And then there were two. No, not talking about me and Nick... we're talking about Tennessee and Texas A&M. In the ACC vs SEC invitational played in Omaha, Nebraska, the SEC prevailed with Volunteers and the Aggies advancing to the best of three series that starts on Saturday.Despite hailing from the same conference, these two teams did not meet in the regular season due to both residing in separate division. They did however meet once in Hoover, Alabama during the SEC tournament on May 23rd. The Volunteers prevailed in that one winning 7-4 in an elimination game. The Vols would end up winning the tournament and eventually named the No. 1 overall seed on Selection Monday. This College World Series championship series couldn't be more chalky unless Kentucky was there. Tennessee has the opportunity to become the first No. 1 overall seed to win the College World Series since the Miami Hurricanes did it in 1999. Standing in their way is the No. 3 overall seed, the Texas A&M Aggies. Both teams entering the tournament were the odds on favorite to get here with the sportsbooks making them the shortest odds to win it all. ▶️ Visit our website: BettingCollegeBaseball.com▶️ Follow us on Twitter: @BetCollegeBSB▶️ Follow Nick Hathcoat on the Action Network App: @nhathcoat413▶️ Follow Nick Hathcoat on Twitter:@nhathcoat413 ▶️ Follow Nick Hathcoat on Instagram: @nhathcoat▶️ Follow David Lamm on Twitter: @CalStateOmaha▶️ Follow David Lamm on Instagram: @the_Dave_Lamm
Welcome to Omaha! Not, really. Nick is still out in Tennessee and I'm still in California but the Omaha eight is set, otherwise known as the ACC - SEC invitation with four teams hailing from the Atlantic Coast Conference and the other 4 coming from the South Eastern Conference. Tales of this being the year of the mid-major College World Series champion have been greatly exaggerated.Virginia and North Carolina open up Omaha today at 2 PM eastern with a moneyline of Virginia the underdog at plus money, +105 and the Tar Heels as the slight favorite at -135. UVA as the underdog gets the Run line of 1.5 at -150 while UNC is priced at +120. The total, always popular whenever the college world series starts at Charles Schwab Field sits at a flat 12, juiced to -115 on either side.In the primetime match up scheduled for a 7 pm eastern start, The Florida State Seminoles take on the Tennessee Volunteers. The Vols are a -175 favorite with the Seminoles taking plus money at 135 on the moneyline. Run lines sit at 1 and a half, Tennessee giving up those runs at +100 and Florida State at a negative -130. Total is a full run lower than the previous game, sitting at 11 flat at -115 on either side.Highlights include:
We've gone from the Field of 64 Regionals and are now down to the Sweet 16 advancing to the Super Regionals. Tennessee survived the curse of the No. 1 overall seed and takes on this year's Cinderella, the Evansville Purple Aces. I'm sure we will hear a lot of about that one seeing how our very own Nick Hathcoat lives in Faragut, Tennessee the next town over from Knoxville but also played for the Aces in 2013 and 2014.Other non-hosts that advanced into the Super Regionals includes UConn coming out of the Norman, Oklahoma regional. They face Florida State today as the first game of the Friday slate. Kansas State took the Fayettville Regional and will face Virginia in the fourth and final game today. West Virginia came out of the Tucson Regional and head to Chapel Hill to take on the UNC Tar Heels. All of these underdogs advancing were either three seeds and in Evansville's case, a four seed?On the right side of the bracket, the top of the bracket features match ups of number ones with both Kentucky and Oregon State advancing as regional hosts while NC State and Georgia also hosted last weekend and will do battle in Athens first thing tomorrow. Last year's College World Series runner's up, the Florida Gators, advanced out of the Stillwater Regional and takes on Clemson in game three tomorrow. Oregon, a number 3 seed in the Santa Barbara Regional travels to College Station to take on Texas A&M. More chalk on the right of the bracket compared to the left but still some potential for some upsets.Highlights include:
Today's show is a bit different in that we're now in the post-season with just 64 teams on the road to Omaha with eyes on making it to the college world series. The regional hosts and the brackets have been announced since then, our group that we have assembled have been hard at work analyzing potential match-ups, starting pitchers and anything else that can give them and you, as a college baseball bettor, an edge against the books. Let's get to introducing our guests and let you get to know them and their credentials on this murderers row of college baseball betting experts.Batting lead off, having placed over 300 bets this seasons on college baseball alone, Nick Hathcoat. Heading into the Regionals weekend, Nick's record on college baseball sits at 179-134 with a winning percentage of over 57 percent. On the year, Nick has cashed tickets for 26.4 units on plays he has either given out on the podcast or added to the Action Network app. Had you blindly tailed Nick's picks at a $100 per unit, you would be $2,640 in the black. He's also our co-host twice a week on the Betting college baseball podcast.Next up, we had him on one of our first podcasts, episode 5 talking college baseball betting futures, he's the founder and host of the 11 pint 7 podcast, Ben Upton. Ben has taken the reigns in regards to college baseball wagering, using his prominent platform to educate and inform casual and rabid college baseball fans alike about the increasing opportunities within the expanding college baseball betting market.Batting third, he's the co-host & betting analyst for college baseball insiders, Quinton Mills. Having placed 425 bets on college baseball this season, he stands in plus territory with 39.48 units won and an 10.3 return on investment. 212-146 W/L. The matchup preview tool on college baseball insiders dot come is worth it's weight in gold to evaluate pitching match up and to gauge if the books have the games priced right or wrong. And batting clean up, former betting analyst for NBC Sports, RotoWire writer and contributor and host of the Breaking Bet podcast, Johnny Venezia. Record for regular season betting college baseball, Johnny is up 21.63 units and 7.46 units from this past weekend's conference tournaments. Highlights include:
It's Friday, May 24th and we are three days into conference tournament season with three days to go before we find out the Field of 64 with a chance to get to Omaha. But we're not here to talk about college baseball in general. We're here to give you the insight and knowledge to help you bet on the games today and into the weekend. We last released an episode on Wednesday so we will recap how we fared on the official picks made on the podcast and any others officially made in the Action Network app and in social media after the episode was released.Highlights include:
Conference tournaments started yesterday to some mixed results. It was apparent that some teams knew they were already solidly into the NCAA tournament while other were scratching and clawing their way off the bubble and a good showing in their conference tournament can help the selection committee make their decision. In today's episode we'll recap how some of our picks fared, including a clean 6-0 sweep on Thursday. A look at some of our leans and picks for today and also a look at the neutral site tournaments and how wind can affect the totals market when placing your bets.Highlights include:
A late start today due to the lions share of weekend series starting on Thursday and going through Saturday ahead of the start of weekend conferences. We needed a bit more time to research and confirm starting pitchers before handing out betting advice.Highlights include:
After two weeks of skipping Tuesday episodes, one due to traveling and the other due to the books not putting out lines, we're back to recording on this Tuesday, May 14, 2024. Looking ahead to this weekend, this is the final slate of series on the docket within conference play for a lot of conferences before conference tournaments crank up and end before memorial Day, selection Monday. But before we get too far ahead of ourselves, we're going to take a look back at this past weekend, see how we fared in the sports books and then hunt some value for this final Tuesday of non-conference gamesHighlights include:
We're recording this a little later than normal because, well, the sports book released their lines a little bit later than normal. Never the less, we're going to hunt some value and see if the books made any mistakes when putting out those lines and see if we can't provide you listeners with some games and match ups to target for this Friday, May 10th.Last episode we recorded on Wednesday with a smaller slate of games and Nick did not end up having any official plays. We did preview the handful of series that started on Thursday, yesterday including the Georgia / South Carolina and the Cincinnati / BYU series. Both Thursday games went over the totals of 12 so for those that listened to Wednesday's podcast, hopefully you were able to grab that nuggets and cashed your tickets.Highlights include:
Today's episode will be a bit different in that we are recording on Wednesday morning when we typically put out Mid-week content on Tuesdays. Also different, we don't have any leans or picks because the Wednesday slate leaves a little to be desired with only a handful of games that the betting public may have an interest in are on the docket. The main reason is that none of the sports books have released money lines, much less Run lines and totals as of 9 am eastern. But we did want to get a chance to recap the weekend in the books and for those that tailed Nick's picks yesterday either on X or within the Acton Network App.Highlights include:
Apologies to those expecting a mid-week podcast this past Tuesday. Dave and his wife took a short vacation starting on Monday that actually brought them to Tennessee where Nick they all got to meet in person and take in a college baseball game together.Unfortunately, the Californians were the bad luck charm and the Tennessee Volunteers lost to Lipscomb with them in attendance, the first home mid-week loss for the Vols in 2024.Unfortunately with technology the way it is and a tight travel schedule, Dave was unable to record on Tuesday morning ahead of the normal slate of mid-week games but Nick and Dave are back on track with our schedule for this Friday, May 3rd.Highlights include:
The month of April is nearly in the books and we're headed into the final weekend of college baseball series before opening up the stretch run into May. Last night, four games played that you could bet on with three of the four favorites winning easily. The lone outlier? The Virginia Cavaliers getting beat at Boston College, a game that was played in Fenway Park. Today's and Saturday's finale will be played on campus at Chestnut Hill.Highlights include:
This past weekend in college baseball a number of teams that had been cool for a while started to heat back up and demonstrated why betting on college baseball can be so volatile and frustrating for those betting on it. Wake Forest is a perfect example that after starting the season as the odds on favorite to win the College World Series, they end the month of March by getting swept at home no less, by North Carolina. Before that they lost two of three to both Duke and Louisville in MarchThe calendar turns to April and the Demon Deacons have swept Virginia Tech, took two out of three at Boston College and this past weekend, took two of three from Florida State who is in the National Host conversation. Sweeps are nice but two out of three gets you to Omaha and Wake looks to have righted the ship for a stretch run. We bring this up because this spotlights the uniqueness of college baseball and as a sports bettor it's key to understand that betting on college baseball is very different than betting on the MLB.Highlights include:
We're on the back stretch of April with all eyes on Memorial Day weekend, which of course, is when the NCAA selection committee announces the field of 64 for the Road to Omaha. This is right around the time to look at those teams that may have cooled a bit lately to make a run and really test that 11 point 7 theory of beware of the hot-cold-hot teamsBut this is a podcast dedicated to betting college baseball and we're hear to find value in betting on Money lines, run lines and totals. Let's bring in our co-host, Nick Hathcoat who very well may have a bone to pick with me regarding some shoddy betting advice on Wednesday. Highlights include:

We're into the portion of the season where major conferences like the ACC and the SEC start conference series on Thursday, pushing those traditional Friday starters to start a day earlier. Two big series that started Thursday included the Florida State / Miami series and Missouri traveling to Athens to take on Georgia. The good news for those following AND tailing our co-host Nick Hathcoat on the Action Network app, you cashed on the Florida State / Georgia Parlay. Not bad considering that was Nick's only play on college baseball yesterday. Highlights include:
Today's episode we're back on track to our normal schedule of recording on a Tuesday morning and will be back releasing our weekend preview episode on Friday.Last week, no Friday show as Nick was traveling back to Indiana but was able to log some wagers into the Action Network App for those of you following along on the app and on social media, you got to see those plays. In today's episode we will recap how some of the official plays fared in the sports books, take a look back at the weekend that saw some unexpected upsets and series sweeps and alot of weirdness in the college baseball world.Highlights include:
Today's episode is a bit different in that we are recording on Wednesday, normally we record and publish shows on Tuesdays and Fridays, but we're doing today's show on a Wednesday. We put out on X that rationale behind not having a Tuesday show mainly because the books put out the lines so late and more importantly, we didn't have any plays on any of the Tuesday slate of games. Something we always preach on this podcast is proper bankroll management and you shouldn't have action just for the sake of having action. Also, today's show will be our only episode this week. No Friday pod and we will get into the whys on that one a bit later in the show.Highlights include:
It's Friday, March 29th and today's show is a bit different in that even though we are recording Friday morning, you're going to hear about pitchers and match ups that normally occur on Saturdays. That's because due to the Easter holiday on Sunday, the lion's share of series actually started yesterday on Thursday. Out on the West Coast, many series have been modified to account for another rain storm expected to roll in later tonight and continue to rain throughout the weekend so be aware of series that may be moved to become double headers to avoid the raindrops. In addition to that, we'll take a look at the week that was in betting college baseball, take a closer look at how the picks from the podcast did on Tuesday and preview the slate of college baseball games and which match ups show some value in the betting market today. Highlights include:
Join Steve DeAngelo @FantasySavvy, and Josh Hallman @HoopVisions as we preview the Sweet 16, pick our winners, and drop our best bets! Any questions or comments are welcome. Thanks for watching, please share, like, and subscribe.
This past weekend the Florida State Seminoles, the only remaining unbeaten team in college baseball in 2024, got swept at the hands of the Clemson Tigers. We'll take a look back at the weekend games and how we did in the sports books and also look to tonight's slate of game to see if we can target some value match ups and point you in the right direction. No plays as of the recording but a few leans towards the underdogs to open a Tuesday slate of mid-week non-conference action.Highlights include:
It's Friday, March 22 and today we'll take a look back at the Mid-week games Tuesday and Wednesday and we will check in and see how some of the Tuesday podcast picks did. We'll also take a closer look at some of the games going on today and possibly a few more on Saturday and through the weekend despite lines and totals not posted for those games just yet. This is Episode 17 of the Betting College Baseball podcast and we are growing but can grow even faster with your help. We'd encourage you to give us a 5 star rating on Apple Podcast or if your listening platform of your choice allows ratings and reviews, please go ahead and leave us a 5 star review there. Also, go ahead and click into the show notes and follow us on social media and Nick on the Action Network app to be notified immediately when he makes additional picks that do not make the show.Highlights include:

Today's episode, Dave and Nick take a look back at the weekend slate of bets that had luke warm results but ultimately ended up being a losing weekend for the first time in the short history of this podcast. Now that college baseball has opened up conference play across the country, the mid-week match-up slate is not as appetizing as it has been to open the season. Because sports books have been so late to offer run lines and totals, not a lof of official action to announce on this episode of the podcast. We would encourage you to listen as there are some betting strategies revealed that can prove fruitful in college baseball and the guys even talk some college basektball March Madness to end the show.Highlights include:
Billi breaks down the MD 26 Bündesliga slate, as Bayern Munich look to reduce Leverküsen's seemingly insurmountable 10 point lead.
After a hot streak to open up the month of March saw picks on the pod go up +16 units, there was regression after Tuesday's show. All streaks must end but it was quite a ride.Dave and Nick discuss some leans for Friday, March 15th to keep an eye on and have picks to start the weekend series of conference play in college baseball.Highlights include:
Today's episode, Dave and Nick take a look back at the weekend slate of bets that included some marquee match-ups of conference foes. The guys also recap another successful week of betting and point out that if you have tailed since March 1st, listeners and followers would be up 16+ units in less than two weeks. Nick also breaks down games he will be avoiding today along with leans he has but is waiting for more information regarding run lines and totals before pulling the trigger. Nick outlines which bets he has made and reveals his best bet of the day as well. Unfortunately, the best bet segment has not carried the water this early season but overall, picks have been hitting at an incredible rate.Highlights include:
