I'm always asking questions. The fun begins when you start researching for answers. Such as… Who are we when nobody else is around? Heavy heavy question that's so easily set aside because its not connected to keeping up with the Jones'. I stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen study then activate. I call it The Daily Mess. A chronological walk through an everyday world. Yes, it's my morning writing. The jury needed under three hours. Guilty on all counts. Aggravated murder. Attempted aggravated murder. Forgery. Insurance fraud. Judge Mrazik sentenced Kouri Richins to life in prison without parole and said a person who commits those acts "is simply too dangerous to ever be free."Behind that verdict was an investigation that started with a phone call about a civil matter and became the case that changed Todd Gabler's career. For over a year, Gabler worked independently — pulling the phone records that exposed Kouri's communication pattern with Carmen Lauber, conducting interviews law enforcement hadn't gotten to, tracking vehicles, searching the Richins home for days, and handing over evidence that helped transform a stalled case into an arrest. He did it as a career defense investigator who'd never once worked the prosecution's side — until this case made it impossible to stay neutral. In this complete three-part interview, Gabler sits with Tony Brueski and walks through every stage. How it started. What the evidence revealed. What police missed. What the defense got wrong. What the family went through. And what happens to the investigator who carries a case like this on his back for over a year.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
Todd Gabler never met Eric Richins. But he might know him better than almost anyone outside the family. Over the course of a year-long investigation, Gabler went through Eric's phone records, walked through his home, interviewed dozens of people who knew him, and pieced together the reality of a marriage and a life that ended in a way nobody should have to die. That kind of immersion changes an investigator. Especially one who's spent 34 years on the defense side — the side that challenges, pokes holes, fights for the accused. For the first time in his career, Gabler's evidence became the prosecution's case. And when the jury convicted Kouri Richins on all counts in under three hours, he was sitting in a seat he'd never occupied before. In Part 3, Gabler tells Tony what Eric Richins became to him through the investigation, what it was like to testify six weeks after surgery because he refused to miss his day in court, and whether 34 years of doing this work prepared him for what this particular case did to him as a person.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? De-Va'Je - Nobody Else But You
Paul Murdaugh kept Mallory Beach's obituary tucked into the door frame of his truck. Every time he climbed in, it was right there. Blanca Simpson saw it because she'd been inside the Murdaugh home for fifteen years and knew things about that family the cameras and courtrooms never captured. In this interview with Tony Brueski, Blanca tells the story of who the Murdaughs actually were behind the front door — and why the public version doesn't match what she witnessed. She goes back to the beginning — meeting Alex in the late '90s, translating for his cases, and eventually becoming the family's housekeeper after the real estate crash left her between jobs. Over the years, the relationship deepened from cleaning to running the household, cashing checks, and becoming someone Maggie trusted enough to confide in when Alex wouldn't give her the full truth about a $30 million lawsuit bearing down on the family.Blanca challenges the public image of both Maggie and Paul. She describes Maggie as the opposite of the cold socialite in a fur coat — loud, funny, generous, and always shopping local to support the community. She remembers Paul's humor and his arrogance in equal measure, but insists the version the media handed the public after the boating incident erased the person he actually was.She reveals the private fractures: Maggie wanting to sell everything to make things right while Alex wouldn't sit down long enough to explain the situation. The joke about Maggie divorcing Alex for Tom Brady that got twisted into a serious rumor. And the two months before the murders when Alex started retreating — staying in bed, showing up late, carrying something nobody around him could fully see.LINKS & LEGALJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? A demon told him at 12 years old he'd never preach the gospel. In Part 2, Jonathan Miller shares the raw spiritual warfare behind his family's story — demonic manifestations, scratch marks on his body, a night God made him choose between family and calling, and the prophetic charge that the American church must return to desperation before it sees real glory. What if the best acquisition you'll ever make is the one nobody else bothered to look at? That's not a rhetorical question. That's exactly how Karl Hughes bought his first agency. While every other buyer was refreshing broker listings and fighting over the same tired deals, Karl built a spreadsheet, started cold DM-ing podcast production founders on LinkedIn, and had fifty conversations most people would've deleted without a second thought. No broker. No bidding war. No competing offers. Just Karl, a thesis, and the patience to work a room that nobody else had walked into yet. One of those conversations turned into a sub-million-dollar acquisition at 2.7x SDE -a healthy, cash-flowing business with clients who'd been around for five-plus years. The seller had never seen a competitor's P&L in his life. Karl had seen twenty before he ever made the call. But here's where it gets interesting. That deal was just the beginning. Since then, Karl has been quietly building a portfolio of niche marketing agencies -the kind that are too small for private equity, too owner-dependent for most buyers, and too overlooked for anyone to notice the opportunity hiding inside them. Financing deals creatively. Targeting founders who are ready to move on. And figuring out in real time what it actually takes to merge two similar agencies without torching the clients that made them worth buying in the first place. In this episode, Jaryd sits down with Karl to unpack why small agencies rarely get a real exit -and why that's the opportunity. How Karl showed a seller the actual debt math before making an offer and closed with trust instead of pressure. And what he'd do completely differently if he had to start the integration process over again from day one. Most buyers wait for a clean deal to fall into their lap. Karl just built his own pipeline and went to find it.
April 2026: Life is full of challenges, especially in farming, and the global situation can be a heavy weight. It feels like the perfect time to re-release this encore conversation with UK farmer Tim Parton. If you want to be inspired, Tim is your man. We're wanting to remind everyone that Farmers are Heroes, nobody else can do what we do. Since this episode was recorded in 2023, Tim has faced even more personal challenges due to a serious farming accident. We caught up with him when we attended Groundswell in the UK last year, and look forward to another podcast chat with him soon - watch this space!...UK arable farmer of the year and Green Farm Collective founding member Tim Parton spent a week in Australia as part of VicNoTill's annual conference TRAN$ITION23. As well as inspiring over 100 farmers in the conference room, Tim hung out in soil pits and dug into soils with a shovel to gain a deeper understanding of regenerative farming systems in the Australian context. Dan Fox sat down in the podcast studio with Tim to discover what new ideas his visit had sparked. VicNoTill was also keen to find out how Tim is changing the narrative about farmers being the heroes when it comes to sequestering carbon and feeding the world.

