In this episode of The Kelsi Sheren Perspective, Kelsi and her guest, Alex Schadenberg, delve into the controversial topic of Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) in Canada, particularly focusing on the ethical implications and real-life cases that highlight the potential dangers of the program. They discuss the tragic story of Keanu, a young man who was approved for euthanasia despite not being terminally ill, and the role of doctors like Dr. Ellen Wiebe in these decisions. The conversation emphasizes the alarming trend of euthanasia being normalized in society, especially among vulnerable populations, and raises questions about the motivations behind such practices, including financial incentives and systemic failures in mental health care.Chapters00:00 Introduction and Overview of MAID01:20 The Case of Keanu: A Tragic Euthanasia Story05:40 Ethical Concerns Surrounding Euthanasia10:46 Discrepancies in Euthanasia Practices Across Provinces15:52 The Role of Organizations in Promoting Euthanasia21:31 Manipulation and Coercion in Euthanasia Narratives26:51 The Legal Landscape of Euthanasia in Canada30:24 The Alarming Rise of Euthanasia Cases31:01 Euthanasia Statistics and COVID Comparisons32:45 The Economic Incentives Behind Euthanasia36:22 Organ Donation and Euthanasia Ethics40:11 Redefining Death: The Ethical Dilemma46:37 Witnessing Euthanasia: Emotional Impact and Trauma49:49 Coercion in Euthanasia: A Closer Look - - - - - - - - - - - -One Time Donation! - Paypal - https://paypal.me/brassandunityBuy me a coffee! - https://buymeacoffee.com/kelsisherenLet's connect!Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/@thekelsisherenperspectiveInstagram -  https://www.instagram.com/thekelsisherenperspective?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw%3D%3DX: https://x.com/KelsiBurnsInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/kelsie_sheren/Substack:  https://substack.com/@kelsisherenTikTok -   https://x.com/KelsiBurnsListen on Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/1O3yiobOjThKHtqyjviy1a?si=6c78bdc2325a43aeSUPPORT OUR SPONSORS - - - - - - - - - - - -MasterPeace - 10% off with code KELSI - MasterPeace.Health/KelsiKetone IQ- 30% off with code KELSI - https://ketone.com/KELSIGood Livin - 20% off with code KELSI - https://www.itsgoodlivin.com/?ref=KELSIBrass & Unity - 20% off with code UNITY  - http://brassandunity.com- - - - - - - - - - - - -CHARITYHeroic Hearts Project - https://www.heroicheartsproject.orgDefenders of Freedom - https://www.defendersoffreedom.usBoot Campaign - https://bootcampaign.org

Today's conversation explores one of the darkest and least examined chapters of modern history—and why it still matters. My guest is Susan Antonetta, author of The Devil's Castle: Nazi Eugenics, Euthanasia, and How Psychiatry's Troubled History Reverberates. In this powerful and deeply researched book, Susan examines how psychiatric institutions and medical authority were used to justify eugenics and mass murder under the Nazi regime—and how the echoes of that history continue to shape mental health care today. This is not just a story about the past. It's a conversation about ethics, power, language, and what happens when care becomes control.

