Is the era of Fed groupthink finally coming to an end? For over a decade, the Federal Reserve has operated under a powerful consensus framework—one where dissent has been rare and the Chair's view has dominated policy outcomes. But shifting politics, rising dissenting votes, and increasing disagreements among FOMC members may signal a new regime change at the Fed. Markets rallied on Wednesday before selling off into the close, but technically this is all normal behavior. After a mild 5% pullback in early November, stocks are simply consolidating gains from the April lows. Now, markets are pushing back toward resistance at the previous highs—an area that may produce some short-term volatility. If markets can break above November's highs, it opens the door for a traditional Santa Claus Rally into year-end. Even a pullback to the 50-DMA heading into Christmas would be a healthy setup. With markets on a buy signal from relatively low levels, the odds still lean toward a strong finish to 2025. Volatility may return over the next couple of weeks, and headlines will inevitably warn that "Santa isn't coming this year." But historically, two back-to-back negative Decembers are extremely rare. The technical backdrop continues to support a year-end push higher. AI stocks inside the Mag-7 are no longer moving in unison. We're now seeing a clear split between the names that are extremely overbought and those entering oversold, opportunity-driven territory. Apple ($AAPL) ripped to all-time highs and is now heavily deviated from its long-term means — historically a tough level to sustain. Google ($GOOGL) has been the recent "darling," but it remains extremely overbought and is beginning an early correction phase. We rebalanced our Google position back to target last week based on that setup. On the other side of the spectrum, Nvidia ($NVDA) has pulled back and is still above its 200-DMA, though the gap hasn't fully closed. Palantir ($PLTR) has triggered a buy signal, showing rotation inside the AI space. The message? When one part of the AI sector becomes stretched, opportunities often emerge somewhere else. Managing position sizes and rebalancing becomes critical into year-end. Markets kicked off the first trading week of December with a weak open but rallied off the lows. Despite some early sloppiness, the major indices remain well-above their 100-day moving average, and the MACD Buy signal remains intact. Momentum is rebuilding, and a basing pattern appears to be forming across the board, including the NASDAQ. The bigger headline today is Bitcoin. After a sharp pullback and several weeks of ETF outflows, Bitcoin is now oversold and flashing renewed buy-signal conditions. ETF inflows have returned, options activity is picking up on the long side, and the price action suggests a potential base forming—though confirmation will take time. A rally back toward the 100-DMA would still offer meaningful upside without implying new highs. Meanwhile, the U.S. Dollar continues to base following its recent rally, which has helped fuel short-term strength in Gold. Risk-on sentiment is beginning to re-emerge across asset classes as investors rotate back into markets heading into year-end. This pre-market update breaks down the technical backdrop, Bitcoin's improving structure, and what the risk-on rotation means for traders as we move through December. Most investors fear bear markets—but history shows they play a critical role in building future returns. In this episode, Lance Roberts explains why market declines are not only normal, but necessary for long-term financial success. We break down how bear markets reset valuations, reduce speculation, improve forward returns, and provide disciplined investors with better long-term outcomes. Instead of focusing on predictions, we focus on the importance of managing risk, controlling emotions, and understanding how full market cycles work. 0:00 - INTRO 0:19 - Manage Portfolios for Markets, not Narratives 3:33 - Should You Wait for Correction to Invest? 9:12 - 2026 Economic Summit 10:15 - Markets' Statistics for December 15:14 - Record Levels of Leverage & ETF's 16:54 - Volatility is Different from Bear Market 18:49 - Corrections & Bear Markets are a Good Thing 20:43 - Forest Firers & Recessions are a Good Thing 22:39 - The Fed's 3rd Mandate 25:45 - The Importance of Understanding Full Market Cycles 26:59 - Valuations Always Revert to the Mean 29:50 - Delaying Corrections, Recession Results in Worse Pain Later 32:46 - A 5% Correction is the Price of Admission 34:03 - Get Rid of Narratives 35:10 - The Difference Between Suffering and Surviving 37:16 - Resist Chasing markets 38:10 - Buying & Selling Drives Prices 39:36 - Remain Emotionally Balanced 41:40 - Importance of Monitoring Macro, Technical Signals 42:11 - Importance of an Investment Policy Statement 44:12 - Coming Attractions

