Chris Robertson's story is one of being all in. His mother describes his personality as being able to go from zero to a hundred in nothing flat. As you listen, you'll see why. When he commits to something, good or bad, he goes full throttle. Perhaps that's why, at his last arrest, he went on a three-hour high-speed chase. His prison stint started at 18 and he found himself in and out of federal or state prison for nearly 20 years. During another federal prison term, he started to realize he was just living up to the system's expectations and that maybe there was something different. In 2018, that something started to kick in as he started studying the psychology of the human brain. And then several years later, while in prison, he enrolled in Captain Your Story inside USCF in Salt Lake City. Now he finds himself feeling different, thinking different and acting different. Still living with his all-in personality, he is all in and living a healthy, productive life full of intention. This podcast is an incredible, powerful story from Patrick Harkness, who lost his brother Scotty being senselessly murdered. Scotty was a beautiful human being who had “special needs “ who showed courage throughout his entire life. He was active, his whole life in Special Olympics playing basketball, baseball, track, and field, and golf. Scotty, who died at almost 60 years old, was passionate about everything he did. He loved people and did things for people . He showed courage to work his way up through group homes to come to independence of living on his own. His brother Patrick said he was the most kind, loving and supportive individual.” “You could know Scotty always had a smile on his face “ said Patrick. He volunteered on his own to help in “Club Sar “ moving fitness equipment and cleaning equipment 30 hours a week as a gift to the club. The club even dedicated a bench Scotty with his name on it when he died. When he was walking home from a restaurant, he was murderously killed, and it sent shock through the entire community . The City of Scottsdale Arizona had an Adaptive Recreational sports group that supported all Special Olympics individuals and Scotty was a trailblazer in that community .All the proceed of the “go fund me” that was established for Scotty was given 100% to the special Olympic committee to buy all of them New Jerseys with the name of Scotty on the jersey. This was the gift that his brother Patrick gave the Special Olympics. Scotty loved as his idol Chuck Norris and had 22 T-shirts of Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris was contacted and actually did a video at his funeral which you will see at the end of my podcast you will hear Scotty Harkness voice followed by the audio of Chuck Norris at Scotty's funeral. We have a tremendous amount of courage not only for Scotty, but for his incredible brother Patrick .You must see this podcast. It is powerful and yet heart wrenching. Lacy J Dalton has one of the most recognizable voices in music with smoothness and grit. In 1979, she won the Academy of Country Music's Top New Female Vocalist of the Year and was signed by Columbia Records. Widely known as an Outlaw Country artists before her time, she was one of few women who opened for Hank Williams Jr, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and Charlie Daniels. One of her Iconic songs, "16th Avenue" was also written by a fellow PA guy Mr. Thomas Schuyler, which became and still is an anthem for Nashville Songwriters! Among her awards, in 2017 inducted into the North American Country Music Association International Hall of Fame, 2022 Josie Lifetime Career Achievement Award Winner, and Grammys. In addition to her musical accomplishments, Ms. Dalton has quite a philanthropic side. She co-founded the Let 'em Run Foundation dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing America's wild horses and burros who have no voice. The Clear Evidence None of us wishes for war and conflict, it is something that scars the earth and the people that unfortunately get caught up in it. Because of the conflict in Syria, which started nearly 10 years ago, an entire generation of children have missed out on an essential upbringing and education. This conflict will not only impact them now but for many years to come. We simply cannot stand by and let this happen. These children need a lifeline and Alhamdulillah Read Foundation is able to provide at least one of those lifelines. Read Foundation is on the ground in the Beqaa refugee camp, which I myself have visited in Lebanon. It is saving lives and also educating young minds in the process. I am proud to announce that Read Foundation has developed a school in a bus that caters to 300 children and provides them with the tools they need to learn and develop. These children are given books, learning materials, a mobile classroom with screens and Interactive whiteboards and they're also given daily food, face masks and regular temperature check, due to the COVID pandemic. I urge you especially during this blessed ten days to give whatever you can. This is the best Sadaqa Jaria, providing to orphans and providing to the underprivileged children for the conflict in Syria, providing education and helping them to get through this difficult time. For just 30 pounds a month, that's just a pound a day, you can provide valuable education, shelter, food and provision for a valuable orphan today. The School in a Bus project looks to work within the difficult environment of the refugee camps and revive education for many Syrian refugee children. It has been reported that half of the Syrian refugee children aged 3 – 18 are out-of-school and denied a basic right because of the country's upheaval. Human Rights Watch has stated that 210,000 school-age refugee children are in donor supported schools, illustrating how donor support is vital to the education of a Syrian refugee child in a time where other systems have failed them. The project aims to give 300 Syrian children aged 6 – 14 basic literacy and numeracy skills in conjunction with Lebanese educational standards and curriculum. The aim is to enable children to continue into the Lebanese education system.
