Welcome to Episode 4 in Season 2 of The People It Takes! In this weeks episode, our host, Lauryn, DROPS in at her alma mater, Arizona State University, with former cast member, Alyvia. Alyvia was apart of the Disney College Program in Orlando Florida and took on, arguably, one of the most coveted roles of all time. As a Bellhop at the Hollywood Tower of Terror, Alyvia fills us in on what it's really like being stuck in time in the Twilight Zone. Don't be fooled by her sweet appearance her spooky side almost always took over when entering the Twilight Zone. It is clear after listening to this conversation that Alyvia never took a day for granted when checking into work each day. Lauryn and Alyvia also discuss an Arizona State University secret? You would never guess how Disney played a role in a major part of this school. There is no question that Alyvia was one of the cast members guests encounter and never forget, but was it magic? Or was it the eerie Twilight Zone effect? Find out on tonights episode of The People It Takes. We hope you enjoy this episode and we are SO happy you're here. ALL opinions and experiences are our own, I, as well as my guests, do not speak on behalf of The Walt Disney Company in any way.
In this episode of Cast Conversations, join us as we dive into the magical world of Disney with our special guest, Bella. Bella shares captivating stories from her time working in Epcot's World Showcase festivals and gives us an exclusive peek into the backstage tour of the Hollywood Tower of Terror. From forgotten rides to contentious picks, they explore which experiences fall short of the Disney magic. In the 164th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave continue their conversation with author/speaker/creative brain and former Disney Imagineer McNair Wilson! In this second part of their long chat, McNair shares stories about Hoop de Doo Revue and the celebrities he met... a love of Rocky & Bullwinkle... more Eisner... more Marty Sklar... a friendship with Mel Brooks (and a crush on his wife... Mrs Robinson. Yep, that one.) Plus, sharing the story of designing the original ideas for Hollywood Tower of Terror and how it came to be what you know today. And, McNair shares the title and details of his new book, and we all answer the question of why Curiosity is such an important thing.

Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney. This week, we have some fun Disney Queue Trivia for you, but first, Disney News. There's a lot to say this week! In Disneyland Paris (which seems to be the testing ground for other parks) announced they're creating a Premier Access Ultimate Pass, which gives you a lightning lane for 12 attractions. Is it coming to the U.S. next? We shall see! Moving over to Tokyo Disneyland, the big news is they're redoing Space Mountain and Tomorrowland. The area will close in 2024 and reopen in 2027. Here in the U.S., the Paradise Pier Hotel in Disneyland will be redone to be Pixar-themed. Also in Disneyland, the Oogie Boogie Bash will be returning to Disneyland. Over in Disney World, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will also return (in August!) with some special overlays!!! And finally, down in Disney World, Florida's government repealed the Reedy Creek Improvement District that basically allows Disney to have their own sort of government since Disney sits in 2 different counties. We'll see what that means in the future. According to Kilimanjaro Safari, how did conservationists solve the conflict between farmers in Africa and wild elephants? What year do you get transported back to in the Hollywood Tower of Terror? Disney Imagineers spend a lot of time trying to make our wait time for rides in Disney World interesting. Answer these questions and more as we play Disney Queue Trivia. Thanks for listening and have a magical week! Check us out on Facebook and Youtube or submit a question/topic for us to discuss on a future episode or support us on Patreon.
Some movies are simply too great to be confined to cinema, and that is when rides are developed with cinema inspiration. But occasionally, a ride is so iconic that IT does the inspiring; which leads to movies such as Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, and Hollywood Tower of Terror being created. Join Brandon and Heather as they break down the first episode in Rides that Inspired their Movies series by covering Haunted Mansion. Find out if the movie or the ride wins in this ride vs. movie showdown.
Hello Travelers! This week's episode is all about your suggestions! We asked you what areas of Disney's Hollywood Studios you'd like us to explore, you responded, and we let you guys be the guide. Starting at Echo Lake, we venture down Sunset Blvd and pause to take in the sounds of the music and the crowd. Next we headed further down to the Hollywood Tower hotel to not only seek out some ambiance, but also take in a tour of the Tower of Terror store. After a brief stop for some dinner we walked over to the Grand Ave and Baseline Taphouse area, where we took some time to read the signage on the shops along Grand Avenue, and then took a left turn into Grand Park to get some Muppets vibes. We ended the night in Galaxy's Edge under the rising moons of Batuu and the sounds of arriving and departing ships. Thank you so much for giving us your thoughts - this was a very fun episode to record, and we hope you enjoy tagging along with us. Look us up at @WalkaboutWDW on Instagram and drop us a note to say hi! Find our producer Josh also on Instagram at @TheSteele.

