The Federal Reserve is entering a pivotal phase, and the decisions it makes now will define the next era of monetary policy. Lance Roberts and The Fed Guy, Joseph Wang, examine the structural forces putting the Fed at a crossroads—from rate cuts and shifting labor-market dynamics to the long-term impact of AI, tariff-driven inflation, and changes in the Fed's balance-sheet strategy. We explore why markets appear bullish on economic growth despite weakening employment data, how tariff inflation may be a one-time impulse, and what a redesigned policy framework could look like as banks, regulators, and political leaders debate the Fed's future role. If you want a grounded assessment of where monetary policy is heading and how structural changes could reshape markets, this episode provides the context investors need. 0:00 - INTRO 1:07 - Fed Rate Cuts & Commentary 5:37 - Markets Are Bullish About Economic Growth vs Employment Data; Tariff Inflation? Markets are heading into year-end with optimism still firmly embedded in prices, but the economic data are telling a more complicated story. Lance Roberts examines the growing gap between the Federal Reserve's soft-landing narrative and what inflation, employment, consumer spending, and earnings expectations are actually signaling. While markets have stabilized following recent volatility, participation remains narrow, sentiment is elevated, and valuations appear priced for a smooth economic outcome in 2026. Lance Roberts breaks down the technical backdrop, including key support and resistance levels, momentum conditions, and volatility trends, along with the limited—but potentially market-moving—economic catalysts ahead. We also discuss why falling inflation driven by weakening demand presents a very different risk profile than supply-driven disinflation, and what that means for investors as liquidity thins into year-end. Finally, we outline risk-managed portfolio considerations if the Fed's assumptions prove optimistic and markets are forced to reprice expectations. 0:00 - INTRO 0:19 - Christmas Week Preview & Valuation Ranges for 2026 3:28 - Markets Are Doing What Markets Do 10:35 - Challenges to the Fed's Soft Landing Narrative 14:06 - Earnings Growth Expectations Illustrated (charts) 20:22 - Risks to Look for in 2026 24:21 - Forecast Comparisons - Then & Now 28:00 - Valuations Are Elevated Everywhere 30:05 - Multiple Expansion Estimates - Three Scenarios 37:28 - Averages Returns Examined 39:06 - The Range of Outcomes - Not a Prediction 42:32 - Markets Have Been Too Easy 45:30 - What Happens If...? 47:43 - Coming Attractions Hosted by RIA Advisors Chief Investment Strategist, Lance Roberts, CIO Produced by Brent Clanton, Executive Producer ------- Watch Today's Full Video on our YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4EaxzOPEWc&list=PLVT8LcWPeAugpcGzM8hHyEP11lE87RYPe&index=1 ------- Articles mentioned in this report: 2026 Market Outlook Based On Valuations https://realinvestmentadvice.com/resources/blog/2026-market-outlook-based-on-valuations/ "Fed's Soft Landing Narrative Meets Economic Data" https://realinvestmentadvice.com/resources/blog/feds-soft-landing-narrative-meets-economic-data/ ------- The latest installment of our new feature, Before the Bell, "Too Soon for Santa?," is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EFSU2vZeFE&list=PLwNgo56zE4RAbkqxgdj-8GOvjZTp9_Zlz&index=1 ------- REGISTER for our 2026 Economic Summit, "The Future of Digital Assets, Artificial Intelligence, and Investing:" https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2026-ria-economic-summit-tickets-1765951641899?aff=oddtdtcreator ------- Watch our previous show, "What Great Financial Planning Looks Like," here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhVoQc7adgU&list=PLVT8LcWPeAugpcGzM8hHyEP11lE87RYPe&index=1 -------- Get more info & commentary: https://realinvestm entadvice.com/newsletter/ -------- SUBSCRIBE to The Real Investment Show here: http://www.youtube.com/c/TheRealInvestmentShow -------- Visit our Site: https://www.realinvestmentadvice.com Contact Us: 1-855-RIA-PLAN -------- Subscribe to SimpleVisor: https://www.simplevisor.com/register-new -------- Connect with us on social: https://twitter.com/RealInvAdvice https://twitter.com/LanceRoberts https://www.facebook.com/RealInvestmentAdvice/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/realinvestmentadvice/ #SantaClausRally #MarketOutlook #TechnicalAnalysis #RiskManagement #MarketTrends #FederalReserve #MarketOutlook #EconomicData #InvestingRisk #StockMarket

