The Tim Conway Jr. Show Hour 1 (6.24) Timmy and the crew reacts to two massive earthquakes near Caracas, Venezuela, in the volatile Ring of Fire, with fears of thousands dead, buildings turned to rubble, and a tsunami warning in effect. This comes right after a solid shaker in Northern California this morning and the ongoing worry that LA could face major water shortages because of the huge Boyle Heights warehouse fire. The good news? That Boyle Heights blaze is finally out after burning for a week — Timmy proudly claims he helped apply the right kind of pressure on the firefighters. The bad news? Millions of pounds of rotting frozen food in the rubble are about to attract flies, mosquitoes, and vermin. California’s earthquake expert warns there could be up to 100,000 dead in Venezuela, and Japan got hit with a 6.9 quake today too. Timmy’s PSA? Stock up on water, people — the tectonic plates are moving and this shiz is getting scary. Classic Conway. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Segment 1: Zendaya continues to feed the rumors that she and Tom Holland were secretly married. The “Euphoria” star was seen wearing what appears to be a wedding ring to the premiere of her new film, “The Drama”. She previously appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, saying that even some of her close friends were disappointed to NOT be invited to the wedding, which evidently didn't happen. Or did it? Segment 2: Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco spent time on the beach following criticism of Blanco's dirty feet. Gomez posted a pic of them posing for a puckered-up selfie in front of a giant poster of Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi in “Wuthering Heights,” in a sun-filled living room overlooking a body of water. Hopefully, Benny dipped those dirty feet of his in the WATER. Segment 3: Jennifer Lopez was performing at her Las Vegas residency show when she tripped on stage at the Colisseum at Caesar's Palace while performing her 2011 hit “On the Floor.” Lopez, 56, was wearing a sparkly, black bodysuit with a giant red rose broach, when she went to kick her leg up and tripped. She's lucky her ASS didn't end up “ON THE FLOOR.” Segment 4: Harry Styles and Zoe Kravitz seem to be getting serious. Yep. Despite them previously saying that they were “not exclusive”, they appear to be finding more time to be together. The couple was recently seen strolling around New York City arm in arm. Looks like Harry's celebrating his #1 album, ‘Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally' with his…AMERICAN GIRL. Segment 5: Michael B Jordan won the Best Actor Oscar for “Sinners” and he credited past winners that came before him like Sidney Poitier and Halle Berry. Jessie Buckley became the first Irish actress to win the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in “Hamnet.” If you haven't seen “Hamnet” yet, make sure you have plenty of TISSUES on hand. What? No. I'm not crying. Segment 6: Dead Or Alive: Adrian Grenier is best known as the lead in the hit HBO series “Entourage” that ran from 2004 to 2011. Dead Or Alive? ALIVE. Grenier appeared in the 2006 film “The Devil Wears Prada” opposite Anne Hathaway but he was NOT asked to join the upcoming sequel. Grenier is now better known as WHO? Segment 7: Doja Cat revealed she's struggling with borderline personality disorder. She said, quote, “I've learned from a very young age to pretend that I like stuff, to pretend that I'm happy, to appear like everything is okay. I'm now struggling with borderline personality disorder”. Unquote. She has been touring for months so WHICH personality did fans SEE? Segment 8: Ariana Madix will return to host “Love Island” Season 8 on June 2nd, from Fiji. Plus, NBC Universal streamer Peacock will air “Love Island: Beyond The Villa” which will premiere April 15th. Madix used to be a bartender at SUR in West Hollywood before appearing on the reality show ‘Vanderpump Rules'. This all proves that people love to watch CRAP. Segment 9: Steve Carrell, best known for “The Office” stars in “Rooster”, which was HBO's most-watched comedy premiere in the U.S. in 10 years. It reached 2.4 million U.S. cross-platform viewers in the first three days and SINCE then, the audience for “Rooster” has grown four times since premiere night. Grown FOUR times? That's what SHE said. Segment 10: Idiot Of The Week – Bethenny Frankel sliced her face open while trying a new beauty tool. The former “Real Housewives of New York City” star filmed the aftermath of the incident and shared it as a warning to her followers on social media. Holding a bloody wipe to her face to stop the gashes along her jaw from bleeding, she continues to be a bonified IDIOT! Segment 11: Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour's black stratocaster sold for a HUGE amount of money. The guitar Gilmore played on such classics as “Money” and “Comfortably Numb” sold at Christie's for a whopping 14 million, 550 thousand dollars. The pre-auction estimate was between 2 and 4 million, so those estimators must have been from the