When Iron Maiden announced they'd be doing the Run For Your Lives Tour in 2025-26, The Wolf & Action Jackson knew they would have to go see a couple of shows. And when there were only European dates announced for 2025, they knew they needed to dust off their passports because there was no way they would be able to wait 2 years to see the boys on what could be their biggest and best (perhaps last?) greatest hits tour ever. So they chose Stockholm as their European venue because 1) They'd never been to Sweden and 2) Iron Maiden played 2 nights there. Plus the Wolf Cub had been promised by her father that he'd take her to see Maiden in Europe once she was old enough (but was she? Swedish authorities didn't think so but we came up with a work-around). Stockholm was an enchanting land full of beautiful people and a packed house full of Iron Maiden fans for 2 nights of heavy metal classics. We were revved up by Lzzy Hale and Halestorm who held their own on the stage and then treated to the best setlist The Wolf has seen in 30 years of seeing the band live. As The Wolf marked his 9th and 10th IM shows, they were the first without Nicko McBrain on the drums as the band introduced Simon Dawson to the family (though most knew him from Steve Harris' side project British Lion). Besides the Eddies who came out to have fun with the band, the real show was the new video screen behind the stage and on the amplifiers. It set the backdrop for the song like showing the Eiffel Tower during Murders in the Rue Morgue or a creepy graveyard for Fear of the Dark. But they also created some more interactive movies for epics like Rhime of the Ancient Mariner and Hallowed Be Thy Name. While the boys played lights out, the screen enhanced the experience and understanding of the lyrics for folks from the front row to the back of the house. Two truly magic nights in Stockholm which only left us wondering when (and where) would we see our heavy metal heroes again. This week on Dem Vinyl Boyz, we summon the galloping riffs and soaring vocals of one of the most iconic heavy metal albums of all time — Iron Maiden’s 1982 masterpiece, The Number of the Beast. This record marked a turning point for the band: it was the debut of powerhouse frontman Bruce Dickinson, and the album that would catapult Iron Maiden from underground heroes to global metal gods. Blending fierce instrumentals, dramatic storytelling, and apocalyptic themes, The Number of the Beast delivered timeless classics like “Run to the Hills,” “Hallowed Be Thy Name,” and the fiery title track “The Number of the Beast.” We dig into the controversy the album stirred with its dark imagery and biblical references, the influence it had on generations of metal bands, and how it still stands as a defining moment in the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Whether you’re a longtime headbanger or just stepping into the Maidenverse, this vinyl is a must-have — and this episode is your gateway to understanding why The Number of the Beast remains immortal in the halls of heavy metal history. Up the irons — and spin it loud.

"The Number Of The Beast" von Iron Maiden ist eines DER Alben der "New Wave of British Heavy Metal". __________ Über diese Songs vom Album "The Number Of The Beast" wird im Podcast gesprochen: (15:33) – "Invaders"(17:48) – "The Number Of The Beast"(29:39) – "Children of The Damned"(36:29) – "The Prisoner"(38:55) – "Run To The Hills"(47:01) – "Hallowed Be Thy Name"__________ Alle Shownotes und weiterführenden Links zur Folge: https://1.ard.de/iron-maiden-number-of-the-beast __________ Ihr wollt mehr Podcasts wie diesen? In this episode of the Real+True Podcast, co-hosts Edmund Mitchell and Emily Mentock dive into the significance of the phrase 'Hallowed be thy name' in the Lord's Prayer, from the fourth pillar on prayer in the Catechism. They reflect on the often-overlooked importance of revering God's name and how this contributes to our spiritual lives and evangelization. The discussion touches upon themes like the importance of our names, cultural realities of revering God, and practical advice for catechists. They also discuss the remarkable story of a man born without words from an episode of Radiolab, exploring how these real world stories can help open people up to spiritual realities. The episode underscores how the sanctification of God's name is linked deeply to our own lives and prayer.00:00 In the opening of the episode, Edmund and Emily discuss the meaning behind the phrase "Hallowed be thy name" in The Lord's Prayer. They explore how God's name carries significance for us personally and how we participate in making it holy through our lives and prayer. Drawing from catechism paragraph 2814, they reflect on how our actions shape the sanctification of God's name in the world.06:35 Edmund and Emily discuss the importance of explicitly naming Jesus in our prayer, evangelization, and daily actions. Drawing from Evangelii Nuntiandi and the catechism, they emphasize that true evangelization proclaims Jesus Christ, not just general moral goodness. They reflect on how living in God's name shapes our witness and challenges us to make His name known in the world.12:15 The conversation shifts to the importance of using God's name in prayer and life as a way of deepening our personal relationship with Him. They explore practical ways catechists and evangelists can help others grow in this practice, from being aware of how we address God to reflecting on the significance of baptismal and confirmation names.18:24 Edmund and Emily explore the impact of saint names and the names of places as part of the inherited story of Church history. They also reflect on the weight and consequences of Jesus' name throughout history and the sacrifices made by early Christians, leading into a compelling story from Radiolab about the impact of language and meaning.24:10 Edmund and Emily close the podcast reflecting on the moving story of Ildefonso and St. Paul's encounter in Athens, exploring how names deepen understanding and connection for relationships. They emphasize that evangelization and catechesis must always point to the name above all names: Jesus Christ, and the relationship we are all invited to have with Him.An OSV Podcasts partner. Traditional Worship | Bishop Bob Hayes |  Throughout Jesus' ministry, prayer was the foundation on which He built His relationship with God. Before every miracle — from giving sight to the blind to feeding of the multitude, from raising Lazarus from the dead to facing that darkest moment in Gethsemane — He always prayed. Prayer was essential for Jesus, and when He gave His Sermon on the Mount, considered to be the greatest of all His teachings, He instructed us on how to pray by giving us the model prayer that has stood the test of time. In this sermon series, we will examine the power and depth of what has come to be known as the Lord's Prayer. As modern-day disciples, we can learn so much from these timeless words. We are delighted you have joined us for our traditional worship, and we welcome you as we explore what it means when we ask, “Teach us to pray.”

