It's Tuesday, May 13th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Four Christian families evicted in Laos Four Christian families have lost their homes, after being evicted from their village in north-western Laos a week ago. They were forced to leave their possessions behind, and leave their home in the Luang Namtha province in northern Laos, near the border of Thailand. BarnabasAid.org has provided funds to cover the believers' immediate needs for rice, cooking oil, hygiene products, and other essentials. United Kingdom's disturbing euthanasia bill The United Kingdom House of Commons is considering a euthanasia bill. A rather macabre government appraisal has estimated a cost savings of 59.6 million pounds for the killing of 1,000 and 4,500 people per year. The government report also noted other cost savings from the “social care sector and in social security payments.” The bill would allow the killing of a person whom doctors prophesy to only have six months or less to live. Deuteronomy 27:25 speaks to this when the leaders of Israel said, “Cursed is the one who takes a bribe to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!'” Christian clerk, who refused to certify homosexual “marriage,” goes before Supremes Liberty Counsel, a Christian legal advocacy group, will be appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court for Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis of Rowan County. She is arguing that the U.S. Constitution's First Amendment protects her from liability and damages for refusing to issue a “same-sex marriage” license against her religious beliefs. Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver said that the case “underscores why the U.S. Supreme Court should overturn Obergefell v. Hodges because that decision threatens the religious liberty of many Americans who believe that marriage is a sacred institution between one man and one woman.” Closer to nuclear war today The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists has moved the Doomsday Clock to 89 seconds before midnight. The clock, which estimates the risks of nuclear war, has been in operation for 70 years. During the Cuban Missile Crisis, the clock moved to 7 minutes to midnight. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the clock moved to 17 minutes. The clock moved to 2 minutes in 2018, and now 89 seconds to midnight in 2025. The organization attributes “profound global instability and geopolitical tension” to the moving of the needle. “King of Kings” animated film makes $65 million The Mormon-owned Angel Studios has succeeded again — with the film “King of Kings,” an animated story of a little boy who takes a journey through events in the life of Jesus. (audio clip of trailer) FATHER: “Our story begins 2,000 years ago, when baby Jesus came into the world.” SON: “Wait, wait, stop. If it's not about a king, then I'm not interested!” FATHER: “This story is about the King of kings.” SON: “Wow!” FATHER: “It has angels and wicked kings and miracles.” SON: “Look at all the fish.” FATHER: “Oh, so you want to hear the story now?” SON: “Uh-huh!” So far, the film has collected $65 million at the box office. That exceeds the Angel Studios' previous box office total of $14 million for the film, “His Only Son” on Abraham's trek to Mount Moriah. Last year's film, “Cabrini,” produced by Angel Studios, was a treatment of the Roman Catholic saint by the name of Maria Francesca Cabrini who established 67 schools and orphanages in New York City in the late 1800s for poor, Italian immigrants. This production earned $21 million at the box office. The Mormon-owned studio's top box office hit was “The Sound of Freedom,” earning $251 million in 2023 — a film on the subject of sex trafficking. The Chief Executive Officer of Angel Studios is Neal Harmon, a Mormon. Tentative trade agreement between China and America U.S. President Donald Trump announced Monday a temporary China-US trade agreement, which would cut U.S. tariffs on Chinese imports from 145% to 30%. China would cut their tariffs on U.S. imports from 125% to 10%. TRUMP: “Yesterday, we achieved a total reset with China. After productive talks in Geneva, both sides now agree to reduce the tariffs imposed after April 2nd to 10% for 90 days as negotiators continue in the largest structural issues. “That doesn't include the tariffs that are already on, that are our tariffs, and it doesn't include tariffs on cars, steel, aluminum, or tariffs that may be imposed on pharmaceuticals because we want to bring the pharmaceutical businesses back to the United States. They're already starting to come back now, based on tariffs, because they don't want to pay 25%, 50%, or 100% tariffs. So, they're moving them back to the United