dark side of the moon… Segment 12: 101 Studios, the producers of “Landman” and “Yellowstone,” has acquired rights to “Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic,” a memoir by Bunnie Xo, aka MRS JELLYROLL. The best seller explores her rags-to-riches journey from a Las Vegas trailer park to media mogul-hood as the founder of Dumb Blonde Productions. She's now Jelly-Rollin' in cash. Segment 13: Larry David's HBO comedy series, “Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: An Almost History of America” will satirize the United States in celebration of its 250th anniversary. It will also feature fellow Curb Your Enthusiasm regulars Jeff Garlin, JB Smoove and Susie Essman, and will premiere June 26th. PRETTY, PRETTY GOOD. Segment 14: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce DID get out to celebrate the Oscar parties in LA, but they were pretty hard to find. They mainly hung out at THE most exclusive Oscar party – Madonna's shindig at Manager Guy Oseary's house in the Hollywood Hills. But the power couple was also seen later sneaking into Beyonce and Jay Z's party at Chateau Marmot. Hmm. Are they hiding something? Segment 15 – Trash Bin: Kanye West has been ordered to pay his former project manager, Tony Saxon, following a lawsuit over the rapper's Malibu home. Saxon wasn't paid, was seriously injured, and was wrongfully terminated while working on West's 57 million dollar mansion. Though Saxon had asked for 1.7 MILLION in damages, he received ONLY 140 grand. Yé. Segment 16: News Wrap Up a) As the world becomes more cashless, there's a decreasing need for bank branches and ATM's. b) Amazon Prime will cost $4.99 a month in the U.S., up from $2.99, starting April 10th. c) Nintendo sold 2.2 million units of “Pokémon Pokopia” in the first four days after its release. d) Amazon owned Zoox has reached a partnership to offer its robotaxis on Uber's app. GADZOOKS, man. That's GOOD news! Segment 17: Number Ones – Hoppers, Harry Styles, Procreate Pocket, Judge Stone Segment 18: Song Of The Week – Alex Warren – “Fever Dream” Alex Warren’s night at the Grammys should have been a career high for him but INSTEAD, his performance of “Ordinary” was marred by technical difficulties. He tried to do his best but the delay caused him to be out of sync with the music track. He was so down that he was convinced he was finished in the music industry. He posted a video later explaining what happened, but deleted all his social media, not wanting to see people's comments. It turned out he received 60 million views and people were SUPPORTIVE. And now, Warren is back with a new track which we LOVE. Here's Alex Warren with the Song of the Week, “Fever Dream.” That was Alex Warren with the Song of the Week, “Fever Dream.” The post LA SPINZ – March 23 2026 appeared first on LA Spinz.

Dopeywood 2 Tickets: https://www.showclix.com/event/dopeywood-2026 LISTEN WITHOUT ADS: www.patreon.com/dopeypodcast This week on "Dopey's Greatest Hits" replay of episode 240 with Jessica Kent (prison YouTuber and recovering addict), recorded during the early pandemic from Dave's attic. Dave opens with current (2020-era) updates: promoting an upcoming Dopey Wood 2 comedy show in LA (featuring Marc Maron, Bobby Lee, Margaret Cho, etc.), the Dopey Foundation, Patreon perks, free Narcan/test strips offers, and the ongoing Dopey sticker contest. He reads recent Spotify comments praising/recapping previous episodes (Brace Belden, nitrous stories, etc.), plays a listener voicemail about teenage nitrous abuse, then transitions into the main replay. The core interview covers Jessica Kent's life: early alcohol/pill use starting at ~12–13 in upstate New York, progression to IV heroin at 17, selling drugs (weed → heroin → meth), magazine subscription sales crews while on the run, $30k+ dealer debts, robberies by partners, running from charges, accidental meth introduction in Arkansas, pregnancy and arrest (3 weeks pregnant, 2 oz meth + gun charge), giving birth in prison while in leg chains, fighting for custody of her daughter Micah post-release, white-knuckle sobriety driven by DHS requirements/hair-follicle tests, eventual full custody, and building a new life (YouTube, podcast, degree). She describes prison violence (fights over petty things like 50¢ pizza sauce, beating a child sex offender), disdain for 12-step culture in her experience, identity crisis after getting clean, and how motherhood became her anchor (not 12 steps or traditional recovery programs). Dave closes with his father (the recurring "sweet father" segment) reading iTunes reviews, kvelling over rankings, discussing privilege critiques, financial responsibility in recovery, and playing Bob Forrest's “Comfortably Numb” cover + “Good So Bad” to end. In this week's episode, Paul Andrews dives into a fundamental topic for guitar beginners: what sets a riff, a lick, and a solo apart? Understanding these building blocks is essential for learning songs, improving improvisation, and practicing with intention.Key Topics CoveredBeginner Guitar Academy Updates"Wonderful Tonight" Song