Dani Rose is a country music singer-songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee. She's known for her work both as a solo artist and as a member of the country trio Honey County, which she co-founded in 2014. Her music blends contemporary country with elements of Nashville twang and soaring melodies, often reflecting her diverse roots from California, Virginia, and Tennessee. Some notable highlights of her career include her 2021 single "Got It From My Mama," which gained traction with over a million Spotify streams and was later re-released as a bilingual version with Mexican-American singer Chiquis in 2023. Her songs have appeared on TV shows like Yellowstone and True Blood, and she's performed at major festivals such as Stagecoach and CMA Fest. Rolling Stone, Billboard, and People Magazine have praised her work, with standout moments like her performance of "Country Strong" at Stagecoach 2019 alongside 150 line dancers, honoring victims of the Route 91 Harvest Festival tragedy. In 2023, she sang the National Anthem at Dodger Stadium and announced a country Christmas show in Los Angeles. Her recent releases, like the 2024 single "Good Mourning," showcase a bold, evolving style—its music video features her staging her own funeral as a metaphor for a new chapter in her life and career.
On this episode of March Forth with Mike Bauman, Mike chats with Maks Gabriel! Based in Nashville, Maks is a Canadian-American music producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Having studied classical piano growing up at The McGill Conservatory of Music in Montreal, Maks had a love and drive for music in his youth that propelled him to where he is today. Prior to moving to the Music City, Maks worked closely with Ryan Kowarsky of the group RyanDan. Together, they wrote and produced numerous hit songs with multiple Canadian artists, including Massari, Danny Fernandes, Belly, and Mia Martina. That success included a Juno nomination for "Dance Recording of the Year" for their work on Mia Martina's Devotion album. With a love for songwriting that eventually led him to Nashville, Maks continued to make a name for himself and build upon the musical foundation he built in Canada. Over the years, he's worked with artists ranging from Clint Lowery of Sevendust, members of 3 Doors Down, Honey County, Muscadine Bloodline, Cassadee Pope, and CB30, among others. He also produced and co-wrote the song "Got It From My Mama" from Honey County, which reached 1 billion views on TikTok. Additionally, Maks' love for TV & film has led to his songs being placed on hit shows like Yellowstone, Nashville, True Blood, The Mindy Project, and Roswell New Mexico, among others. In this episode, Maks talks with Mike about his early love for music, including studying classical piano under the renowned Russian piano virtuoso Marina Goglidze-Mdivani, what he learned about music from that experience, turning down multiple job promotions to chase his songwriting dreams, what it was like starting over in the Music City, and more. This episode of March Forth with Mike Bauman also features the cinematic remix of the song "I Mean This" from Maks Gabriel and Clint Lowery, available where you get your music! On the heels of one of her biggest years to date, including a record setting single with 'Got It from My Mama' , singer-songwriter Honey County describes the path that led to it -- growing up in Virginia, finding a passion for music early on and sharing musical experiences with her father, a transformational period in Italy and beyond. An artist who has crafted her own unique sound with contemporary country and timeless pop/rock that makes room for Nashville twang, Honey Country's (Real Name: Dani Rose) appearance on our show has been a long time coming. Honey County will be on tour in 2023 with new music and videos on the horizon.

Rooted in southern storytelling, punctuated by pop hooks, and brushed with California sunshine, Honey County is a harmony-heavy country duo featuring Dani Rose and Sofie Lynn. Formed in Los Angeles, the band also has roots in the Bible Belt (where founding member Rose sang her first songs as a Virginia native) and Texas (where Lynn fell in love with country music while studying nursing at Baylor University). That diversity is reflected in Honey County's music, a blend of contemporary country and timeless pop/rock that makes room for Nashville twang, West Coast harmonies and everything in between. You won't be able to find Honey County on a map — instead, Rose and Lynn create their own musical landscape: a place where the songs are anthemic, the harmonies are soaring, and two empowered women run the show. It's a sound that's taken Honey County around the world, from international shows in the Middle East and Africa to performances at American festivals like Stagecoach and CMA Fest. Along the way, they've earned raves from Rolling Stone Country (whose editors named Honey County one of "10 new country artists you need to know"), the LA Times (who rallied behind the resilient anthem "Country Strong," which Honey County performed alongside 150 line dancers at Stagecoach 2019 in commemoration of the lives lost at the Route 91 Harvest Festival) and Billboard. Their songs have been featured in NFL commercials, HBO's True Blood, CW's Roswell and three episodes of Yellowstone (with "Cigarette" appearing in the show's Season Three premiere), as well as curated playlists on Spotify (New Music Nashville, CMT's The Roundup) and Apple Music (Cool Country, Hot Tracks). With support from radio outlets (Radio Disney Country, KFROG, and Go Country 105) and a string of opening slots for country hitmakers (Lady Antebellum, Thompson Square, Old Dominion), Honey County has left its unique mark onstage, on-air and in the recording studio. Newer releases like "Woke Up Tired" continue the duo's tradition of matching supersized hooks with lyrics that shine a light on the modern-day female experience. These songs are rallying cries for anyone who has loved, lost or longed for something just out of reach and their personal details — written by Rose, Lynn and a tight group of collaborators — only make them more universal. Fueled by an appreciation for the country artists who've come before them and an appetite for breaking new ground, Honey County is excited to release new music and chase down new horizons.
