(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Pakistani Christian 13-year-old girl still captive to Muslim man On July 7, the European Parliament condemned Pakistan for its violation of human rights, citing a 13-year-old Christian Pakistani girl who is still fighting for her freedom from the 30-year-old Muslim man who abducted her, reports International Christian Concern. Maria Shahbaz was kidnapped in July 2025 by Shehryar Ahmad, who forced her to convert to Islam and married her against her will. Alliance Defending Freedom came alongside her parents in their fight to regain custody of their child in Pakistan's Federal Constitutional Court in February. Pakistani law states that a minor cannot legally consent to religious conversion or marriage, but shockingly the court ruled in favor of Ahmad when he presented a forged marriage certificate.  In Matthew 18:6, Jesus said, “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in Me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” Shahbaz's parents are not giving up. They are still appealing their daughter's case in court, hoping that justice will swiftly come.  According to Open Doors, Pakistan is the eighth worst country worldwide for the persecution of Christians. Send a polite, 3-sentence letter to Rizwan Sheikh, the Pakistan Ambassador to America, asking that he intervene.  The address is 3517 International Court NW, Washington, DC 20008. Two U.S. soldiers killed in Iranian attack on military base Two American soldiers were killed on July 17th in an Iranian attack on a U.S. military base in Jordan, reports the Western Journal. In a post on X, U.S. Central Command added, “Four American service members were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals. They have since been discharged.” Plus, one soldier is missing. Iran's attacks came after the U.S. launched its seventh consecutive night of air strikes on Iran. Iran makes chilling death threats against President Trump Iranian state media has published a shocking video entitled “Where to kill Trump?”, claiming to know the U.S. leader's motorcade route and the vulnerabilities within his security, reports The Express. The highly concerning footage claimed to reveal “information on the whereabouts of the terrorist president of America” while promising that “access to Trump is possible in these places.” It also alleges to give details about the motorcade that protects the U.S. president, which typically consists of 40 to 50 vehicles. It comes after repeated death threats have been made by Iran following the U.S. assassination of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.  President Trump's primetime speech on election integrity Last Thursday night, President Donald Trump addressed election security in a nationwide primetime address from the White House, pointing to ways American political leftists and China have compromised our elections, reports The Epoch Times. TRUMP: “You can't have a great country without free and fair elections. All we want is honesty in our elections. Great damage has been done to our country. Our elections were left vulnerable to being rigged and stolen, and the trust of the American people was lost. This cannot be allowed to continue. “Every American -- whether you're a Republican, Democrat, Independent, or otherwise -- should be able to agree that we deserve the most secure, honest, and fair election system anywhere in the world.” President Trump explained that China started compromising our elections in 2020. TRUMP: “Over a period of years, starting during the 2020 election cycle, the People's Republic of China carried out what is believed to be the largest compromise of election data in history, resulting in China's illicit acquisition of 220 million U.S. voter files. That information includes names, addresses, phone numbers, political party preferences, and other sensitive data that would be needed to register to vote. “This data loss presents an unprecedented election security nightmare. The intelligence even shows that China assigned a data exploitation unit specifically to this new project.” And finally, President Trump vowed action to hold people accountable. TRUMP: “The documents we will release, starting tonight, have been gathered by the White House Government Transparency Task Force, a great group of people, supported by our top intelligence agency chiefs, who have all personally reviewed the findings we are presenting this evening and fully confirmed their authenticity. “You can see these documents for yourself at whitehouse.gov. That's whitehouse.gov. Go check it out. Our purpose in disclosing this information is not to weaken confidence in election, but to earn that confidence by confronting vulnerabilities and correcting them very, very quickly, and that's what we're doing.” Homeland Security Secretary vows to prosecute illegal voters In related news, during a Friday press briefing, Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin promised to hunt down and prosecute illegal voters in the U.S., noting that 250,000 non-citizens are illegally registered to vote in just four states, reports The Christian Post. Speaking in the wake of President Donald Trump's 25-minute primetime address about election security on July 