The Echo Podcast crew wrap up on the Cork GAA season with a look back on the highs and lows of 2025.The focus is on club action, with the Reardens All-Star teams announced in ladies football, camogie, hurling and football. They break down the 15 picks in each code and reveal some of the players who were very lucky not to make the cut.The county champions, St Finbarr's, in camogie and football, Éire Óg in ladies football and Sarsfields in hurling, are understandably to the fore in the All-Star line-ups.A big effort was made to take in those who performed impressively without lifting silverware as well, even if their teams didn't get past the quarter-final stages or even ended up in relegation battles. As has been the case since the first Reardens All-Stars in 2012, there is a blend of marquee inter-county players and unsung club heroes in the teams.A weekend washout impacted the local matches and saw the Tom Creedon Cup final and U21 games postponed but the All-Ireland camogie final double bill in Croke Park went ahead.Ballincollig couldn't build on a strong run midway through the first half and a Leah Hannigan goal in their intermediate decider against Camross. The Laois said had that bit more in the second half to win by four points. The Collig didn't have any major complaints after and while they missed out on an All-Ireland, they laid down a marker by being the first team in the club to reach that stage.St Finbarr's were left more frustrated as, though they'll have another chance in the January replay, they were in a superb position coming down the stretch in the senior final against Athenry. After performing so well for so long, they conceded 1-3 without reply. The Barrs had twice needed extra, extra time on their journey to Croker, so they appreciate the fine margins at this level. They simply have to dust themselves down and go again after Christmas. What was definitely a huge plus from the action on Jones Road was the quality of both finals, which reflected very well on Cork camogieNow in its third season, every week Éamonn Murphy is joined by The Echo team, including Barry O'Mahony, Denis Hurley, Rory Noonan, Jack McKay, John Horgan and more to discuss all the latest Cork GAA news on and off the field. Clare's minor ladies footballers have been crowned All Ireland champions. Barry Donnelly's side secured a 1-8 to 0-7 win over reigning champions Sligo in the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence in Bekan, Co Mayo this afternoon. The crucial score, a goal off the boot of Aoibheann Ryan, came just before the half time whistle to give Clare a 1-3 to 0-4 lead as the sides headed for the dressing room. Clare FM analyst Evan Talty says Clare showed immense resilience to grind out the result in the closing stages.
Galway are out of the All-Ireland senior ladies football championship after a heartbreaking semi-final defeat to Dublin in Glenfisk O'Connor Park, Tullamore on Saturday night (19th July 2025). In an enthralling encounter, a Hannah Tyrrell first-half penalty kept Dublin in the hunt, but Andrea Trill, with her first kick of the game, looked to have scored the match winner in normal time, only for Tyrrell to equalise at 0-13 to 1-10 and force extra-time. The Leinster champions edged in front before two second-period goals from Carla Rowe and Kate Sullivan put nine points between them. However, Galway refused to concede as Trill and Olivia Divilly scored late Galway goals, but time eventually ran out. Galway Bay FM's match commentary team were Tommy Devane and Katelyn Hayes.

Four-time All-Ireland winner Ciara Trant and Team OTB's own Rachel Sheehan joined Ger and Colm on this morning's Off The Ball Breakfast. With the All-Ireland Ladies Senior Football Championship semi-finals to take place this Saturday evening, Ciara and Rachel broke down what we can expect from the two ties: Dublin vs Galway and Kerry vs Meath. The reigning champions Kerry are everyone's favourite to retain the Brendan Martin Cup, but Ciara is still not convinced they're playing like champions... as often as they ought to be, at least! Can Meath catch them this weekend? And in what is Dublin's first season post-Mick Bohan, how does Paul Casey have the team playing? Will they be able to avenge last year's result - Bohan's last game in charge - when Galway knocked Dublin out of the championship? The boss of the Clare minor ladies football team says his side must be clinical if they're to secure their place in the All Ireland Final. The Banner travel to Roscommon this evening to take on Monaghan in their last four tie in Tarmonbarry. Clare come into the game off the back of an impressive showing last time out, where they claimed the Munster title with a six point win over Tipperary. Manager, Barry Donnelly, says the Ulster side will prove a stern defensive test and that his side will need to ensure their conversion rate is high. Throw in this evening is at 7:30pm.

Clare's progress in the All Ireland Ladies Football Intermediate Championship has been halted at the quarter final stage Monaghan have advanced to the last four after their 1-14 to 1-8 win over Graham Shine's side in Quilty this afternoon. The Banner trailed by two points at the break but could only manage three second half points as Monaghan kicked a further seven. Clare FM Analyst Niall Hickey says the slow start to the second half was costly.
The four-time All-Ireland winner Ciara Trant and OTB's Rachel Sheehan were back in studio with Ger and Colm on Thursday's Off The Ball Breakfast. With the quarter-final draw with the All-Ireland Ladies Senior Football Championship confirmed, Ciara and Rachel assessed which teams are looking best set for a charge through the knockout rounds. Beyond that, Ciara and Rachel considered whether Ladies Gaelic Football needs to take a look at adopting some of the rules that have reinvigorated men's Gaelic football, and what the split-season has done to damage the sport in terms of attendance and media interest. With the All-Ireland Senior Ladies Football Championship group stages underway, Ciara assessed the opening weekend's round of games - including Dublin's lucky escape in Waterford, and why Leitrim could be in for a tough time this Saturday. On a wider scale, the guys considered whether or not there is anything the LGFA can do about Irish players joining up with AFLW clubs in Australia, and how much it is actually impacting Ladies Gaelic football in Ireland.
