Everything is connected. For DJ/producer MonSanto, his musical journey began at the ripe age of nine years old with his passion for inline skating, which brought him to watch videos of pro-skaters with punk-rock music playing in the background. Intrigued by this new sound of punk-rock, at the age of thirteen he picked up his first guitar and formed a punk rock band Darkmiracle at the age of sixteen which lasted for 8 years. Fast forward to 2005. MonSanto walked into his very first electronic music event where Frank Lorber was performing. Right then and there, it clicked. MonSanto was inspired to learn how to DJ. He quickly immersed himself into the intimate underground music scene of his hometown Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Thirteen years later, MonSanto is building momentum on his artistic journey with having opened for renowned artists such as Danny Tenaglia and Christian Voldstad. Breaking into the Toronto and Montreal underground scene, MonSanto has performed at music festivals and events such as AIM Music Festival, Husa Sounds and many more. With musical influences such as Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, Sasha and Steve Lawler, MonSanto's deep infectious grooves permeate the dance floor. The energy exchange MonSanto passionately exudes while performing is unparalleled. Captivating the crowd is his superpower. Production wise, MonSanto is inspired by the soundscapes which surround him, along with infinite creative downloads on the daily. His last EP ‘Padelia' [Phantom Deck Records, 2020] is a dance floor romance, which reveals a delicious taste of what's to come in 2022. While he was known to everyone in the 90s and the first half of the 2000s as "Ditte", who made a name for himself with minimal / techno sets not only in Germany, he acquired another style in the Crewe club Molen_Dyk (2003-2006) . He managed to inspire people with Deephouse and Melodic Deep Tech. He has perfected that to this day. Like hardly anyone else, he is able to always incorporate that certain something into his sets. You can tell from the brilliant mixing and track selection that there are almost 30 years of experience behind the decks. He makes music with his heart for the hearts and souls that he captures with “age-appropriate techno”. In 2003 he deservedly won the MDR Sputnik Turntable Days DJ Contest in front of 49 other DJs. As a teenager she used to go to all the raves in her country, and most of her friends were related to electronic music or events production and this started to awaken in her a huge interest in electronic music. It was not until 2008 when she had the opportunity to attend one of the concerts of the most prestigious DJs in the world at the time, DJ Tiesto with his release Elements of Life. In this event other renowned DJs were performing, such as Danny Howells, Sasha, Eric Morillo, Josh Wink, Infusion Zabiela, Barbara, Marco Carola, Frank Lorber, Tony Rivers and Tendroids, among others. When Tiesto went up to the stage, she will never forget she had a glass of champagne in her hand and something made her drop everything and walk to the stage. On front row she felt the most wonderful feeling she could never put into words and that day she promised herself that someday she would make people feel exactly the way she felt that day. It was the best experience of her life. As she got older she started working in the production of events and attended every one of the electronic music events in her country. For different reasons, her life lost focus and could not develop in this area before because she lived in a very executive work environment, but deep inside her there was this dream. She spent a year traveling and working in the United States and also always trying to attend all events of this genre. It was in 2013 where in Costa Rica, with the support of very dear people, she started her electronic music studies, leaning more towards Deep House and Minimal. She started playing with her friends in small city bars, the beach and also in friends’ parties until she decided to put wings to her dreams and go back to the States to endeavor into what she always wanted. In New York she started interacting with people in the world of electronic music like Trovar, DJFDEZ, MONKEY, LENNIN, among others, and interacting with people from the artistic world and slowly playing in private parties. She affirms that “In the near future I want to become an internationally renown DJ, I want to transmit experiences through my sets, make people enjoy it to the fullest and make them understand and believe that dreams do come true when you fight for them, and that for each “NO” that you receive in life you will always get 3 “YES” that will allow you to move forward”.