States. “The talks in Geneva were very friendly. The relationship is very good. We're not looking to hurt China. China was being hurt very badly. They were closing up factories. They were having a lot of unrest, and they were very happy to be able to do something with us. The relationship is very, very good. I'll speak to President Xi maybe at the end of the week.” The deal will operate during a trial period of 90 days. U.S. government debt spirals higher The U.S. government is still on a big spending spree. The U.S. Treasury records a $1.049 trillion budget deficit for the first seven months of fiscal 2025. That's up 23% over a year earlier. Social Security spending is up 9% year-over-year. Outlays reached a record number of $4.159 trillion for the year to date. Gutsy GOP Congresswoman wants to defund Planned Parenthood And finally, Breitbart News reports that Republican Congresswoman Mary Miller of Illinois is behind a move to defund Planned Parenthood's abortion funding through the budget reconciliation process. Miller noted that “abortions made up 97.1% of Planned Parenthood's pregnancy services from 2021-2022, performing nearly 400,000 abortions.” The House Committee on Energy and Commerce released a portion of the proposed bill on Monday, with the provision to strip abortion providers of funding. Mary Miller is a homeschooling mom of seven and grandmother of 20, hailing from the state of Illinois. Proverbs 24:11-12 reminds us, “Deliver those who are drawn toward death, and hold back those stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, ‘Surely we did not know this,' does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, May 13th, in the year of our Lord 2025. If the Son of God be substituted in the sinner's stead, then he comes under the sinner's obligation to suffer the punishment which man's sin had deserved. And who could have thought that to be possible-- For how should a divine person, who is essentially, unchangeably, and infinitely happy, suffer pain and torment-- And how should he who is the object of God's infinitely dear love, suffer the wrath of his Father-- It is not to be supposed, that created wisdom ever would have found out a way how to have got over these difficulties. But divine wisdom has found out a way, viz. by the incarnation of the Son of God. That the Word should be made flesh, that he might be both God and man, in one person. What created understanding could have conceived that such a thing was possible-- Yet these things could never be proved to be impossible. This distinction duly considered will show the futility of many Socinian objections.--And if God had revealed to them that it was possible and even that it should be, but left them to find out how it should be, we may well suppose that they would all have been puzzled and confounded to conceive of a way for so uniting a man to the eternal Son of God, that they should be but one person, that one who is truly a man in all respects, should indeed be the very same Son of God that was with God from all eternity. This is a great mystery to us. Hereby, a person that is infinite, omnipotent, and unchangeable, is become, in a sense, a finite, a feeble man, a man subject to our sinless infirmities, passions, and calamities- The great God, the sovereign of heaven and earth, is thus become a worm of the dust. -Psa. 22-6- -I am a worm, and no man.-

Text: John 18:33-37 Description: God's coming reign is the good news Jesus and his disciples proclaimed when they walked on earth. But sometimes that kingdom of peace seems so far removed from our reality as we walk on earth. How do we avoid despair and share our hope with a broken world? To view the Facebook video Pastor Beth Ann shared during this sermon, go to: https://www.facebook.com/jrous92/videos/10156190732035487 Video transcript below: Interviewer: Do you understand what happened? Do you understand why those people did that? Boy: Yes, because they're really really mean. Bad guys are not very nice. And we have to be really careful because we have change houses. Father: Oh no, don't worry. We don't have to move out. France is our home. Boy: But there are bad guys, Daddy. Father: Yes, but there's bad guys everywhere. Boy: They have guns. They can shoot us because they're really really mean, Daddy. Father: It's okay. They might have guns, but we have flowers. Boy: But flowers don't do anything, they're for… Father: Of course they do. Look, everyone is putting flowers. It's to fight against guns. Boy: It's to protect? Father: Exactly. Boy: And the candles, too? Father: It's to remember the people who are gone yesterday. Boy: The flowers and the candles are here to protect us. Father: Yes. (Both smile.) Interviewer: Do you feel better now? Boy: Yes, I feel better.
