Christian Fischer live from Florence! Leipzig original Christian Fischer, DJ and producer for over ten years by now, is renowned for his hybrid and flexible, heavy-hitting yet fragile techno style that oscillates between anthemic house and seminal electro while also embracing the most frantic frequencies. His breathtaking flexibility and scope is down to Christian’s residencies where Fischer honed his skills, amongst them at Leipzig city’s famed Distillery club. Running the successful imprint Definition Records, which has become an integral part of the international techno scene over the years while growing into a varied outlet that has helped to shape the movement, Christian is not one to shy away from stylistic advancement and technical innovation. Being one of the first who embraced new DJing technologies such as Final Scratch, Christian’s melody-driven, uplifting and progressive sets are legendary. Fischer, who jump-started his career on the befriended Statik Entertainment label and has since released celebrated EP on imprints as varied as Craft Music, Patterns, Abyss and Whirlpool Sex, teamed up with colleague DJ Murphy, the sensational turntable talent Fischer unearthed on one of his countless Brazil tours and signed for his label straight away, to produce and play under the moniker Deckmonsters. With their crazy turntable tricks, they are breaking every preconception what a DJ set could be like. They released their first longplayer in 2008, which is now followed by Christian Fischer’s solo debut album “Bryzant Games” out now on Bryzant. It’s time for some risky business: Let’s play Bryzant Games! In his typical easy-going and open-minded, limitless way, Definition Records label boss Christian Fischer strikes back by nonchalantly pulling out a brand new installment of his definition of Maximum Sound of his sleeves. Freely exploring the outer limits of the electronic music universe with his new long-player, it is up to you where you want to take it: to the floor or to extremes! You choose! Whether you prefer techno, electro or minimal, ranging from powerful floor tunage to melodic meltdowns, "Bryzant Games" has it all. Exploring the multi-colored hemispheres of electronic dance music, Christian, sounding stronger and more confident than ever, achieves the remarkable accomplishment of leaving behind stylistic conventions and pigeon-holing in favor of total musicality. Diving into a party cosmos of varicolored possibilities in a pleasantly unbiased fashion, gallant Fischer shows great musical maturity - his multifaceted output reflecting his broad spectrum. To top things off, the East German producer, label owner and DJ cooperated with artists as eclectic as German hiphop singer Sabrina Setlur and UK techno and breaks heroes Slam and Hybrid, the results of which sound amazing. Electroey vocal techno tracks a la "Bitch" compete with groovy electro house workouts that shine because of their excellent minimal sound esthetic, and reduced structures get loaded with funky samples - it’s down to Fischer’s great ability to fuse that everything melts into a smooth whole. Opening a scenic window to keypad landscapes of exuberant lushness, he is recreating the melodic undertone of Detroit by indulging in an abundance of strings and sparkly key chords as demonstrated in "Chiffre" and "Advanced Panorama", and celebrating the absolute rationality techno that sets the scene at the beginning of the album only to drift into vocal-driven, housey dimensions that revive disco in a mainstage fashion, the experienced resident DJ Fischer knows how to please any crowd: by surprising them with the expected, avoiding the all to obvious and sounding completely catchy, all at the same time. The concept of "Bryzant Games" is as simple as it is logical. The sixteen fresh, exciting tracks are split up into four thematic EPs in distinct sound colours aimed to appeal to its respective audience. Delivered in a Vinyl Box the flavours range from crazy club tunage and mind-blowing main stage burners to more eclectic electro sounds, "Bryzant Games" has something for everybody. It’s been a great year for Leipzig-born and bred Christian Fischer who has been at it constantly: His Clubtech Panorama mix compilation was only just going down to much critical acclaim when it was already outmatched by the release of the first ever Deckmonsters album. Produced in conjunction with Brazilian super star DJ Murphy who is the perfect counterpart, the two DJs toured the biggest European electronic music festivals in order to wow the puzzled audience with their turntable antics. It’s incredible that Fischer, at it in his purest essence, still found time in the studio to complete his most accomplished work to date. "Bryzant Games" is a fascinating dance epic that lets the pumping heart skip a beat or two. Game over. Christian Fischer on Facebook