Should you wait for a 5% correction before putting money to work? In today's pre-market update, Lance Roberts explains why waiting for the "perfect pullback" is one of the most costly mistakes investors make. A 5% correction is normal volatility—it happens once or twice a year. Even 10% corrections occur regularly. This year alone, markets already saw a near-20% pullback in April and a 5% dip in early November. If you're always waiting for the next pullback, your investment window becomes too narrow—and you risk missing the bulk of the market's gains. Lance walks through real-time chart examples to show why staying invested, keeping some cash ready, and adding on dips is a far better strategy than going all defensive. Markets trend higher over time due to inflation and economic growth, and current indicators—credit spreads, volatility, and market internals—show no signs of a major 30–50% draw down on the horizon. As Peter Lynch famously said: "More money is lost preparing for bear markets than in the bear markets themselves." If you're waiting for the next 5% correction, you're likely missing more upside than you're protecting on the downside. Full market cycles matter more today than at any point in the last 15 years. Lance Roberts breaks down why valuations, history, and market structure all point to a simple truth: Every bull market is only half the story. The other half is the bear. Lance's approach isn't bullish or bearish. It's risk-focused. Your job as an investor isn't to predict the next crash—it's to avoid catastrophic losses that erase years of gains during the completion of a full market cycle. Peter Atwater, one of the leading voices on confidence-driven behavior in markets and society, joins Lance Roberts to share how certainty, control, and herd mentality shape every major trend investors face today. Lance and Peter discuss The Confidence Map, why people behave differently when they're in the "comfort zone" versus the "stress center," and how these shifts explain the rise of speculative investing, the bifurcated K-shaped economy, and the growing disconnect between Wall Street and Main Street. Atwater explores how consumer confidence is driving AI enthusiasm, why the workplace has split between white-collar and blue-collar realities since Covid, and what it will take to move the U.S. back to a non-K-shaped economy. We also dive into Maslow's hierarchy, the collapse of social trust, and what happens when possibility starts to feel like threat. For investors, Atwater lays out what assets are "ice cold or lukewarm," why scrutiny and confidence move in opposite directions, and what to own when today's hot spots finally cool off. Lance Roberts & Michael Lebowitz break down the complete Fed liquidity toolkit—from QE and QT to the Standing Repo Facility, IORB, ON RRP, OMO, and the Discount Window—and explain why these tools create the "floor and ceiling" of overnight rates. 0:00 - INTRO 0:18 - Nvidia Kill It; Rate Cut Odds Decline 4:06 - Markets Under Pressure; Setting Up for Rally 10:29 - Markets' Post-Nvidia Relief Valve 15:53 - Oracle, CoreWeave, and CDS's Explained 18:24 - Is There Enough Credit to Fund AI Buildouts? 20:30 - Financial Markets are Like Consumers - they'll find the money 22:16 - Begging for ETF's - Be careful what you ask for 25:20 - Centralized Financial Markets are Swallowing BitCoin 28:24 - How the Fed Controls Liquidity 30:11 - Why is There Stress in the Liquidity Markets? 37:18 - The Linkage Between Liquidty & Function of Economy 39:04 - The Fed is Closer to QE Than Anyone Thinks 39:54 - Today's YouTube Poll 41:14 - What Will Markets Do Today?

