Thank you so much for joining this conversation. Nancy Hicks shares from her heart, as well as from her lived experience with grief and loss, her theological education and training, and her personal and prophetic voice for change in the church and the wider world. We thank Nancy for demonstrating courage and modeling healthy vulnerability as she shares stories of loss related to the death of her beloved son and the clergy sexual violation of one of her children. She also guides us through the ‘way back' from the depths of despair towards a growing peace and confidence in her relationship with God and others and her roles as a speaker, communication coach and media spokesperson. Every believer has not only the opportunity to demonstrate the principles of Jesus in their life, but they also have the responsibility to do so. Living for Jesus and demonstrating His power and His might through your life is a magnificent way to lead others to Jesus. Acts 16:31 says, “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Join us in this podcast of Woman at the Well Ministries as Kim takes us on a journey through the scriptures exposing Daniel's witness and the fruits it brought. Those who are around Godly people have a much greater opportunity to be saved than those who don't. Come join Kimberly Miller and learn the power of a Godly witness. Kim-isms from today's podcast: “God has no boundaries and when you are doing something for Jesus, He will multiply it. “Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.” Paul (Romans 12:16) As I stated last week, in one way or another all the "one anothers" point to love and loving one another. That's why Jesus could sum up all the law and the prophets with the two greatest commands and in fulfilling the second command The Holy Spirit guided men to write all the "one anothers." Christmas is often thought of as the season of joy. There are twinkly lights, joyous carols, and delightful sweets around every corner... but for many, this season brings about different emotions: frustration, loneliness, or sadness. If you aren't feeling so "sparkly" and joyful this season, you aren't alone. Jesus has come to meet you right where you are... in the middle of this AND that. Today, my friend, Nancy Hicks is here to share with us about holding both grief AND hope. Nancy lost her son, David, at the age of 28, about 18 months ago. She vulnerably shares with us about her grieving process, the questions she's asked of God, and the thread of hope she's clinging to. Nancy Hicks is a dynamic, relevant Christian speaker, teacher and writer whose passion is to ignite women to confidence and power in Christ. Nancy has been in professional communication her entire career. From singing on the main stage in concert and musical theater across Canada to spokesperson on QVC, she has used these gifts of communication to serve her local church through preaching, teaching and leading. After earning her master's degree in theology from Palmer Seminary of Eastern University, Nancy launched her international speaking ministry, Nancy Hicks Live. Today, Nancy inspires women by equipping them to be grounded in Jesus Christ while wrestling with the often uncomfortable intersection of faith, organized religion and the realities of this world. The author of Meant to Live: Living in Light of the Good News, Nancy has been featured on Hallmark's Home & Family, The Jesus Calling Podcast, Trinity Broadcast Network, 100 Huntley Street, as well as in Relevant Magazine, Propel Women, Publishers Weekly, The Christian Post, Christian News Journal, Philadelphia Weekly and more. She and her husband, Cam, have been married since 1990 and have two sons—Aaron, who is married to his darling wife, Rachel, and their beloved David who now lives in heaven after a long, courageous battle with cancer. On this episode of #RollingRocksRadio Scott and Jerry welcome Abby Harrison, AKA @Theabbyshaw , to talk about a topic that's very close to their lives, Lyme Disease. Abby is a #BJJ player, equestrian, and overall badass who's trying to bring a much needed positive message to the Chronic Lyme and CoInfection community. Abby's blog, The Chronically Ill Athlete chronicles Abby's successes (and struggles) as she lives her life to the fullest with Lymes. Abby can be found on: Instagram: @theabbyshaw Blog: The Chronically Ill Athlete A note on the title of this episode. I've noticed a tendency in the equestrian community to have a "Screw it, let's do it" attitude about EVERYTHING. Haven't ridden in Western show? Screw it, let's do it. Compete in Pans as a white belt? Screw it, let's do it. This attitude is missing in general society today. Abby embodies this attitude in everything she does and it's a breath of fresh air. Everyone, Chronically Ill or not, could learn a lot from this attitude.
