Happy Holidays outdoor minimalist listeners. I can't believe this is the third holiday season I get to spend with all of you! To give the team a bit of a break over the next two weeks, we decided to repost one of our most popular and well-loved episodes –The Christmas Tree Display. If you haven't heard this, you're in for a treat! Before we get to the special though, I have a few announcements. First, the Forever Chemicals podcast was recently nominated for the Sports Podcast Awards! While we like to think of ourselves as a science podcast, it is an honor to be a finalist in the sports documentary category. We were nominated because we cover the use of hazardous chemicals in sporting equipment and outdoor gear. That said, it would mean the world to us if you took a minute to cast a vote for the Forever Chemicals podcast. The link is in the show notes as well as in all of our social media bios. Voting is open until January 13th and winners will be announced on January 30th. The second announcement I have is that I've also included a link to our listener survey in the show notes and will be sending these out in the next few email newsletters. Last year was the first year we tried a listener survey, and it helped us a lot to hear directly from you about the show. Your input helps us create a more impactful show and cover topics and interview guests that interest you most. I've made some updates to the listener survey since last year, including the option to have a sit down chat with me, your host so I can hear from you directly and get to know you better. If you're interested in sharing your thoughts directly with me and scheduling a video call, please fill out the survey in the show notes! With that, thank you again for making this our best year yet, and happy holidays. Pastor Jay Stewart is more worried about the approval of God than being controversial. His powerful testimony has influenced women to change lives, called parents to repent from participating in abortion, and emboldened his congregation to be bold in their pro-life stance. We shift gears a bit and take a step back from deep tech and attempt to provide some experienced based advice for those working on careers. Suggested by our own own Jay Stewart, we each give a bit of our origin story and attempt to provide some hard learned lessons about it being completely OK - and in fact healthier - to not have the always-labbing grindset, to take chances, and to embrace risk, and *gasp* pick a topic to specialize in.

"Multihoming IPv6 is a pathway to many things some consider to be ......unnatural." ―Darth Sidious, maybe. In this episode of MODEM, we get super nerdy about the current state of multihoming IPv6 and all of the gory details and exposed limitations. Join Chris Cummings, Nick Buraglio, and John Osmond as we discuss a new IETF draft that describes the current state of multihoming in the IPv6 world. And no, we aren't just talking about BGP. And just for Jay Stewart, we've added in a handful of movie references.

Today, Nikita sits down with Pastor Jay Stewart and Justin Reeder. Listen as they discuss a very meaningful topic on their hearts.
God often works through divine interruptions, but we are often too busy to recognize them. We must learn to see the needs of those right in front of us and begin to take action. In this message, Pastor Jay encourages us to do for the one what we wish we could do for many. And in turn, we will find our capacity for compassion to increase.
We can't worship and worry at the same time. Worship may not change the circumstance, but it will shift your perspective. In this message, Pastor Jay encourages us to pursue the Lord in worship and watch Him work in and through us.
"Quality of Service". That nebulous term that is very capable of bringing out the frothing-at-the-mouth, highly opinionated engineers that either love it or hate it. As polarizing as it is, the real question is "what in the heck *is* it?!". For a topic that is so, so able to cause a cavernous divide between even the most sane, seasoned, and and stoic engineers, the definition is exceptionally hard to nail down. So, in keeping with the theme of "giving the people what they want", Nick, Chris Cummings, Chris Young, John Osmon, and special guest star Jay Stewart try to define it. Do we succeed? You'll have to listen to find out.

Selfishness takes our focus off of our God-given purpose and shifts it to self-serving ambitions. In this message, Pastor Jay encourages us to deal with the pride that is selfishness and choose to die daily to our own selfish ambitions and seek His kingdom.
Weariness without worship will lead to weakness. When we let weariness become our only narrative, our outlook darkens and our perspective becomes distorted. In the third week of Break The Tape, Pastor Jay encourages us to deal with the weariness we can be so burdened by and gives practical steps to overcome.