Study is being re-released on Friday, February 13th, just in time for Valentine's Day. The updated lesson will have in-depth breakdowns of lead and rhythm parts, along with play-along tracks featuring scrolling tabs.February's Live Member Q&A is set for Monday, February 23rd at 9 pm GMT / 4 pm EST / 1 pm PST. Submit questions ahead of time if you can't attend live—recordings will be available for all members. What is a Riff?A riff is a repeating, recognizable musical idea and often forms the backbone or foundation of a song.Iconic examples: "Smoke on the Water," "Sunshine of Your Love."Riffs repeat often, sync with rhythm & groove, and are usually played the same way every time.If you're a BGA member, check the riff section for 75+ riffs and the workshop section for themed riff collections. What is a Lick?A lick is a short, reusable musical phrase, like a "word" you can insert into solos or different playing contexts.Licks are flexible and show up in various songs and keys. Blues and rock are full of classic licks recycled by greats like B.B. King, Albert King, and Joe Bonamassa.Key traits: short, flexible, easy to move around.Find blues licks and "Quick Licks" lessons inside the Academy. What is a Solo?A solo is a longer musical statement, usually constructed from multiple licks.Great solos are like stories, with phrases, space, dynamics, and emotion (think David Gilmour's "Comfortably Numb").Solos aren't just fast runs—they use repetition, variation, and phrasing.BGA members can check out the workshop "Learn to Play 5 Beginner Guitar Solos" for a progressive solo study. How Do They Work Together?Riff = song identity.Licks = your vocabulary.Solos = arranging licks into a musical story. Most beginners miss the "lick" step when trying to solo. Yet another playoff collapse in Green Bay. Nothing new, I think I've become, in the words of Pink Floyd, Comfortably Numb. Packers blow a 21-3 halftime lead in Chicago. Per reports this morning, it sounds like LaFleur is still going to get a contract extension. We break it all down and the NFL weekend in general. Bucks notch one of their wins of year on Friday in LA, then stub their toe in Denver against a Nuggets team down 4 starters. Badgers upset #2 Michigan on the road on Saturday. In today's episode, I'm talking about what happens when calm becomes disconnection. What we often call calm isn't really calm at all. On the outside, it looks steady and strong, but inside? It can feel tight, numb, or completely disconnected - it's what I like to call "comfortably numb."This is what so many of us in agriculture are taught - be tough, hold it together, and keep going (no matter what). But when calm becomes disconnection, we lose touch with ourselves AND the people around us.True calm comes from a regulated nervous system. It's the kind of peace that allows you to think, feel, connect, and actually be present. In this episode, I cover:What true calm really means + how it differs from disconnectionWhy we often mistake being calm for being disconnectedHow to recognize the physical & emotional signs of true calm vs. shutdownPractical ways to come back from a freeze or shutdown + reconnect with yourself and others Make sure to hit subscribe/follow so you never miss an episode! Kentucky is not a state that Pearl Jam has frequented often, so when the 2016 tour schedule released with Lexington as one of the announced dates, folks from the Bluegrass State were overjoyed that the band would be returning for the first time in 13 years. That's the focal point for this this episode. This is a show that is somehow approaching it's 9th year anniversary in April, and just like many of those Spring 2016 shows, it's full of deep cuts and talking points that are rarely broached on this podcast. This show is a good show with an A+ crowd, but certainly not without some hiccups. While the song Lightning Bolt was utilized in the opener role for the first time ever, the band struggled a bit out the gate with the first six songs. However, that storyline doesn't last throughout the entire show. The rabid crowd picked this band up and gave them the energy they needed to blaze through excellent performances of Corduroy, Army Reserve, 1/2 Full, Rearviewmirror, Thumbing My Way, Comfortably Numb and the ultra rare addition of Education. Join Jill this week as she revisits an episode from January 2021 where she discusses the transformative journey sparked by her recent workshop masterclass, which has blossomed into a supportive and vibrant community for women! She shares her excitement about the unexpected success of the workshop held and invites listeners to join this growing network, emphasizing the importance of self-promotion without guilt! Listen as Jill discusses the workshop's key themes, including stepping out of comfort zones and breaking free from the ways that we buffer and numb ourselves. She highlights how participants are challenging themselves in unique ways, from taking cold showers to driving different routes and even altering their daily habits like drinking coffee with the non-dominant