Pete Forester and I have been circling each other in the sneaker and streetwear editorial world for well over a decade. Pete worked at Kith under Ronnie Fieg, wrote news for Complex Sneakers, covered the industry for Esquire, hosted two seasons of High Snobiety's From the Ground Up, and was editorial director at StockX. He also wrote the Sole Collector article that introduced the world to StockX before he ever worked there. We finally connected... and barely talked about shoes. The Highsnobiety show ended because the owner didn't like Pete's haircut. That story says everything you need to know about working in editorial inside someone else's brand, and it's just the starting point. What followed was a conversation about creative independence, the ethics of sneaker media, what happens to work when it gets deleted, and what two decades in this industry actually teaches you.Pete is currently writing books and publishing at his Substack: Okay, So.Find him at @Pete_Forester on most platforms.

After the perplexing success of last years look back through Dave Seaman's Filofax prompting our somewhat distant recollections of what we actually did in the studio that year we decided to go back in time again. 1995 was such an incredible year for us including the release of Take Thats" Nobody Else" album and "Never Forget" single and some of our favourite remixes ever including "Where Is The Feeling" by Kylie and "Your Loving Arms" by Billie Ray Martin. In amidst this we also discovered that Dave had his kitchen done. So if you feel this is the sort of thing you might enjoy then here we are , I can't apologise enough but from the amount of listeners to last year it appears some people seem to enjoy it. Thanks for listening and please discover other episodes all streaming now.

“Federico has made it alone, imagining much and working more, arriving from Ravenna, where he was born, to become part of King Charles III's task force.… Those who want to break the mold have to take risks, swim against the tide, walk untrodden paths.”—Giorgio Armani, from the foreword to The Geek of Chic. At the start of the 21st century, shopping online was still a futuristic fantasy. There was no Facebook, there were no iPhones. And yet, in the spring of 2000, Federico Marchetti invented one of the world's first platforms for online sales—and started a company that would revolutionize the luxury fashion sector. In THE GEEK OF CHIC: An American Dream, Italian Style (Post Hill Press; September 9, 2025; ISBN: 9798895650608; $18.99; 288 pages; Original Trade Paperback), international fashion business and tech icon Federico Marchetti, (with a foreword by Giorgio Armani), shares his engaging, honest and passionate memoir that reveals how he morphed from a geeky kid in the sleepy seaside town of Ravenna, Italy to a pioneer in online retail, offering practical advice for entrepreneurs and inspiration for visionaries and big dreamers. The Geek of Chic explains the present and future of Marchetti's life, including working on His Majesty King Charles III's service as Chair of The Sustainable Markets Initiative's Fashion Task Force, which includes brands such as Chloé, Armani, Burberry, Cucinelli, Stella McCartney, and Prada. In a sector known for individualism, Marchetti is uniting global luxury groups around a common goal of shifting towards a circular industry that is climate-conscious and nature-positive. The King of England now considers Marchetti his consigliere on matters of regenerative fashion and digital innovation, collaborating on several initiatives and projects. Unfolding against a backdrop of famed vistas—Milan, Lake Como, Venice, England's Royal Palace, New York City, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Dubai—and featuring encounters with notables from Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos to Giorgio Armani and Anna Wintour, The Geek of Chic's message is relevant to a new generation of entrepreneurs who wish to combine innovation, business acumen, and AI with humanism, creativity and empathy: how to achieve the American dream in an Italian way. Send us a textThis week I'm sharing a really personal story—not all the details, but the emotional experience of finding myself in a very sudden, very public, and really scary moment with Levi. It was one of those times where I could've spiraled, but something shifted in me.We're talking about the sneaky nature of self-pity, how it isolates us, and how powerful it can be to not go down that road—even when things are objectively really hard. I reflect on how my work as a coach gives me daily reminders that I'm not alone, and neither are you.I also share a powerful coaching session I had earlier that day that helped ground me in what I needed when everything hit the fan. This episode is your reminder: nothing has gone wrong. You're still in the driver's seat, and thriving doesn't mean everything's perfect—it just means you're still showing up, step by step. And PS: The Pathway to Peace Coaching Community opens again October 14!
