Pacific Asset Management is an intriguing study in developing an investment manager in today's world. A business born from the Beckwith family's long tradition of creating successful asset management firm, less than 10 years from inception it now manages over $20 billion. Matt discusses the problems which they felt the investment industry wasn't solving. He describes how the business was built without legacy systems, or legacy cost structures, and how they combine both multi-asset solutions and high conviction managers, supported by significant investments in technology. He describes the steps to build “a home not a platform”, how they identify mangers and styles using the lens of provenance, less-loved strategies and scalability. He explains how they were able to develop such a foothold in the over-supplied multi asset space. Finally, he discusses the trends within asset management, from a consolidation of asset owners, to why margin erosion need not be ubiquitous, and to why the proliferation of model portfolios may make marginal capital move quicker than ever before. But a short way into his journey, a reckless decision to steal a car landed him in police custody. Afraid of getting caught with the two tabs of acid in his pocket, Steve popped them into his mouth. It was one of the worst decisions of his life.Mistaking his drug trip for a mental breakdown, the authorities placed him in Ontario's notorious Oak Ridge mental health facility. While there, not only did he find himself shoulder-to-shoulder with people like notorious child killer Peter Woodcock and mass murderers Matt Lamb and Victor Hoffman, he also fell into the hands of someone worse: Dr. Elliot T. Steven also experienced numerous other forms of abuse and torture.Following his release, Steve continued to suffer the aftereffects of his Oak Ridge experience. For several years, he found himself in and out of prison—and back to Oak Ridge—before he was finally able to establish himself as a successful entrepreneur.Once he began investigating what happened to him during his youth, not even Steve was prepared for what he would discover about Barker, Oak Ridge, and one of the darkest periods in Canada's treatment of mental health patients. What You Need to Know is that today is one of the great journalistic coups in the last five years. On Friday, I released a video about the “gallows gang,” the group of 5 people who set up the gallows in front of the U.S. Capitol the morning of January 6, 2021. The video shows a certain ‘Mr. Coffee,' a sharply dressed member of the group who beelined to a coffee shop, right across from the FBI's local headquarters. Who are Mr. Coffee and the rest of this gang, and what purpose did they have in staging these gallows in front of the Capitol building? Sgt. Betsy Smith (Ret.) is a retired law enforcement officer and current spokeswoman for the National Police Association. Sgt. Smith and Ed discuss how, since Ferguson in 2014, there has been an increasing demonization of law enforcement and lack of respect for police officers, which has resulted in a lowering of morale for police and an influx in crime. They also talk about gun control, such as Maryland's new concealed carry laws, and the consequences that it has on the safety of Americans. Matt Lamb, Associate Editor at College Fix, joins Ed to discuss John Parker from Syracuse University. John Parker is a student reporter for the College Fix and an outspoken conservative. His coverage and his opinions got him into hot water with the student government, after he criticized ‘overt sexualization' going on on campus, arguing that intimacy should be made intimate again, rather than public displays of sexuality such as drag shows. His criticism led him to be denied a position in the student government, even though he was the only applicant. Wrap Up: It's time to start celebrating the sesquicentennial of America! 250 years! This has culminated in a weekly podcast on education, Readin', Writin', and Reason, which has allowed wonderful relationships to develop between Giordano, educators, and parents throughout the country who are speaking out against overbearing school boards. First, Dom welcomes Matt Lamb, associate editor at the College Fix, back on to hear what he's been writing about on his great website. First, Lamb tells us about Brown University's decision to honor noted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal, with the University's John Hay Library holding a weekend long symposium titled ‘Voices of Mass Incarceration' featuring writings and recorded audio of the convict. Then, Lamb tells Giordano about a controversy unfolding on Drexel's campus, with students being forced to share bathrooms with the opposite sex even after opting out of the program.  Then, Dom welcomes Kevin Boden, Director of Home School Legal Defense Association International, onto the show to discuss a situation playing out involving a German family. In Germany, Boden tells us, homeschooling is illegal. A family he's working with has applied for asylum in the United States in effort to homeschool their children, telling the struggles they've faced in trying to become citizens. Dom uses this to exploit the questionable decisions made by those choosing who receives asylum, presenting the case of a family doing the right thing and facing trouble while the Biden administration continues their relaxed border policies.

Canadian MKULTRA Survivor EXCLUSIVE When Steve Smith set out to hitchhike from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario to Canada's west coast back in 1968, he was just an eighteen-year-old hippie with an appetite for adventure. But a short way into his journey, a reckless decision to steal a car landed him in police custody. Afraid of getting caught with the two tabs of acid in his pocket, Steve popped them into his mouth. It was one of the worst decisions of his life. Mistaking his drug trip for a mental breakdown, the authorities placed him in Ontario's notorious Oak Ridge mental health facility. While there, not only did he find himself shoulder-to-shoulder with people like notorious child killer Peter Woodcock and mass murderers Matt Lamb and Victor Hoffman, he also fell into the hands of someone worse: Dr. Elliot T. Barker.Over the next eight months, Barker subjected Steve and the other patients to a battery of unorthodox experiments involving LSD, scopolamine, methamphetamines, and other drugs. Steven also experienced numerous other forms of abuse and torture. Following his release, Steve continued to suffer the aftereffects of his Oak Ridge experience. For several years, he found himself in and out of prison—and back to Oak Ridge—before he was finally able to establish himself as a successful entrepreneur. Once he began investigating what happened to him during his youth, not even Steve was prepared for what he would discover about Barker, Oak Ridge, and one of the darkest periods in Canada's treatment of mental health patients. The question remains: Was Oak Ridge and Dr. Barker trying to cure psychopaths or trying to create and direct them? This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/1198501/advertisement

Venerable Fulton J. Sheen continues inspiring pro-life and pro-family leaders in the United States, Canada, and across the world as the Culture of Life confronts the radical abortion and progressive LGBT lobbies intent on establishing the New World Order. Fortunately, Bishop Fulton J. Sheen left pro-lifers a powerful gift, the Spiritual Adoption Prayer for Unborn Babies. As pro-life heroes raise their voices to God for the unborn, a new Eucharistic Miracle may have occurred in the Archdiocese of Hartford. Fr. Joseph Crowley, pastor of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish and St. Thomas Church in Thomaston, Connecticut, has reported that the Eucharist miraculously replicated during the Holy Mass. What can this possible Eucharistic Miracle mean? Then, notable conservative talk show hosts Dennis Prager — founder of PragerU — and the Daily Wire's Jordan Peterson recently shocked the conservative world by seeming to justify occassional uses of pornography. Adult films have no place in the Culture of Life, no conservative host should justify pornography to any degree. Now, LifeSite journalist Matt Lamb unpacks all of this and more with LifeSite Editor-in-Chief, John-Henry Westen on this episode of The John-Henry Westen Show.HELP US FIGHT THE CENSORSHIP OF BIG TECH: https://give.lifesitenews.com/?utm_source=acastSHOP ALL YOUR FUN AND FAVORITE LIFESITE MERCH!https://shop.lifesitenews.com/Follow us on social media: LifeSite: https://linktr.ee/lifesitenewsJohn-Henry Westen: https://linktr.ee/jhwesten Hosted on Acast.
