It is a privilege to welcome singer-songwriter Kelsie Watts to The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast. Born into a musical family, the Lubbock, Texas native developed her powerful vocals and artistry as a child. Her two musically talented parents encouraged Kelsie to pursue her craft after hearing her sing for the first time at two years old. Growing up performing in church and as the lead in her school plays, Kelsie went on to study opera, vocal performance, and commercial music at Belmont University. In Nashville, Kelsie began to hone her craft by songwriting and creating her own music that would soon launch her career. Kelsie began writing and releasing music independently, which caught the eye of industry professionals and her peers. In 2020, the emerging artist was asked to be the featured vocalist on AJ McLean's single, "Hurts to Love You, " released under McLean's ATCK venture. Following the single release, Kelsie auditioned for NBC's The Voice: Season 19. She wowed the judges and viewers with her version of Kelly Clarkson's "I Dare You," securing her a place on Team Kelly. The performance didn't take long to go viral across social media, and it has since gained millions of views. On the heels of her run as a member of Team Kelly, Kelsie focused on her career as an independent pop artist. Her single "Live Out Loud" was recorded by multi-platinum and GRAMMY Nominated producer NicoTheOwl. The track was the theme song for the Tokyo Sky Tree Global Campaign, Tree of Hope W1sh Ribbon Project. Legendary photographer and director Leslie Kee directed the official video for "Live Out Loud. The video streamed on loop 24/7 from Tokyo's Tokyo Sky Tree and was featured during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. In 2021, Kelsie Watts unveiled the powerful "Look What You Missed," an upbeat female empowerment track co-written with Casey Cook. Shortly after, she released "I Can't Say Goodbye," an anthemic ballad for anyone who has gone through a painful loss. Kelsie penned the song about the grief of losing her brother suddenly due to issues with his mental health in the hopes of helping others who have gone through similar anguish. No stranger to going viral, Kelsie has now accumulated over 100 million views across social platforms, including TikTok and Instagram, with her cover videos of iconic pop music, which she films from her home in Nashville. Her videos have caught the eye of ABC's Nightline, which recently featured her in an episode highlighting her videos and musical talent. She traveled the state amassing 32,000 miles doing speaking engagements and singing for various organizations. She now spends a lot of her time working at her family's boutique, which she opened with her mom in 2018. Like the other 7 contestants, Holly's been in Los Angeles for the last week, busily in rehearsals, wardrobe fittings, handling media, and everything else that's needed in preparation for the big premiere of the Live Rounds. Ohio Trio Becomes First Group to Win in the Show's 21-Season HistoryCoach Kelly Clarkson Takes “Voice” Crown for Fourth TimeUNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — Dec. 14, 2021 — Sibling trio Girl Named Tom, featuring Caleb (26), Joshua (24) and Bekah (20) Liechty from Pettisville, Ohio, and currently living in South Bend, Indiana, were crowned the champions of “The Voice” tonight.Girl Named Tom faced tough competition from the other finalists – Hailey Mia, also from Team Kelly, Wendy Moten and Paris Winningham from Team Blake, and Jershika Maple from Team Legend. In their Blind Audition, the trio, known for their beautiful family harmonies, earned a four-chair turn from all coaches for their rendition of “Helplessly Hoping” by Crosby, Stills & Nash. After an intense deliberation, the siblings chose Kelly Clarkson as their coach. They went on to win their Battle Round with a show-stopping performance of “Seven Bridges Road” by the Eagles and then their Knockout Round as well with a truly breathtaking interpretation of “Wichita Lineman” by Glen Campbell.During the live rounds, Girl Named Tom stepped out of their sweet spot in the folk genre to take on Coldplay's iconic “Viva la Vida.” After impressing coaches with their ability to pivot musical styles, they secured a spot in the Top 5 with a stunning cover of Joni Mitchell's “River.”On Monday night's telecast, Girl Named Tom once again showed their range with two timeless classics – “Baby Now That I've Found You” by The Foundations and “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac.On tonight's finale, Caleb, Joshua and Bekah were joined on stage by Clarkson for a catchy cover of “Leave Before You Love Me” by Marshmello