Psycatron live from Distillery Leipzig (GER) 2011 is set to be a big year for Irish techno duo Psycatron aka Paul Hamill & Dave Lievense as they take their project to the next level. 2009 Started off with a string of high profile productions being released on some of the world's most respected labels, they received props from some of the biggest names in the business and record sales flying high in the Beatport charts. 2009 began with the Location Unknown EP on Fergie's Rekluse imprint. The lead track 'Takefive' was a huge smash at the Miami Winter Music Conference with everyone from DJ Hell to Sasha (who was closing his sets it with) making it one of the biggest records of the conference. From Belfast to Detroit followed, with the master Carl Craig signing 'Deeper Shades Of Black' for Planet E Communications making them the first Irish artist to appear on the Detroit imprint. 'Deeper Shades' spent 6 weeks in the Beatport Top 20 peaking at Number 5 with only Cirez D, Adam Beyer, Joris Voorn and Sebastian Leger standing in the way of pole position. Then from Detroit to Sao Paolo in Brazil, where Christian Smith's Tronic Music delivered the devastating 'Directions' and 'Tipping Point' with charts and plays coming in from everyone from Dubfire to Digweed. 'Directions' remixes followed soon after from Matt Nordstrom and Fergie well as featuring on Christian Smith's Platforms compilation for Renaissance. A bit closer to home and an appearance on London based Simple Records demonstrated a deeper, subtle edge at the opposite end of the spectrum from their previous big-room releases but still retaining the signature melodic touches with the 'Orchestral Manouvres In The Park' EP showing up on Will Saul's highly respected imprint. As if to prove that getting signed to Planet E was no flash in the pan, they then went on to sign a deal with legendary Belgian imprint R&S Records home to the likes of Aphex Twin, Joey Beltram and Derrick May who released 'Is What it Is' in November, before rounding the year off with a specially commissioned Transitions mix for John Digweed's radio show. “I think Planet E are one of the most revered labels in the world and it never ceases to amaze us when we meet other well established producers who tell us how much they'd love to release a record on the label and how jealous they are of us! We went from a position where nobody knew about us to releasing on Planet E and all of a sudden lots of doors begin to open and people start taking notice.”PH As the list of Psycatron supporters continues to grow, it starts to read like a who's who of quality underground electronica with everyone from Ewan Pearson to Joris Voorn, DJ Hell, Dave Clarke, Paul Woolford and even Martin L Gore from Depeche Mode all getting behind Psycatron. “I've been into electronic music since i was a kid, from hearing eighties electro-pop on the radio i became a huge Depeche Mode fan (and still am) and their influence creeps into a lot of our music. I played piano for a few years as a kid, but never followed through on it as what I really wanted to play was synths and DJ.”PH With the theme set to continue well into 2010 with Psycatron tracks appearing on the world-famous Radio 1 Essential Mix two weeks running with Simian Mobile Disco and Christian Smith favouring them in their sets, while remix offers have since come flooding in with labels including Cocoon, Bedrock, International Deejay Gigolo, and Secret Cinema's Gemm Recordings all notched on the bedpost for the year. Having spent the past seven years hosting their residency at the world-famous Shine and the Stiff Kitten in Belfast where they've supported some of the biggest DJ's on the planet, 2011 will be the year where Psycatron's winning combination of killer DJ sets and live shows will see them emerge as one of the most exciting acts of the year as their profile continues to grow on a global scale. “When we play live, it's all our own music which we perform live using a couple of laptops and controllers and some keyboards. We also throw in some loops and samples from people who have influenced us over the years and little surprises along the way.” PH Big festivals and events like Hitting Movement 2010 in Detroit in May with Carl Craig and millions more are becoming the norm now for Psycatron, they have played all the big Irish festivals and recently being asked by Dave Clarke to play his party at Amsterdam Dance Event with himself and Green Velvet and friends. Rex Club in Paris has come calling giving psycatron their undeniable stamp of approval and with shows in Naples and Helsinki its easy to see that psycatron are really turning some heads. “It's only when we go abroad that it becomes apparent through meeting people at our shows how far our music has travelled. It's easy to forget when you are back in Belfast on a tiny little island the impact our releases have had around the world, i guess that's a lot to do with working with truly global labels like Planet E, but it's a lovely feeling having strangers come up to us at gig to talk about our music” PH Exiting collaborations are to continue with Detroit legend Blake Baxter on 'She Is Music' which came out on Planet E in October. Also and a new project with Paul Woolford on tracks Thunder/CLoud 9 for Cocoon which is the start of ongoing project with more tracks in the pipeline! An AV twist for the live show is being developed at the moment so expect to see this hitting the clubs 2011. "Psycatron perform an outstanding live set " Dave Clarke "Their tracks combine relentless energy and groove with bundles of emotionand tension, to make for an all-encompassing sound that is perfect for those big arenas and club rooms. Truly 21st century techno". Data Transmission "These guys are fantastic, definitely a name to look out for" John Digweed "Their hybrid, genre-bending live set sees them splice, filter and mess with anything - from their own productions to underground house and techno classics - with devastating effect" DJ Mag. "I LOVE Psycatron" Laurent Garnier "Psycatron is one of the acts of the year" Agoria "One of the most exciting outfits of their genre" Data Transmission Psycatron on Facebook