5 Things We’ve Never Done, But Want To Do, At Walt Disney World - WDW Opinion Ep. 52 I think it’s safe to say no one person has ever been able to experience every single offering Disney World has. It’s probably impossible to do so. All the attractions and shows are one thing but think about all the dining experiences you would need to have. And then factor in all the other extras you could do. From recreation, resorts to explore and areas you’ve probably never heard of, there’s a lot of things you’ve most likely have never experienced at Disney. But that’s part of the reason why we keep going back. There’s always something experience that you never have gotten to before. Whether it’s a new attraction or an old classic you’ve never gotten around to, it’s tough to complete the full Disney checklist. We love riding our favorites trip after trip but, throwing in something we’ve never done before is a great way to keep Disney fresh. In today’s segment, Hank and I are going to discuss our top five things we’ve never experienced but really want to at Disney World. We probably have some surprises in here for you so let's see what round out our top five. Plus, Passholder preview dates are announced for Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge and a Cast Member had a heated encounter with a guest. All that and more on this episode of WDW Opinion. Drive around Hollywood neighborhoods and you can see buildings and structures that have been around since the development of the city. The art deco structure and their unique designs can almost tell stories of the golden era. Many of these structure were owned by major production companies, MGM, RKO, Warner, Paramount and 20th century Fox. Their purpose was to house fresh and new actors/actresses during their transition period in Hollywood. Within time these structures have seen many deaths, suicides and strange occurrences. Eventually they were passed down to different owners and were bought by other companies to turn them into public apartments. However, there is that saying, “if these walls can talk…” in a lot of these dwelling, they literally do. Press your ear against the wall, and you might hear something. Can it an old famous Hollywood resident that is trying to communicate with you from beyond the grave? Or could it be something else? We also talk about sipping mimosas with Mae West's ghost, LA rent and one famous Hollywood Hotel/Apartments that was the inspiration of Disney's Hollywood Tower of Terror Ride. Brice also shares his first Hollywood party experience on the rooftop of famous apartment building LOL! Stay tuned! Megan & Kris talk about what's scary at California Adventure (Disneyland Park is in a past episode) for young kids preschool aged and younger. Fear's Guide to What's Scary at California Adventure We're mainly pointing out California Adventure Attractions that can be scary for kids 5 and under (preschool age) or a 40 inch height requirement and lower. Hollywoodland Monsters Inc: This ride is a dark ride and features monsters. If your kids are familiar with the movie Monsters Inc., the monsters really aren't scary at all. Parents, use your discretion. Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout!: Having not opened as of the time of this recording, we really can't speak to this attraction, though it can be assumed that it will still be thrilling, especially since they're not changing the ride concept. Bugs Land It's Tough to Be a Bug: This is a 3D show that features startling aspects, smells and other interactive elements. Also, the villain from the movie, Hopper, makes an appearance which may be frightening to young ones. All Rides are ok: This is basically a "kiddie land," with all rides being designed specifically for young children. Cars Land Radiator Springs Racers: This is a dark ride, as well as a thrill ride. The beginning bakes you through various scenes from the movie Cars as you're gearing up for a race, which takes up the second half of the ride as you speed through a race course. A couple things you'll encounter in the dark ride portion are the harvester vehicle and an oncoming train. Luigi's Rollicking Roadsters: There's nothing really scary about this ride. Mater's Junkyard Jamboree: This is a ride in which you ride in trailers that spin around. It can tend to be a little rough and if your child doesn't like spinning, you might want to move onto something else. Paradise Pier Little Mermaid: This is a dark ride that features scenes from the classic movie The Little Mermaid, including a scene with Ursula, the sea witch, which may be scary for young kids. Toy Story Midway Mania: This is another dark ride which is a fun interactive game. Between sections though, the cars spin rather vigorously and may be an issue for youngsters. Triton's Carousel: It's a carousel, have fun! Mickey's Fun Wheel: This is basically a Farris Wheel with some fun modifications! Some of the gondolas (which you can choose) are on a track the makes it swing more than a normal gondola would swing. Plus, you have the heights. The gondolas are enclosed though, so it's safe. Mickey's Silly Symphony Swings: The issues you'll deal with here are swinging and heights. Jumping Jellyfish: This is a ride that takes you up high, and then lowers you down again. Think if it as a kiddie version of the Hollywood Tower of Terror without the "terror." Goofy's Sky School: This is a mini roller coaster with sharp hairpin turns and extreme ups and downs. It's a little rough too and the vantage points might be scary for young kids riding with you. Grizzly Peak Grizzly River Run: this is a fun raft ride that takes you through some rapids with plenty of spins, drops, and water. It is a bit if a thrill ride, and you will get wet! Soaring' Around the World: This is a wonderful ride that basically takes you up into a video projection transporting you to different places around the world as if you're visiting them via hang glider, granted, a very large hang glider that seats about 75 people. Simulated heights would be the biggest scare factor here. Come Join Our Facebook Group! Meandering Mouse and Meandering Mouse Club TV-(AUDIO and VIDEO) Disney Park Fun
**Headphones Suggested** This show begins with a real life haunted story from Disneyland told by a seasoned cast member. Next, I feature one last live in-the-park meandering from Disneyland before we head back to Walt Disney World in Florida. Join Greg (Micecast / Imagineering My Way) and I in Disneyland's California Adventure one evening as we explore some of the new Halloween decorations around the Hollywood Tower of Terror. Last, what spooky night in the park would be complete without a ride on Monsters. There is a little overlap of the Today I am at Disneyland show (episode 37) as I describe the Esplanade Halloween Decor once again while walking into the park....I provide a little more detail since it was my first time seeing the decor lit at night.