and the Jonas Brothers.Girl Named Tom is the first act in the 21 seasons of “The Voice” to have four of their songs in the iTunes Top 10 at the same time. In addition, the group reached #1 twice on the main iTunes Top 200 chart with “River,” and “The Chain.” “Hits From the Road,” the group's self-titled album that was released in February, is currently #17 on the iTunes Top Albums chart, making them the first act in the show's history to have songs also charting in the Top 200 from their own self-released album.Girl Named Tom was the #1 most-viewed act on YouTube this season, with 8.9 million collective views.Hailing from a small town, this sibling trio was initially homeschooled where music became a big part of their curriculum. They enrolled in piano lessons at a young age and joined theater once they started attending public school. Despite their artistic upbringing, they all planned to become doctors, but things changed when their father was diagnosed with a rare cancer in 2017. When Bekah finished high school and the boys finished college, their father's prognosis was still unknown, so they decided to spend more time as a family and formed their trio in 2019. Girl Named Tom is grateful for the chance to bring joy to their family and hopes to make their hometown proud on “The Voice.”This season the Monday and Tuesday editions of “The Voice” are averaging a 1.1 rating in adults 18-49 and 8.1 million viewers overall in “live plus seven day” averages from Nielsen Media Research. In “live plus same day” Nielsens, “The Voice” is undefeated in 18-49 and total viewers this season in both its Monday and Tuesday timeslots versus regular competition on the Big 4 networks. “The Voice” also adds significant viewership through extended time-shifting on digital and linear platforms with the show's Sept. 21 season premiere now up to a 3.2 rating in adults 18-49 and 13.6 million viewers overall when viewership to date on all platforms is counted. “The Voice” is the #1 most-watched unscripted series for the 2020-21 season to date ahead of “The Masked Singer.”“The Voice” is a presentation of MGM Television, Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon, and ITV Studios The Voice USA, Inc. The series was created by John de Mol, who serves as an executive producer along with Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson and Adam H. Savanna Woods competed in this past season, Season 20 of The Voice on NBC. Woods competed on "Team Kelly" with superstar, Kelly Clarkson as her coach. Although she got voted off in the four way knockout, Woods impressed all four coaches with her talents over the course of her experience on the show. Prior to being part of the show, Savanna was in a band called "Waking Maya" which eventually allowed her to begin her own solo career as an artist, and she continues to work with other up and coming artists as she grows as a musician. Personally, I can't wait to see what the future has in store for Savanna and her rising career. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jayme-starr/support
We have been following the Grid Life series, especially their GLTC series for the last few years and since our schedules don't align this year, we thought we would interview several of the drivers, teams, and hosts for the next few episodes. Tiffany Kelly and Justin Kelly are both top drivers in the GLTC series and have competed as Team Kelly Racing. In addition, they have a racing school to teach other drivers and also race shifter karts to further hone their skills. During this episode, we go over their racing history, including what is GLTC for our listeners who may not be familiar. The Kelly's also have a fantastic YouTube channel where they go over many aspects of their racing lives and help show you how they do what they do. They were even nice enough to stay on and go through our Fast and Furious Storytime questions. We wish them both good luck in this weekend's GLTC race at Pikes Peak. In this issue of Dominating with Dawson, we start with what may be Bill's dumbest intro ever and then work our way onto the topic of how to exploit chaos on the track to help you improve on the performance of the car and team. Ben even has a bunch of examples of what he is referring to and how he routinely uses these areas to gain an advantage or pass a few of his fellow competitors. You can subscribe to our podcast on the podcast provider of your choice, including the Apple podcast app, Google music, Amazon, and YouTube etc. Also, if you could give our podcast a (5-star?) rating or even better, a podcast review, we would greatly appreciate it and it would help us to grow the passion and sport of high performance driving.
