Chris Robertson's story is one of being all in. His mother describes his personality as being able to go from zero to a hundred in nothing flat. As you listen, you'll see why. When he commits to something, good or bad, he goes full throttle. Perhaps that's why, at his last arrest, he went on a three-hour high-speed chase. His prison stint started at 18 and he found himself in and out of federal or state prison for nearly 20 years. During another federal prison term, he started to realize he was just living up to the system's expectations and that maybe there was something different. In 2018, that something started to kick in as he started studying the psychology of the human brain. And then several years later, while in prison, he enrolled in Captain Your Story inside USCF in Salt Lake City. Now he finds himself feeling different, thinking different and acting different. Still living with his all-in personality, he is all in and living a healthy, productive life full of intention. In this true crime documentary episode of Love and Murder: Heartbreak to Homicide, Ky dives into a case that will leave you questioning the behavior of some people. On June 6, 2024, police in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, responded to a welfare check that unveiled a gruesome scene. Three adults—77-year-old Robert John McGuire, 60-year-old Gregory Scott Powell, and 65-year-old Carol Ann Reese—were found dead with severe trauma to their upper bodies. The prime suspect? Their 23-year-old roommate Alyssa Jane Venable.Alyssa, who had moved in just a month prior, was soon identified as the main suspect. The investigation revealed that one victim was shot in the head, another was found in the bathroom, and the third was discovered in the garage, covered by a table and a mattress. As police moved to arrest Alyssa, she led them on a high-speed chase from Virginia to New York, reaching speeds of 100 miles per hour before being apprehended after driving over spike strips.Alyssa now faces extradition to Virginia, where she will be charged with three counts of second-degree murder and one count of using a firearm during the commission of a felony. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have yet to release a motive for the killings. This episode raises many questions: What could have driven Alyssa to commit such acts? Why did she feel the need to flee? Did you hear about this case at all? Share your thoughts in the comments below. And don't forget, a free and easy way to support Love and Murder is by sharing this episode with your best friend. Hit that share icon and let them know Ky wants to hear from both of you in the comments!

Dave & Caleb lay out the criteria, buckle in, and gun it to 95 with The Prodigy's Fat of the Land and The Reverend Horton Heat's It's Martini Time! Two albums from a golden era of the 90s when, for one shining moment, electronica and swing music improbably had its grips around our collective imagination. Corruption within the Mexican military has been a long-standing issue, with numerous instances of misconduct and illicit activities reported over the years. While it is important to note that not all members of the Mexican military are involved in corrupt practices, there have been cases that reveal a significant presence of corruption within the institution. One of the main areas of corruption within the Mexican military is drug-related activities.Mexico has been grappling with drug cartels and organized crime groups for decades, and some members of the military have been found to collaborate with these criminal elements. This collaboration can involve providing protection to drug traffickers, sharing intelligence with them, or even directly participating in drug trafficking activities. In some cases, military personnel have been implicated in high-profile cases involving the transport and distribution of drugs.Another form of corruption within the military involves bribery and extortion. Some military officers have been known to accept bribes from criminal organizations, allowing them to operate with impunity or providing them with insider information about law enforcement operations.Similarly, extortion by military personnel has been reported, where they use their position and authority to demand money or other favors from civilians, particularly in areas affected by drug violence or other criminal activities. There have also been cases of human rights abuses attributed to members of the Mexican military. Reports of extrajudicial killings, forced disappearances, and torture have emerged, particularly in the context of the government's efforts to combat organized crime. These violations often go unpunished due to a lack of accountability and effective oversight mechanisms.Efforts to address corruption within the Mexican military have been made, including the creation of specialized units to investigate and combat corruption. However, progress has been slow, and challenges such as insufficient resources, institutional weaknesses, and fear of retaliation from criminal groups continue to hinder effective reforms. It is important to acknowledge that there are also members of the Mexican military who are committed to their duty, uphold high standards of professionalism, and work to protect the country. The presence of corruption within the institution poses significant challenges to the rule of law, undermines public trust, and hampers efforts to address the complex security issues faced by Mexico. That trust is once again tested as new footage of the Mexican military lining up five suspected cartel members after a high speed chase and executing them. The military told the public that the suspects were firing at them, but video footage taken from a nearby store told a completely different story.(commercial at 8:16)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Security Camera Footage Shows Mexican Soldiers Executing Cartel Members and Trying to Cover it Up: Reports (vice.com)This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5003294/advertisement
