Two deeply disturbing cases in France have reignited national debate about how the justice system handles sexual violence. In December last year, Dominique Pelicot was found guilty of repeatedly drugging and raping his wife while she was unconscious and inviting other men to do the same. Isn't it fun to watch football when your favourite team actually works. Team work is the key for a positive start of the season as we are taking a step away from individual brilliance and banking on cohesion and collective push. Of course PSG have many brilliant players, but the egos are manageable. We are in this together, or so it seems. Big words to describe this episode, but there's a lot to go through as we have embarked on this new journey under the instructions by Luis Enrique. We talk about him, but also the whole squad from Lee Kong In and Bradley Barcola to Désiré Doué and Warren Zaire-Emery. And the magnificent start by João Ness who immediately broke one of Neymar's records. There are many great talents and we look at these things in a way that could be described as holistic. The women's team is in Australia now and we look into the personality that is Mary Earps. She is a type of player we haven't had before and great news about Jackie Groenen who has extended her contract with PSG. PSG: Luis Enrique: "We aim to fight for every title. Mary Earps takes over the reins as the host to ask your questions including what players do with old club tracksuits and Tooney and Russo's favourite spots in Ibiza. Mary discloses some exclusive knowledge from the Manchester United training ground relating to last season and also designs her ideal dinner party guests.
Long time friend of the podcast, PSG's Mary Earps joins the crew whilst on holiday to discuss the upcoming move to Paris, the reasons for her departure from Manchester United and spills the tea about the trio's experiences in Ibiza so far. You'll hear more tales from inside the England camp and Vick asks whether she'd be allowed into the Lionesses' dressing room if she played a specific artist for manager Sarina Weigman.
Where to even start with this episode. Everything is new and all seems possible. Well, not everything is actually, literally new, but there's a new era upon us and that's quite exciting. We look into how PSG players did in the Euros and Copa America very much including the heroics of the fresh continental champion Fabian Ruiz who surprised us all by being possibly even the best player of the tournament! I am not a betting man, but even if I was, I doubt that I would have put many euros on that. We talk about the transfer rumours, the preseason, and women's team including new players like Mary Earps. What does getting a player of that profile and fame mean for the team? We thank Papus Camara and what's up with Ligue 1 TV deal? Is it dead in the water and what impact does this all have on the league and us by its logical extension. Hopefully you enjoy the episode.
