Have you ever wondered why God gave the Israelites specific rules about what they could and couldn't eat? Deuteronomy chapter 14 might seem like just a list of do's and don'ts, but at its heart, it carries a powerful message: God calls His people to be distinct and set apart for Himself. This chapter begins with a bold reminder: “Ye are the children of the Lord your God.” (Deuteronomy 14:1). It's a profound truth—we are chosen, created, and deeply loved by God. With this identity comes a call to live differently than those around us, from the way we grieve to the food we consume, and even in how we manage our resources. While we no longer follow the dietary laws of the Old Testament, the underlying message remains unchanged: God's desire is that our lives clearly reflect our relationship with Him. We are called to holiness, not merely by following rules, but by letting our actions demonstrate our love and commitment to God. Join us in this episode of the Woman at the Well Ministries podcast as Erika Klose explores Deuteronomy chapter 14, centering on verse 2: “For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.” Let's discover together how God's call to holiness and distinct living is just as relevant today as it was thousands of years ago. Have you ever considered just how far the enemy will go to pull you away from God? Deuteronomy chapter 13 is a powerful warning—and a loving call to vigilance. It reminds us that our relationship with God is not only precious, it's worth protecting. From false prophets to familiar voices, anything that draws us away from God is a tool of the enemy. This chapter opens with a warning: deception can come from anywhere, even from those closest to us. But God's message is clear—don't listen. Don't follow. Cling to Him. Walk after Him. Fear Him. Obey His voice. Serve Him. Love Him with all your heart and soul. God's instructions to the Israelites may seem extreme, but they point to a truth we still need today: the devil is working hard to distract and destroy, but God is calling us to walk faithfully and fully with Him. Sometimes, that means removing things from our lives—even things that seem harmless or valuable—if they're pulling our hearts away from Christ. Join us for this episode of the Woman at the Well Ministries podcast as Erika Klose teaches from Deuteronomy chapter 13, focusing on verse 4: “ Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.” Let's talk about guarding our hearts, cleaning our spiritual house, and holding tightly to the One who loves us most. Because obedience isn't just about saying no to sin—it's about saying yes to a relationship with the living God. Did you enjoy this podcast? Post a review and share it! What does it look like when a family answers God's call—together? In this inspiring weekend episode of the Raising Godly Girls Podcast, host Patti Garibay, American Heritage Girls Founder & Executive Director Emeritus, sits down with Kim and Katie Miller of Sight & Sound Theatres, a mother-daughter duo living out a vibrant legacy of multigenerational ministry. From backstage beginnings to center stage moments, their story is a testimony to the power of faithful families saying “yes” to God—again and again. With roots in rural Pennsylvania and a passion for Bible-centered storytelling, the Miller family's journey began with one man's vision and has grown into one of the most impactful theatrical ministries in the world. Kim, daughter of Sight & Sound's founders and now Ministry Coordinator, shares how that vision took shape in the early years and what it's meant to pass the torch to the next generation. Katie, her daughter and Director of Brand Development, offers her own reflections on growing up surrounded by purpose and how she personally embraced her role in the ministry legacy. Together, they unpack the beauty and complexity of serving as a family—what it means to disciple intentionally, live faithfully in both public and private moments, and nurture a daughter's identity in Christ while inviting her into the bigger story God is writing. Whether you're raising girls in the pews, behind the scenes, or at the kitchen table, you'll walk away encouraged by their honesty, wisdom, and generational faithfulness. Have you ever thought about how obedience shapes a life? Deuteronomy chapter 12 shows us that loving God isn't just about emotion - it's about action. It's about choosing God's way, even when everything around us pulls in a different direction. As the Israelites stood on the edge of the Promised Land, God didn't just give them land—He gave them instructions. Tear down the false gods. Clear out the distractions. Worship only where God says to worship. Why? Because obedience leads to blessing, not just for them, but for their children and their children's children. This chapter reminds us that obedience isn't about rules—it's about relationship. It's about living in a way that shows we trust God, we honor God, and we love God enough to follow Him fully. Join us for this episode of the Woman at the Well Ministries podcast as Erika Klose teaches from Deuteronomy chapter 12, focusing on verse 28: “Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the Lord thy God..” Let's explore what it looks like to build a culture of obedience—where our lives, our homes, and our hearts are set apart for Him. Have you ever noticed how one word can change everything? Deuteronomy chapter 11 opens with the word “therefore,” reminding us to look back—to remember what God has already done. Chapter 10 showed us that God is the God of second chances. And now, chapter 11 invites us to respond to that mercy with obedience. In this chapter, we hear God's call to love Him, to teach His Word to the next generation, and to walk in His ways—not out of obligation, but out of a heart that remembers His faithfulness. We're reminded that obedience brings blessing, not because we earn it, but because we walk closely with the One who is good. This is a chapter about choices—daily decisions to follow or to resist, to