Markets are doing what they often do this time of year—attempting to stabilize and rally amid choppy trading. While some are already declaring that the Santa Claus Rally is "dead," history suggests patience is warranted. The official Santa Rally window hasn't even begun yet, and statistically, the odds still favor a year-end lift. Lance Roberts breaks down why recent pullbacks below key moving averages triggered algorithmic selling—and why disciplined investors avoid knee-jerk reactions. With markets rebounding above short-term technical levels and consolidating gains from earlier in the year, the bigger takeaway is this: how you managed risk mattered far more than what you owned. As we head toward year-end and look into next year, remember—markets rotate, leadership changes, and yesterday's winners are rarely tomorrow's. Stay patient, stay disciplined, and stay focused on risk management. What should a great financial planning experience actually look like? For many investors, "financial planning" is reduced to product selection, performance chasing, or a one-time retirement projection that never gets revisited. In reality, a high-quality financial planning experience is far more comprehensive — and far more valuable. Richard Rosso breaks down the essential elements of effective financial planning. True financial planning is not about predicting markets or selling products. It is about building a durable framework that helps investors make better decisions through market cycles, life changes, and economic uncertainty. Whether you are working with an advisor or managing your finances independently, understanding what a great planning experience looks like can help you avoid costly mistakes and set more realistic expectations for long-term success. 0:00 - INTRO 0:20 - Financial Planning, PBS, & Benny Hill 4:08 - Comparisons of Big Box Brokerages' Financial Plans 7:52 - Financial Goals are Being Re-shuffled 12:54 - Financial Planners' Meaningless Titles 15:32 - Financial Advisors as Holistic Partners 23:00 - Maintaining Behavioral Balance 27:32 - Bad Gift-giving & Financial Swiffers 32:50 - Accumulation & De-cumulation Expertise Hosted by RIA Advisors Director of Financial Planning, Richard Rosso, CFP Produced by Brent Clanton, Executive Producer ------- Watch Today's Full Video on our YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhVoQc7adgU&list=PLVT8LcWPeAugpcGzM8hHyEP11lE87RYPe&index=1 ------- The latest installment of our new feature, Before the Bell, "Markets Oversold After Key Support Break," is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ITeHTYtt1Q&list=PLwNgo56zE4RAbkqxgdj-8GOvjZTp9_Zlz&index=1 ------- REGISTER for our 2026 Economic Summit, "The Future of Digital Assets, Artificial Intelligence, and Investing:" https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2026-ria-economic-summit-tickets-1765951641899?aff=oddtdtcreator ------- Watch our previous show, "Is the 60/40 Portfolio Dead? Markets broke below both the 20- and 50-day moving averages, triggering a short-term MACD sell signal and raising concerns about near-term weakness. While technical damage should not be ignored, markets are becoming oversold on a relative strength basis, which historically increases the odds of a short-term bounce. Importantly, market bottoms tend to be brief, and prior episodes have shown that support breaks can be quickly reversed. The key issue now is not the intraday violation of moving averages, but where markets ultimately close the week. A sustained close below key support levels would suggest additional downside risk heading into the Christmas-shortened trading week. However, after four consecutive down days, selling pressure is becoming extended, increasing the probability of at least a reflexive rally. Investors feeling uncomfortable with recent volatility may consider using a bounce to rebalance portfolios, reduce excess equity exposure, and take profits where appropriate. This also presents an opportunity for tax-loss harvesting as select stocks are becoming more attractively priced. Importantly, much of the recent weakness has been driven by mega-cap stocks, while equal-weight indexes are beginning to close the performance gap—suggesting improving market breadth. Sector rotation is also underway, with strength emerging in Energy, Healthcare, and Staples. Staying disciplined and attentive to these shifts may help uncover selective opportunities even as headline risk remains elevated. Markets briefly retested the 50-day moving average before rebounding toward break-even, remaining locked in a broader consolidation range. While sell signals are currently in place and relative