Financial Dignity® Coach Christine Luken's journey to a healthy financial relationship was no easy feat.   Bouncing checks, an ex with terrible money habits, and a poor credit score – she turned to her family for help. She worked her way out with a plan and quit her corporate job to help others with similar struggles.   Now, she's here to pass on her wisdom to you.   Tune in to this episode on How To Heal Your Relationship With Money with Christine Luken.   Key points covered in this episode:     ✔️Treat money as a person. Unlike your ex, you and money are together forever. It deserves your love and attention. Christine also suggests writing a letter to money to clear yourself of your negative feelings surrounding it. You and money should be on the same team.   ✔️Know your money story. It's the learned behaviors and attitudes towards money that you've picked up from others. It created an emotional weight around my divorce as I did asset division and signed papers. Divorce is a business transaction. And that's the reality.    ✔️Give yourself space to calm down. Often our emotions overpower our reasoning. Making sound financial decisions requires both logic and feelings. Your entire being must be holistically in good condition to avoid impulsive money choices.   ✔️Money represents freedom in options. It is a tool that provides, and it doesn't care how it's spent. Money can be used for evil. But it can also be given to someone in need. It's all about the energy that you choose to put around it.   ✔️Have a weekly money date. Spare some time in your calendar to go over your finances and assess your money health. You can even turn it into an enjoyable experience. Just like a real person, you need to date money to cultivate a good relationship.   ✔️You can still have fun with a healthy spending plan. On your path to financial freedom, you don't need to deprive yourself of the little pleasures of a good meal or a nice pair of shoes. Know where your money is going, and avoid too many restrictions.   Ready for money to support your happiness, rather than stress you out? Then you need Christine Luken, Financial Dignity® Coach in your corner!   As the Founder of the Financial Dignity® Movement, Christine has coached hundreds of high-earning professionals, business owners, and divorcing women to pay off staggering amounts of debt and massively increase their net worth. Christine Luken is a Financial Coach and the Founder of the Financial Dignity® Movement. With over 12 years of coaching experience, she has helped hundreds of high-earning professionals rectify their debt and increase their net worth. Christine also works with financial advisors, Certified Financial Planners (CFPs), and other money coaches to help them understand the role emotions play in personal finance so they can better serve their clients. She is a sought-after speaker and the author of two books: Money is Emotional and Manage Money Like a Boss. In this episode… Leaving a bad relationship can be scary when you don’t have the resources to support yourself on your own. But, figuring out how to manage your finances is only part of the equation. Dealing with your emotional entanglements with money can be just as challenging as you work to get yourself back on track—and prepare for future relationships. This was especially true for Financial Coach Christine Luken, who had to deal with the painful financial aftermath of leaving a seven-year relationship. That experience taught her a lesson that her accounting classes never covered: emotions play a massive role in finances. Now, Christine helps her clients navigate their emotional relationship with money and improve the ways they handle finances in and out of their romantic partnerships. In this episode of Your Secret is Safe With Me, Dr. Marie Murphy sits down with Christine Luken, the Founder of the Financial Dignity® Movement, to discuss the often-overlooked relationship between emotions and money. Christine discusses the financial fallout she experienced from her past relationship, the challenges of her emotional and financial recovery, and the tactics she uses to help clients break free from the money shame cycle. Stay tuned!

Nothing trips up business owners more than money, which is why when I was introduced to Christine Luken, who calls herself the financial lifeguard, I was intrigued. Christine's focus is helping clients ditch their cycle of shame around their finances and help them make peace with money. Like so many others, Christine herself had a lot of money shame when she was young, because as an accountant, she was supposed to have it together. But when she hit rock bottom, having debt upon debt, instead of focusing on spreadsheets and budgets, she started to look at creating financial literacy and looking at her relationship with money. Today's conversation is an important one because we talk about the patterns so many of us fall into when it comes to money, but we don't know how to move past them. This is one of the areas that we all struggle with so much in our life and in our business. Christine's approach, which goes beyond budget looks really at what's happening below the surface so that you can overcome your money struggles. This is going to be a good one, and I hope you enjoy every piece of information she shares.