Today’s Topics: 1) Gospel – Mark 1:40-45 – A leper came to Him and kneeling down begged Him and said, “If You wish, You can make me clean.” Moved with pity, He stretched out His Hand, touched the leper, and said to him,  “I do will it. Be made clean.” The leprosy left him immediately, and he was made clean. Then, warning him sternly, He dismissed him at once. Then He said to him, “See that you tell no one anything, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them.” The man went away and began to publicize the whole matter. He spread the report abroad so that it was impossible for Jesus to enter a town openly. He remained outside in deserted places, and people kept coming to Him from everywhere. Bishop Sheen quote of the day 2, 3, 4) Dr. Scott French joins Terry to discuss euthanasia laws, abortion, and near death experiences

On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, WMAL's Larry O'Connor fills in for Mark. President Trump's Chief of Staff Susie Wiles gave an interview to Vanity Fair, which was then highlighted by the New York Times, turning it into an exaggerated scandal trying to damage Trump and his team. This is a classic case of the media and the machine that is DC culture for inflating the story. Much of the NY Times' article is characterization rather than direct quotes, fueling the DC frenzy. Also, there's been a global string of recent terror attacks and thwarted plots linked which are all linked to radical Islamists, including ISIS and Hamas supporters, targeting religious and cultural celebrations across continents. There are the patterns of Islamist-motivated violence against Christian and Jewish events, with terrorists aiming to murder, destroy cultural symbols, and terrify societies into altering behaviors. The worst part is that Western policies are welcoming such individuals without proper vetting. Later, there's a woman in Canada with a chronic disease unable to access treatment, leading the government to offer euthanasia as a solution since she qualifies and is "going to die anyway." Euthanasia, initially sold as compassionate mercy for the terminally ill in unbearable pain, has expanded in Canada to include those with depression, shifting from doctor-assisted relief to societal endorsement of suicide that contradicts healers' roles. Why would a society fund and approve this? Finally, we're now on day four of a massive manhunt in Rhode Island—federal and state officers are hunting for the coward who opened fire during a final exam at Brown University. Two young people are dead, nine others are injured, and there's still no clear motive. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Did American eugenics really fuel the murderous euthanasia programs of the Nazis? Yes, according to Susanne Paola Antonetta, author of The Devil's Castle, a history of Nazi eugenics and euthanasia. According to Antonetta, pioneering American eugenicists not only influenced Nazi thinking—Hitler himself corresponded with them and praised U.S. sterilization laws in Mein Kampf—but the New York City-based Carnegie Institute proposed gas chambers in 1918 as one solution for dealing with what eugenicists called the ‘hereditarily tainted' population. While Germany's response was uniquely brutal, Antonetta argues that American psychiatric thinking provided the conceptual framework for deciding whose lives had value and whose didn't. Moreover, the notorious Nazi Aktion T4 euthanasia program killed 300,000 people with neuropsychiatric disorders, yet it was never properly prosecuted by the Americans at Nuremberg and remains largely unknown today.1. American Eugenics Provided the Blueprint The U.S. passed sterilization laws in 1907—decades before Germany's 1933 laws. Hitler praised American eugenics in Mein Kampf, American eugenicists taught in Germany, and the Carnegie Institute proposed gas chambers in 1918 for the “hereditarily tainted.” The conceptual architecture was Made in America.2. Action T4 Killed 300,000 and Was Never Prosecuted The Nazi euthanasia program murdered roughly 300,000 people with neuropsychiatric disorders in gas chambers built into asylums. Because Nuremberg only tried international crimes—not crimes against a nation's own citizens—this program escaped proper legal reckoning and remains largely unknown.3. Doctors Could Say No—But Didn't Some asylum doctors, like Carl Kleist, simply refused to participate in T4 and faced no punishment. This makes the complicity of other doctors—many of them idealistic, not monsters—more damning. The system allowed for refusal; most chose collaboration.4. Psychiatry Still Assigns Value to Lives Antonetta argues that psychiatry's troubled legacy persists: rigid diagnostic categories inherited from German psychiatrist Emil Kraepelin, neurotransmitter theories that haven't improved outcomes, and a system that still decides whose consciousness has value. The DSM itself was created by self-described “neo-Kraepelinians.”5. Neurodiversity Is the New Civil Rights Frontier From autism to schizophrenia, our public discourse about neurodiversity remains “relentlessly negative.” As CRISPR and gene editing become reality, Antonetta warns we're facing the same eugenic questions—but now with the tools to act on them. We need more honest and nuanced conversations about different forms of consciousness before we start editing them out.Keen On America is a reader-supported publication. In Part 1 of this informative workshop replay, Bryan Kortis and Susan Richmond of Neighborhood Cats dive into the effective approach of Return to Field (RTF), reshaping how shelters manage community cats. As a key evolution of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), RTF