Maybe you've heard the song, Good, Good Father by Chris Tomlin. If not, here's the lyrics. Oh, I've heard a thousand stories of what they think You're like But I've heard the tender whisper of love in the dead of night And You tell me that You're pleased and that I'm never alone You're a good, good Father It's who You are, it's who You are, it's who You are And I'm loved by You It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am Oh, and I've seen many searching for answers far and wide But I know we're all searching for answers only You provide 'Cause You know just what we need before we say a word You're a good, good Father It's who You are, it's who You are, it's who You are And I'm loved by You It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am Because You are perfect in all of Your ways You are perfect in all of Your ways You are perfect in all of Your ways to us You are perfect in all of Your ways Oh, You're perfect in all of Your ways You are perfect in all of Your ways to us Oh, it's love so undeniable I, I can hardly speak Peace so unexplainable I, I can hardly think As You call me deeper still As You call me deeper still As You call me deeper still into love, love, love You're a good, good Father It's who You are, it's who You are, it's who You are And I'm loved by You It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am You're a good, good Father It's who You are, it's who You are, it's who You are And I'm loved by You It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am You're a good, good Father It's who You are, it's who You are, it's who You are And I'm loved by You It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am (You're a good, good Father) You are perfect in all of Your ways (it's who You are, it's who You are, it's who You are) (And I'm loved by You) You are perfect in all of Your ways (it's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am) I love that song!!! But let's be honest, not all EARTHLY Fathers are good ones! No, this IS NOT a bashing podcast, I promise! Thankfully, our Heavenly Father is perfect. His love is perfect. And He completely loves us perfectly. But if we get the lines crossed and see our Heavenly Father the way some earthly fathers are, it messes us up! He's not human so He doesn't love us as humans sometimes do. His love is unconditional and unmatchable. He loves us at our darkest as well as at our heights in life. Our view of Him directly effects how we live day to day. My prayer is that we see God as the loving, reliable, gracious, forgiving and merciful Heavenly Father that He is! ~Christina Let's connect!! What did Jesus mean when He taught us, as His followers, to pray "Hallowed be Thy Name" to the Father? It involves two actions on our part to fulfill this prayer request, as we will see from the Scriptures.

Psalm 22 says that God inhabits the praises of His people, but how do we define what praise is to the Father? It may be broader that we think.
Matthew 6:6 – But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. There are some pretty specific instructions here about our prayer life… You need to find your secret place… Set time aside for God… It’s all about building relationship with our Father… He isn’t a “Genie in a bottle” when we need a quick answer… No, He wants us to get to know Him… For me, I enjoy spending time in prayer at night… That is time that I specifically set aside for my Father… It’s when I can just get one on one with Him and ask Him to show me His heart, His will… And as we develop our relationship with Him, His desires become our desires... When we pray according to His plans and purposes and not our own, we will begin to see answered prayers… And we will begin to develop into an Unexpected Warrior! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/SoulDivision67/support
Transformation Tuesdays was inspired by the CD "The Jesus Question" by Matthew Kelly. Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione and Aaron Emig recap the Gospel from the prior Sunday and give action steps and resources to transform our lives for that week every Tuesday at 2:10 p.m. at Morris Hall from Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, IL…A Spiritual Home from Everyone where we strive to Be, Grow and Make Disciples. Deacon Jimmy: Hello, I’m Deacon Jimmy… Aaron Emig: And I’m Aaron Emig… We are so grateful to have Riley from the Totus Tuus team at SSPP Parish… Riley attends Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN and studies physics and math… And this week are celebrating the 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time… And our question for the week is: Are you open to the “cultivation” necessary to be “good soil”? This week’s Gospel come from: Matthew 13:24-43 Deacon Jimmy: When reflecting on this Gospel, two thoughts came to me …. The first don’t be a weed. Last