AJ and Rhys are back once again to review a chaotic Round 5 of the NRL season. We had everything from crackdowns appearing to come and go, some great football, some indifferent football and some great laughs to be had along the way. AJ also has come up with a way to fix the short dropout! We analyse Canberra's great escape over the Sharks as we criticise how the Sharks are playing at the moment. What is Penrith's big problem at the moment as the Cowboys find their stride. We take a trip to Sydney Olympic Park as Souths with one fresh player beat the Roosters, leading AJ to declare the Chad Townsend experiment to be sent to the scrap heap and NEVER EVER return.Parramatta getting win number one of the year as Dylan Brown finds his stride. Rhys questions if the Ilias and Flanagan halves combination is the right one for the Red V as Clint Gutherson shows his stride. AJ delivers a classic Ryan Matterson yarn from the NSW Cup.The Titans continue their inconsistency, but we have praise for the Brimson/Campbell halves combination. The Dolphins also get off their duck as their forwards deliver a big win as Katoa and Nikorima continue their dominance. Brisbane show their class in a great way over the Tigers despite a shaky first half. Tigers just missing some experience out there in this one.Melbourne have a great opening hour, but the last twenty they turned off as the stars got an early mark. Manly did go with them early but when Melbourne get going, good luck and amen ladies and gents. Canterbury tough out a terrific win at home. Newcastle were struggling for numbers (down to 14 in the second half). We also return our segment Yes they are still PLAYING! as well as our LOLCOW OF THE WEEK!
AJ and Rhys are back to review Round 4 of the NRL Telstra Premiership and we have a crazy week to review. We also have some major breaking news on the future of NRL referees and their current contract status'.On the show- South Sydney dominance as Penrith's premiership defence looks on shaky ground. Jye Gray - will he be the fullback or does Trell claim his 1 jumper back.- Gold Coast win two straight against a frustrated Roosters side. AJ casts his eyes on the problems in attack and praises some of his forwards.- Brisbane claim the Battle of Brisbane as we question the Dad's Army approach of the Dolphins and highlight the emergence of Shibasaki.- Dragons show their muscle thanks to a leaders showing from Clint Gutherson. Plus we question whether or not Tyran Wishart is the halfback several clubs are chasing.- Cowboys get their first win as Canberra's resillience is questioned. Does Jeremiah Nanai get the start on the edge.- Canterbury show their class for the first time against a premiership contender - Do Cronulla have the resillience to overcome adversity in big matches?- Parramatta's bad start gets worse as questions linger around Dylan Brown and his form and we ask the big question about Tommy Turbo's hamstring.- The match of the round, the Warriors and Tigers show us a great game of football and how Andrew Webster properly used his interchange bench.- Our new segment YES THEY ARE STILL PLAYING FOOTBALL- Plus we finish off with our LOLCOW of the Week.

It's the final Rugby League episode of the year as we pack it up for Season 2024! We recap the Pacific Championships, highlighting top performers, surprise packets and some of the tournament's biggest letdowns whilst debating on this year's Golden Boot winner. Just like that Clint Gutherson is no longer an Eel and is now a Dragon. The Tip Sheet signs off on Gutho's stellar career at the club as Sixties and Forty20 celebrate his legacy as an Eel. The show then delves into the latest developments on Josh Addo-Carr and Jayden Brailey for the club. AJ Brimson landed himself momentarily in a spot of bother on Melbourne Cup Day but successfuly employed the Shane Warne defence. The reasons why Terrell May is no longer a Rooster take another twist while Exra Mam is in the hole for nearly half a million dollars after his car crash. It is a lot to sift through but the biggest news this week is the Knights Group officially backing the bid for the Christchurch Orcas. Finally, the boys continue their coverage of the Pacific Champions as we reach the finals batch of games. Tonga are preparing to upset the Kangaroos in the men's final while the Jillaroos are looking to wrap up a dominant international campaign in their rematch with the Kiwi Ferns. Alongside both these games are the crossover matches between New Zealand and PNG for the men and Samoa and PNG for the women.
Assistant coach for Tonga and the Dragons Dean Young says his focus is on the Tongan team as rumours mount regarding Clint Gutherson's potential signing with the Dragons.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

For a couple of years there's been plenty of metaphorical smoke around Ben Hunt's future. Now we have actual fire. The Dragons have cut ties with their own captain, meaning the playmaker is the hottest free agent on the market. The boys are back with Eddie, Nick, Declan, and Steve giving one thing they like about the off-season, as well as one Tigers-related rant. We dive into a deep discussion on the history of underperforming senior players against the culture and training standards at the club and who is more to blame. We look at John Bateman's contract situation and whether more shaking of the tree needs to be done at Concord. Eddie asks the boys what is one roster decision that is most important if they were in control over the next couple of months. Eddie also states his case as to why the Wests Tigers need to sign Clint Gutherson as our fullback for the next two seasons. Plus another edition of Buy, Sell, and Hold including whether it's time to drop the burden of captaincy on Api Koroisau, and whether Jack Bird can be our answer next season at lock. It's a jam-packed edition with all that and more in over an hour's worth of debate in episode 364 of the Wests Tigers Podcast.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This bombshell news forced an extra recording session for The Tip Sheet as Sixties and Forty20 react to the news and what it all means. Clint is also there for everything else on this week's podcast! The other Parra news looks at the Eels who earned representative honours in what was originally a fairly brief Parra news section. In the NRL the boys review all three grand finals starting with the surprise result in the State Championship as the Devils snapped a long losing streak for QLD clubs in a narrow victory over the Jets. Cronulla rallied in the second half of the NRLW decider but just fell short against the Roosters while Penrith continue to climb to dizzying heights with their 4th straight NRL title. What were the controversial selections and no-selections in the representative scene? What the hell has happened to the Western Australian expansion bid? The show discusses both topics before signing off.

They might have gone down by 18pts to the Melbourne Storm but it was easily the best energy and effort we have seen from the Eels for weeks. if not months. Sadly, they let themselves down in execution and their own playcalling to let slip a golden chance to stun the presumptive minor premiers. Sixties and Forty20 discuss the Round 21 result and how the Eels rallied in spite of a gulf in available talent between the two teams. As expected, Clint Gutherson stood tall in his 200th game as a Parramatta Eel but who else stood out alongside him? The boys were joined by an icon of the code in the Pregame Show as Sixties and Forty20 welcomed Steven Edge to The Tip Sheet. Captain of Parramatta's historic 3-peat (and a couple more at the Dragons!) and a foundational player in State of Origin, Edge is very much a living legend and he shares a wealth of knowledge and insight with the boys.