Markets have been under pressure lately—especially in Technology—as investors worry about stretched valuations, widening credit default swaps, and whether the AI trade is finally losing steam. Despite the noise, this remains a minor, healthy pullback of roughly 3%, not a full-blown correction. In this pre-market update, we break down why the decline feels worse than it is, why the next two weeks of November historically favor stronger performance, and how mutual fund distributions in December may create volatility before a potential year-end rally. Nvidia is today's major market mover. After an extraordinary run from below $100 in April to nearly $186 today, the stock has pulled back to support but remains in a solid long-term uptrend. If you've been waiting for an entry point, the current setup may offer one, with $200 as a logical near-term target. We also analyze key technical levels for the S&P 500: • A close above the 50-DMA keeps the bullish trend intact • A break lower shifts focus to the 100-DMA • Four straight down days have worked off October's overbought surge, increasing odds of a bounce toward 6,700–6,750 If you didn't harvest profits earlier, selling into weakness now may not be ideal. Use the next rally to rebalance risk and manage exposures. Stay focused. Stay disciplined. Keep perspective. Choosing between a company pension and a lump-sum payout is one of the biggest financial decisions many pre-retirees will ever face—especially for workers in industries facing layoffs or restructuring, like the major oil companies in Houston right now. Lance Roberts & Danny Ratliff break down the key factors to consider when comparing a lifetime pension annuity versus taking a lump-sum distribution you can invest or convert into a private annuity. Using a real-world scenario from a viewer—age 64, a $700,000 lump-sum offer, and a sizable 401(k)—we explore the risks, trade-offs, and questions every retiree should ask before making the call. 0:00 - INTRO 0:19 - Why Nvidia Matters 2:53 - Yes, Virginia, Draw Downs Happen 9:50 - 2026 Economic Summit Preview 10:39 - It's Just a 3% Pullback 13:01 - The Risk Range Report explainer 16:56 - E-Mail Query: Lump Sum or Pension? 19:45 - Pensions are Going the Way of the Dinosaurs 21:29 - Do Not Have a Lump Sum Check Written to You 22:55 - Pensions have no COLA 25:01 - Plan for Higher Taxes in the Future 26:49 - The YouTube Poll 29:07 - Once You're Done, You're Done 33:58 - Lump Sums & Annuities: Be Careful! 38:30 - Understand Your Options

Markets are pulling back and investor anxiety is rising, with the S&P down about 3% from the peak and the NASDAQ off roughly 5%. Headlines warn of "relentless selling," but this is exactly what happens after a powerful rally. We just experienced one of the strongest six-month runs since 1990—corrections are part of the process. In today's pre-market update, we break down why this drawdown isn't a crisis, why risk management matters even in bull markets, and how investor narratives can quickly fall apart. The recent weakness in Bitcoin and NASDAQ lines up with technical signals that flashed weeks ago, including a clear MACD sell on Bitcoin. This isn't the end of the world. It's how markets work. The S&P 500 just broke below its 50-day moving average (50-DMA) for the first time in 199 days – the longest streak since the bull run began. Is this the start of a major correction or just another fake-out? In today's pre-market video short, we break down: Why yesterday's break of the 50-DMA actually matters What the MACD and RSI are telling us right now Why everything is moving together: stocks, small-caps, Nasdaq (QQQ), international, emerging markets, gold, and even Bitcoin The danger of high correlation across all asset classes in 2025 Historical seasonality: the last 2 weeks of November are usually strong Key takeaway: Don't panic-sell yet. Full market cycles matter more today than at any point in the last 15 years. Lance Roberts breaks down why valuations, history, and market structure all point to a simple truth: Every bull market is only half the story. The other half is the bear. Lance's approach isn't bullish or bearish. It's risk-focused. Markets tested the 50-DMA for the third time since October on Friday—and once again, buyers stepped in to defend support. Futures are pointing higher this morning, but the setup still looks like a weak open for Wall Street. With upside resistance near 6,900, the market remains stuck in a well-defined trading range. The big catalyst this week? Nvidia earnings, which could determine whether this consolidation resolves higher—or if we're watching the early stages of a topping process. Short-term signals remain on a sell, and relative strength is cooling. But bullish year-end factors like corporate buybacks, momentum chasing, and neutral professional sentiment continue to provide a floor. In this environment, the message hasn't changed: Stay disciplined. Manage your risk. The scent of QE is back. With overnight funding markets flashing early stress and NY Fed President John Williams hinting at "gradual asset purchases," it's clear: the liquidity cycle is turning again. But the real question is why markets have become so dependent on the Fed in the first place. Markets posted a fourth straight day of gains, reclaiming the 20-DMA and pushing back toward all-time highs—with the Dow breaking above 48,000 for the first time. The bullish trend remains intact as a momentum buy signal sits on the verge