Ricky chats to Jim Wilson an established ornithologist, author, wildlife expert and founding member of the Harpers Island reserve. They discuss the origins of the project, the habitats found there, the management and birds of the island. For bird of the week we look at the Black-tailed Godwit. In Your Nature is produced in partnership with the Heritage Offices of Laois and Offaly County Councils, supported by the Heritage Council and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, and is edited by Ann-Marie Kelly.

Would you like to play a game? Darla, Jessica, and Michael did and chose Fantasy Flight Games' Letters from Whitechapel. One player takes the role of Jack the Ripper as the other players' detectives attempt to catch him over a series of four nights. We also talked about other horror-related and -adjacent things we've been watching and reading: Harper's Island (2009 TV series) A Christmas Carol (2019 TV mini-series) Doctor Sleep (book and film) Dracula (2020 TV mini-series) Mindhunter (2017 TV series) Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019) Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017) Marvel Comics Tomb of Dracula series Sweetheart (2019) Underwater (2020) The Turning (2020) And some things we've been looking forward to: The Lodge (2019) Run (2020) The Invisible Man (2020) The New Mutants (2020)
Put your hockey masks on and get your chainsaws revved up, things are gonna get slasher-y this week!! We watched the 2009 single-season murder mystery, Harper’s Island! Who wouldn’t want to set their wedding in the isolated location where a violent serial killer had chopped up their friends and family only a few short years prior?! It’s show that tests the limit of how many characters can be crammed into a single plot! It’s a horror show that takes music cues right out of teen dramas. It’s a show that… we actually liked?? Dun dun dunnnnn!! We also debate whether Robin Hood is a serial killer, flex our boat term knowledge, discuss the fabulous career of director Jon Turtletaub and sing the classic tune “Let’s All Get a Boat.” Plus Morgan declares her desire to “rebirth” John Mulaney, her imprinted memories of The Man in the Iron Mask, and naming her favorite monkey movies. Meanwhile Mike explains why Dawson’s Creek is awesome, remembers an old Carl's Jr commercial in disturbing detail, and admits he has no idea how much diamonds cost! A that and so much… gore! (It's not actually gory, but you get the idea) Cut the Shit: Morgan - Scream Mike - House on Sorority Row If you enjoy the show please help spread the word by giving us a quick review on iTunes and sharing us with friends. Was sind eure Guilty Pleasures? Welche Formate aus den Podcast habt ihr auch gern gesehen?
