Ready to stop waiting for that elusive cash fairy and actually make 2025 the year your bank account catches up with your creative talents? Ceri explains how artists and creatives can rewire their financial mindsets to elevate their earnings in 2025. Ceri reveals practical accountability frameworks, goal setting techniques and mindset shifts that turn vague money hopes into tangible results. This episode delivers the financial reality check creative souls desperately need and teaches you how to hack your money mindset. KEY TAKEAWAYS Rewire Your Money Mindset. Say these out loud to yourself: "I can earn money." " I earn money." "I have money." "I spend money." Try saying these out loud every morning for a week. Notice what thoughts come up. Challenge them. Find a ‘Money Mark’. So a friend, colleague or mentor who’s also ready to level up. Here’s how to make it work: Set a financial goal for the year and share it. Meet monthly (or fortnightly) to check in, swap ideas, and keep each other motivated. Call out each other’s limiting beliefs. Use your collective brainpower to spot opportunities, collaborations, and new income streams. Set a Financial Goal and Actually Track It. Be specific, Define Your Number. Identify Your Income Streams the Sh*t Work – If it’s time-consuming, joyless, and underpaid, ditch it. Use a System to track your progress. Set Deadlines and Stay Accountable. Money goals only work if they have deadlines. Break it down like this: Annual goal. Quarterly check-ins. Monthly Milestones. Regular Money Mark meetings. Know Your Worth and Price Accordingly. Your prices should reflect the value you bring, not just the hours you put in. Charging properly doesn’t make you greedy, it makes you sustainable. The right people will pay your rates. Stop Hoping and Start Practising. Here’s the truth: getting better at making money is just like getting better at your creative work, it takes practice. BEST MOMENTS Most of us in the arts have been trained to believe that making money is for other people. That success stories are anomalies. That talking about cash is a bit icky. Money goals only work if they have deadlines. Otherwise, you’ll still be thinking about them in December 2025, wondering where the time went. "Your prices should reflect the value you bring. Price confidently, and your clients will recognise the worth of your offerings." “You’re not bad with money. You just haven’t trained yourself to think about it differently.” EPISODE RESOURCES PODCAST HOST BIO With over 30 years in the art world, Ceri has worked closely with leading artists and arts professionals, managed public and private galleries and charities, and curated more than 250 exhibitions and events. China is prioritizing protecting the rights of elderly workers and respecting their willingness to work as it began gradually raising the statutory retirement age on Wednesday. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Organization Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, and the Ministry of Finance jointly issued an interim guideline outlining operational measures for workers to choose their retirement age. The new policy stems from a decision approved by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress in September to raise the statutory retirement age for men to 63 and for women to either 55 or 58, depending on their occupation. According to that decision, from Wednesday, male workers age 60 and female workers age 55 can ask for their retirement age to be extended one month every four months. Female workers who are 50 years old can ask for a one-month retirement extension every two months. By doing so, the retirement ages will increase to 63 for men and 55 or 58 for women in 15 years. The guideline excludes those who reached the previous statutory retirement age before Tuesday.2024年12月31日前已经达到原法定退休年龄的人员,不适用本《办法》。Once the age increase is fully implemented, workers will be able to voluntarily retire up to three years earlier than the new statutory age, provided they have met the minimum pension contribution requirement, which is currently 15 years but will gradually rise to 20 years by 2030. However, workers cannot retire before the previous statutory retirement age, which is 50 or 55 for women and 60 for men. Those who choose early retirement must notify their employers in writing at least three months before their chosen retirement age. Workers wishing to delay retirement once they reach the statutory ages must agree with their employers in writing at least one month in advance, with a limit of a three-year postponement. Civil servants, senior executives in State-owned enterprises and government officials must retire once they reach the new statutory retirement age, according to the guideline.《办法》规定,公务员、国有企事业单位领导人员及其他管理人员,达到新的法定退休年龄时应当及时办理退休手续。Employers are required to maintain the same rights and benefits for workers who postpone retirement, including social insurance and labor relations. Workers can reverse their decision to postpone if they come to an agreement with their employers. The guideline underscores the importance of respecting individuals' working preferences and ensuring that retirement decisions are voluntary. It prohibits employers from pressuring workers into retirement decisions against their wishes.《办法》强调,要充分尊重职工意愿,确保其退休决定出于自愿,并禁止用人单位强制职工做出违背自身意愿的退休决定。Experts have welcomed the guideline. Zhao Zhong, dean of the School of Labor and Human Resources at the Renmin University of China in Beijing, said the specific measures included in the guideline will help the public and employers understand and implement the nation's policy on raising the retirement age. It has very detailed rules and measures on how to retire in advance or postpone retirement, which is a positive response to people's concerns about labor relations and working rights protections related to postponing retirement, showing greater respect for people's working willingness and rights," he said. Li Chang'an, a professor from the Academy of China Open Economy Studies at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, said the guideline is an explanation of the retirement decision made by the Standing Committee of the NPC in September, which highlights the "voluntary and flexible" principles of the retirement policy. He added that postponing the retirement age progressively is a result of socioeconomic development and changes in demographic structure, which allows for better use of human resources and eases the burdens on social and pension funds. Figures from the Ministry of Civil Affairs show that China's elderly population—people 60 years old and above—accounted for more than one-fifth of the nation's total population in 2023. interimadj.