of triggering. Under the surface, rotation is driving the story. Healthcare continues to outperform, even outpacing Tech. Staples are starting to recover from deeply oversold levels, with a potential momentum shift if they clear the 20- and 50-DMA. Finance is improving from oversold conditions with strengthening relative strength. Meanwhile, Disney beat earnings and boosted buybacks, though content remains its weak spot. Amazon continues to support Consumer Discretionary, but strip it out, and activity slows noticeably. If this rotation out of Tech continues, these beaten-down sectors could help push markets even higher into the end of the week. Markets opened weakly on Tuesday but finished in the green as Buy-the-Dip traders stepped back in. The S&P 500 bounced off its 50-DMA and is on the verge of a momentum buy signal, while relative strength continues to improve — a bullish sign for near-term market direction. Rotation remains the key theme: Energy (XLE) is starting to lift, even with oil prices steady. Natural gas could see rising demand as AI-driven data centers strain the power grid. Nvidia just took a $1 billion stake in Nokia—and Nokia plans to spend that money buying Nvidia's own AI chips. It's not the first time. Nvidia's done similar deals with OpenAI, CoreWeave, and xAI, fueling record demand for its GPUs. But is this smart strategy—or circular financing? Some call it vendor financing, others say it's round-tripping—a tactic that helped inflate the dot-com bubble two decades ago. Markets rallied ahead of strong earnings from Amazon, Apple, Meta, and Microsoft, but even solid results didn't lift prices. It's a familiar "buy the rumor, sell the news" setup—Palantir and Meta both slipped from record highs. Despite the noise, this pullback is only to the 20-DMA, which remains in a bullish trend. The 50-DMA continues to act as strong support. After new highs, a short-term pause is normal—but if it stings, your portfolio may be carrying too much risk. In this episode, we explore how today's investors are adapting to volatility, inflation, and complexity across markets. Lance Roberts & Jon Penn explore Structured Notes: These complex instruments promise tailored returns, but they come with tax pitfalls and credit risks investors must understand before buying. We'll break down how structured notes work—and why they may belong inside an IRA rather than a taxable account. Futures are flashing warning signs this morning after six straight months of market gains. Is this the start of a long-awaited correction—or just another dip to buy? In today's pre-market update: • Why a quick 2% pullback to the 20-DMA or 50-DMA wouldn't be unusual. • How deteriorating market breadth could be signaling deeper weakness. • Bitcoin and Gold's "risk-off" message for broader markets. • Why momentum remains positive—but at dangerously high levels. • What to watch as volatility and correlations pick up across asset classes. While seasonals still favor a strong year-end, rising volatility and narrowing breadth suggest caution may be warranted.

Are today's investors psychologically conditioned to buy every market dip—no matter the risk? Markets have now logged six consecutive months of gains, a streak that's impressive—but also rare. History tells us that long runs of momentum often end with a pullback to the mean. In this pre-market update, Lance Roberts discusses: • Why the market's current overbought conditions could lead to a November or December correction • How deviations from long-term moving averages create short-term risk • What investors should watch before the Santa Claus rally season kicks in Now's the time to reassess portfolio risk and prepare for a month of potentially sloppy trading ahead.

Most investors have filled out a risk tolerance questionnaire—but does it really measure how you'll behave when markets crash? Markets hit new all-time highs Friday, with momentum improving and a fresh MACD buy signal confirming the uptrend. Relative strength continues to build, supporting the case for a year-end rally. But investors shouldn't get complacent. December's mutual fund rebalancing and short-term pullbacks could add volatility, even as corporate buybacks and under-positioned hedge funds keep providing support. In this video, we break down what's driving the rally, the technical signals confirming momentum, and what risks investors should still keep on their radar as we move into year-end.

How do we raise the next generation to be financially wise in a world obsessed with “getting rich quick”? In this episode, Lance Roberts sits down with financial writer Benjamin Gran to discuss the right way to teach children about money, work, and investing. From saving before investing, to understanding the true value of work, and avoiding the pitfalls of speculative frenzies — we cover everything from Enron and Kozmo.com to the meme-stock craze and the AI hype cycle on Wall Street. Benjamin and Lance break down how to build long-term investing habits that last, why risk management and time horizons matter more than “hot tips,” and how classic investing wisdom from John Bogle, Warren Buffett, and Charlie Munger still applies today. You'll also hear how parents can instill financial literacy and responsibility early — through chores, jobs, and saving — not just allowances and apps. The real secret? Teaching kids that saving money feels as good as spending it, and that success is built on work ethic, patience, and purpose.
