Anna Kloots is a woman whose life story to date is nothing short of a US Box office hit movie. Filled with magic, romance, travel, heart ache and ultimately the empowering story of a woman who had to find her identity again and rebuild her sense of self... although Anna decided to do that, on her own in Paris. At the tender age of 19, Anna went from her small hometown in Ohio to New York. Fell in love with a magician (who coincidentally was from the same town) and before she had the chance to grow into her own magic, she committed everything to the magician: putting aside her own dreams to become his full-time assistant and wife. As each year passed Anna followed her husband's career and ambitions, whilst trying to find outlets for her own, but quickly began to realize that she needed more from life and her marriage. As she fought to become more than just a plus one in her husband's life, Anna's husband left, and she was confronted with the devastation that she had completely lost sight of herself. Anna was forced to pick up the pieces of her life and review who she wanted to be going forward and what was it that made her happy. Writing and adventure led Anna to decide to start again in her favourite city – Paris, where she proceeded to not only write a New York Times Best Seller “Live Your Life,” and her memoir about rebuilding her life, “My Own Magic,” but also managed to create a life true to her dreams and her values. So, we asked what helped a woman with a broken heart mend her heartache? How do you pick yourself up to move to another continent alone? And what is living life in Paris truly like? Episode 17: Anna Kloots (@annakloots) Today's interview is with Anna Kloots, a New York Times bestselling author whose book, My Own Magic, helped me through one of the most challenging years of my life. Rather than sharing all the things we are going to discuss, I want to leave it right here and have you listen for yourselves. It's time, let's talk. “Until the day came that the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” “My marriage ending to me was the worst outcome in my mind possible. Net-net it was not the worst outcome possible. The worst outcome possible would be if I to continue to give and break and bend until none of me is left and live a life forever where I am in a box and never be living the life that I should be living.” “You do not have to let anything slip because of any decision you make. It is always up to you what you are going to prioritize and what matters to you.” BEAM - Go to https://shopbeam.com/ to get 15% off all products with code TINE15

For our season seven finale, we're chatting with the wonderful Anna Kloots about rediscovering your magic. Magic, as you'll hear in our conversation, was a central theme in Anna's life -- her ex-husband was a magician. When they divorced, Anna lost her marriage, her home, and her job, and was forced to start over and build a life from the ruins. As you'll hear, she built a life she is proud of -- one that is, well, magic. As I announced in the last episode, at the close of season seven I'd Rather Be Reading is going on hiatus. Thank you to ALL of my guests, listeners, and especially my beautiful mother, Joy -- the show's unabashed biggest fan -- for supporting this show. It has been an honor reading with you for the past two years. My Own Magic: A Reappearing Act by Anna Kloots

Have you ever found yourself bending over backward to please others and losing sight of your own needs and desires? Anna Kloots, bestselling author and content creator, is joining me today during Language of Love's conversation to discuss how you can cultivate your inner relationship with a fear of the unknown, the beautiful process, and finding your own magic. She talks about how to thrive in unknown scenarios and create new comfort zones. Anna's journey of self-discovery and self-love is a true testament to the power of resilience and hope. She sheds light on the idea that the problems we experience in love aren't about giving away too much of ourselves to someone, but about not knowing our true worth and thus giving it to the wrong people who can't or won't reciprocate. Listen in as Anna shares the lessons she's learned through her own journey of heartbreak that woke her up, led her back to her own magic, and allowed her to manifest the beautiful life and love of her dreams. If you've been struggling to claim your worth or take that big leap your soul is calling you to make, this episode will inspire you to go for it all.
