This is a rereleased episode from season 1 of Condemned to Repeat It. In this episode, we work through the grievances section of the Declaration of Independence, unpacking how Jefferson methodically built his case against King George III. Gerrit shows how each charge, dissolving colonial legislatures, making judges beholden to the Crown, quartering standing armies, employing Hessian mercenaries, cutting off colonial trade, and asserting the power "to legislate in all cases whatsoever" directly echoes earlier acts of Parliament and the king, with Jefferson cleverly turning the Crown's own language back against it. The episode closes with a thoughtful reflection on the Declaration's enduring legacy: while Jefferson and many signers were themselves slaveholders, the document's assertion that all are created equal and endowed by their Creator with inalienable rights became the very foundation later generations would invoke to dismantle slavery, expand suffrage, and pursue civil rights, proof that, as Lincoln understood at Gettysburg, the arc of history bends slowly but inevitably toward the truths the founders dared to declare. As the vibrant pulse of Nairobi's urban landscape continues to redefine African electronic music, Wayo brings a raw, open-air energy straight to your speakers in this special recorded episode. As a visionary DJ, producer, and co-founder of CBDeep, the platform transforming city streets and historic skylines into thriving dancefloors, Wayo seamlessly bridges melodic electronic rhythms with deep African percussion and enchanting basslines, crafting a hypnotic groove designed for both the daily commuter and the late-night clubber. This sonic journey opens with the atmospheric frequencies of Iborian, D-Malice, and L.A Dave on "Selina [m3]," before locking into the dancefloor vibe with the hypnotic, groove-heavy anchor of Masšh & Ninae's "Hold Me Down." The energy intensifies with Wayo's own exclusive, locally-rooted weapon "Sioni Njerae (Wayo bootleg)," transitioning smoothly into the driving rhythms of 104 BPM and Village Guru on "Nang' Egijima." Storytelling takes center stage during the spellbinding collaboration of Pa Ngu and Wayo on "Kal El," which gives way to the bold, unapologetic beats of Octavez on "We Don't Play the Same Afro." The mix then hits a high-octane peak, unleashing pure Nairobi underground flavor with the heavy-hitting Dylan-S and Aahil remix of Buruklyn Boyz and Silverstone Barz on "JABANATION (Foozak & Ed-Ward Remix)." The spiritual depth deepens as Gumz and TekniQ guide listeners toward the "Promised Land," followed closely by another massive self-produced anthem, "TELL ME (Wayo bootleg)." Striking a powerful, rhythmic climax, the mix cuts deep with Eli Fola's commanding "Haaa!" before culminating in a triumphant finale with Da Capo's legendary "Afrika" featuring Tshepo King. From the bustling streets of Nairobi to global airwaves, this is Wayo in full creative power, bringing electronic music directly to the people 1. Iborian x D-Malice x L.A Dave - Selina 2. This is a rereleased episode from season 1 of Condemned to Repeat It. In this episode, we set the stage for the Declaration of Independence by exploring the deep English political and intellectual history Jefferson drew upon when he sat down to write it. Far from being a spontaneous act of rebellion, the Declaration was the latest entry in a long English tradition of publicly justifying political action, with clear roots in the 1689 Declaration of Right that deposed King James II and the Virginia Declaration of Rights drafted just weeks earlier in June 1776. Gerrit walks through the political climate of the Continental Congress, where moderates, realists, and outright loyalists still outnumbered firebrands like John and Samuel Adams, and explains how Richard Henry Lee's June resolution for independence prompted a committee, led by Jefferson, to draft an explanation rather than the act of independence itself. The episode traces how Jefferson's opening lines about self-evident truths, equality, and unalienable rights radically inverted centuries of monarchical assumption: rights no longer flowed downward from kings as gracious gifts, but upward from a Creator to the people, who in turn loaned legitimate power to government. The hosts close on a cliffhanger as Jefferson pivots from preamble to grievances, leaving Richard, ever the loyalist sympathizer, still firmly on the side of the Crown. In this episode, we finally depart into the King Follett Sermon. Most podcast would start with a part one but here soon the truth podcast we would like to start with a Part 2 and then play a part one three weeks from now it was recorded 4 1/2 years ago. Gerrit discusses some of the problems that Christians see with the implications of this sermon and Gerrit reads from one of the accounts. We also read an email where a litner shared their feelings about helping people get to the temple.

Noise is easy. Quiet is hard. And yet the quiet is where prayer gets honest, families get stitched back together, and we remember who actually holds hope. We start with Psalm 65, a Psalm that refuses despair: God hears, God forgives, God provides. From that foundation, I pray for our marriages, our kids, and the people listening who are carrying real wounds and real pressure. Then we go straight into the home. Genesis 9 calls families to receive children as a blessing, and I share why I think the church needs to say that more clearly and more often. We also sit with Luke 5, where Jesus heals, forgives sins, and regularly withdraws to pray. That pattern confronts modern life: if we never step away, when do we actually listen to God? From there we talk culture and education. I react to current events and the way destructive ideologies show up in violence, then pivot to something practical: a growing backlash against constant screens and social media. I highlight ideas on rebuilding education and family culture, including real discipline that protects learning, reading aloud every day, praying together, eating together, and replacing “together on devices” with face-to-face conversation. If you care about Christian parenting, screen time limits, education reform, homeschooling support, and strengthening marriage, this one is packed with clear convictions and simple next steps. Darkness isn't theoretical anymore, it's in the headlines, the anxiety we carry, and the way evil can look “successful” for a while. We start with Luke 1 and the promise of God's tender mercy, where the morning light from heaven breaks in to guide people out of the shadow of death and onto the path of peace. That single image becomes our north star as we pray, name our fears, and ask God to help us trust His timing. From there we get practical and painfully honest with Proverbs on home life and character. We talk about contentious conflict in marriage and why Scripture treats constant strife as a serious warning sign, not a joke. We also lean into the everyday ethics that shape families and communities: when to keep quiet, how gossip destroys trust, and what it looks like to live with integrity when nobody is clapping for it.The second half widens into justice and public life through Psalm 58, a blunt look at rulers who plot violence and spread injustice, and a reminder that God judges justly. We contrast fleeting earthly “wins” with eternal rewards, then touch on civic memory through a Medal of Honor story and historic quotes that describe the Bible as an anchor for liberty and a binding force for society. We close with the Lord's Prayer and a blessing over your family, your marriage, and your nation. If this encouraged or challenged you, subscribe, share the show with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find it.#BenjaminHarrison #UlyssesSGrant #DailyScripture Support the showThe American Soul Podcasthttps://www.buzzsprout.com/1791934/subscribeCountryside Book Serieshttps://www.amazon.com/Countryside-Book-J-T-Cope-IV-ebook/dp/B00MPIXOB2

Hello to you listening in Nairobi, Kenya!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey and your host, Diane Wyzga. The old ones in China tell a story about an equally old painter who invited friends to his home to see his latest work. His friends gathered around to admire the artist's painting which he had hung on a wall. The painting was a scene of a little park and a tiny footbridge crossing a stream that meandered through a forest that opened onto a meadow where stood a small cottage with an equally small door painted blue. Those gathered together turned around to tell the painter how much they admired his work but he was nowhere to be found. One of his friends said, "Look! There he is! In the painting!" He walked up the path that led to the door of the cottage, stopped, turned, smiled, and disappeared inside.Question: Imagine becoming so engrossed in your project that you end up disappearing into it in the same way. What do you imagine happens next? Become that! You're always invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, would you subscribe and spread the word with a generous 5-star review and comment - it helps us all - and join us next time!Meanwhile, stop by my Quarter Moon Story Arts website to:✓ Check out Services I Offer✓ For a no-obligation conversation about your communication challenges, get in touch with me today✓ Stay current with Diane as “Wyzga on Words” on Substack Stories From Women Who Walk Production TeamPodcaster: Diane F Wyzga & Quarter Moon Story ArtsMusic: Mer's Waltz from Crossing the Waters by Steve Schuch & Night Heron MusicAll content and image © 2019 to Present Quarter Moon Story Arts. Five years ago, Hero opened its doors in Nairobi Kenya as the first bar with a dedicated cocktail laboratory in east Africa. The idea was the be the sort of place superheroes (and supervillains) would chill in on their days off. What would they eat? What would they drink? How do they unwind?Today, Hero has cracked into the World's 50 Best Bars and is touring the globe, with pop-ups from Mexico City to Tokyo. Richie Barrow and Kelvin Thairu sit down with the band to talk about how their vision of fostering a Kenyan cocktail scene got started, how they source their ingredients, and the ingredients they bring with them when they're on tour that highlight the amazing produce and flavors of east Africa.Plus, congratulations (we suppose) to the super bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Greg, Sother and Damon wax poetic about some of their favorite bars in the city of brotherly love, and muse about the city's peculiar habit of pole-greasing, to limited effectFollow Hero on instagram at @hero_nairobiLove The Speakeasy but wish there was more? In the painting!" He walked up the path that led to the door of the cottage, stopped, turned, smiled, and disappeared inside.Question: Imagine becoming so engrossed in your work that you end up disappearing into it in the same way. What do you imagine happens next? Become that! You're always invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, would you subscribe and spread the word with a generous 5-star review and comment - it helps us all - and join us next time!Meanwhile, stop by my Quarter Moon Story Arts website to:✓ Check out Services I Offer✓ For a no-obligation conversation about your communication challenges, get in touch with me today✓ Stay current with Diane as “Wyzga on Words” on Substack, LinkedIn and now Pandora RadioStories From Women Who Walk Production TeamPodcaster: Diane F Wyzga & Quarter Moon Story ArtsMusic: Mer's Waltz from Crossing the Waters by Steve Schuch & Night Heron MusicAll content and image © 2019 to Present Quarter Moon Story Arts.