16th, Mullin outlined an aggressive plan to tighten voter roll integrity, harden election infrastructure, and hold election officials accountable for alleged failures. Senator Marsha Blackburn: No more birth tourism Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee has reintroduced legislation aimed at ending so-called “birth tourism” following the Supreme Court's recent 6-3 ruling in Trump v. Barbara. It held that children born in the United States to illegal aliens and foreign tourists remain entitled to birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment, reports Big League Politics. She said, “Congress must step up to the plate to protect the integrity of American citizenship.” The Ban Birth Tourism Act is co-sponsored by GOP Senators Ted Budd of North Carolina, John Cornyn of Texas, Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, Tim Sheehy of Montana, Jim Banks of Indiana, and Rick Scott of Florida. The legislation would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to explicitly prohibit foreign nationals from obtaining temporary visas for the purpose of giving birth in the United States. It would also classify birth tourism as a deportable offense, allowing immigration authorities to remove foreign nationals who enter the country for that purpose. Samaritan's Purse deployed disaster relief unit for Texas flood victims On July 17th, churches in the Texas Hill Country opened their doors as flood displacement shelters, taking in families whose homes and recreational vehicles had been swept away by rapidly rising rivers that killed at least two people, reports The Christian Post. Recently more than 30 inches of rain fell over several days, causing the Leona River and Guadalupe River to overflow. Floodwaters surged through the streets, destroying homes, and stranding people and vehicles. The Christian relief group Samaritan's Purse said it was deploying a disaster relief unit to the Hill Country, with staff and volunteer teams set to work in Uvalde County. The group said it was basing operations out of Uvalde Methodist Church, with volunteers beginning on Sunday to help residents remove waterlogged belongings and clear mud from their homes. Aughie and Nia discuss the opinions in Noes v Al Otro Lado, Mullin v Doe, and Cisco Systems v Doe. The first case allows the federal government to stop immigrants before arriving on American soil to ask for asylum. The second case allows the government to cancel Temporary Protection Status visas. The third case does not allow Cisco to be sued because the Chinese government used its software to locate and torture Chinese dissidents.

Last week, the Supreme Court ruled on several issues related to immigration policy. While the court narrowly preserved birthright citizenship, it issued other rulings that will put an untold number of people in danger. One ruling, Mullin v Al Otro Lado, upheld the federal government's policy of turning back asylum seekers before they can reach the US-Mexico border—a policy also known as “metering”—hollowing out the right to asylum enshrined in both domestic and international law. In her dissent, Justice Sonia Sotomayor referenced the St. Louis, the ship of Jewish refugees from Nazi Germany turned away from the US, whose passengers were mostly killed in the Holocaust: “Congress passed the Refugee Act in 1980 because it did not want this country to repeat the mistakes of its past. Yet if the refugees on the M. S. St. Louis were to walk up to a port of entry on our southern border today, the majority's interpretation would allow immigration officers to refuse even to consider their asylum applications by physically blocking them from stepping foot onto US soil,” she said.In another ruling, Mullin v Doe, the Supreme Court granted the president the power to end the Temporary Protected Status program, or TPS, which has allowed vetted and eligible immigrants to live and work legally in the US if they cannot return safely to their countries. Justice Samuel Alito, in his majority opinion, said courts do not have a say in what the president and the Department of Homeland Security decide; the president can end TPS for Haitians and Syrians without judicial review. He also rejected a separate claim brought by Haitians that the move to deport them was based in racial prejudice. TPS has been in effect since 1990. There are 350,000 Haitians who have been in the US legally under TPS, and whose lives have now been thrown into chaos.In our spring issue, we published a prescient piece by immigration reporter Tanvi Misra about the death of asylum, and the ways that its decline is a dire portent for democracy itself. Asylum, Misra reminds us, is a “place-based right” designed to prioritize human life over national borders: As soon as an endangered person steps foot onto a country's soil, they “are entitled to that body's protection,” regardless of whether they crossed with permission. This is exactly the principle that has been undermined with this recent ruling, which prevents people from arriving and making an application. As this ruling suggests, for as long as asylum has existed in the US, so have efforts to weaken it. It has been issued selectively and on racial grounds—much more easily been granted to German-speaking Protestants than to Jews escaping the Holocaust; readily offered to Cubans fleeing Castro but not to Haitians fleeing the US-supported Duvalier dictatorship.Misra's essay tells us that this tactic of denying landfall to migrants as a way of denying them asylum has gone into overdrive in the past decades as border agents try to intercept asylum seekers earlier and earlier in their journeys. In the process, the US border has, Misra says, “not just hardened, but expanded”—into Mexico, Guatemala, Panama, and beyond. DOCKET ALERTS: The administration says it's going to prosecute anyone who touches the algae-ridden Reflecting Pool at the Lincoln Memorial. So far, that seems to be more bluster than reality.   