Funk D'Void is a DJ and producer who has been at the forefront of the global electronic music scene since the mid-90s. He started Djing at around the tender age of 15, running two under-18 clubs himself – a perfect start to his career. Knowing his vocation to music from an early age after being brought up by his professional pianist mother, Lars never had any doubt as to where his future would lie. House music changed his life, the early Chicago sound specifically, and hearing the certain sounds during his childhood stirred something inside him; the 808 drum machine used on Marvin Gaye's “Sexual Healing” secured his fascination with these electronic sounds – the turning point over to the Detroit techno sound was almost a spiritual moment as it forged his unique sound that would follow over the coming years – visceral, soulful and without compromise. After a string of hits over the years (“Jack Me Off”, “Bad Coffee” “Emotional Content”) plus some killer remixes for the likes of Underworld, New Order and Kevin Saunderson, he is probably best known for the end-of-nighter 'Diabla' which bridged house and techno (and was flogged by everyone from Danny Howells to Sven Vath). And if you look carefully, recently you’ll also spy the name ‘L. Sandberg’ in the liner notes of releases by "newcomer" Francois Dubois, whose “Blood” and “I Try” were huge underground hits of 2006 and 2007 respectively. Much in demand DJ and critically acclaimed producer, his Djing style is everything you expect a true music lover’s taste to be: he is comfortable and adept at moving any dancefloor, the proof being that he is one of the busiest Djs on the circuit today, and has been for the last decade. You only have to ask today’s heroes and legends what they think of the talented Scotsman: “ Amid the sea of average disc jockeys there are a few gems that really do deserve your attention, Lars Sandberg ( Funk D’Void ) is one one of them , consistently breaking new ground and delivering quality, the man is a legend in my house, and should be in yours” NICK WARREN "Lars is phenomenal - an incredibly sound DJ, as well as being one of my favourite producers of the last ten years." DANNY HOWELLS "Moving the dancefloor from the 90's to the 21st century, basements to festivals, Funk D’Void is right up there with the very best. He's provided the soundtrack to nights that have become legend. Always distinctive - grooves with soul that rock it. He lives it, loves it and makes the T-shirt. Vive Le Deep" ANDY CATO (GROOVE ARMADA) "One of the most forward thinking DJ producers of the last ten years. An inspiration to me in the way i think about music, and make it." NIC FANCIULLI “Funk D’Void...quality music all the way. Top producer and DJ” HERNAN CATTANEO "A true music connoisseur, a partyman and a DJ's DJ, one of the finest, sonically trustworthy and consistent selectors on the planet." TOM MIDDLETON “Lars is a proper DJ who can take things in any direction because he KNOWS music. From the deepest of house to the funkiest of techno the crowds love him and the quality music he pushes in his sets.” JAMIE “JIMPSTER’ ODELL https://www.facebook.com/pages/Funk-DVoid/8709108603 www.somarecords.com www.urbantorque.com

Hannes & Holger met behind the decks in spring 2008 at one of those openair parties which start as a gathering of friends and overflow in a park-rave of thousand euphoric people. Since then Hannes & Holger concentrate their energies on their collaboration: AKA AKA. Under contract with Oliver Koletzki’s label Stil vor Talent, March 2009 saw their debut 'Voegeln EP' released and supported by artists like Dubfire, Claude VonStroke and Troy Pierce. Their track 'Woody Woodpecker' stayed for one month on the Beatport minimal charts at place 1 and also the vinyl version hopped from 0 to 1 by release day on decks.de. In May 2010 it was awarded the with the 3rd place of the annual Beatport Music Awards in the category „best track minimal“. Also their 2nd and 3rd release on Stil vor Talent being played by Luciano, Adam Byer, Sharam (Deep Dish)Gus Gus and many more became a huge success. In October 2009 they started their own label Burlesque Musique which focuses on on non-conform minimal and techhouse influenced by swing, jazz, balkan, funk and other funny but danceable music. Besides Burlesque Musique they run the already since 2005 established music and party label Pentagonik. Known for their driving liveact and DJset the two play in most of Berlin's clubs like Arenaclub, Watergate, Maria, Tresor or Ritter Butzke. Travelling around Europe they visited clubs in Zurich, Madrid, Moscow, Turin, Vienna, Cologne, Hamburg, Munich etc. In March 2010 they played their first live performance at Watergate featuring their trumpeter Thalstroem who plays the trumpet and the Electronic Wind Instrument which adds a new floating layer to their music.
