In this world today it seems that stress is everywhere we turn. Many of us worry every day, sometimes about the same things over and over again. The Bible is plain that we are not to worry. “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” The Bible further states that, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). Written in the pages of His Holy Word are many promises of His providential care and love. These truths are meant to give us peace and to calm our hearts. He really does have everything under control. Join us in this broadcast of Woman at the Well Ministries as Kim discusses the sin of worry. Today, we're turning our hearts to a collection of Scriptures that guide us as we step into a new year, or a new season, with Jesus. These verses remind us to pursue Godliness over worldly goals, to study God's Word faithfully, to trust Him with all our hearts, and to shine as lights in a world that needs His hope. They call us to present ourselves to God for transformation, to remember that we are new creations in Christ, and to be still and know that He is God. Find the complete show notes here: https://watwm.podbean.com/. We are approaching the New Year. Most of us will make resolutions to be better at something or in something than we were in 2025. Many will choose specific areas to improve so that they can become a better version of themselves in the year ahead. Some efforts will fade quickly, others may linger for a while, but few will last through the entire year. Only those commitments that we purpose in our hearts and determine to see through to completion will truly take hold. Today, it is our prayer that each and every one of us will purpose in our hearts, strategize in our souls, and fully commit to being more for Jesus in 2026 than we have ever been before. This won't happen organically, because you can be certain that the devil wants nothing more than to distract and detour you from that goal. Join Kim in this podcast of Woman at the Well Ministries as she takes us on a journey through the scriptures revealing what each of us needs to do to renew our minds and more fully follow Jesus. Have you ever wondered what it looks like for a life to finish well? Deuteronomy chapter 34 gives us one of the most beautiful conclusions to a story in all of Scripture. Moses, the servant of the Lord, reaches the end of his journey, and God Himself brings him to the top of Mount Nebo to see the Promised Land that lay before Israel. Moses had led faithfully, prayed boldly, interceded passionately, and walked closely with God. And at the end of his life, God honored him in a way that belongs only to those who know Him deeply. This chapter reminds us that the true measure of a life is not what we accomplish but how well we walk with God. It shows us the compassion of a God who stays with His people to the very end and the faithfulness of a servant who finished the work God gave him. Join us in this episode of the Woman at the Well Ministries podcast as we explore the life, legacy, and final moments of Moses and focus on Deuteronomy 34:10, which says, “There arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face.” Let's discover together what it means to finish well, to walk closely with God, and to trust Him in every season of life. We explore the inconsistent history of the political slogan "America First." We are joined by environmental sociologist and Black Alliance for Peace Comrade, Kim Miller. We delve into the earliest documentation of America First including its use by the nativist "Know Nothing" party in 1855, tracing its evolution through various eras of American policy. Then we examine how the Monroe Doctrine coincides with sentiments. The discussion also covers its contemporary applications, such as in Secretary of State Marco Rubio's "Americas First Foreign Policy," particularly concerning Venezuela. By defining key concepts like nationalism, non-interventionism, and anti-imperialism, we seek to understand the various meanings—or lack thereof—that have been attached to "America First" throughout American history. Kimberly Dawn Miller is an environmental sociologist who holds a PhD in Global Studies with a concentration in Sociology from Florida International University. Her dissertation, Ecotourism Development in the Nature Isle: Navigating the Politics of Eco-Cultural Sovereignty in Dominica, examines the intersections of ecotourism, post-disaster reconstruction, Indigenous cultural revival, and sustainable land-use politics in the Eastern Caribbean. https://www.patreon.com/c/blackmyths