Welcome back to Becoming Better! In today's episode, we're diving into the beautiful story of Mary and Martha, two sisters who welcomed Jesus into their home during a pivotal time in their lives. As we explore the dynamic between these two women, we'll uncover a powerful lesson about the importance of slowing down, sitting at Jesus' feet, and not giving up on the promises God has for us. In the hustle of life, it's easy to become like Martha—caught up in busyness, distracted by our to-do lists, and overwhelmed by the pressures around us. Jesus addressed Martha's concerns, reminding her that “only one thing is necessary,” which was to prioritize time with Him. What does it mean to truly rest and reconnect with God in our daily lives? We'll explore the profound implications of this Scripture and how it invites us to realign our priorities. Throughout this episode, we will reflect on how Mary chose to be present with Jesus, demonstrating that sometimes, the most faithful action we can take is to linger longer in His presence. We'll discuss the significance of perseverance and how when we stick around—despite our doubts, fears, and life's distractions—we open ourselves to witnessing the fulfillment of God's promises.Join us on this journey of becoming better, learning to quiet the chaos around us and trusting in God's timing. Because when we don't give up, we position ourselves to see the incredible ways He is working, fulfilling His promises right before our eyes.Tune in, and remember: sometimes, waiting and choosing to be still opens the door to seeing God's faithfulness in ways we never imagined. Daily Emunah Podcast - Daily Emunah By Rabbi David Ashear

There are people who have had their share of difficulties in life, and things don't seem to be changing anytime soon for them. Numerous times it appeared as if they were going to get some type of yeshua , and every single time it fell through. They're left wondering if their situation will ever improve. They have tried dozens of segulot , have gone to many tzaddikim , and have prayed time and time again with heartfelt tears. It's so hard for them to continue hoping for yeshuot and serving Hashem the way they're supposed to. They feel like they are always being let down, so why bother? They have to know how valuable everything they do is, especially because it's so hard for them. The amount of satisfaction that they can bring Hashem is unfathomable. The Zohar Chadash on Megillat Ruth explains the following pasuk in a way that can give us tremendous chizuk . The pasuk says: ויהי בחצי הלילה - this refers to the darkness of galut . ויחרד האיש וילפת – the איש refers to HaKadosh Baruch Hu . והנה אשה שכבת מרגלתיו - that is a reference to the Jewish people. ? ויאמר בת מי את - Hashem asks us, what do we want? ותאמר אנכי רות אמתיך - Rut is from the word רוויה which means saturated. We say to Hashem, we have been saturated with beatings and afflictions and pain, but nonetheless, we remain אמתיך – your faithful servant. And all we want is ופרשת כנפיך על אמתיך – just to be close to You, Hashem. Hashem replies ויאמר, ברוכי את לה' בתי - You are so blessed my precious daughter. This is the biggest chesed that you could do for Me. Despite the trials and tribulations that you have gone through, you remain faithful and want to be next to Me! The Zohar continues explaining pasukim later on, ליני פה הלילה - Hashem tells us, just to wait a little longer in this darkness of exile, והיה בבוקר - because the light of Geulah will come. We need to keep telling ourselves, we must stay faithful no matter how dark it gets, because that is our glory and we will reap the rewards for it when the light of Geulah comes. We can't even fathom the value of experiencing any type of hardship in this world, even the smallest things. There was once a story of two people who made a deal, whoever dies first would come back and tell the other something about the judgment in Shamayim . When one of them passed on, he came back to the other and said, he is only allowed to reveal one thing. He said, “Remember the time we went to grind our own flour to bake matzot? When we were transporting the flour, it became very cloudy and it looked like it was going to pour. Our hearts were pounding with fear that the flour would get wet and become chametz , which would have made all of our efforts useless. A minute and a half later, the clouds started to disperse and it never rained. I can tell you that those 90 seconds that we experienced fear went on the positive side of the scale of judgment. Every single second was worth so much here in Shamayim .” There are people who have to endure days, weeks, months and even years of pain. Imagine what that will be worth in Shamayim . And if the person is able to stay faithful to Hashem and continue serving Him amidst the pain, it makes his avodah infinitely greater. One minute of avodah in his life with what he is going through could be worth more than weeks of avodah of someone else whose life is relatively easy. We don't ask for the challenges, but once they come, they can be utilized for the greatest gains. Hashem gets so much satisfaction from His children who stay faithful to Him despite having to go through hardship. If they can continue their efforts in the darkness, they'll experience the greatest light of all for all eternity. We're at the doorstep of Geulah . Let us strengthen ourselves and push hard to stay ne'eman .

“I think it's safe to say John Osborne is a fuckin' beast!” That's how Chris Shiflett kicks off this episode of Shred With Shifty, featuring bearded Brothers Osborne shredder-in-chief John Osborne. Osborne joins Shifty to dissect his blistering country-rock ripping on the band's breakout single, “Stay A Little Longer.” Osborne tells Shifty about failing miserably at guitar in college, where he learned to read and play bass clef but never got the hang of the treble clef. It's no surprise when Osborne admits he's taken notes from players like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Dickey Betts, Eric Johnson, and Skynyrd shredders Allan Collins and Gary Rossington, but his very first guitar influence? Kurt Cobain, and the Nirvana frontman's anxious energy. “I'm a little bit awkward, and I have social anxiety, but I can talk to people through music,” says Osborne. As far as technicality, though, he and Shifty agree that bluegrass guitar playing is “the Usain Bolt of musicianship.” To recap the “Stay A Little Longer” leads, Osborne plays a stock blackguard 1953 Fender Telecaster that he scooped from Carter Vintage Guitars. (Listen in to learn why it and some other Fenders from that era have an abnormally thick “Friday neck.”) He explains that he wanted the solo to have the same philosophy as legendary solos like those in “Free Bird” and “Hotel California”: hooky, repetitive, accented, and not too shreddy. Plus, he reveals the “un-Photoshopped” blips in the solo that stayed on the record. Click below to subscribe to the podcast!
