A six-figure income didn't save his marriage, so this investor rebuilt everything from scratch.Jason Wojo cleared six figures his first year flipping houses, and it still cost him his marriage. He ended up selling his house and living on an air mattress in one of his own rehabs. That collapse forced him to rethink how he ran his business entirely, and the result became his book, Business for Life. In this conversation, Jason and Jack talk through what financial freedom actually means, why hustle culture quietly wrecks the things that matter most, and the exact framework Jason now uses to automate and delegate his way to a business that fits his life instead of consuming it. If you're making good money but feel like you're losing ground everywhere else, this one is worth the full listen.Key topics:Redefining financial freedom for real estate investorsThe three-step freedom formula for defining your vision before you buildThe "heaven's gates" exercise for figuring out what actually mattersThe SEAD framework (Strategize, Eliminate, Automate, Delegate)Why house flipping often turns into a disguised jobGuest bio:Jason Wojo is a real estate investor, entrepreneur, and author of Business for Life: Building a Profitable Business That Gives You Your Time, Freedom, and Life Back. Ricky Norris spent a decade shooting documentaries overseas before trading the airports for a San Diego studio, a wife, and three daughters. Now he's running Kilometer Zero and wrestling with the thing nobody warns you about in film school — that you're not just a filmmaker, you're a business of one, and nobody handed you the manual. In this conversation we dig into why a wide net catches the wrong clients, who to hire first when you're finally ready to stop being an island, and how to structure a week so the work stops following you to the dinner table. Key Takeaways A wide net isn't a strategy. When you'll take any project that pays, you end up with a patchwork of unrelated businesses instead of one real one — and no clear reason for anyone to choose you. Your first hire probably isn't creative. Admin, calendar, inbox, and fit calls buy back more hours than another editor, and those hours are what let you work on the business. One plus one should equal three. Hiring isn't subtracting salary from revenue — done right, the accountability and capacity should multiply what the business can actually produce. You'll never reach the bottom of the list. There's always another email, another marketing task, another lunch you could book. Time blocking and daily themes beat reacting to whatever hits the inbox. In this episode [00:00] Welcome to the show! And when you pop that bubble, everything decompresses." — Ricky Norris "It's a really big net, and none of the right fish are going in, because it's too wide." — Ricky Norris "There's no HR company. You are your HR company." — Ricky Norris "If I'm starting to hire my first employee, it's not going to be a shooter or an editor. It's going to be somebody that's going to help me on the administrative side." — Ryan Koral "Don't let the next three hours be dictated by what comes into your email." — Ryan Koral  Guest Links Check out Ricky's website  Links Find out more about the Studio Sherpas Mastermind Join the Grow Your Video Business Facebook Group  Follow Ryan Koral on Instagram Follow Grow Your Video Business on Instagram Join us on Onward Summit Join the Studio Sherpas newsletter

Life-First Business Architecture: Reclaiming Freedom and Scaling Profitability with Jason WojoIn a recent episode of The Thoughtful Entrepreneur Podcast, host Josh Elledge sat down with Jason Wojo, the CEO of Lifeonaire, to examine the severe personal and operational costs that emerge when founders allow business pursuits to override their quality of life. Jason, a veteran entrepreneur, host of The Lifeonaire Show, and author of Business for Life: Build a Profitable Business That Gives You Your Time, Freedom, and Life Back, details how high-achieving leaders frequently fall into the trap of constant hustle and founder burnout. This conversation delivers an intentional blueprint for business owners looking to establish non-negotiable personal boundaries, map their core business architecture, and systematically eliminate administrative friction to build a business that serves their life rather than consuming it.The Life-First Paradigm: Engineering Autonomous Operations and Eliminating Founder BurnoutThe fundamental error made by many scaling entrepreneurs is subscribing to the dangerous myth that sacrificing health, personal passions, and family relationships in the present will eventually yield freedom in some distant future. Jason Wojo explains that unmanaged business ambition acts as a seductive trap, drawing founders into endless operational firefighting while destroying their health and personal fulfillment. Real enterprise success requires an absolute reversal of this paradigm, starting with a life-first mindset where non-negotiable personal commitments—such as dedicated family time or creative hobbies—are scheduled first and treated with the same weight as high-stakes client meetings. Setting these boundaries forces leadership to construct operational guardrails, preventing work from expanding endlessly to fill available time and protecting the executive cognitive capacity required for