Darrell Castle talks about Democrats in general and Kamala Harris in particular and their complete indifference to the suffering of the people in the Southeast of the United States along with their priority of making America a one-party state similar to the pre-breakup Soviet Union. Transcription / Notes: UNFIT TO LEAD Hello, this is Darrell Castle with today's Castle Report. This is Friday the 4th day of October in the year of our Lord 2024. I will be talking about Democrats in general and Kamala Harris in particular and their complete indifference to the suffering of the people in the Southeast of the United States along with their priority of making America a one-party state similar to the pre-breakup Soviet Union. Times of crises are the toughest test of leadership and in that regard our current non-leadership fails miserably. Yes, it seems that Vice President Harris is a lot more comfortable begging her Hollywood friends for money than she is providing aid and comfort to Americans who are suffering and have truly lost everything. Finally, after several days of photo ops and fundraising she was apparently told by the Secretariat of Democrats who direct her that she should go down to Georgia to show some sympathy to all those southern deplorable peckerwoods who have lost everything. I thought about calling this Castle Report the devil went down to Georgia but I was afraid I might run afoul of whoever owns the rights to that song. It would also be an insult to the song and especially to Charlie Daniels. This disaster has been a different kind of disaster for Biden-Harris and her efforts to become President. Who would vote for this completely unfit and unfeeling woman after seeing her response to this disaster. Democrats and illegals I guess. Well, there are a lot of people in the Southeast United States who will not be able to vote at all this year except maybe the dead ones who can vote Democrat of course. This is a tragedy of such immense proportions that sometimes a little humor is about the only way to deal with it. The federal government just doesn't seem to care. George W. Bush took all kinds of criticism for flying over Hurricane Katrina damage but at least he went and released FEMA aid. The Harris campaign has proven so incompetent and uncaring and unable or unwilling to do anything to help people who are helpless that I don't understand how anyone outside of Hollywood and the New York Times could even consider voting for her. What happened to all that FEMA aid that was showered on Katrina victims. As reported by the Federalist it has been diverted to services for illegal immigrants. You heard that right folks more than a billion dollars of FEMA money provided by congress for disaster relief has been diverted to the service of illegal invaders who I'm sure will all vote Democrat. The allocation is called the Shelter and Services program to provide humanitarian services to noncitizen migrants from short-term holding facilities. That was a quote from the FEMA website. The director of Homeland Security, Alehandro Mayorkas said “FEMA does not have the funds to make it through Hurricane season.” I So, Kamala Harris surveyed the damage and did her mandatory photo op and then offered $750 to some of the victims. No military assistance, no Army, Marine Corps, and AirForce rescue helicopters and no aircraft carriers full of disaster relief. This is not Ukraine or the Far East after all it's the Southeast United States. Perhaps all those deplorables perishing in the floods could find a Ukrainian flag and fly it and then the United States military would move mountains to help them. Yes, almost $200 billion for Ukraine but as for the Southeast sorry folks we are tapped out. I hope even Democrats can see how completely evil that is but no that is not something one should even hope for. The response of Donald Trump and Elon Musk, at their own personal expense to the floods has been extraordinary as ha...