What would you do if you were the target of false accusations, and the very platform you'd been given was suddenly ripped out from beneath you? That's the situation that my guest, David Benham, faced along with his brother, Jason, in 2014 when HGTV pulled the plug on their reality show "Flip It Forward" just as it was about to premiere because of their vocal stance for the Biblical truth about life, abortion, and marriage. They were canceled even though they'd already told the producers and executives what they believed! As David says, they were cancel culture before it was a hashtag. But as the Lord opened doors for the brothers to share their story, they found over and over that people would tell them that they agreed with them, and were thankful for their bold witness. This only strengthened their resolve to stoke the fires within all believers to speak God's truth out loud and in the public arena. As you listen, you'll be convicted, encouraged, and most of all inspired that the same God who protected and promoted David, will also protect and promote you.Links to stay in touch with David:Connect with David on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.Learn more about David and Jason at www.benhambrothers.comGet the free book David mentioned, Expert Ownership, herePurchase a copy of David's book, Living Among Lions, on Amazon.Join the weekly Living Among Lions Livestream on their website or YouTube channel David mentioned the book, Challenging Conversations, by Jason Jimenez.Get more information about the Leaders Cadre with Jay Stewart at The Refuge.- - - - - - - - - -Be sure to subscribe to The Reluctant Leader Podcast wherever you listen to podcasts, and share this with a friend or two so we can bring more people along with us on the journey. In this episode of The Reluctant Leader Podcast, Paul welcomes good friend, Pastor Jay Stewart, the Founding and Lead Pastor of The Refuge Church in Kannapolis, North Carolina. As you listen to Jay's story, we think you'll be encouraged to see your own story differently. Over a span of 4 decades of faithful ministry, Jay has seen firsthand the supernatural outcomes that follow simple obedience, and none more so than what began in the concourse of The Refuge in 2014 when he was approached by a tall, African-American man and asked a question. The answer Jay gave that man set in motion a series of events that eventually landed both of them in the national spotlight, and changed the trajectory of The Refuge Church forever. But that's Jay's story to tell, and you're going to enjoy every minute of it!If you'd like to follow Pastor Jay and his ministry, you can do so at the links below:Learn more about his work and ministry at www.therefuge.netFind Pastor Jay on InstagramPurchase a copy of Jay's book, Welded, on AmazonGo to Right Now Media to find the small group study to use with Welded- - - - - - - - - -Be sure to subscribe to The Reluctant Leader Podcast wherever you listen to podcasts, and share this with a friend or two so we can bring more people along with us on the journey. It Pays To Be Married was a daytime game show in which married couples told stories of obstacles they overcame to build a healthier relationship. They were later quizzed for cash and prizes. Hosted by Jay Stewart, it first came to Mutual's airwaves on September 28th, 1953. On March 8th, 1954 the celebrity guests were Phil Harris and Alice Faye. By 1954 Harris and Faye were national icons. After years on Jack Benny's and later his own program, Phil Harris' character was one of the most established in the entertainment business. However, The Harris and Faye show's rating that season was under 3.3. With radio on its way out, NBC cancelled their program at the end of the season. The last episode aired on June 18th, 1954. It Pays To Be Married would shift to NBC before being cancelled in October of 1955.

It can be easy to make excuses but God has called us to exhibit active compassion to the world around us. In the parable of the good Samaritan, we see three people who are fully capable of caring for the wounded man but who make excuses based upon certain life barriers. In this message, we are looking at three barriers that often keep us from living the active compassion that God has called us too.
While we may have many ways of expressing our love, God has made clear how He expects us to express our love to Him. Jesus takes the 10 Commandments and introduces life style principles that take them to a higher level. He does not reduces them or discard them. We pray this message encourages you to examine your life in the mirror of God's Word and take action.
God designed us to live in such a way that as we demonstrate our love to each other we use our unique gifts and expressions in a way that creates a beautiful display for the world to see bringing glory to God. If we offer our gifts without God's love and grace then our purpose will be lost and we will simply by clanging symbols.
You will never discover true purpose in isolation. We all need to surround ourselves with people who will help unlock the dream of God over our lives, who value and fight for unity, and will take action. We pray this message stirs your heart and encourages you to find and develop biblical relationship in your life.
When we dedicate something, we are declaring its purpose, and recognizing its value and priority in our lives. In this month we will examine A – Adoration, D – Dedication, O – Obedience, R – Relationship, E – Expectation. As we do, invite the Holy Spirit to direct your steps so you can be lead into deeper relationship and holy order.
Whatever holds the highest priority in our lives orders every thing about our lives. Truly, what you adore, controls your life. In this month we will examine A – Adoration, D – Dedication, O – Obedience, R – Relationship, E – Expectation. As we do, invite the Holy Spirit to direct your steps so you can be lead into deeper relationship and holy order.

If we are too focused on the “what” of life, we will miss the real meaning and message of the “who”. The man Jesus is the message! He is the “who” that brings all the hope and help we need. Don't reach past the man as you look for your miracle. He's all in all!
To anticipate something is to expect or look ahead with pleasure. In this season there are many things to look forward to and anticipate. However, some people are more naturally wired to anticipate good things while others are more inclined to anticipate the worst-case scenario. Regardless of your disposition, Jesus has given us His precious promises so that we would anticipate the good things He has in store for all who would believe in Him and His Word. In the month of December we are reminding ourselves of these wonderful things.

It was November 2010. While hosting a conference in Ft. Worth, I reconnected with my dear friend, Brad Stewart. After dinner, he invited me to a rehearsal for his church choir. When we arrived at the small church in Arlington, he asked me to come and sit in the choir. I said, “Brad, I don't sing.” He said, “You don't have to. Just sit with us.” As they began to sing, I closed my eyes and there, in the middle of the choir, I felt “surrounded” by the voices of angels. The voices of God. This became the inspiration for the song, Surround, on Brad's new album, “Saved From The Fire.” It is one of a handful, I've had the honor of co-writing with my longtime friend. It is with great pleasure that Bradley Jay Stewart is my guest on this week's radio show. I know you'll be inspired by his story, as we premiere “Surround.” ~Sonny Melendrez Show notes: https://SonnyRadio.com/Bradley-Jay-Stewart