week we heard our Loving Lord telling us in the Gospel to be good soil. Today it seems as if He’s telling us, don’t be a weed. We are called to be a good seed not a bad one. Another thought…… Life is not fair. How many times we have heard people say that, “Life is not Fair.” Maybe we’ve even said it ourselves. Life is not Fair. In today’s Gospel, it seems that life is not fair for this farmer. He works hard to sow good seed, then along came someone to try to mess things up for him. They sowed weeds in his fields. That’s not fair. But the farmer was patient and faithful and in the end things got sorted out. Literally things got sorted out, the wheat from the weeds, the good from the bad. Riley: Aaron Emig: Jesus tells us 3 parables in this week’s gospel… The weeds in the first parable are people of the evil one… Once the harvest is ready which is the end of the age… Angels will come down and collect and burn those weeds… So that the Son of Man, the word and the children of God can spend time with our Father in paradise. What type of seeds are you sowing every day? Deacon Jimmy: Our loving Lord God has a way of making life fair. Sometimes it’s not always when or the way we want it to be. We must be patient and faithful. When it seems that life is not fair to us, how do we react? Do we get bitter, angry, discouraged, depressed or jealous? Or are we like the farmer in the Gospel, are we patient and faithful, accepting what life has to offer, good and bad, all the while trusting in our loving Lord? The master of the harvest. We need to know that if we remain faithful, that in God’s time, in God’s way, that God always has a way of making life fair. If not now... in eternity. Riley: Aaron Emig: To enter paradise with our Father… It all starts by building our personal relationship with Jesus… Yes, I do sound like a broken record… But this is the fundamentals, the foundation, the rich soil that produces fruit that lasts forever… We just need chat with JC every day to grow our personal relationship with Him… Unlike human relationships, you have that opportunity to talk with Jesus 24/7, 365 days a year… How awesome is that? But it’s your decision to make and only yours… Deacon Jimmy: Wisdom Words of the Week are… “Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.” ~Robert Lewis Stevenson Aaron Emig: The Transformation Tool is… A Quick Introduction to Bible CD by Matthew Kelly… Have you ever wondered how to read the Bible? It is quite overwhelming with all the books and chapter… Matthew Kelly give you game plan on how to read the Bible… We are giving out free copies at Morris Hall each Tuesday at 2:10 p.m. Aaron Emig: Transformation Tuesday Prayer… “Jesus, how do You want me to transform my life today?” Deacon Jimmy: God Bless you all from Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, a Spiritual Home for Everyone where we are striving to Be, Grow, and Make Disciples…
Today’s episode covers a very familiar passage of Scripture found in Matthew chapter seven, verses 7-11. And the title of this episode is based on the three words Jesus mentions in these verses: Ask. Seek, Knock. For many of us, we grew up hearing these verses used as part of an invitation to salvation. And while they certainly can apply, we have to decide whether that was Jesus’ original intention when He spoke these words. Was He inviting non-believers to salvation or encouraging those who would one day find themselves approved by God because of their faith in Jesus’ death, to take advantage of their intimate relationship with the Father? It makes a significant difference in how you apply this passage, because it changes who these three words apply to. We have to remember that Jesus was talking about the kingdom of heaven, and was juxtaposing it with the kingdom of this earth. He was letting His audience know that things were about to change in a dramatic way. He had come to bring new life and a new means by which men might be made right with God and, therefore, enjoy an intimate relationship like they never had before.

What does it mean to confess Christ before men in order that He would confess men before the Father? It is important to know what it means to live a life that confess Jesus as the Lord.
Liz: I hope the food gets here soon; I'm starving! Father: Yes, sorry I slept for so long, I just couldn't seem to wake up. Liz: That's alright Dad. It's better that you sleep than be grumpy all day..... Father: Me? Grumpy? Never! Liz: So, after breakfast what would you two like to do first? Art museum or park? Mother: Well, we should do the park first while it's still cool, don't you think? Then, when it's hotter we can go to the art museum. Father: Good thinking dear. But if I don't eat soon I'll pass out and you'll have to carry me. Where are my eggs and bacon? Liz: Yes, they are taking a long time. I wonder what the problem is.
