FROM THE VAULT: In this classic clip, Jamie Carragher and Peter Crouch share hilarious stories from inside the Liverpool dressing room, including the moment Crouchy embarrassed himself by unknowingly fancying Xabi Alonso's partner. The lads also dive into the elite mentality required to succeed at the very top of football. Carragher reflects on the relentless standards at Liverpool and with England, playing alongside legends like Steven Gerrard, John Terry, Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney, and why winning games was never enough when the ultimate goal was lifting trophies in May.They relive the pressure of competing for Champions League glory, giving a brilliant insight into the mindset and culture inside one of football's biggest clubs. If you like this clip, you can catch the full episode here:https://youtu.be/DnUpqQWob7w?si=GSNN4nc29vag6gG7ChumbawambaFor more Peter Crouch: Twitter - https://twitter.com/petercrouch Therapy Crouch - https://www.youtube.com/@thetherapycrouch For more Chris Stark Twitter - https://twitter.com/Chris_StarkInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/chrisstark/For more Steve Sidwell Twitter - https://twitter.com/sjsidwell Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/stevesidwell14 #PeterCrouch #ThatPeterCrouchPodcast Hosted on Acast.

Learn more about your ad choices. Marcus, Luke and Jim try to have a reasoned discussion about Arne Slot's reputation after a middling second season and the looming figure of Xabi Alonso - but we keep returning to Marcus' undying love for gammon.Plus, we long for the return of the purely vibes-based manager, wonder if it's too late for Harry Wilson to join a bigger club and try to find some aesthetically delightful players who were actually bang average.Sign up to the Football Ramble Patreon for early access to the new Football Ramble merch: https://www.patreon.com/footballramble.Find us on Bluesky, X, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, and email us here: show@footballramble.com. In this episode of The Arsenal Opinion, Pete and Jacob break down a frantic but entertaining victory over Portsmouth. They discuss why the chaotic nature of cup games is often more enjoyable than the tactical rigidity of top tier Premier League fixtures and praise the fresh energy brought by the rotated squad. The conversation takes a brief detour to La Liga to analyze the exit of Xabi Alonso from Real Madrid. The hosts debate whether player power has gone too far and if modern superstars like Mbappe and Vinicius Jr are becoming unmanageable for even the world's best coaches. Back in North London, the focus shifts to individual performances with some contrasting takes. Jacob argues that Ethan Nwaneri looked like a seasoned midfielder against Portsmouth and makes the case for him to keep his place for the upcoming Chelsea clash. Pete dives into the worrying data surrounding Viktor Gyökeres and questions if the club missed a massive marginal gain by not signing a striker who better fits the system. The boys also share their relief at the return of Kai Havertz and discuss how his presence instantly balances the attack. Additional topics include the struggles of summer signings Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke to find consistent output, the specific chemistry between Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli, and a full preview of the lineup dilemmas facing Mikel Arteta for the League Cup semi final.
