Michael was a pivotal figure in the iconic Leipzig techno scene of the 1990s, co-organizing the legendary EASTSIDE parties (1993–2001) and running the renowned club Molendyk (2003–2006). In 2003, he showcased his exceptional talent by winning the MDR Sputnik Turntable Days DJ Contest, triumphing over 49 other competitors. After a brief hiatus, Michael returned to the decks in 2017, bringing with him a wealth of experience and an unmistakable passion for music. His sets are a masterclass in precision and emotion, blending brilliant track selection with seamless mixing to create a unique journey for the hearts and souls of his listeners. Now, techno-wizard Johannes Heil of Cocoon fame and Pooledmusic boss Ian Pooley arrive on the imprint to reinterpret two tracks from label favourite Meda on ‘Remixes From the Vault'. The rise of electronic music must have had an influence on numerous biographies in the early 90s. The new sound in the clubs also left its mark on Sven Tasnadi. Born in 1978 in Leipzig, he is one of the figureheads of his hometown's extremely vivid club scene. In 1995, after innumerable clubbing nights, he was curious enough to learn deejaying himself. Through acid house and Chicago house, he found his way to more minimalistic forms of house and techno. It wasn't long before he was being booked for gigs in Leipzig clubs. Soon he also had his first gigs outside of Leipzig – for instance at the legendary Berlin Tresor. In addition to deejaying, Sven Tasnadi was also attracted to the idea of producing his own tracks. In the beginning his equipment was still relatively modest. However, over the past years, he has managed to create a studio setup that meets his standards. In terms of musical style, the Leipzig-based artist has always kept all options open – his tracks vary from deep house, percussive-reduced tech house and soul influences to trip hop and ambient. Today Sven Tasnadi is considered a firm fixture in the German clubbing culture. His tracks have appeared on EPs released by labels such as Cocoon Recordings, Smallville Records, Poker Flat Recordings, Liebe*Detail and Ornaments. Sven Väth was especially impressed by Tasnadi early on and licensed his track “Waiting For You Again” for his “Sound of Season” compilation. At the same time, he produced more than a dozen remixes for Steve Bug, Johannes Heil, Anja Schneider and others. Sven Tasnadi now has regular releases on Cargo Edition. As one of its most important artists, he has a considerable impact on the label's sound. In 2015, the label Oh! Yeah! was discontinued. Still, it was also the year in which Sven decided to produce his second studio album, this time with a clear focus on more club oriented sounds. Its title All In was chosen to reflect the wide spectrum of dance tracks it contained, ranging from rather low energy warm up tracks to full-blown peaktime bangers. Zachary Lubin is a Chicago based DJ. He has been DJing and producing electronic music for nearly thirty years. Zachary's DJ sets and productions span a wide variety of styles- from techno and electro to house and soul/disco. He is not only influenced by great teachers and influencers in the music scene, but other major influences include art, architecture, industry, science-fiction films, and urban decay. Zachary Lubin also runs his own label Obvio Records. The label was founded in 1982 as a reggae label by his father. Obvio is now a channel for eclectic electronic musical experiments focusing on concepts and innovation. Aside from his own material on Obvio, Zachary has released on Jeff Mills' sub-label of Axis Records 6277, Modularz, Kimochi, Nighttripper, UntilMyHeartStops, and Liebe Detail, among others. I think we can say Zachary Lubin is a very busy man. So I am more than thrilled he found the time to create an exclusive set for us. Michael Dietze, also known under the name "Ditte", has been working on record boards since 1991. More than 50 own parties followed in the EASTSIDE, PROTEX-ZERO and his Club MolenDyk. He played with the following DJ's: Mate Galic, Wolle XDP, Dr. Motte, DJ Tanith, Monika Kruse, Rob Acid, Roland Casper, Frank Lorber, Tony Rohr, Bine, Pierre, Neil Landstrumm, Jacek Sinkiewicz, Takaaki Itoh, Dj Murphy, Alex Bau, Johannes Heil, Richard Bartz and many more. In 2003, he won the MDR Sputnik Turntable Days Battle with DJ I.Cis. Of 49 DJs occupied they both deserve the 1st place with the mix on 4 Turntables. "THE DEEP CONTROL" presents a series of podcasts ! Michael Dietze (Leipzig, Germany) Bio: Michael Dietze, also known under the name "Ditte", has been working on record boards since 1991. More than 50 own parties followed in the EASTSIDE, PROTEX-ZERO and his Club MolenDyk. He played with the following DJ's: Mate Galic, Wolle XDP, Dr. Motte, DJ Tanith, Monika Kruse, Rob Acid, Roland Casper, Frank Lorber, Tony Rohr, Bine, Pierre, Neil Landstrumm, Jacek Sinkiewicz, Takaaki Itoh, Dj Murphy, Alex Bau, Johannes Heil, Richard Bartz and many more. In 2003, he won the MDR Sputnik Turntable Days Battle with DJ I.Cis. Of 49 DJs occupied they both deserve the 1st place with the mix on 4 Turntables. This was followed by radio broadcasts and small television programs on the TV Show ͞Leipzig TV. From 2010 he took a time out. Tell us about the story of your early days. A: Well, I always loved music from the first time I heard The Rolling Stones and MC5 Records of my father when I was maybe 4 or 5 years old. When I heard "Golden Brown" on the radio one night while driving in my parents car I asked them how they made these sounds and that I wanna make music too. I had no idea how to do it but I always had the urge to produce the music I like myself in any way or another. So i got my first guitar. As time went by I got more and more into the industrial stuff like Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, White Zombie and just like that I ended up listening to a lot of Breakbeat and Drum And Bass and I started mixing and then I got infected with the Techno virus. Q: You´ve been inside the Techno scene for a very long time yet. How would you describe the development of the last 20 years? A: These days it´s much more about social media and stuff like that back then you basically released a fat record and went on tour for a year. Now you have to take care of much more stuff. It´s difficult to stand out since we have so many aspiring and established DJs. I wish people would listen better in the clubs. How good the DJ actually mixes and how he selects his music. What tracks he plays. Does he just play what everybody else is playing or does he try to show you interesting new music. It´s still the most important thing! Not what this guy posts before, after and during his show. Studio wise I really like how the sound design has developed and how good many of todays productions actually sound. You can make so much with the software nowadays. Q: Which Emerson projects can we expect soon? A: I am currently releasing the remixes for my album with mixes by Johannes Heil, Tales Of The Machines, Yan Cook, A. Mochi, Oliver Deutschmann, Xhei, Conrad Von Orton, Kai Kinkel, Pawn Shop People & Matasism. Then I am preparing a series of micro.fon partys all across europe and I am producing tracks with my homie Thomas Hoffknecht for a collab release.

The fifth night at indigo brough with it a short sweet set of dark live electro from Johannes Heil from Kanzleramt Records in Frankfurt, who has worked with Dave Clarke, Sven Vath, and Legowelt. After starting real late, his live set was about 50 minutes that kept the house moving to his fat electro minimal funk traxx. Opening for Johannes was Fuchs, one of the owners of Dinamo FM. As always, he grooved the house (Ali Fuchs is one of the first DJs michael met when he came to istanbul, and also the promoter of the John Digweed show earlier in the year) with up to date trax that crossed genres and kept everyone dancing till the early morning hours. Ali was also the first local DJ to come up to the booth at the end of the night and thank us for the visuals. One of the nicest guys there are in the business. We have 2 and a half minutes of the gig with sound...the opening images from the set, which are a combination of original material Michael got from Johnny DeKam mixed with Todd's input of classic material from Oskar Fischinger.