Have you ever needed a reminder that God doesn't just lead His people — He loves them, protects them, and holds them close? Deuteronomy chapter 33 is Moses' final blessing over the tribes of Israel, spoken just before his death, and it is overflowing with the tender, faithful love of God. It is a chapter filled with hope, promise, identity, and blessing. As Moses reviews the journey of the Israelites, he reminds them that they are a people loved by God, carried by God, and held in His hand. And in our key verse, Deuteronomy 33:3, we read these powerful words: “Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand.” This chapter shows us a God who goes before His people, fights for them, shelters them, and promises them a future. And just as He blessed the tribes of Israel, He continues to bless, guide, and guard His people today. Join us as we walk through this chapter and discover what it means to be people who are loved, chosen, and held securely in the hands of our faithful God. Did you enjoy this podcast? When we think of Jesus being introduced to the world as a babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, we may not immediately see the strength, majesty, and incredibleness that unfolds with the birth of Jesus. Jesus may have come as a babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, but He was fully man and fully God. He was God's only Son, and He was sent with a mission, a mission to seek and to save the lost. His birth was nothing short of extraordinary, and the world will never be the same because He came. Join us in this podcast of Woman at the Well Ministries as Kim takes us on a journey through the scriptures, revealing the gifts the birth of Jesus brings. Have you ever needed a reminder of just how faithful God has been in your life? Deuteronomy chapter 32 is exactly that. It is a song of remembrance, a call to worship, and a warning wrapped into one powerful chapter. Known as The Song of Moses, this passage was given so the Israelites would rehearse it, remember it, and carry it with them from generation to generation. In this chapter, Moses paints an incredible picture of who God is - our Rock, perfect in His work, just in all His ways, and faithful even when we are not. He calls the people to look back and reflect on God's goodness, His deliverance, His provision, and His protection. But he also warns them about the dangers of forgetting God, of complacency, and of turning to other gods. Deuteronomy 32 teaches us that remembering God fuels our worship, strengthens our obedience, and anchors our hearts in truth. It reminds us that God alone gives life, heals, restores, and rescues. And it ends with a sober call, that God's Word is not a small thing. It is our life. Join us for this episode of the Woman at the Well Ministries podcast as we look at Deuteronomy chapter 32 and focus on verse 4: “He is the Rock, his work is perfect; for all his ways are judgment. A God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.” Let's discover together what it means to serve a God who is unchanging, unwavering, and always worthy of our trust. Deuteronomy chapter 31 meets us right in the middle of those moments. As Moses prepares to leave the people he has shepherded for forty years, he speaks words that every believer needs to hear: “Be strong and of a good courage… for the Lord thy God goes with you.” This chapter is a reminder that even when seasons shift, God remains faithful. Moses passes leadership to Joshua, but the real Leader -the Lord Himself - never changes. The people of God are called to courage, not because life is easy, but because God is present. In this episode of Woman at the Well Ministries, Erika Klose teaches from Deuteronomy chapter 31 and focuses on verse 6, a verse filled with strength, comfort, and promise: “He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” Join us as we learn how to face life's transitions with confidence, how to anchor our hearts in the Word of God, and how to trust the Lord who goes before us, walks beside us, and keeps His promises to the very end. The world will tell you to get all you can and store it for a rainy day. Every day people push you to work harder and harder. The ways of the world will lead you to believe that you have to look out for yourself and no one else. With each spent effort you begin to feel the pride of the world and start to lose sight of the blessings of God. Before you know it, you have overlooked God's hand in your life and have stolen His glory and placed it upon yourself as you claim to be in control of all that is in your life. As you take control of your life you quickly lose sight of the importance of others. Have you ever felt like hearing from God was hard — like His Word was distant or His will was out of reach? Deuteronomy chapter 30 reminds us that God's Word isn't far away. It isn't hidden in heaven or buried deep in mystery. It's near — in our mouths and in our hearts — so that we can know it, live it, and walk in it every single day. In this chapter, Moses calls the people of Israel to return to God with all their hearts. He reminds them that even after failure and exile, God's mercy is greater than their mistakes. When they turn back to Him, He promises restoration, renewal, and blessing. This chapter also reminds us that obedience isn't