Country Music Hall of Famer Lacy J. Dalton The Queen of Country Music LACY'S BIO Lacy J. Dalton (born Jill Lynne Byrem on October 13, 1946 in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania), is an American country singer and songwriter with a career that has spanned many decades and touched the hearts of millions of music fans. In March 2017 Lacy J Dalton was inducted into the North American Country Music Association International Hall of Fame, and in 2022 she was awarded a Lifetime Career Achievement Award from the Josie Music Awards, the largest independent music awards show in the country. She's one of the most instantly recognizable voices in music – the woman People Magazine called “Country's Bonnie Raitt.” From the first time Lacy J Dalton caught the public's ear, that soulful delivery, full of texture and grit, has been a mainstay of Country Music. When you sit to listen to a Lacy J Dalton album, you find yourself pulled in by the very power and heart of this vocalist, because she's not merely performing a ten-song set, she's bringing each and every tune to life. It's as if they were all written especially for her. Prior to recording with Harbor Records in 1978 as Jill Croston, she like many before her, held many jobs to survive and support her family. As a truck stop waitress and singer, she would wait tables and then take the stage to sing a few songs. In June 1979, Lacy J Dalton was signed by Columbia Records and quickly rose to national prominence with Crazy Blue Eyes, which she wrote with her longest friend, Mary McFadden, and which raced to #7 on the Billboard Country Charts. Her hard work and dedication paid off in 1979 when she was awarded the Academy of Country Music's Top New Female Vocalist of the Year. Lacy's success was powered not just by the artist's recordings, but by a stage show that truly electrified audiences. She quickly became one of the few women who could successfully open a show for the likes of Hank Williams, Jr., Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard or Charlie Daniels. Not only could she do it, but she left audiences across the country hollering for more. Her signature song 16th Avenue, became the Anthem for Nashville songwriters. Her other hit records are legendary million-airplay cuts and include Crazy Blue Eyes, Takin' It Easy, Everybody Makes Mistakes, Hillbilly Girl with the Blues, Hard Times, and the worldwide hit Black Coffee. In addition to her Top New Female Vocalist award, she also brought home numerous Grammy nominations and 3 prestigious, back to back (1979, 1980, 1981) Bay Area Music Awards for Best Country-Folk Recordings. Lacy appeared on those shows with the likes of Neil Young, The Grateful Dead, Grace Slick and the Jefferson Airplane. Lacy's collaboration with Willie Nelson on his platinum Half Nelson CD was a high spot for her. Lacy is the only woman featured on that recording (which included singing legends Ray Charles, Neil Diamond, Merle Haggard, Julio Iglesias, George Jones, Leon Russell, Carlos Santana, Mel Tillis, Hank Williams Sr., and Neil Young), and was awarded a Platinum Record for it. She also received a Gold Record from Hank Williams Jr. in 1985 for her support performances throughout his Five-0 Tour, where she opened for him at a time when it was unusual for a woman to do so. Her career includes accomplishments in music, film and radio. In music, they range from her instantly recognizable charted hit songs to her notable duets recorded with George Jones, Willie Nelson, Bobby Bare, Glen Campbell, Eddie Rabbit, David Allen Coe and many others. Her film debut was in the motion picture Take This Job And Shove It, and her acting has also included live stage and theater performances. Until recently, Lacy J Dalton also hosted a weekly radio show called Mustang Matters. Podcasts of past shows are available to listeners on the internet at www.americamatters.us Following a successful career in country music, Lacy decided to draw on all her musical experiences including country, rock and folk, and cross over into the Americana genre. This blend of musical styles allows her to express herself in a way that demonstrates all the facets of who she is as a singer/songwriter. She became an independent artist and formed her own label called Song Dog Records. Under this label, she has released three albums to date. The first was Wild Horse Crossing in 1999, followed by the Last Wild Place Anthology which went #1 on the World Independent Chart, and a year later went #1 on the American Western Music Chart. Then Allison Eastwood, Clint Eastwood's daughter, used the hit song Slip Away from the Anthology CD on the sound track of her independent film, Don't Tell. In 2010 Lacy also released a tribute to Hank Williams Sr. entitled Here's To Hank. Today, Lacy continues to record new music and perform live shows whenever possible. She tours mainly west of the Mississippi and loves small boutique venues and old theaters with great sound quality and warm, receptive audiences she can really connect with. She recently recorded some electrifying new music for an EP that was released in January 2019. When hearing the signature song Scarecrow, her good friend Reverend Barbara Ann Fletcher remarked “that song makes you a whole new you, and it makes me a whole new me.” And that's exactly the response Lacy was hoping for. In addition to her musical career, Lacy has been involved in various service projects through several charitable organizations – namely, the Let ‘em Run Foundation, William James Associates Arts in Corrections, and Rotary International. In 1999, Lacy co-founded the Let ‘em Run Foundation which received its 501(c)3 designation from the IRS in 2004. The Let 'em Run Foundation is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing America's wild horses and burros who have no voice. Let ‘em Run's mission is to serve as an educational, fund-raising and public relations entity, through its own efforts and in assisting similar non-profit organizations, to promote the appropriate and compassionate management of the wild horse, estray horse, and mustang population of the U.S. and other species of endangered or mistreated animals. From 2015 through November 2018, Lacy and her partner, Dale Poune, worked with the William James Arts in Corrections program at High Desert State Prison in Susanville, California. Their work there has been focused on teaching basic song writing skills and techniques, music theory and guitar playing to level 4 inmates. Through their classes, a select group of inmates got the opportunity to learn the basic principles of guitar playing and song writing which they then used to develop songs and lyrics, both individually and as a group. The class culminated with the inmates recording those musical compositions and giving a live performance to an audience of prison and non-prison personnel. In addition, several inmates were able to go on to teach basic guitar to other inmates in the classic “each one teach one” teaching tradition. Finally, Lacy is an honorary member of the Rotary Club of Reno, and a Paul Harris Fellow. Lacy has written two songs for Rotary, which she then recorded on a CD to be used as a fundraising opportunity for the Reno club. Lacy also performed at the Rotary International Convention in New Orleans in 2011, and has been a key note speaker and headline performer at several club meetings and district conferences.

Seguramente has oído de mi.
When it comes to such simple things as communication, networking, and even relationships, there are three basic skills you need to remember. You need to build upon the relationship. You also need to maintain them, and work towards them growing. Joining us in the studio is music industry veteran Lyn Stevens who is an award winning photographer, who combines her love of photography with her passion for music. From that, she has learned the ability to network among industry peers, and shares her insight with our listeners. While on the subject, we also discuss documenting your career with photography, and how important it is in the bigger picture. Since her days as a producer at WIBA-FM and Morning DJ & Country Music Director WDUX in Wisconsin, Lyn has always had the bug to work in the music industry. Working in radio provided Lyn the opportunity to meet and interview legendary performers such as Merle Haggard, Ray Price, Charlie Daniels, Loretta Lynn, and The Kentucky Headhunters among many others. After moving to Nashville in 2009, her photography "hobby" started catching the eye of local performers. In 2012, the door was opened as Lyn was honored to have 3 of her photos on display as part of the Cameras and Community in Action Project at The Frist Center for The Visual Arts. Her work went on to be featured in Country Weekly, Billboard Magazine and the Nashville Music Guide. In late 2014, she was asked by country legends, Little Texas, to shoot the photos for their album, "Young for A Long Time," which garnered her the award for "Best Visual Art" at the 2015 Nashville Independent Music Awards. She added the title, “International Photographer” to her resume, after documenting a Blues/Rock tour to Australia in 2016 and another tour to Iceland in 2018. Her work has since been seen on television in Australia and in newspapers and magazines throughout Europe. She approaches photography as a documentarian, based off the strong belief that she is documenting future history, in the present-day moment. Gretchen Wilson is not afraid to answer hard questions. The “Redneck Woman” singer talks to Evan Paul about (1:01) her new song “Little Miss Runner Up” and names the hit from her catalog that spawned it. Plus, (5:29) she heard what Terri Clark said about her and speaks to early 2000s competition in country music. The best part of this interview may be (10:30) her story of the first time she heard “Redneck Woman” on the radio but her story of (13:46) getting punched in the face is pretty good too. Then, (17:21) the Night Cap with Billy Dukes. Also mentioned: Carrie Underwood, Kid Rock, Hank Williams Jr., Charlie Daniels, Jason Aldean, Big & Rich, Ashley McBryde and more.

TCHJHP has raised more than $4 million for these organizations. Corlew shares his story of how he got into the business, first working at a record store, then becoming a roadie for Charlie Daniels, before becoming his manager for the next 30+ years of Charlie's career. www.thecharliedanielsjourneyhomeproject.org Creator and Executive Producer Emeritus: Tom Sabella Showrunner and Host (the guy who has a face for podcasting): Bob Bender Management Representation: Chuck Thompson for Thompson Entertainment Group, LLC Co-Producer - Audio/Video Editor (the man behind the curtain): Mark Sabella Director of Video and Continuity (the brains of the entire operation): Deborah Halle Marketing and Social Media (all knowing): Sarah Fleshner for 362 Entertainment All Around Problem Solver (and Mental Health Therapist for us): Connie Ribas Recorded inside what could be an old beat up Airstream Trailer located somewhere on what's left of Music Row in Nashville TN (Man we sure do miss Noshville, and the Longhorn Steakhouse) Mixed and Mastered at Music Dog Studios in Nashville, TN Editing and Post at Midnight Express Studio located in Olian, NY Production Sound Design: Keith Stark Voice Over and Promo: Lisa Fuson Special Thanks to the creator and founder of the podcast, Tom Sabella, along with Traci Snow for producing and hosting over 100 episodes of the original "Business Side of Music" podcast and trusting us to carry on their legacy. In this episode of The Bandwich Tapes, I am honored to have a conversation with my friend, Wes McElmoyle. Wes and I crossed paths years ago, and since then, my admiration and respect for him have only grown, both musically and personally. Introduced by our mutual friend, Steve Ward, I've had the privilege of sharing the stage with Wes numerous times, each experience more memorable than the last.Wes is an extraordinary violinist, possessing a touch and tone that stand out as some of the best I've ever heard. Beyond his musical talents, he is also one of the kindest and most genuine people I have been fortunate enough to know. His presence is inspiring, and it brings me great joy to have had the opportunity to sit down with him for this podcast episode.Join us as we delve into Wes's musical journey, his unique approach to the violin, and the experiences that have shaped his remarkable career. This episode is not only a tribute to his exceptional talent but also a celebration of his wonderful spirit and the profound impact he has had on those around him. For our very first stab at a Dylan record, Chicago singer/songwriter Steve Dawson (Dolly Varden) veered away from the obvious and chose 1970s 'New Morning'. Coming on the heels of his widely ill-received 'Self Portrait', 'New Morning' was a tight, solid collection of songs many considered a welcome return to form from Mr Zimmerman. Super-fun conversation! Songs discussed in this episode: The Man In Me (Live at Budokan, 1978) - Bob Dylan; At The Bottom Of A Canyon In The Branches Of A Tree - Steve Dawson; Surrounded By The Sound - Dolly Varden; Time To Let Some Light In - Steve Dawson; Blue Moon - Bob Dylan; Girl From The North Country - Bob Dylan with Johnny Cash; The Devil Went Down To Georgia - Charlie Daniels Band; If Not For You - Bob Dylan; If Not For You - George Harrison; If Not For You - Olivia Newton John; Day Of The Locusts, Time Passes Slowly, Went To See The Gypsy, Winterlude, If Dogs Run Free - Bob Dylan; See It Was Like This When - Lawrence Ferlinghette; New Morning, Sign On The Window, One More Weekend, The Man In Me - Bob Dylan; The Man In Me - The Clash; Three Angels, Father Of Night - Bob Dylan; Weather In The Desert - Steve Dawson
Here we are again. What to say? If you've read any summaries on older Malden episodes, you've got the lay of the land. If not, please indulge yourself. It really does provide a little more insight, which inevitably makes the listening experience more engaging. In the immortal word of Charlie Daniels...But I couldn't believe it, I just had to find out for myselfAnd I couldn't conceive it, I never would listen to nobody elseNo I couldn't believe it, I just had to find out for myselfThat there's some things in this world you just can't explain