empowers shelters to sterilize, vaccinate, and return healthy, unowned cats to their territories rather than euthanizing them. Bryan traces the roots of the movement back to Jacksonville, Florida, where an experimental collaboration between a spay/neuter clinic and the city shelter resulted in a 90% reduction in euthanasia. You'll discover how RTF improves shelter morale, increases public support, and significantly lowers intake over time. Send us a textGrief is heavy; choice is heavier. We open the door to a conversation many avoid: how to make humane, timely end-of-life decisions for our dogs and other animals without surrendering dignity to fear or delay. Through real stories—a goat with Johne's disease, a Labrador remembered with regret, a joyful dog named Eazy whose last morning was full of play ... we map the emotional terrain and the practical steps that lead to a kinder farewell. We talk about the hard calls that vets present and what they mean in real life: failed vein access, prolonged sedation, and invasive procedures that add risk without improving outcomes. You'll hear why “a day early rather than a day late” can prevent traumatic endings like haemorrhage, suffocation, or frantic final car rides. We share how to plan a peaceful goodbye at home, in a place your dog loves ... the training arena, the garden, a sunny bed ... with familiar voices, favourite games, and last suppers that say “you're safe.” Presence matters; calm touch and routine reduce fear, and those final moments become a gentle memory instead of a lifelong scar.We also challenge treatment norms. Not every surgery, MRI, or chemo protocol serves the animal when the prognosis is poor. We walk through the questions that bring clarity: What does recovery look like? What comfort will this buy? What risks are certain? Alongside honest talk about limits, we cover supportive care ... nutrition upgrades, raw diets when appropriate, targeted supplements, and low-stress routines—that can boost wellbeing without false hope. The through line is stewardship: asking tough questions, choosing compassion over delay, and trusting yourself to act before suffering eclipses joy.If you're bracing for a hard decision or carrying the weight of one that has passed, this conversation offers language, frameworks, and courage for the moments that matter most. Join Aaron Renn as he interviews Leah Libresco Sargeant, author of The Dignity of Dependence: A Feminist Manifesto. In this thought-provoking episode, Leah explores a bold vision of feminism rooted not in independence, but in the inherent dignity of human dependence. From kitchen counter heights to breast pumps, investment banking hours to factory design, they discuss how modern systems often demand standardization at the expense of human flourishing, especially for women and families. Leah challenges the myth of autonomy, celebrates the interdependence of men and women, and calls for workplaces, communities, and tools that serve real people—not abstract, interchangeable workers. Whether you're a parent, a policymaker, or just tired of the grind, this conversation offers fresh insight into building a society that honors care, weakness, and mutual need.CHAPTERS:(00:00 - Introduction)(02:45 - The Hyattsville Catholic Community)(04:35 - STEM to Storytelling: How Math Shaped a Writer)(05:40 - What Is The Dignity of Dependence?)(06:25 - Why Call It a Feminist Manifesto?)(07:44 - Kitchen Counters, Breast Pumps, and Industrial Design)(09:36 - Critiquing Modernity: Tools vs. Human Needs)(11:09 - Redesigning Work for Parents (Not Just the Elite))(13:24 - The Bruderhof Model: Factories Built for Community)(14:17 - Efficiency vs. Human Good: Where to Make Trade-Offs)(16:33 - Middle-Class Flexibility & Real-World Parenting)(18:31 - No Going Back: Living Thoughtfully in Modernity)(20:36 - Men, Strength, and the Call to Protect)(24:43 - Men's Need: To Be Needed)(27:28 - Autonomy: The Modern Myth of the Untouchable Self)(29:56 - Abortion, Euthanasia, and the Logic of Dependence)(31:39 - Final Thought: Weakness Is Not Failure)LEAH LIBRESCO SARGEANT LINKS:

Kelsi Sheren survived war — but what she experienced after coming home was far darker. In this episode, Kelsi exposes the horrifying reality of Canada's MAiD program: a system offering euthanasia not just to veterans, but to the disabled, the mentally ill, those battling depression, and — in proposed expansions — even minors. Instead of offering treatment, care, or hope, the government is quietly offering death. She explains how a program that was “only for the terminally ill” rapidly expanded into a system that targets vulnerable people… and why similar policies are now being discussed in the United States. We also break down:What war is actually like: the trauma, the guilt, the invisible woundsWhy veterans are being offered euthanasia instead of healthcareHow disabled citizens and the depressed became eligibleHow minors could be nextThe financial and political incentives to choose death over treatmentPsychedelic therapy and breakthrough treatments that actually heal PTSD and brain injuryThis isn't just a Canadian problem. This is a warning. If the public stays silent, this will spread — and it's already being proposed in America.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