strength continues to normalize, short-term weakness and choppy trading may persist. Importantly, this pullback is creating a more constructive setup as markets work off oversold conditions, potentially laying the groundwork for renewed buying interest into year-end. That said, seasonal strength is not guaranteed. December has not always delivered positive returns, and risk remains elevated as portfolio managers continue year-end positioning and rebalancing across large-cap, small- and mid-cap, and international markets. Investors should remain focused on risk management, discipline, and flexibility as volatility creates both challenges and tactical opportunities. The Federal Reserve cut rates by a quarter point Wednesday, but the real story is the division behind the decision. For the first time since 2021, three Fed governors dissented--an uncommon break in policy unity that raises new questions about inflation progress, economic risk, and the path of monetary policy into 2026. Lance Roberts & Michael Lebowitz explain why the Fed cut now, what the dissent signals, and how a split vote may affect market volatility, yields, and expectations for future rate moves. We also look at how past dissent has aligned with turning points in policy cycles and what this could mean for portfolios as financial conditions continue to ease. Markets bounced sharply after the Federal Reserve cut rates by a quarter-point, pushing major indexes back toward all-time highs. As of Wednesday's close, buy signals remain in place, but relative strength is stretched, and a mild pullback is taking shape this morning—led by weakness in the NASDAQ following Oracle's selloff. With all major indexes still within 2% of record levels, investors should remember that when the Fed cuts near market highs, volatility typically rises over the next one to three months. Historically, this pattern produces short-term corrections but tends to resolve with higher prices over the next 10–12 months. Markets remain in a broader consolidation range, and a normal retracement toward the 50-DMA between now and Christmas would set the stage for a stronger year-end rally. Based on current trends, 2025 looks likely to close with gains near 17%—and we are preparing updated valuation and price-target ranges for 2026 in an upcoming article. In today's pre-market brief, we break down: • Why NASDAQ weakness is no surprise • How Fed policy and "QE/Not-QE" shape volatility expectations • What to expect from a consolidation into year-end • Key levels to watch into the seasonal rally window Hosted by RIA Chief Investment Strategist, Lance Roberts, CIO Produced by Brent Clanton, Executive Producer ------- Watch the Video version of this report on our YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/gnorFZc1qM8 ------- REGISTER for our 2026 Economic Summit, "The Future of Digital Assets, Artificial Intelligence, and Investing:" https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2026-ria-economic-summit-tickets-1765951641899?aff=oddtdtcreator ------- Get more info & commentary: https://realinvestmentadvice.com/insights/real-investment-daily/ ------- Visit our Site: https://www.realinvestmentadvice.com Contact Us: 1-855-RIA-PLAN -------- Subscribe to SimpleVisor: https://www.simplevisor.com/register-new -------- Connect with us on social: https://twitter.com/RealInvAdvice https://twitter.com/LanceRoberts https://www.facebook.com/RealInvestmentAdvice/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/realinvestmentadvice/ #StockMarket #FederalReserve #InterestRates #MarketVolatility #NASDAQ

It's Fed Day, and today's Live Q&A covers what investors should expect as markets position around the announcement, why volatility may pick up afterward, and how this week's action shapes the potential for a Santa Claus Rally. We also discuss whether the Fed has stepped back from its inflation mandate, what that means for long bonds, and how Treasury supply-and-demand dynamics factor into portfolio risk. Lance Roberts & Danny Ratliff review the growth outlook for the AI sector, the power-cost assumptions built into datacenter models, the economic effects of the "One Big Beautiful Bill," and the $125 billion in tariff revenue collected this year—along with what tariffs really contribute to inflation. Additional topics include how to read 2x–3x standard deviations using Bollinger Band concepts, which data streams matter most (and where to find them), the link between inflation and economic growth, and practical insights on silver, ETF buy-and-hold strategies, NUA planning, valuation challenges when stocks trade