There are plenty of times that we get tired from being faithful and consistent. Sometimes we get weary, and we need the other members of the body to hold us up. Exodus 17:8-15
The greatest leaders in the Bible all had to have help, and that even includes Jesus. Because sometimes the reality and pressures of life can bend or even break us, and when that happens, we need to be held up. We need to have some sort of support. God, through the Body of Christ has given us that support, and that is reflect in this sermon today “Hold Me Up”. Exodus 17:8-15

God showed up and showed out in this episode. I shared several things about my life that i had no intention of sharing but God… i want to always be obedient and do His will. I pay it blesses you. Below is a backstory on how this all got started if your interest. I started this channel by reading from the little book “I've got to talk to somebody, God” a woman's conversations with God by Marjorie Holmes. It has been such a blessing. I didn't know what direction the Lord would take this channel after we finished that book. In true form, God has provided. He put it on a faithful supporter heart to purchase and to send me another book by Marjorie Holmes titled “Hold me up a little longer, Lord”. I know God is going to use this book to minister to us and bless us. Thank you for being here! I hope this blesses you. All my social media information, channels, and podcast are in this link. https://linktr.ee/delightfullysouthern YouTube link: https://youtube.com/@delightfullysoutherndevotional Hello friends!! A little back story on these devotions. I'm an avid thrifter and I love old books. One day while out, God placed an old book in my path. I had no idea how this little book would completely take me to a new place in God and with my life. I shared the book with my YouTube family and they ask me to share readings from it with them. God began to stir in me about doing just that. After a bit of conflict from some on my main channel, (they didn't like the “devotionals”), I called out to my prayer warrior friends. After much prayer, I started a completely new channel devoted to all things God!! I read a “conversation/ prayer” from this book God put in my path and He gives me the words and interpretation. So what is the book? It's an older book copyright in 1968. The title is “I've got to talk to somebody, God” a woman's conversations with God by Marjorie Holmes. I pray over each reading and God shows which one to read. I truly hope each one blesses you! https://linktr.ee/delightfullysouthern
Chris Chandler is a maker of new things out of two things, out of three things, out of four — one of the world's consummate collaborators, sharing tracks with luminaries, fusing the verse he inhabits with the chords and choruses of artists such as Dan Bern, Jim Infantino, Peter Yarrow, Anne Feeney and Paul Benoit. I've known Chris a bit over the years, and years ago shared stages with him here and there, and I've always been moved and awed by what he manages to do with a pair of vocal cords and the truth. But I've never heard his full story or gotten under the hood with the head that makes it all work. Until this episode.Clips in this episode:Jupiter Falling (James O'Brien, Live at City Winery [unreleased, Dan Bern intro] — 2023)Stone Mountain/Georgia (Chris Chandler and Paul Benoit, ‘So Where Ya Headed?' — 2009)Hannibal / Would You Die for a Necktie? "Lean on me, when you're not strong..."- "Lean on Me" by Bill Withers We often times carry the weight of others, and we don't even know it. Carrying others isn't always a bad thing, though. It only feels bad when you feel as if you're being used. Other times, you could be a springboard for someone. The real question then becomes are you the crutch or the springboard? in this episode, Kym and Sam tap in, and discuss the differences.

Welcome to the 14th edition of Mardi Gras Men - The Covid edition. It's hard to believe that at Mardi Gras last year, Sydney was full of international visitors. The 2021 MG party went ahead and was a huge success given the circumstances, so kudos to the MG committee for pulling it off. This edition of Mardi Gras men kicks off with Wayne G's amazing remix of George Michael's "Faith" . Mark from Dirty Disco graces the set with two remixes for Erasure and D:Ream respectively. Barry Harris has produced a huge '21 remix of the Pet Shop Boys "It's A Sin", while Division 4 works his magic on the classic "Can You Feel It" by the Jacksons. Sagi Kariv does an outstanding mix of Elton John's "Can You Feel The Love Tonight". Peyton, Haddaway and A-ha all get remixed and to close out the set is a remarkable Almighty mix of "Suspicious Minds" by Elvis Presley (you heard me, Elvis Presley). The 2021 edition of Mardi Gras Men has a blend of old and new all male vocals, so get into it. Enjoy Anthony 1/ "FAITH" (Wayne G. The Vinyl LP Record - - - - The history - - - A phonograph record (also known as a gramophone record, especially in British English), often simply called a record, was an analog sound storage medium in the form of a flat disc with an inscribed, modulated spiral groove. The groove usually starts near the periphery and ends near the center of the disc. Because the records were made of polyvinyl chloride they took on the name “VINYL”. In the mid-2000s, gradually, records made of any material began to be called vinyl records, or simply vinyl. The phonograph disc record was the primary medium used for music reproduction throughout the 20th century. - - - The details - - - The LP record (from "long playing" or "long play") is a phonograph record format characterized by a speed of 33 1⁄3 rpm, having a 12- or 10-inch (30- or 25-cm) diameter, and uses the "microgroove" groove specification. Introduced by Columbia in 1948, it was soon adopted as a new standard by the entire record industry. The new product was a 12- or 10-inch (30 or 25 cm) fine-grooved disc made of PVC ("vinyl") and played with a smaller-tipped "microgroove" stylus at a speed of 33 1⁄3 rpm. Each side of a 12-inch LP could play for about 22 minutes. The average LP has about 1,500 feet (460 m; 0.28 mi) of groove on each side. The average tangential needle speed relative to the disc surface is approximately 1 mile per hour (1.6 km/h; 0.45 m/s). It travels fastest on the outside edge. - - - It is one, long, groove, filled with music. But, in reality, it is “Just A Groove”, an album oriented groove. Enjoy. - - - Join the conversation on Facebook at - - - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100008232395712 or by email at - - - dannymemorylane@gmail.com - - - In this episode you’ll hear: 1) The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite by R.E.M. Having expectations can hold me up (Today I Learned #62) by Della Mbaacha
It is always medicine for our heart and mind to come back to the values and ways of being that support each of us in sharing our unique gifts with the world. This new children’s picture book, You Hold Me Up shares the various ways we can ‘hold each other up.’ While it was written for our youngest citizens, it is a great reminder for all of us of the importance of holding each other up with respect and dignity. In this episode, I share where the idea for the book came from, I read the book and share some of the stories of children’s responses to the book.
With there eleventh album about to be released, we decided it was a perfect time to revisit the Goo Goo Dolls first release of the 1990s. For their third album Hold Me Up from 1990, the band began it’s transition from Robby Takac-led pop/punk band to alternative rock hit-makers of the 2nd half of the decade. This album shows the pieces falling into place, with guitarist John Rzeznik taking the lead vocals on five of the fourteen tracks, up from two on the previous two albums. From track to track, you can hear the past and future of the band colliding, but does that make for a worthwhile overall listening experience? Tune in to find out. Songs in this Episode: Intro - Never Take The Place of Your Man 18:48 - There You Are 20:48 - Two Days In February 34:59 - Kevin’s Song Outro - Million Miles Away Follow on Twitter / Facebook Request a 2016 Review / Subscribe at Patreon
