This week Steve chats with Wana Brands' Chief Marketing Officer, Joe Hodas.
Marketing is a tough job — tougher in cannabis. And a lot has changed in the industry over the past decade. One thing that hasn't changed? The fundamentals. Wana Brands Chief Marketing Officer Joe Hodas sat down and chatted with Vangst CEO, Karson Humiston about his journey from the "traditional" advertising industry to leading the marketing of some of the biggest brands in cannabis. His work at Wana Brands has led to the edible giant's expansion into 15 states and two countries — and the brand recently struck a $298M deal with Canopy Growth. Whether you're looking to get into cannabis marketing to build a great brand or are trying to build a team, this episode is a must-listen. The key is always finding the right fit for both employers and their staff, Joe said, and this is how you do it.Produced by PodConxProud To Work In Cannabis - https://podconx.com/podcasts/proud-to-work-in-cannabisKarson Humiston - https://podconx.com/guests/karson-humistonVangst - https://vangst.com/Joe Hodas - https://podconx.com/guests/joe-hodasWana Brands - https://www.wanabrands.com/

The Big Candy industry is not pleased with bad actors in the illicit cannabis space stealing their logos. We're joined by Joe Hodas, CMO of Wana Brands, the largest edibles company in North America, to discuss the situation and solutions.

The cannabis infused products sector is very competitive; the constant surge of new brands make it difficult for established brands to maintain their market share. Despite the competition, Wana Brands, the number one edible brand in the United States in 2019 continues to increase its market share and expand into new markets. Joe Hodas joins Dan Humiston to talk about navigating the growth of their brand during the pandemic.Produced By MJBulls

Dave Inman speaks with Joe Hodas, chief marketing officer at Dixie Brands, about their product Dixie Elixirs and how they are the future of cannabis. Listen in as the two delve into the prospects of cannabis for production and consumption, even for pets!
Joe Hodas, CMO of Dixie Brands, gives us a “Audio Tour” of the facility where they produce their line of award-winning edibles. True to their core mission, Dixie insists on total transparency in their headquarters, which is lined by windows to show all aspects of the production process for any and all who wish to take a look at what is going on inside. They use their space to promote other companies they believe in, as well as an arena for education. They are as focused on legitimizing the industry and advocating on behalf of cannabis as they are focused on creating top-quality products for cannabis consumers and patients. Enjoy! FOLLOW ALONG WITH PICTURES FROM THE TOUR!
After spending his early post-college years bartending and skiing in Boulder, Joe Hodas got a Masters in Communications. This degree led him to jobs with several companies in the early tech industry, as well as through a stint with Frontier Airlines, but it was during his tenure with an advertising agency that got him connected with Tripp Keber. As Tripp and Dixie Elixirs sought to make a big splash in cannabis, they knew they needed some expertise on the branding and marketing front, and Joe was just the right person for the job. Nowadays, we know Dixie as one of the strongest brands in the cannabis industry, a beacon of legitimacy and business savvy that sets its sights high, and seems to go nowhere but upwards. Joe takes us through the core mission of Dixie, what they see on their horizon, and where they think the industry in general is headed. Enjoy!