at 25x earnings, and the realities of the "dollar debasement" narrative. Markets traded flat on Tuesday, holding near the top of their recent trading range. With today's Fed announcement, the potential for a short-term pullback rises—especially with markets still overbought and stretched above key moving averages. A move back toward the 20-DMA or 50-DMA wouldn't be surprising. The VIX is also signaling a possible uptick in volatility, hinting at a VIX buy signal. For those running aggressively long positions, this may be an ideal moment to reassess and trim risk around the edges. Bitcoin—often a proxy for speculative sentiment—has bounced recently but is now approaching overhead resistance, reinforcing a more cautious stance through the next several sessions. Market sloppiness is showing up as mutual fund distributions continue to create choppiness across the major indices. After the rally off the Thanksgiving lows, markets have spent more than a month stuck in a consolidation range, struggling to make progress while remaining elevated above the 200-DMA and overbought on a momentum buy signal. A pullback to retest the 20-DMA wouldn't be surprising. This week's focus is the Federal Reserve meeting, where commentary—especially anything hawkish—could influence trading and potentially spark short-term volatility. Barring an unexpected shift, markets still appear on track to close 2025 with mid-teens returns, setting up bigger questions about what that could mean heading into 2026. Markets rallied on Wednesday before selling off into the close, but technically this is all normal behavior. After a mild 5% pullback in early November, stocks are simply consolidating gains from the April lows. Now, markets are pushing back toward resistance at the previous highs—an area that may produce some short-term volatility. If markets can break above November's highs, it opens the door for a traditional Santa Claus Rally into year-end. Even a pullback to the 50-DMA heading into Christmas would be a healthy setup. With markets on a buy signal from relatively low levels, the odds still lean toward a strong finish to 2025. AI stocks inside the Mag-7 are no longer moving in unison. We're now seeing a clear split between the names that are extremely overbought and those entering oversold, opportunity-driven territory. Apple ($AAPL) ripped to all-time highs and is now heavily deviated from its long-term means — historically a tough level to sustain. Google ($GOOGL) has been the recent "darling," but it remains extremely overbought and is beginning an early correction phase. We rebalanced our Google position back to target last week based on that setup. On the other side of the spectrum, Nvidia ($NVDA) has pulled back and is still above its 200-DMA, though the gap hasn't fully closed. Palantir ($PLTR) has triggered a buy signal, showing rotation inside the AI space. The message? When one part of the AI sector becomes stretched, opportunities often emerge somewhere else. Managing position sizes and rebalancing becomes critical into year-end. Markets kicked off the first trading week of December with a weak open but rallied off the lows. Despite some early sloppiness, the major indices remain well-above their 100-day moving average, and the MACD Buy signal remains intact. Momentum is rebuilding, and a basing pattern appears to be forming across the board, including the NASDAQ. The bigger headline today is Bitcoin. After a sharp pullback and several weeks of ETF outflows, Bitcoin is now oversold and flashing renewed buy-signal conditions. ETF inflows have returned, options activity is picking up on the long side, and the price action suggests a potential base forming—though confirmation will take time. A rally back toward the 100-DMA would still offer meaningful upside without implying new highs. Meanwhile, the U.S. Dollar continues to base following its recent rally, which has helped fuel short-term strength in Gold. Risk-on sentiment is beginning to re-emerge across asset classes as investors rotate back into markets heading into year-end. This pre-market update breaks down the technical backdrop, Bitcoin's improving structure, and what the risk-on rotation means for traders as we move through December. Should you wait for a 5% correction before putting money to work? In today's pre-market update, Lance Roberts explains why waiting for the "perfect pullback" is one of the most costly mistakes investors make. A 5% correction is normal volatility—it happens once or twice a year. Even 10% corrections occur regularly. This year alone, markets already saw a near-20% pullback