Sadly, what isn't bluster is that Judges Reed O'Connor and Mark Pittman in Texas are handing down extraordinarily long punitive sentences for Antifa protestors to "send a message" not to criticize the government.   DOOFUS OF THE DAY: Postmaster General David Steiner, who tried to pass off voter suppression efforts to not distribute ballots as just "best practices" for the USPS. (Gabriel Pietrorazio) An Arizona tribe along the Southern border has filed a lawsuit in federal court against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). KJZZ's Gabriel Pietrorazio has details. The Tohono O'odham Nation has submitted an injunction to halt the Trump administration from looking to build a wall along its 62-mile boundary with Mexico. According to the complaint, the administration plans to solicit contracts for construction on sovereign lands – without the tribe's consent. Tohono O'odham Chairman Verlon Jose in a social media message. “We would prefer not to file this lawsuit, and instead use these resources for our people. And it is our hope DHS will reconsider their plans once they see the strength of our arguments, however, at this point we have been left with no other choice.” Carla Johnson is Tohono O'odham Vice Chairwoman. “The wall is a wasteful political gimmick. It will separate our families, desecrate our sacred sites and waters and harm our natural environment, while doing nothing to actually make us safer.” In response to the legal filings, DHS cites Mullin's Cherokee citizenship and commitment to tribal sovereignty, telling KJZZ the agency “values its relationship with the Tohono O'odham Nation and remains focused on open communication and minimizing impacts.” Sheep graze in the Coppermine Community near Page, Ariz. (Courtesy Loren Thomas) A Navajo Nation community near Page voted Sunday to oppose a controversial copper mine proposal, as KNAU's Chris Clements reports. The Coppermine Chapter voted 45-12 to adopt a resolution opposing Essential Minerals' exploration of a possible copper mine. The resolution also rescinded a policy put forward by the chapter back in 2005 that supported exploration of a separate copper mine. The resolution adopted on Sunday says back in 2005, the company looking into mining failed to fulfill its commitments. It adds that no mining company – like Essential Minerals – can use the 2005 policy to justify exploring a copper mine now. Tribal members say they are worried a copper mine would cause health and environmental issues in the community. Representatives of Essential Minerals previously told KNAU they want to build trust about the project, which they say is just being explored right now. (Photo: MaryCait Dolan / KYUK) The day after the season's first drift gillnet fishing opener, salmon remained top of mind for fishers of the Kuskokwim River, as KYUK's Samantha Watson reports. At Riverview Park in Bethel, Alaska, community members gathered and filled plates of dried whitefish and grilled, fresh-caught fillets of king salmon. The second annual Return of the Salmon event was put on by Mother Kuskokwim Tribal Coalition, a grassroots organization opposing the proposed Donlin gold mine. Supporters of the mine point to the job prospects it would bring to locals in the region. Calista Corporation, the regional Native corporation who owns the subsurface rights to the proposed mine site, says that responsible development and subsistence can coexist. Others, like Mother Kuskokwim, say it is too risky. They argue that potential contamination from the mine could pose dire environmental impacts, namely for the region's salmon populations. The celebration is, at its core, an anti-Donlin demonstration, but it feels like a fish camp cookout. Organizer Gloria Simeon says on the Kuskokwim, salmon is a mechanism for something bigger. “Fish camp is not an activity. Fish camp is the time, the single most important time of families coming together with one purpose, and that’s to get prepared for the winter, catch our salmon, take care of it, to have it for the winter, and it’s not just only about that, it’s about sharing your genealogy, your oral traditions, our cultural values, who we are as a people, our history.” She talks about how it is sustained her family, and people like her granddaughter, Ashlynn Simeon, who is the Deputy Director of Mother Kuskokwim organization. She says the moments on display in a community event like this — children playing, babies having their first bites of fresh salmon of the season — that is what the Mother Kuskokwim advocates are trying to protect.