Seemingly leading the pack of Italy’s rising stars is Uto Karem, who in just a short period of time has produced hit after hit with forward thinking dance tracks that are fast becoming staples for DJs everywhere. With an ability to infuse cutting edge machine music with soulful grooves. Uto Karem is currently making a real name for himself. His productions have found him fans that include the likes of Dubfire, Richie Hawtin, John Acquaviva, Marco Carola, Chris Liebing and many more. Having spent his junior years in London, Uto's music ear was first shaken by bands such as New Order, Depeche Mode and Soft Cell. On his return to Italy at the age of 15, it was Underground Resistance, Novamute and Plus 8 that were having most impact on the young man. In his late teens his DJ career took off, and over the years he has supported many of the worlds greatest deck talents. As with most of today's artists, the natural progression was to produce and after two years of study, he graduated in Audio Engineering. At the end of 2007 he created "agile recordings" a new label born to promote & support quality music. the first release, has become a top seller, being sold out in less than one month.
Carsten experimented with different sounds and synths but was not inspired to make music on his own until he heard the first „HR Clubnight“ radio show in1990 mixed by Sven Vaeth. Soon Carsten visited the club „Omen“ to see his favourite DJ in full color and live in action. But he had to wait until 1999 as he again saw Sven Djing at the MTW Night as the electronic music changed his life. He also was interested in the whole music business, so he made this business to the center of his life, doing his work experience at „Cocoon“ whilest his study. Being in touch with his idol Vaeth he began a DJ career on his own on and soon was chosen together with Dominik Eulberg as on of the newcomers of the year 2004 in the most popular Techno Magazin "Groove". Placed in this top ten he began to rock the clubs, Djing with people like Richie Hawtin, Dominik Eulberg, Tiefschwarz, Ricardo Villalobos, Anthony Rother, Karotte and besides many more of course Sven Vaeth. In 2007 he released his first Mix CD "Minimal Techno" and 2008 this Mix CD was one of the most popular Compilations in the Techno business and Carsten had bookings in every famous Clubs in Germany and all over Europe. 2010 he started his new Project: the Label and Booking Agency “Spielstaub” that Carsten makes together with Michael Heise. In january 2011 Spielstaub will keep on growing and will take with Markus Gaetano another partner on board. Furthermore the new label Balushi will be started together with Pig&Dan. Also for the producing part 2011 will be a promising year. In addition to a variety of remixes for well-known labels there are also planned many releases with producing partner Mark Gaetano, who will be bookable together with Carsten Schorr as a live-act. We are excited to see how it goes on.
Named in DJ Mag as the "breakthrough DJ of 2008" by Adam Beyer, the last year has proven to be nothing short of that title for Kyle Geiger. Within the first year of his premier vinyl release, Kyle has achieved international notoriety, a feat that many never accomplish in their entire career as a DJ/producer. Having played literally all over America, the Indiana-based producer is set to storm the international scene. With two European tours under his belt already, including two performances at the widely touted Berghain in Berlin (Voted by ResidentAdvisor.net as the 1 club in the world), rounded off with a stop at the Dance Valley festival in Amsterdam this summer, Kyle is certainly prepared for the big things 2009 is already promising to bring. Kyle's quick rise in the international dance scene is due to both his production prowess, and his explosive decks and effects DJ sets that bridge the divide between techno and minimal. Kyle is not a producer first, DJ second, but chooses to look at both aspects of DJ and production as a whole; one is not complete without the other. Originally inspired by the harder, percussive stylings of late 90's Swedish techno featured on seminal labels like Drumcode and Code Red, Kyle has witnessed the evolution of the genre as it morphed into a slower, groove based sound. Still loving the energy and power of the earlier phases of techno while embracing the genre's changes, Kyle has refined his productions and DJ sets into what very well may be a new breed of techno that pushes things forward for the next generation of techno to come. Initially urged on by long time friends and minimal techno veterans JPLS and Skoozbot, a demo made it to Drumcode label manager Adam Beyer who was on the hunt for what he describes as a "modern techno sound". Beyer immediately put Kyle's tracks to the test at the 2007 Winter Music Conference and invited him onboard as a Drumcode artist. With two highly regarded releases on Adam Beyer's Drumcode label, remixes for Droid Recordings, Renovatio and MB Elektronics, and licensed tracks for the legendary Music Man and Harthouse labels' mix compilations, the future is proving to be a very promising place for Kyle Geiger as he continues to take his widely recognized DJ set around the world and to the next level.