in April and a 5% dip in early November. If you're always waiting for the next pullback, your investment window becomes too narrow—and you risk missing the bulk of the market's gains. Lance walks through real-time chart examples to show why staying invested, keeping some cash ready, and adding on dips is a far better strategy than going all defensive. Markets trend higher over time due to inflation and economic growth, and current indicators—credit spreads, volatility, and market internals—show no signs of a major 30–50% draw down on the horizon. As Peter Lynch famously said: "More money is lost preparing for bear markets than in the bear markets themselves." If you're waiting for the next 5% correction, you're likely missing more upside than you're protecting on the downside. Markets have been under pressure lately—especially in Technology—as investors worry about stretched valuations, widening credit default swaps, and whether the AI trade is finally losing steam. Despite the noise, this remains a minor, healthy pullback of roughly 3%, not a full-blown correction. In this pre-market update, we break down why the decline feels worse than it is, why the next two weeks of November historically favor stronger performance, and how mutual fund distributions in December may create volatility before a potential year-end rally. Nvidia is today's major market mover. After an extraordinary run from below $100 in April to nearly $186 today, the stock has pulled back to support but remains in a solid long-term uptrend. If you've been waiting for an entry point, the current setup may offer one, with $200 as a logical near-term target. We also analyze key technical levels for the S&P 500: • A close above the 50-DMA keeps the bullish trend intact • A break lower shifts focus to the 100-DMA • Four straight down days have worked off October's overbought surge, increasing odds of a bounce toward 6,700–6,750 If you didn't harvest profits earlier, selling into weakness now may not be ideal. Using a real-world scenario from a viewer—age 64, a $700,000 lump-sum offer, and a sizable 401(k)—we explore the risks, trade-offs, and questions every retiree should ask before making the call. 0:00 - INTRO 0:19 - Why Nvidia Matters 2:53 - Yes, Virginia, Draw Downs Happen 9:50 - 2026 Economic Summit Preview 10:39 - It's Just a 3% Pullback 13:01 - The Risk Range Report explainer 16:56 - E-Mail Query: Lump Sum or Pension? 19:45 - Pensions are Going the Way of the Dinosaurs 21:29 - Do Not Have a Lump Sum Check Written to You 22:55 - Pensions have no COLA 25:01 - Plan for Higher Taxes in the Future 26:49 - The YouTube Poll 29:07 - Once You're Done, You're Done 33:58 - Lump Sums & Annuities: Be Careful! 38:30 - Understand Your Options

Markets are pulling back and investor anxiety is rising, with the S&P down about 3% from the peak and the NASDAQ off roughly 5%. Headlines warn of "relentless selling," but this is exactly what happens after a powerful rally. We just experienced one of the strongest six-month runs since 1990—corrections are part of the process. In today's pre-market update, we break down why this drawdown isn't a crisis, why risk management matters even in bull markets, and how investor narratives can quickly fall apart. The recent weakness in Bitcoin and NASDAQ lines up with technical signals that flashed weeks ago, including a clear MACD sell on Bitcoin. This isn't the end of the world. It's how markets work. Futures are pointing higher this morning, but the setup still looks like a weak open for Wall Street. With upside resistance near 6,900, the market remains stuck in a well-defined trading range. The big catalyst this week? Nvidia earnings, which could determine whether this consolidation resolves higher—or if we're watching the early stages of a topping process. Short-term signals remain on a sell, and relative strength is cooling. But bullish year-end factors like corporate buybacks, momentum chasing, and neutral professional sentiment continue to provide a floor. The bullish trend remains intact as a momentum buy signal sits on the verge of triggering. Under the surface, rotation is driving the story. Healthcare continues to outperform, even outpacing Tech. Staples are starting to recover from deeply oversold levels, with a potential momentum shift if they clear the 20- and 50-DMA. Finance is improving from oversold conditions with strengthening relative strength. Meanwhile, Disney beat earnings and boosted buybacks, though content remains its weak spot. Amazon continues to support Consumer Discretionary, but strip it out, and activity slows noticeably.
