Okay, let's do a gut check. If you don't know exactly where your next client is coming from, we need to talk. Because chances are, it's not your social media holding you back, it's the systems, clarity, and booking flow that actually get people into your chair. And August? It's turn-up season, not take-your-foot-off-the-gas season.Visibility isn't about posting more. It's about removing the roadblocks that make you invisible, so clients can find you, book you, and rave about you. Here's what we're getting into:Why most “visibility problems” aren't actually social media problemsThe 10-second Google test to see if clients can find youHow to simplify your booking process so you stop losing clients mid-clickWays to make referrals happen naturally (without cheesy punch cards)Let's make sure your next client isn't scrolling past you, they're booking with you.Grab the Salon Visibility masterclass here:https://www.salonmindsmastermind.com/visibility-tenfoldNeed more support? Let's talk about something that might sting a little... if everything in your salon depends on you, then nothing can actually grow.If you're the one handling the problems, making every decision, and constantly getting pulled in a million directions—it's no wonder you're stuck. I've been there. And I know how exhausting it is to feel like the whole thing would fall apart if you stepped away.In this episode, I'm sharing exactly what I had to shift to break out of that pattern and start leading like a real CEO.Here's what we're diving into:Why your income is stuck where it is (and what that actually tells you)The wake-up call I got that changed how I leadWhat it really takes to create a self-sustaining businessHow to stop bottlenecking your growth without losing controlWhat to do this week to start stepping into true leadershipIf you're ready to build a salon that doesn't revolve around you—one that actually gives you more freedom instead of sucking the life out of you—this episode is your next move.Let's do it, babe.Want the tools to start systemizing? Let's talk about what freedom really looks like. In this episode, I'm taking you behind the scenes of one ordinary Saturday morning that showed me just how extraordinary your life can feel when your business is set up right. While I was in my kitchen making butter cookies with my daughter, sipping coffee in my comfiest weekend clothes, and fully off from salon mode… my business? Still making money. Still booking clients. Still growing. And I wasn't even thinking about it.Inside this episode, I'm breaking down:The real-time moment I realized my salon was operating without meThe systems I've built (and you can build too) that made that possibleWhy micromanagement is not the vibe—but structure absolutely isHow we create a culture where the team sells, serves, and shows up without needing me to babysitAnd how YOU can step into that kind of freedom, tooThis isn't about luck or having a superhuman staff. It's about building systems that work—so you can finally stop running your business with one hand on your phone and the other in panic mode.If you've ever dreamed of a weekend that's actually yours, where the salon keeps thriving without you glued to your screen, this episode will show you exactly how that becomes your new normal.Ready for support + real strategy every single week?Come join me inside The Monday Club. Okay babe, let's get real for a sec.If your salon feels like it's running you instead of the other way around… I see you. You've got systems. You've got checklists. You might even have a waitlist of stylists wanting to work with you. But somehow it still feels like you are the one holding everything together with sheer willpower (and caffeine). Here's the truth: scaling your business isn't just about building the systems—it's about becoming the kind of leader who can actually carry the business you're building. This episode is a heart-to-heart on what happens when your leadership doesn't grow with your salon—and how to fix it. I'm walking you through how I learned (the hard way) that natural leadership isn't enough, why intentional leadership is the real secret to growth, and how to step into your CEO self for real.Whether you've been feeling like the whole thing might fall apart without you—or you're just ready to finally lead from a place of peace instead of pressure—this one's for you.You don't need to hustle harder. You need to lead better. Let's do it.The Monday Club: https://www.lexilomax.com/monday-club
Let's get brutally honest… there's always one.The high earner. The it girl. The diva who makes you the most money and low-key runs your salon—until you realize, wait a minute, I'm the freaking owner. In this episode, we're unpacking a hard but necessary leadership lesson: what happens when you give your power away in exchange for keeping the peace (and the revenue). And how to take it back without burning it all down. Here's what we're diving into:How fear of loss (aka people pleasing) disguises itself as leadershipWhat really happens when you let money talk louder than your missionThe ripple effect of giving one stylist too much powerWhy every salon has “that girl”—and how to handle her differentlyThe exact moment things shifted and the culture started healingWhat it looks like to lead from confidence, not cortisolHow to set standards everyone can thrive under (without exceptions)If you've ever been stuck between protecting your culture and pleasing your highest earner… this one's for you.Ready to lead with clarity instead of fear? Join us inside The Monday Club—your leadership gets to grow in a room like this. You built this business for a reason. Let's lead it like we mean it.