high-level strategy.Transitioning a founder-dependent company into an autonomous asset demands a disciplined, three-part operational audit centered around business architecture mapping. Business owners must begin by creating a comprehensive visual map of every recurring task, workflow, and responsibility across the entire organization to uncover hidden bottlenecks and unnecessary founder involvement. Once these operational workflows are documented, leadership must systematically apply the "Eliminate, Automate, Delegate" framework—pruning non-essential tasks, utilizing modern software engines to automate repetitive processes, and transferring ownership to capable team members. Removing the founder from daily execution not only frees up valuable time but also strengthens the business's underlying infrastructure, making the enterprise far more resilient and attractive to future acquirers.Ultimately, designing a profitable business that grants true freedom is an ongoing architectural practice rather than a one-time event. Surrounding oneself with peer mastermind communities that prioritize work-life harmony helps leaders maintain accountability and resist the societal pressure to pursue growth for ego alone. By regularly auditing business architecture and protecting personal non-negotiables, executives model healthy operational boundaries for their teams, reducing labor turnover and fostering a sustainable corporate culture. When clear life-first priorities, streamlined operational mapping, and automated delegation systems are synthesized into a single business framework, founders successfully shed operational debt, reclaim their personal freedom, and predictably increase enterprise valuation.About Jason WojoJason Wojo is the CEO of Lifeonaire, host of The Lifeonaire Show, an international speaker, and an expert in life-first business design. Drawing from years of hands-on experience building, scaling, and restructuring companies following severe personal burnout, Jason specializes in helping entrepreneurs reclaim their time and build sustainable wealth. He is the author of Business for Life: Build a Profitable Business That Gives You Your Time, Freedom, and Life Back, providing business owners with practical playbooks to align their corporate growth with personal fulfillment.About LifeonaireLifeonaire is an elite coaching, events, and business advisory firm engineered to help entrepreneurs, real estate investors, and executives build highly profitable businesses without sacrificing their personal lives. The organization specializes in delivering life-vision coaching, business architecture mapping, mastermind retreats, and founder-freedom workshops. Through practical execution frameworks and community support, Lifeonaire enables business owners to eliminate operational bottlenecks, establish strong personal boundaries, and maximize enterprise equity.Links Mentioned in This EpisodeLifeonaire Official Website: lifeonaire.comJason Wojo on LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/jasonwojoKey Episode HighlightsThe Siren Song of Unchecked Growth: Recognizing how chasing business growth without boundaries damages health, personal relationships, and long-term fulfillment. The Non-Negotiables Scheduling Rule: Establishing untouchable calendar blocks for family, health, and hobbies before mapping out business obligations.Visual Business Architecture Mapping: Documenting every operational process and daily workflow to pinpoint bottlenecks and unnecessary founder involvement. The Eliminate, Automate, Delegate Blueprint: Systematically removing non-essential tasks, leveraging technology, and empowering team members to handle daily fulfillment.Dismantling the "Grind Now, Enjoy Later" Fallacy: Designing a business that delivers immediate freedom and memory dividends rather than waiting for an uncertain retirement.ConclusionThe conversation with Jason Wojo underscores that building a business that grants true freedom requires an intentional alignment of personal vision and systematic operational design. By standardizing internal corporate governance, establishing firm personal boundaries, and systematically delegating daily execution, business leaders can transform an exhausting job into a highly structured, self-sustaining asset.More from The Thoughtful Entrepreneur

How Gaining Control of My Money Gave Me My Life Back

The City Girl Savings Podcast

I often think back to a time in my life when I was digging through couch cushions looking for enough money to order takeout. Not because I didn't have access to money…but because I had already spent it. Every dollar. Every credit card limit. Every option…and if you had looked at my life from the outside, you probably wouldn't have thought anything was wrong. I was living in Los Angeles. I was in college. I had the clothes, the social life, and the experiences I wanted, but behind the scenes, my finances were completely out of control. In this episode, I'm sharing the story of how taking control of my money didn't just change my finances, it changed my life. We'll talk about the wake-up call that forced me to stop avoiding my reality, the mindset shifts that helped me regain control, and the unexpected ways financial stability created more peace, confidence, and freedom. Because if your money feels like it's running your life right now, I want you to know that it doesn't have to stay that way.   