Val Kilmer dead at 65 , Tommy Chong (alive at 86) joins us before Hash Bash, Detroit Tigers broadcaster Andy Dirks preps us for Opening Day, Cory Booker's vanity record, Elon Musk leaving Doge, and Blake Lively still can't win. Joe DePugh, the high school pitcher who threw "speedballs" and inspired Bruce Springsteen's ‘Glory Days,' dies at 75. RIP Val Kilmer. Gone too soon at 65. We remember some of his classic roles in The Doors, Tombstone, Real Genius, Batman, Willow, At First Sight, Top Gun, and MacGruber. The documentary Val is available on Amazon Prime and well worth your time. Val Kilmer had quite the team photo of woman. Corey Booker's new record is stupid and pointless. Virginia Guiffrey Roberts is down to one day left to live. She was in court 10 days ago for breaching a restraining order. Do most citizens in Canada own a firearm? Drew has a lot of Canadian gun questions. Netflix has a new documentary on the Gilgo Beach killer called "Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer. Some people are saying it focuses too much on the victim's families. The murders might have been solved faster if it wasn't for the ex-Suffolk County DA and the ex-police chief. Are there any non-criminal reasons someone would need a burner phone or military style body armor? Tommy Chong joins us as he prepares to come to town for Astronomicon. Tommy tells us stories of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, his erratic podcasting schedule, surviving the soCal wildfires, the passing of Val Kilmer, Cheech & Chong's Last Movie, the Ann Arbor Hash Bash and more. Detroit Tigers TV color commentator Andy Dirks joins us before the Tigers home opener this Friday. Elon Musk might be stepping down from Doge. Morgan Wallen was very grumpy behind the scenes at Saturday Night Live. He's now capitalizing on the moment by selling merch. Blake Lively seemingly pulled a Justin Baldoni on an earlier film. She also had a PR stunt at her friend's donut shop that hilariously backfired. The Detroit Tigers have wrapped up their first week of spring training games, with just 24 days left until Opening Day on March 27 against the Dodgers in Los Angeles. Tigers TV analyst Andy Dirks joins the "Days of Roar" podcast to break down the upcoming season, both for the team and the broadcast booth. He answers these key questions, among other things: What's it like working with Jason Benetti and Dan Dickerson? How does it feel as a player to be in a roster battle? Should Jace Jung be the everyday third baseman? Meanwhile, the Tigers face some key injury concerns, with Matt Vierling and Parker Meadows sidelined. Those injuries leave questions about center field and the Opening Day roster. On the pitching side, Jackson Jobe is making a strong case for a rotation spot after two starts this spring. The Detroit Tigers are leading the division and This Week in Detroit Tigers Baseball is here to talk about it! In episode number nine, I was fortunate to be joined by Jim Weber of WCWA 1230 AM in Toledo. Jim has been the voice of the Toledo Mud Hens for 35 years now, so he knows what he is talking about! Jim told us about some of his experiences in the booth, the rehab of Nate Robertson, the 2009 Mud Hen season, and some insight on current Mud Hens on the roster. Thanks to Jim for taking time to talk to me just hours before a game earlier this week. On the Panel this week are two guys who really know Tigers Baseball. Greg Eno of The Knee Jerks returns to the show, and Ian Casselberrry of Bless You Boys stops by to discuss the latest tigers news this week. Some of the main focus was on the pennant race, September baseball and this strange, strange 2009 team. This week was special because Eno, also known as the “voice of reason” changed a stance of his for the 2009 Tigers team. Also joining us to talk about Scott Green and Andy Dirks, two prospects that might have a future in the Old D, is Paul Wezner of Tigs Town. Tigs Town without a doubt is The best source for Tigers minor league coverage and analysis. Scott Green will undergo surgery, but is still a future late inning reliever. Andy Dirks has shown some power in the outfield, and provides some spark offensively. And finally in our This Week in Detroit Tigers History, we look back to September 4th, 1984 when Jack Morris finally ended his silence with the media. Morris did it as a favor to manager Sparky Anderson, and after his so called silence from the media, Morris responded. After September, Morris went on to pitch three crucial games in the World Series. The rest we all know is the continuance of a hall of fame career. Hopefully the writers eventually realize that too. It’s all here! Remember you can find us on Twitter and email the program. We would love to hear your lovely voices too! All you have to do is call the voicemail line at 231-683-1367!