The Mariners were on the ropes this weekend and came away with a sweep over the Guardians. How impactful was Saturday's win? Chris Crawford and Nathan Bishop join us for Mollywhop Monday! How do we evaluate the Mariners over this weekend and are we seeing them heading in the right direction? Is the Astros' recent success for real? Plus, why are we having to defend Julio Rodriguez right now? Mollywhop Monday continues with some thoughts on the Rafael Devers trade as it applies to moves the Mariners haven't made. Ian, Anders and Jess give their thoughts on the Giants' acquisition of Rafael Devers, why the Mariners didn't go after him and why Devers would've been a great fit in Seattle. Ian maintains that everyone in baseball knew about this happening ahead of time, so why did the Giants have an inside track? Ian gives his take on JJ Spaun's US Open win. We also hear from Tod Leiweke, who discussed the team's investment in fan experience. Ian discusses the demand we see for professional sporting events, the price it costs to access them and why we're talking about it during the FIFA Club World Cup. Hiring quickly to fill a gap might feel like survival—but it can cost you your culture, your sanity, and your bottom line. In today's episode, we get brutally honest about one of the biggest leadership mistakes you can make: hiring for potential instead of alignment. We're talking about:Why liking someone is not enough to bring them onto your teamThe expensive (and exhausting) fallout of hiring without systemsHow self-leadership and clear expectations set your team—and you—up to winThe real role of systems in protecting your energy and your businessWhat Lexi would tell her younger self before every hiring decisionIf you've ever made a hiring decision you regret—or want to avoid one—listen in and you'll walk away with clarity and confidence.
Halfway through the year. Did that hit you like a freight train too?If you're feeling like time is flying and you're still winging it behind the scenes of your salon, this episode is a pause-and-check-in moment just for you. We're not just talking about goals or vision boards—we're talking about what it actually takes to be the kind of leader your business needs. Not the perfect kind. Not the always-likes-confrontation kind. The durable kind. The kind that knows how to have hard conversations without ghosting the whole team or turning into Miss Trunchbull overnight.Inside this episode:Why “not being a natural leader” isn't a problemWhat really causes salon owners to burn out on leadershipThe leadership traps we all fall into (people-pleasing, ghosting, overcorrecting… sound familiar?)How separating your likability from your leadership is the unlockWhat every good leader actually has (hint: it's not charisma)Why you need tools, not just inspirationYou don't need to be born for this. Being a salon owner is deeply emotional work—even if no one tells you that upfront. In this episode, we're talking about what it really means to be an emotional container in your salon: for your team, your clients, and everyone in between.Whether it's handling trauma-dumping clients, overly chatty assistants, or the team member who always has “just one more thing,” you're constantly being pulled on emotionally. And the truth is? The title of this podcast is a pun on doors and on the future. I start by playing "Light My Fire" written by the Doors, and truly one of the greatest pieces in the history of Rock and Roll. Then I talk about how Project Hope and Fairness represents a door to the future of the chocolate business. And then I mention two big events: my being part of the Ivoirian exhibit at the Salon du Chocolat, the world's biggest annual chocolate event, which happens in Paris and the second event is our upcoming fundraiser on Thursday, December 1 at the Monday Club in San Luis Obispo, CA, 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.And the next pun is on the future because I review the book, "Ministry for the Future," which has to do with our collective future here on planet Earth. I finish the podcast with another Doors work of genius: "Riders on the Storm."I mention in the podcast that you can visit YouTube to see videos of cocoa and chocolate production in the mini-factory of SOCOPLAN, an agricultural cooperative in the village of Depa, Côte d'Ivoire. Hometown Radio 07/08/22 3p: Pet & Pie of the Week. Then Spotlight on the Monday Club
Niamh Cullen speaks to me today about friendship, love and starting afresh. Niamh is a fitness instructor and started her business Monday Club in 2019. She speaks to me today about moving on from a past relationship and starting over. Niamh has been very open about struggling at times with her mental health and having up and down days. Today, she goes into detail about what those days look like and how with therapy, she found a way through. This is a gorgeous conversation and I'm so grateful to Niamh for coming onto The Good Glow to tell her story. This podcast is brought to you with thanks to Ireland's Leading Pharmacy Chain, Lloyds Pharmacy. The Good Glow Wellness Programme is now available.