In this episode, we discuss: The spending habits that led me into financial chaos in my early twenties How credit cards allowed me to maintain a lifestyle I couldn't actually afford The wake-up call that forced me to take responsibility for my finances Why gaining control of your money starts with awareness, not restriction How budgeting helped me stop reacting and start making intentional decisions The connection between money management and mental peace Why financial control creates options, flexibility, and confidence The shift from living for today to building for the future Why making more money alone doesn't solve financial problems The first steps you can take to regain control of your finances   This episode is especially helpful if you: Feel like you're making money but never getting ahead Struggle with overspending or impulse spending Feel stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed about your finances Want more control over your money and financial decisions Are working toward financial freedom but aren't sure where to start Feel like your money is running your life instead of supporting it   Why this matters: A lot of people believe financial freedom starts when they make more money, but often, financial freedom starts when they gain control of the money they already have. Because without control, more income simply creates more opportunities to repeat the same patterns. Control isn't about restriction. It's about awareness. It's about understanding what's coming in, what's going out, and making decisions that align with the life you want to build. When you gain control of your money, something bigger starts to happen. You stop living in constant reaction mode. You stop avoiding your accounts. You stop feeling like every unexpected expense is a crisis. Over time, you create something that many women are truly looking for: peace. Not because everything is perfect, but because you know where you stand and where you're going. That's where financial freedom begins.   Timestamps: [02:13] Raya shares how she fully leaned into the "LA lifestyle", even though she didn't have the funds to support it. [05:18] Not paying rent on time led to an almost-eviction. This is the catalyst that forced Raya to change her money habits. [10:07] The biggest shifts that came from proper money management were more personal than financial. For example, Raya gained a level of peace she didn't even know was missing. [13:45] You can make good money and still feel stuck if you don't have control. It's not about how much you make, it's what you do with what you make.   Resources Mentioned: Episode #1: Big City Spender to City Girl Saver: How City Girl Savings Came to Be Request a free money call with Raya City Girl Savings Personal Finance Portfolio Financial Focus Coaching Program   If you've ever felt like your finances are creating more stress than peace, this episode is your reminder that change doesn't happen all at once. It starts with awareness. It starts with one honest look at your numbers. It starts with one intentional decision to stop avoiding and start paying attention. You don't have to wait for a financial breaking point to take control of your money. You can start building that control (and the freedom that comes with it) today. You are not behind—you are building. Consistency compounds. The steady work you're doing now is shaping your next level.

She asks a simple question: am I an awful person, for wanting freedom from the people I love?In this episode, I explore the specific exhaustion that comes from being needed, the feeling of your own middle age being consumed by managing somebody else's later life, and why we can feel grief, resentment, loss and love all at once.Dial Emma is hosted by Emma Reed Turrell, produced by Lauren Brook.---Book my 2027 women's retreat at Bliss House in Crete: https://bliss-house-experience.replit.appBook a place on my Woodland Wellbeing Day Retreat with Alice Crowe: https://www.alicecroweceramics.co.uk/product/woodland-wellbeing-day-retreat-with-emma-reed-turrell-alice-croweSocial media:Emma Reed Turrell @emmareedturrellDial Emma @dialemmapodcastEmail: contact@dial-emma.uk

What happens when you build the business, hit the goals, make the money, and create the success you thought you wanted—but your body, mind, and relationships are quietly falling apart behind the scenes? In this episode of the Growth Now Movement, I sit down with MJ Gordon, a performance strategist and strategic advisor who works with established entrepreneurs, founders, and high-performing leaders who feel stuck, burned out, and at risk of breaking if they continue scaling the way they have been. MJ helps people increase their time, energy, focus, and capacity without telling them to simply work harder, wake up earlier, or "fix their mindset." Because sometimes the problem isn't your discipline. Sometimes the problem is that your nervous system has been stuck in survival mode for so long that your body no longer knows how to recover. MJ shares her own journey through a near-divorce, severe cortisol dysfunction, burnout, and the realization that traditional productivity advice was not enough. She began exploring holistic testing, nervous system recovery, bio-optimization, supplementation, sleep, genetics, neurodiversity, and