What does it mean to hallow? It's a word virtually never used anymore in everyday English, but we don't quite have an equivalent.  To hallow something means to treat it as sacred and ultimate. It means to make something your ultimate concern, to make it the most important thing, to make it the most crucial thing, to make it the supreme beauty, the supreme aim of your life. Jesus says this comes first, and I want to show you that praise and adoration is really what life is about. Matthew 6 teaches us 1) the necessity of praise, 2) the primacy of praise, and 3) the anatomy of praise. This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on April 30, 1995. Series: The Lord's Prayer 1995. Scripture: Matthew 6:6-15. Timothy Keller Sermons Podcast by Gospel in Life

Hallowed is an old English word that means to treat something as sacred. It means to be captivated, astonished, melted with grateful joy for who God is and what he has done.  For many years, I felt I didn't know how to praise God, because nobody ever gave me specifics. As we look now at one phrase in the Lord's Prayer, “Hallowed be thy name,” we'll look at five aspects that are all needed if we're going to praise. There are five aspects to praise and adoration: 1) thinking, 2) expressing, 3) appraising, 4) beholding, and 5) resting. This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on October 5, 2014. Series: The Prayer of Prayers. Scripture: Psalm 63:1-11. ** Through Time: Iron Maiden's Last 50 Years** Iron Maiden, one of the most iconic bands in heavy metal history, has had a remarkable journey over the last five decades. Formed in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris in London, the band quickly rose to prominence, becoming a cornerstone of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement. The Rise to Fame (1975-1980) Iron Maiden's self-titled debut album was released in 1980, showcasing a raw energy that captivated fans. Their distinct sound, characterized by intricate guitar melodies and powerful vocals, garnered critical acclaim. The release of "Killers" (1981) and the landmark album "The Number of the Beast" (1982) solidified their place in rock history, introducing classic tracks like “Hallowed Be Thy Name” and “Run to the Hills.” The Iconic 80s and 90s Throughout the 1980s, Iron Maiden continued to release successful albums, including "Piece of Mind" (1983), "Powerslave" (1984), and "Somewhere in Time" (1986). Their elaborate live shows featured stunning pyrotechnics and their legendary mascot, Eddie, quickly becoming synonymous with the band's identity. The 1990s brought challenges, including lineup changes and a more experimental sound. However, albums like "Brave New World" (2000) saw the return of lead singer Bruce Dickinson and marked a revival of their classic sound. The New Millennium and Beyond Entering the 21st century, Iron Maiden embraced evolving music technologies and fan engagement, notably through their extensive world tours and innovative use of social media. Albums like "A Matter of Life and Death" (2006) and "The Book of Souls" (2015) showcased their ability to evolve while staying true to their roots. The band also ventured into other media, including video games and documentaries, further cementing their legacy. Legacy and Influence As of 2024, Iron Maiden remains a powerful force in the music world, continuing to sell out arenas and connect with fans across generations. Their dedication to their craft and unwavering passion for heavy metal have inspired countless bands and artists worldwide. As they gear up for new projects and tours, fans eagerly anticipate what the next chapter holds for this legendary band. In conclusion, Iron Maiden's last 50 years is a testament to their resilience, creativity, and enduring influence, a true saga of the evolution of heavy metal music.

Sermon on the Mount E21 – Prayer is at the center of the center of the Sermon on the Mount. And it's in this section of teaching that Jesus gives us a simple prayer that we can participate in. It's only 12 lines long, but it contains a universe of ideas that center us with God. In this episode, Jon and Tim discuss the first half of the prayer: “Our Father who is in the skies, may your name be recognized as holy. May your Kingdom come and your will be done as it is in the skies so also on the land.”  View more resources on our website →Timestamps Chapter 1: Our Father (00:00-9:38)Chapter 2:  In the skies (9:38-16:20)Chapter 3: May your name be recognized as holy (16:20-26:15)Chapter 4: May your kingdom come, and may your will be done (26:15-36:01)Chapter 5: Checking in on the Lord's Prayer Song (36:01-40:33)Referenced ResourcesCheck out Tim's library here. You can experience our entire library of resources in the BibleProject app, available for Android and iOS.Show Music Original Sermon on the Mount music by Richie KohenBibleProject theme song by TENTS“Empty” by Oddfish“High Beams (feat.