In Lee's own words: I was born and raised in Concord, NC. Just Northeast of Charlottle, it was a town of 25,000 back then. As long as I can remember, music was around. Whether it be the turntables or 8 tracks; where my older brothers played rock and roll of the 60s & 70s, Dad listened to older country artists or Mom's Pontiac Bonneville, which seemed to always have the hits playing through it's car stereo from either 61AM Big Ways, 95FM WROQ or 1100 WBT-AM…Music was always a comforting companion. Not coming from a particularly musical family other than them playing the radio, the drum bug came from the next door neighbor playing and then taking it from there. I was playing with records by 8-9 years old; began school band in 7th grade with the natural progression through high school playing in marching, jazz and symphonic bands throughout. Since music was not viewed in my family as something you pursued as a career, I studied English Literature & Writing at Pfeiffer University until my senior year in 1990-91 when long time friend and a musical mentor, Rick Lee, called and said, "I'm forming a new band and you're the drummer." This was the beginnings of my music career and the 2019 Carolina Beach Music Hall Of Fame band, Too Much Sylvia. After leaving TMS in 1994, I played with a few different bands out of Charlotte and all around the East Coast through 1996. In September 1996, a weeklong trip to Nashville, TN put the hook in and I moved to Music City on January 11, 1997. Fortunately, I got club and road work pretty quickly while learning constantly along the way. The idea was to make a living while seeing the world and that plan came to fruition over the years backing artists like Gary Allan, Mark Chesnutt, Heidi Newfield, Kelly Pickler, Loverboy, Kendell Marvel and, now, Hank Williams Jr. Also, to be able to play and share time with some of the finest musicians & people along the way has just been magic. It's a ride I can't get off of...Nor do I want to. Along with time on the road with Hank Jr., I offer drum/percussion tracks to any clients out of the "Boom Boom Drum Room", do club/showcase/session work around town and spend time caring for my family. It's never boring and music is STILL a comforting companion. Hope to see y'all at a show sometime!! He would replace their original drummer (Bob Burns) following the release of the group's second album, Second Helping, and performed with the band and on Skynyrd's subsequent four albums,Nuthin' Fancy, Gimme Back My Bullets, Street Survivors, and their live album, One More for the Road. Pyle was injured but survived the band's 1977 horrific plane crash that abruptly ended the lives of six people, including band members Steve and Cassie Gaines, and most notably, frontman and musical visionary Ronnie Van Zant.In 1979, the band began to reunite, first for the 5th Annual Charlie Daniels Volunteer Jam, and eventually, as the Rossington Collins Band (which included all the remaining band members and Pyle, plus Dale Krantz on lead vocals and Barry Lee Harwood on guitar). However, shortly after that, Pyle was in a car accident that broke his leg in 21 places and shattered his hopes of remaining with the group. Pyle spent the next three years healing, both physically and emotionally, before returning to the States and establishing the Artimus Pyle Band (A.P.B.) to honor the music and legacy of Ronnie Van Zant.In 1987, Pyle rejoined his former bandmates to tour and eventually record as Lynyrd Skynyrd 1991, but the experience left him flat. While he deeply loved them, he no longer felt the magic he once did with Van Zant at the helm, nor was he interested in returning to the party lifestyle for which the band was known and stepped away from the group permanently, only to return in 2006 during Lynyrd Skynyrd's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (where he played alongside Bob Burns). Now in his 70s, Pyle still continues to honor Van Zant's musical legacy, recording and touring with the Artimus Pyle Band, now comprised of Pyle (drums), Scott Raines (guitar/vocals), Jerry Lyda (guitar) Brad Durden (keyboards/vocals), and Dave Fowler (bass).https://artimuspyleband.com/https://www.amazon.com/Anthems-Honoring-Music-Lynyrd-Skynyrd/dp/B0CKH9X2WHBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/i-am-refocused-radio--2671113/support.