individualized performance systems. One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation is that many entrepreneurs have normalized fight-or-flight. We become so used to solving problems, chasing goals, putting out fires, and carrying everyone else's stress that we forget what it feels like to actually be regulated. But that stress doesn't just affect your health. It affects your ability to lead. It affects your sales conversations. It affects your creativity. It affects your decision-making. It affects your relationships. And eventually, it can affect the very business you worked so hard to build. MJ explains why symptoms should not be treated one at a time. Brain fog, poor sleep, exhaustion, low motivation, anxiety, lack of focus, irritability, and feeling disconnected can all be part of a larger picture. She shares why deeper testing—including biomarker panels, genetics, neurodiversity assessments, and working with the right specialists—can help entrepreneurs finally understand what is happening underneath the surface. We also talk about AI and how it can become an "external brain" to help reduce mental overload, close open loops, and create more room for presence and deep work. MJ shares how she helps clients use an energy-output algorithm to identify what is draining them, what is fueling them, and where they can create more capacity without sacrificing their health or family. This episode is for the entrepreneur who is doing well on paper but doesn't feel well in real life. You don't need more pressure. You may need a better system. In This Episode, We Discuss: Why entrepreneurs often live in fight-or-flight without realizing it How chronic stress impacts sales, leadership, focus, and creativity Why discipline is not always the answer to burnout MJ's personal story of cortisol dysfunction and recovery How holistic testing can reveal root causes behind exhaustion and brain fog Why biomarker panels, genetics, and neurodiversity assessments matter The connection between sleep, recovery, and sustainable business growth How to use AI as an external brain to reduce mental load Why closing open loops can help you become more present How to build more capacity without working yourself into the ground What success looks like when you stop sacrificing your health for achievement If you are growing a business, leading a team, building a legacy, or simply trying to become the best version of yourself, this conversation will challenge you to look at performance differently. Because the goal isn't just to build a successful business. The goal is to be healthy enough to enjoy it.

Title The Founder Freedom Flywheel: Why Growth Alone Won't Give You Your Life Back Show Notes Most founders don't start a business because they want more stress, more complexity, and more dependency on themselves. They start because they want freedom, impact, financial strength, and a better life for the people they love. But here's the hard truth: a business can be growing and still be unhealthy. A founder can look successful and still feel trapped. A leadership team can be busy and still fail to execute well. In this episode of the TriMetric Roadmap Podcast, Scott and Jeff unpack why founder freedom is not created by fixing one isolated part of the business. Better meetings, cleaner roles, dashboards, and documented processes can all help, but they do not solve the whole problem by themselves. That is why Business Freedom Advisors uses the TriMetric Flywheel to look at a founder-led company through three connected lenses: Business Health — Is the company structurally healthy? Executive Performance — Is the leadership team functioning at the level the business now requires? Life Quality — Is the business producing the life the founder actually wants? Scott and Jeff explain how these three areas work together, and why ignoring any one of them can create hidden costs in the business, the founder's marriage, family, health, energy, or freedom. They also unpack the simple but powerful rhythm of the TriMetric Flywheel: Truth → Alignment → Action First, get honest about what is really happening. Then create alignment with the right people. Then move into focused action through a 13-week execution cadence. This episode is especially relevant for family-focused founders who want to grow without sacrificing the people and priorities that matter most. In This Episode Scott and Jeff discuss: How business growth can hide deeper dysfunction Why founder freedom requires a holistic view The difference between business health, executive performance, and life quality Why executive performance sits between business health and founder freedom How truth, alignment, and action create momentum Why outside diagnostics help reveal blind spots The danger of living and leading from empty How 13-week CSIs turn strategy into focused execution Why the goal is not just a better business, but a better life Key Takeaway Founder freedom does not come from more revenue alone. It comes from building a healthier business, stronger leadership infrastructure, and a life that stays aligned with what matters most. The color green is associated with a clean, healthy environment. When we see a green space, we often think it's good, whether it is a beautiful forest or a neighborhood lawn. All plants provide for