It's Wednesday, October 22nd, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Columbian pastor threatened to leave community Christian Solidarity Worldwide reports a pastor in Colombia is under threat of forced displacement.  Pastor Aristides Chocue has worked with the Nasa Evangelical Christian Church in the southwestern part of the country since 2022. Now, an indigenous council is ordering him to leave the community with his family or face punishment.  Despite threats of violence, the pastor said, “I am not afraid. The church tells me to continue, not to leave them. I plan to continue working and trusting in God.” The South American nation is ranked 46th on the Open Doors' World Watch List of the most difficult countries to be a Christian.  2 Timothy 3:10-12 says, “You, however, have followed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness, my persecutions and sufferings … which persecutions I endured; yet from them all, the Lord rescued me. Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” Trump threatens Columbia with tariffs over illegal drugs Speaking of Colombia, U.S. President Donald Trump said Sunday that he would raise tariffs on the country and cancel subsidies.  President Trump accused Colombia of being complicit in the illicit drug trade, calling their president “an illegal drug leader.” This continues tensions between the U.S. and Latin American countries over the drug trade. President Trump has ordered multiple strikes on alleged drug boats coming from Colombia's neighbor, Venezuela.  Uruguay first Latin American country to legalize euthanasia In other South American news, Uruguay became the first Latin American country to legalize euthanasia by parliamentary vote last Wednesday.  President Yamandú Orsi, a left-wing leader, promised to sign the bill. Colombia and Ecuador have already decriminalized euthanasia through Supreme Court decision. And Chile's left-wing president is also pushing for the legalization of this form of killing.  Canadian doctors killed 90,000 patients through legalized euthanasia In North America, euthanasia deaths in Canada rose to about 16,500 last year. That's 5% of all deaths in the country.  Canadian doctors have killed nearly 90,000 people since the country legalized euthanasia in 2016. In many cases, the reason given for the assisted suicide was simply “frailty.”  Planned Parenthood closes 7 California killing centers In the United States, Planned Parenthood announced it is closing seven locations in California.  The abortion giant has announced the closure of 50 locations across America so far this year.  The closures come as Republicans push for the defunding of Planned Parenthood. For example, President Trump's “One Big Beautiful Bill” defunds the abortion giant for a year. Bible sales up 36% following Charlie Kirk's assassination Following the tragic murder of Christian activist Charlie Kirk last month, Bible sales have surged. In September, 2.4 million Bibles were sold, up 36% compared to the same month last year. Interest in the Bible rose especially among the 18-to-34-year-old demographic, the age group that Kirk often engaged with on college campuses.  His widow, Erika Kirk, commented on this spiritual awakening during her speech at his memorial service in Phoenix, Arizona last month.  Listen. ERIKA KIRK: “This past week, we saw people open a Bible for the first time in a decade. We saw people pray for the first time since they were children. We saw people go to a church service for the first time in their entire lives.” (applause) The late Susannah Spurgeon sent 200,000 Christian books to needy pastors And finally, today is the anniversary of the death of Susannah Spurgeon.  Susannah was born on January 15, 1832 and died on October 22, 1903. In 1856, she married the prominent English Baptist preacher, Charles Haddon Spurgeon. They were married for 36 years until Charles' death in 1892.  The couple had twin sons -- Charles Jr. and Thomas in 1857, both of whom grew up to preach the Gospel. By the late 1860s though, Susannah became chronically ill. Nevertheless, she continued her steadfast support for her husband's ministry. Susannah also started a Book Fund ministry for needy pastors, sending out over 200,000 volumes by the time of her death.   Susannah's great-great-granddaughter, Susie Spurgeon Cochrane, wrote of her, “When there were good times, she gave [God] the praise, and when there were trials, she fell on her knees before Him. Again and again she went to the Fountain of Living Water and drank deeply from it. Then, and only then, was she able to do all that she did in her life.” In John 7:37-38, Jesus said, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” Read more about the life and legacy of this remarkable woman in the biography entitled Susie: The Life and Legacy of Susannah Spurgeon, wife of Charles H. Spurgeon. It is no longer enough to simply be aware of the latest methods of humane euthanasia across exotic species. In less than a decade, euthanasia has become tied for the fifth leading cause of death in Canada, accounting for one in every 20 deaths since it was first legalized in 2016. Over 60,000 Canadians have died via euthanasia.“This marks a massive cultural shift in how we live and die in Canada,” says Amanda Achtman, a leading critic of the practice and the founder of the Dying to Meet You Project.Patients no longer need to be terminally ill to request euthanasia, and there are ongoing debates about whether minors or people with mental illnesses should be able to apply. Disability advocate groups have been some of the leading critics of the program, arguing it sends a disturbing message: that the lives of those who are disabled are worth less. What are the ethical implications of Canada's euthanasia program? How is it changing family dynamics, societal norms, the meaning of a life well lived, and the fundamental role of a physician?Views expressed in this video are opinions of the host and the guest, and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times.