hand, all small but significant actions that can help you create new neural pathways and experience personal growth! Jill focuses primarily on the concept of numbing - how we go through life on autopilot, missing out on the richness of the present moment. Jill explores various forms of numbing, such as overindulgence in food, alcohol, and media, and delves into the more subtle, everyday autopilot behaviors that prevent full self-expression and joy. Hear practical examples of how the women in the workshop, including Jill herself, are embracing discomfort to foster growth. From mixing up their daily routines to experimenting with their personal style, they are actively working to break free from familiarity and its binds. Moreover, Jill reflects on the importance of intuition and following one's heart, sharing a personal decision to turn down a business opportunity that, while logical, didn't feel right in her heart. This decision underscores the episode's central theme: true growth and joy come from listening to oneself and making intentional, sometimes uncomfortable choices.Tune in for an inspiring and relatable discussion on how to cultivate joy, break free from numbing behaviors, embrace the fullness of life, and live more authentically! Show Notes: [01:44] - Jill reveals that her workshop masterclass has turned into something really special with great feedback! [03:52] - The masterclass discussed getting out of comfort zones and stopping the numbing and routines. [06:47] - Jill's group members are challenging themselves to get out of numbing with small, surprising changes. [09:13] - Discussing and journaling growth creates new levels of self-expression and personal growth. [12:08] - Listeners are challenged to wear no makeup and go out, embracing natural beauty. [15:53] - Jill shares how she embraced fun and joy by extending a lunch with a friend to five hours. [17:50] - Embrace fun by stepping out of your comfort zone, even if it feels like too much fun for one day. [19:41] - Jill encourages listeners to follow their hearts and intuition even if it defies logic and business opportunities. [22:10] - Commit to personal growth by following your intuition every day; focus on deep inner work and healing past traumas to see what the future reveals. [23:48] - Tune into God's guidance for spiritual growth, even if it seems to defy conventional logic. Barry and Abigail discuss Drag by k.d. lang and sample Theoretical Jam, Maduro Brown Ale, and Fancy Papers™ from Cigar City Brewing in Tampa, Florida. Listen to the original versions of the songs that k.d. lang covered on this album! Barry compared the ominous-sounding outro of Don't Smoke In Bed to Goldfinger by Shirley Bassey. We played a bit of The Hollies' version (in Barry's eyes, the definitive version) of The Air That I Breathe. We discussed in depth the lyrics of Steve Miller Band's The Joker, eventually going on a tangent that led to Clap For the Wolfman by The Guess Who and The Letter by The Medallions. Abigail compared k.d. lang's vocal performance in Your Smoke Screen to Shana Cleveland's performance on Manzanita. Barry compared the song to Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd. Congratulations to Jeff “Jafo” Shettler! At time of episode release, his bonus episode, Bonus: Pink Floyd Leftovers (Pink Floyd and brewLAB Leftovers) is our most listened-to episode of all time. We discussed the incredible backstory of Till the Heart Caves In, which is a “cover” of a Roy Orbison song that was never recorded. lang and Orbison had a previous connection as lang performed in Roy Orbison & Friends - A Black and White Night in 1988. Read more about the special! We believe that Jane Siberry wrote Hain't It Funny specifically for k.d. lang. On Siberry's album, “Hain't It Funny” is preceded by k.d. lang, a series of recorded voicemails between Siberry and lang. Comfortably Numb (Pink Floyd cover) by Shut Up Dog Productions
As with many other mixes this one has a specific track that was the inspiration. The tune is called "Franky's Floyd" from the album "An Evening with Friends" by Ron Boots. It's a live album by Boots and his friends. The track is called "Franky's Floyd" because Frank Dorittke plays a nine minute variation of David Gilmour's solo from Comfortably Numb. It all sounds so familiar but with enough variation to make it interesting. Thanks to Paul Asbury Seaman for giving me the heads-up on this track. I am in awe of it every time I listen. https://ronboots.bandcamp.com/album/an-evening-with-friends The title of this mix is a bit misleading, while there are a couple of screaming guitars here, most of the mix is just loud-ish guitar tracks that lean towards a spacey vibe. I think this set does a good job combining new and old tracks, going from 1975 & '77 to the 2010s and then 2020 & '21. I've definitely been in a guitar mood lately with this one and a couple more guitar-based mixes in the works. One of them will have a Khruangbin vibe because they have a new album out and they are one of my favorite artists on the music scene right now. Cheers!