submit to God or to go our own way. And it's a chapter about legacy: what happens when we build our lives, our homes, and our families around God's Word. Join us for this episode of the Woman at the Well Ministries podcast as Erika Klose teaches from Deuteronomy chapter 11, and focuses on verse 26: “Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse.” Let's explore what it means to live in a place God can bless—and how today, just like the Israelites, we are given a choice. God has made so many promises to us, promises that we can count on because each and every one of them is true. What He has done for others He will surely do for you. Have you ever needed a second chance? Of course you have—we all have. And isn't it incredible to know that we serve a God who offers them freely? Deuteronomy chapter 10 overflows with mercy, reminding us that even in our failure, God doesn't give up on us. He calls us back to Himself—not for punishment, but for restoration. In this chapter, we see the heart of God: a God who generously gives His commandments again, who provides for His people, who calls us to love, obey, and serve Him with all we are. And when we walk in that obedience, we find blessing—not because we earned it, but because He is good. Join us for this episode of the Woman at the Well Ministries podcast as Erika Klose teaches from Deuteronomy chapter 10, focusing on verse 1: “At that time the LORD said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood.” Let's explore together the mercy of a God who writes new beginnings and calls us back into fellowship with Him. When we read in the Bible about Daniel, we see that he knew that God could be reached in time of trouble. He also knew that he had to be faithful and bold in his beliefs. All of Daniel's attributes and beliefs caused him, through faith, to forsake all to live solely in the ways of God. God doesn't bless us because we're perfect—He blesses us because He's merciful. That truth might be hard to accept, but it's also deeply comforting. We stumble. We fall. We forget. Yet, God still loves us. Still blesses us. Still has plans for us. Just like the Israelites, we don't always get it right. They were called “a stiffnecked people”—stubborn, rebellious, and prone to forget God's goodness. But even in the face of their disobedience, God chose to bless them. Why? Because of His promise, His mercy, and His great love. Join us for this episode of the Woman at the Well Ministries podcast as Erika Klose teaches from Deuteronomy chapter 9, focusing on verse 6: “Understand therefore, that the LORD thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou art a stiffnecked people.” Let's reflect together on the amazing truth that God blesses us not because of who we are—but because of who He is. It's easy to believe that everything we have is ours—our job, our home, our money. After all, we worked hard for it, right? But what if I told you… it's not really yours at all? Everything you have—every blessing, every possession, every opportunity—is from God. He gave you the ability to work, the mind to learn, and the open doors to walk through. And just like the Israelites, we need constant reminders that the source of all we have… is Him. In this episode of the Woman at the Well Ministries podcast, Erika Klose takes us into Deuteronomy chapter 8, focusing on verse 18: “But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.” Let's dive into what it really means to live with open hands, a grateful heart, and a deep awareness that it all belongs to God. Sometimes it's hard to wait on God. Sometimes it's hard to obey God. That innate desire for instant gratification, along with a desire to go our own way, runs through us fiercely sometimes. But God, in His infinite wisdom, knows what we can take (and take care of) at a given time. He gives us His wisdom to protect us from pain and sorrow in this world. He promises that He'll never put more upon us than we can bear, that He'll provide for all of our needs, and that His timing is perfect. Hold strong, my friends, to the path that God has set for you. Are you ready? God says things are ready and bids you come. He is telling you that all has been prepared for you to do His work. All you must do is come. He has invited you to share in His work. He is enabling you to do the work He has called you to do. If you continue to read these scriptures, you will see that the people who were given the invitation to come and sit at His table had many excuses. The end result was that they missed the opportunity to meet with Him and thereby were not allowed to share in the supper with their Lord. We all know people who attend church regularly, but the teachings of Jesus and the ways of God's people simply don't exude from them. They play church, if you will, but they don't really allow God to penetrate their hearts or be Lord of their lives. No doubt these people know a lot about God, but they don't have a relationship with Him. Join us in this podcast of Woman at the Well Ministries as Kim takes us on a journey through the scriptures revealing how we can truly know God by having a personal relationship with Him through His Son Jesus. Come join us as we receive the blessings of having a personal relationship with Jesus and being part of the family of God. Why do we find twins so fascinating? And what's it really like to be one? Five sets of twins get real about the ups and downs of moving through the world with someone who looks exactly like you. From dressing alike to developing secret languages, Now or Never producer Jessica Singer and her twin sister Nicole kick the show off by answering all your nosy questions about life as a twin. For first-time parents Kim Miller and Robert Jiang, having toddler twins has been a handful. But Robert's mom Sufan Lu has jumped in to become a lifeline for Kim and Robert, and a delight to her grandchildren. Find out why all parents of multiples need a nai nai (grandmother) like Sufan in their lives.Identical twins Niko and Marko