wildlife, right? Unfortunately, no. Some landscapes, in particular lawns, provide very little to no habitat. So, what can folks do to change their landscape? How can they rethink or replace their lawn to support wildlife? To explore this topic, we are joined by Emily May and Stephanie Frischie. Emily is part of our pesticide reduction team at Xerces. With a focus on pesticides in agriculture, Emily works with farmers, researchers, conservation professionals, and agencies across the U.S. to reduce pesticide risks to pollinators and other beneficial insects, support the adoption of ecologically sound pest management practices, and expand high-quality habitat in working lands. Stephanie Frischie is an Agronomist and Native Plant Materials Specialist at Xerces. Stephanie brings technical expertise on native plant materials, native plants, and plant-insect interactions to her work across conservation agronomy; plant ecology; ecological restoration; and native seed production, use, policy, research, and quality — all to improve the supply and growth of important plant species for restoration of insect habitat.---Photo: Emily MayThank you for listening! "If I could give you one thing for Fibromyalgia Awareness Month, it wouldn't actually be awareness… it would be your life back." - Tami Stackelhouse Fibromyalgia Awareness Day and Month can feel emotionally complicated. Awareness matters. Better research, education, and medical care matter. But at the same time, constantly explaining yourself, proving your symptoms are real, and revisiting painful experiences can be exhausting for people actually living with fibromyalgia. In this special 2026 Fibromyalgia Awareness Day episode, Tami shares a personal message to the fibro community about why awareness matters, why many people with fibromyalgia are already more than aware, the long gap between research and real-world patient care, why a lack of answers is not the same thing as a lack of options, and why improvement is absolutely possible. Other resources mentioned: Register for the Fibromyalgia Association's 25th annual Fibromyalgia Awareness Day conference at ManageFibromyalgia.org. Kimberly shares the full story of what brought her there: a lifetime of symptoms that seemed disconnected on the surface, from childhood asthma and eczema to OCD, anorexia, debilitating migraines, chronic neck and back pain, severe GI issues, anxiety, unexplained swelling, and deep trauma. What she found through JournalSpeak was not another way to manage her life, but a way to finally meet the feelings she had spent decades suppressing, and to understand how her nervous system had been carrying what she was never allowed to express. This conversation is a “where are they now” that will move you deeply. Kimberly shares how, since that retreat, she has remained chronic symptom-free, no longer relies on the medications she once needed, and has rebuilt an entire life from the inside out. She returned to her music career after believing that part of her life was over, and she is now a full-time songwriter with almost 50 placements in film and television. Even more beautifully, she talks about how this work transformed her as a mother, a wife, a creative person, and a human being who is no longer living in fear. This is a story about chronic pain recovery, nervous system healing, trauma, motherhood, creativity, and what becomes possible when we stop abandoning ourselves and finally decide to live. Omg. Send us Fan MailIn this week's episode 347 of the Fragmented to Whole Podcast, I'm sharing a very real and practical look at time boundaries, what they actually look like in daily life, and how they changed everything for me.Before recovery, I thought my issue was time management. But the truth was much deeper: I didn't have boundaries around my time. That meant my time was constantly available to others, and I was unintentionally abandoning myself. In this episode, I walk you through the specific shifts I made to stop giving my time away and start living more intentionally. Some of the talking points I go over in this episode include:• Why time management isn't the real issue—lack of boundaries is what leaves your time open for others to take.• How small changes like turning off notifications and choosing when to respond helped reclaim control over time and energy.• The shift from reactive living to intentional scheduling through time blocking and focused work.• How training your brain to stay present (instead of constantly switching tasks) creates more productivity and less overwhelm.• Why protecting time for relationships, rest, and leisure is essential—and not something you need to earn. One of the biggest shifts I share in this episode is this:When you stop treating other people's access to you as more important than your relationship with yourself, everything changes. You begin to assign your time on purpose instead of reacting to whatever comes your way. And over time, that creates more clarity, more peace, and a deeper sense of ownership over your life.If you're constantly feeling like there's never enough time, it may not actually be a time problem. It may be that your time isn't protected.Be sure to tune in to all the episodes to receive tons of practical tips on living a more whole life and to hear even more about the points outlined above.Thank you for listening!