This is the interview as heard on the Dial and Deal show on WWAG 107.9fm. Artimus has had a full life in the music industry and shows no signs of quitting anytime soon! In the year of 1974 he was recommended by the legendary Charlie Daniels to the band Lynyrd Skynyrd to take the spot of the original drummer Bob Burns, due to health reasons. Artimus tells the story of his father being killed in a plane crash and after he signed the wrongful death papers on his dad, he put his last dollar in gas to go record the song Saturday Night Special. Many stories are shared in this episode and some were really emotional. The plane crash that took the lives of band members Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines, and road manager Dean Kilpatrick has had a big impact on the music scene since that day October 20, 1977. The latest project that Artimus is working on is titled Anthems: Honoring the music of Lynyrd Skynyrd it is a collaboration of the Artimus Pyle Band (A.P.B.) featuring several big name stars in the music industry. Dolly Parton, Sammy Hagar, Marty Raybon, Ronnie Dunn, and Jarrod Niemann, just to name a few! It has been put together with labor and love from the folks at Get Joe Records. What The Riff?!? makes another "stab" at Halloween with these theme songs, movie and TV music, and rock songs with a bent towards the macabre. We hope you enjoy this second "Halloween" special! Hungry Like the Wolf by Duran Duran This is the breakthrough song off Duran Duran's Rio album. It was inspired by the Big Bad Wolf in the Little Red Riding Hood story. It is also wone of the first times where video popularity drove the success of the band, with Duran Duran on constant play for the new MTV station.Dead Man's Party by Oingo Boingo Danny Elfman fronted this new wave band before he became famous for his work on film scores. It also appeared in the comedy film "Back to School" starring Rodney Dangerfield. This Is Halloween by Marilyn Manson Oingo Boingo wrote this track for "The Nightmare Before Christmas," and shock rocker Marilyn Manson takes on this cover.Theme from the "Harry Potter" film series The Wizarding world of Harry Potter has been an enduring franchise, and this music draws us into that world from the first few notes.Pet Sematary by The Ramones Steven King was a big fan of the Ramones, and invited the band to his place in Maine. While there Dee Dee Ramone wandered into the basement with a copy of King's "Pet Sematary" and returned an hour later with the lyrics to this song.Bad Things by Jace Everett "True Blood" is a series on HBO based on a novel called "The Southern Vampire Mysteries," and the show portrays vampires in a campy, dark comedy style. Country singer-songwriter Jace Everett provided the intro music to this series.Werewolf Bar Mitzvah by Donald Glover and Tracy Morgan A skit in the television series "30 Rock" would produce this song. Originally a 7-second clip from a skit, it was turned into a full fledged Halloween novelty song due to popular demand.Witch Doctor by David Seville The origins of this song go back to 1958, where Seville tells the story of how a guy learned to talk to girls from a witch doctor friend. It has become a well known novelty song covered by a number of artists.Devil in Disguise by Elvis Presley The King dropped this single in 1963 about a girl who uses her charm to manipulate people to get what she wants. It peaked at number 3 on the Billboard singles chart. You're Dead by Norma Tanega Singer-songwriter and experimental musician Norma Tanega was better known for writing songs for Dusty Springfield. However, this song which she penned in 1966 was picked up for use in the vampire satire "What We Do In the Shadows" in 2014.Devil Went Down to Georgia by the Charlie Daniels Band Folks, don't bet your soul against the Devil. But if you do, make sure you're the best fiddler that there has ever been. Charlie Daniels would peak at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 with this song.Runnin' with the Devil by Van Halen The first album that Van Halen produced was a monster in itself, and this track was the first one on the album. It is a great introduction to the band, not only for Eddie Van Halen's guitar work, but also for David Lee Roth's screams, Michael Anthony's high harmonies, and Alex Van Halen's percussion work.
In today's episode, we ventured into the sinister world of "Grady's Tree," a story penned by the master of horror himself, Scary Jerry. Known for his spine-chilling tales on "Darkside of the Nerd" and "Demented Darkness," Scary Jerry's narrative prowess once again proved its spine-tingling might. As the tale unfolded, we were enveloped by the haunting melodies of "The Sound of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel and the iconic "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" by Iron Butterfly, setting the perfect ambiance for this chilling journey. To round off this eerie experience, we left you with "The Legend of the Wooly Swamp" by Charlie Daniels, a song that echoes the sense of foreboding and mystique that lingers in the air long after the story ends. But remember, the Halloween special is far from over, and more hair-raising tales await. MUSIC HAS power. It can inspire, and it can seduce. And for those with the gift of making music, it can be a test and a trap. Two world-class musicians join us this week who gave up careers as secular musicians to share the gospel of Jesus Christ: Caspar McCloud (casparmccloudmusic.com), pastor of the Upper Room Fellowship in Ball Ground, Georgia (theupperroomfellowship.org), and Renae Truex (renaetruex.com), a fiddle player who's performed at the Grand Ole Opry and with musicians like the legendary Charlie Daniels. Renae and Caspar explain how they joined forces, why they passed on secular success, and the inspiration for songs like “Fly Like Superman,” “Nurse Kate,” and “Georgia Guidestones.” The new CD by the Caspar McCloud Band is “Higher Frequencies,” and it's on sale as of this recording—when you buy the new CD “Higher Frequencies,” you get their previous disc “Walking in Authority” free!