Martinovic grew up pulling off pranks together, switching spots on unsuspecting friends and family. Today they've turned those pranks into a full-time job, as the creators and stars of the "Even Out Twins" on YouTube. But ten years in, Niko and Marko are starting to question how constantly assuming the same identity has affected their individuality. Rory and Camilla Turnbull were born identical twin sisters, but now that Rory has come out as trans they're navigating life as brother and sister for the first time. Mercedes Sheen vividly remembers the time she fainted dramatically in the dining hall at primary school. But her twin sister, Michaela Sheen, insists it was she who fainted dramatically that day. These sorts of disagreements are what Mercedes calls “disputed memories,” and it's a phenomenon that happens mostly with twins. Mercedes and Michaela reunite to tell us how this unique twin experience (and childhood argument) led Mercedes to do a PhD on it.Twin sisters Chantal and Jeannelle Tousignant aren't just best friends. At the age of 35, they've decided they'll also be lifelong roommates. How a low point in each of their lives caused them to move back in together, and led to a surprising realization they share the same life dream -- one they only want to achieve together.
God always has a plan for our lives—and His plan is so much better than anything we could imagine. We may think we have it all figured out, but He is the one who truly knows the way. This is a truth we must hold tightly to and share with those around us. It is a truth that can build our faith, and one we must be prepared to pass on to those God places in our lives. Many strive to have lots of material things—homes, boats, toys, and the like. Others work tirelessly to make a name for themselves, have the most prestigious job, and be revered by society. But the truth remains that only the things we do for Christ will last. All that we have done or ever will do won't bring the lasting happiness that a relationship with Jesus brings. My friend, Scripture brings our life into perspective in Mark 8:36, which says, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Join us in this podcast of Woman at the Well Ministries as Kim takes us on a journey through the Scriptures, revealing the importance of focusing on a personal relationship with Jesus. The world is a dark place. Satan, the prince of darkness, rules it. You have the light of life within you, and it shines through, dispelling the darkness. No matter how dark the room is, even the weakest light is seen. Therefore, it is your Godly duty to let your light shine before men (Matthew 5:16). You must be a strong witness to all who come into your presence. To see you also should be to see the Father. Join us in this program, You Are the Light Bulb, as Kim Miller of Woman at the Well Ministries takes us through Matthew 5:14, which says, “Ye are the light of the world.” Did you enjoy this podcast? The Lord is faithful to provide for all of our needs. Yet so often, we forget who it is that truly provides for us. We get caught up in the routines of life and lose sight of the One who provides. When we forget that God is our provider, it becomes easy to lose trust. But Scripture reminds us again and again that God is near—that He sees us, He knows our journey, and He provides. In Deuteronomy 2:7 we read, “For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.” Join us in today's podcast of Woman at the Well Ministries as Erika Klose takes us through the book of Deuteronomy, chapter 2, to explore how God's provision sustains us—not just in the past, but every day of our lives. God's commandment was not only for us to love one another, but to love as He loves. Now that is a tall order! It would be an impossible request if it weren't for the fact that His blood flows through you and His grace will enable you to love as He loves. What does that kind of love require? It requires faithfulness, mercy, and above all, sacrificial giving. Join us in this program, Following Christ, as Kim Miller of Woman at the Well Ministries takes us through John 13:34, which says, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” Do you want to connect with Kim and Erika? There are so many promises found in God's Word. When we spend time in the Old Testament, we read of the promises God gave to the Israelites. And when we know and believe Acts 10:34, we can be confident that God is no respecter of persons—meaning that the promises made to those we read about in God's Word hold true for us. The same God who literally moved rivers in the Old Testament is the same God who is removing obstacles in our lives today. Join us in this program of Woman at the Well Ministries, as Erika Klose brings us the truths found in the book of Deuteronomy, chapter 1, focusing on Deuteronomy 1:30, which says, “The LORD your God which goeth before you, He shall fight for you, according to all that He did for you in Egypt before your eyes.” Scriptures Mentioned in this Episode Deuteronomy 1 www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Deuteronomy+1&version=KJV Did you enjoy this podcast? So often, we get discouraged and offended by the actions of other people toward us. We find ourselves with hurt feelings because we didn't get what was rightfully ours. Perhaps we were overlooked for a part, a position, a promotion, or an award. These are all things that, when they happen, our flesh not only feels badly about but also wants to retaliate, push back, and even sometimes get even. But when we take the time to look at all that Jesus endured and take His words to heart, we see that these kinds of injustices are nothing more than a ploy of the devil—an obstacle meant to trip us up—and are minor compared to the glory we will receive as we run the race with patience and let our light shine. Join us in this podcast of Woman at the Well Ministries as Kim takes us on a journey through the scriptures, revealing the hope of Jesus to carry us through our trials and make us victorious.