complicated. God has already given us everything we need to follow Him — His Word, His Spirit, and His love. The question is not how far away God is, but whether our hearts are willing to listen. Join us for this episode of the Woman at the Well Ministries podcast as Erika Klose walks through Deuteronomy chapter 30 to remember the nearness of God — and what it means to live every day with His Word written on our hearts. Have you ever wondered why God doesn't show us everything at once? Deuteronomy chapter 29 reminds us that while some things remain hidden in the heart of God, He has revealed more than enough for us to trust, obey, and live faithfully. This chapter is all about covenant — a covenant renewed, remembered, and reaffirmed. The Israelites were standing on the edge of the Promised Land, and Moses called them to renew their promise to walk in obedience and to keep God at the center of their hearts. Every man, woman, and child was invited to recommit to the Lord, to turn away from idols, and to live as a people set apart. Deuteronomy 29:29, says, “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.” This verse calls us to a simple but powerful truth — we don't have to understand everything to obey completely. God has revealed what we need to know in His Word, and the rest we can safely leave in His hands. Join us for this episode of Woman at the Well Ministries as Erika Klose teaches from Deuteronomy chapter 29, reminding us that true faith is built on trust, that obedience flows from love, and that God's revealed truth is always enough. The phrase “Be Prepared “ is the familiar motto of the Boy Scouts of America, but takes on new meaning when eternity is considered. Jesus said, “I go to prepare a place for you.” If Jesus prepared, how much more do we need to prepare? Have you ever experienced the overwhelming goodness of God when you simply chose to obey Him? Deuteronomy chapter 28 paints one of the most vivid pictures in all of Scripture of what it means to live under the blessing of obedience. As the Israelites prepared to enter the Promised Land, God gave them this promise: “And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God… all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee.” — Deuteronomy 28:1–2 In this chapter, Moses reminds God's people that their obedience would bring blessings so abundant that they would overflow into every part of life — blessings in their homes, in their work, in their families, and in their future. But he also warns that disobedience would bring sorrow, loss, and despair. For those of us living on this side of the cross, the message is the same: obedience brings blessing. Not because we earn God's love, but because walking in His ways keeps us close to His heart. Join us for this episode of Woman at the Well Ministries as Erika Klose teaches from Deuteronomy chapter 28 and explores how listening to the Lord and walking in obedience still leads to joy, peace, and overflowing blessing today. Have you ever thought about what it really means to live out your faith — not just to believe in your heart, but to let your obedience show to the world around you? In Deuteronomy chapter 27, Moses reminds the Israelites that faith was never meant to be hidden. As they prepared to enter the Promised Land, God called them to demonstrate their faith in visible ways — to write His law on stones, to build an altar of worship, and to proclaim their obedience for all to see. This chapter is about faith that acts, obedience that speaks, and hearts that are devoted to God in both word and deed. In a world that often values comfort over conviction, Deuteronomy 27 calls us back to a faith that is lived out loud — a faith that obeys. Join us in this episode of Woman at the Well Ministries as Erika Klose walks through Deuteronomy chapter 27. Let's learn together how obedience flows from faith and how a life of visible devotion gives glory to God. Did you enjoy this podcast? Post a review and share it! There are many times in our lives that we feel as if our backs are against the wall or that there seems to be no escaping the problems that are set before us. Today, as we walk through Exodus chapter 14, we are going to see how Moses, under the direction of the Lord, showed the Israelites that when they feel squeezed and their backs are against the wall and everything around them seems to be crumbling, they needed to trust in the Lord because God will always make a way of escape. The Bible is full of words of encouragement, but perhaps the most precious, but perhaps the most precious are the words of Jesus which command us not to let our hearts be troubled. He can command this, because he can deliver us to this state of mind. If we place out faith in Him, He will keep us in perfect peace. Join us in this broadcast of Woman at the Well Ministries as Kim searches the scriptures revealing God's plan for a peaceful heart. Do you want to connect with Kim and Erika?
