to Caro's Elephant in the Room from Footy Classified last night about him not being at the Hall of Fame last week. Are Essendon living in a false-economy? Joey isn't reading too much into it. Port Adelaide are teetering in a precarious position with Ken Hinkley continuing to coach and lead the team, if it goes pear-shaped then the end might come sooner than we all thought. -------- Add the show to your favourites on LiSTNR: https://listnr.com/podcasts/footy-talk-australian-rules-podcast Listen on Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/footy-talk-daily-australian-rules-podcast/id1673652644 Listen on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1q5RUW2KTONUoP8KF3ZZHY?si=6798bf7f4a1540be See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

A member of the AFL's Indigenous Team of the Century, Bill Dempsey was inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame this week. Dempsey, a member of the Stolen Generation, overcame significant hardship to establish a fabulous playing career over 18 seasons as a player in WA and the Northern Territory. Those who had the good fortune to meet him during those events could not help but be captivated by his presence. If spinning a yarn was a competitive sport, he would have represented Australia. Dempsey was a dominant player for West Perth over 17 seasons, but what made that all the more impressive was that for the first 10 seasons of his WAFL career, he returned home to Darwin every summer to play in the local competition for his beloved Buffaloes. He never enjoyed an off-season. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Paul Roos is an icon of the Australian Football League (AFL).Roosy played 356 VFL/AFL Games, was x7 All Australian (91’ and 92’ as Captain), x5 Best & Fairest winner, Fitzroy Team of the Century member, AFL Hall of Fame inductee and Sydney Swans Premiership Coach in 2005.In this episode of DREAMS into SUCCESS we discuss the importance of building relationships, being vulnerable, developing self-awareness and how to be a good leader (both in a sporting organisation and in the business world).Roosy talks about his coaching experience, the fond memories of coaching the Sydney Swans to a Premiership victory in 2005, breaking a 72-year drought for the Club.
