The Asheville Police Department hasn't had a homegrown chief in 20 years. Local native Mike Lamb hopes that soon changes. Lamb grew up in Asheville and has been on the force since 1997. In December, city officials named him the interim chief with the sudden retirement of Chief David Zack. This is the second half of my conversation with Interim Chief Lamb. Part One posted January 10. Today, we bore into the often-stated statistic that Asheville Police is down 40 percent of its budgeted officers. We talk about elements of the job Lamb says don't get the attention they should. I ask him about how he and his officers can change a perception many hold, that police come into situations with an adversarial mindset and often use unnecessary force. And Chief Lamb details his own traumatic experience on the job and how he worked through it.Get five news headlines from around Asheville in your morning inbox. No ads, no spam—simple as that. Mike Lamb grew up in Asheville and joined the city's police department in 1998. Over the years, he worked under six different chiefs until last month, when he was named the interim chief with the sudden and surprise retirement of David Zack.Today, I begin a two-part conversation with Interim Chief Mike Lamb. He tells us about his path to law enforcement and what he believes he brings to leadership atop the Asheville Police Department. We also talk about how a carousel of leadership has affected the department, how Chief Lamb views his department's partnership with Buncombe County Sherriffs and the other partnerships he believes is critical to policing a community marked with visible levels of addiction and homelessness.Get five news headlines from around Asheville in your morning inbox. Grizzly On The Hunt - Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Cryptids, Paranormal, Aliens, UFO's and More!
This Friday 06-09-23 at 6:00PM EST Time! The case goes in front of the board of people with abilities. Psychics Mediums and more. Each person reveals their findings on the case. Missing Person Mike Lamb. https://paranormalhub.com/grizzly-hunt https://grizzly.spiritsale.com By Alyssa Williams Published: May. 7, 2023 at 6:23 PM EDT WYMT Mountain News Weekend Edition newscast at 6 p.m. on Sunday. HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - The family of Harlan County native Mike Lamb is continuing to search for answers following his disappearance last year. It was March of 2022 when Lamb, 53, vanished from the Evarts community. Once Lamb was declared missing, his family hit the ground running with the search for him. "We went actually just everywhere. We went to the different places that we thought he could have been," said Lamb's cousin, Janice Brewer. "We went searching the river banks to make sure he hadn't fell off the side of the road or anything. We searched the ditches. We searched everywhere." More than one year later, the search for answers continues. "We urge everybody that if you hear anything at all, no matter how crazy it sounds, to tell one of us or the sheriff's office so we can check into it" said Lamb's son, Aaron Lamb. "It might sound off the wall and crazy, but it could have some truth to it, and that one little piece of information could very well be what leads us to finding my dad." Although the family said this search has been difficult, they continue to hold hope that justice will be served for Lamb. "Whatever happened, he didn't deserve it," said Aaron Lamb. "We know for sure he doesn't deserve to be laying up on the mountain somewhere or something. He deserves to be brought home." The ability of psychics to solve cases is a topic of much debate and skepticism. While some individuals claim to have psychic abilities and believe they can help solve crimes or provide insights into unresolved cases, there is no scientific evidence to support the existence of psychic powers. Law enforcement agencies generally rely on more conventional investigative methods, such as gathering evidence, conducting interviews, and employing forensic techniques, to solve cases. These methods are based on empirical data and have proven to be more reliable and effective in identifying suspects and solving crimes. While some psychics may claim to have assisted in solving cases, it is essential to approach such claims with skepticism. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and until verifiable and repeatable evidence is provided to support the effectiveness of psychic abilities in solving crimes, it is generally not considered a credible or reliable approach in law enforcement investigations. But our board brings forth info as they see it. Kentucky has had its share of cold cases, unsolved criminal investigations that have remained open for an extended period of time. Here are a few examples of notable cold cases in Kentucky: #mikelamb #where #walkededaway #kentucky #wymt #Summerwells #murder #coldcase #grizzlyonthehunt #unsolved #police #fbi #forensics #water #shallowgrave #missing #missingperson #kidnapoed #raped #stabbed #tied #body #buried localpolice #news #media #detectives #hotline #tips #sheriffs #deputy #deputies #drugs #narcotics #sex #dumpster #hotel #needle #heroin #prostitution #Xanax #pills #lost @TrueCrime @CrimeNews @CriminalJustice @kentucky @grizzlyonthehunt @HomicideCases @MurderMystery @CrimeScenelnvestigation @ForensicScience @ColdCase @CrimeDocumentary @SerialKiller @JusticeSystem @Criminology @CrimePrevention @LawEnforcement @VictimAdvocacy @CriminalProfiling @PrisonSystem @CrimeStatistics @GangViolence @CrimeAnalysis https://paranormalhub.com/grizzly-hunt https://grizzly.spiritsale.com --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/grizzly-onthehunt/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/grizzly-onthehunt/support

(WYMT) - The family of Harlan County native Mike Lamb is continuing to search for answers following his disappearance last year. It was March of 2022 when Lamb, 53, vanished from the Evarts community. Lamb's family said he walked outside the home he shared with his brother to go to his neighbor's house, but he never made it there. I mean, he left his phone and his wallet and everything like that, and my brother that is disabled, he also took care of, and he had left him there so I know he hadn't planned on being gone for long,” said Lamb's sister, Chasity Lamb. Once Lamb was declared missing, his family hit the ground running with the search for him. ”We went actually just everywhere. We went to the different places that we thought he could have been,” said Lamb's cousin, Janice Brewer. “We went searching the river banks to make sure he hadn't fell off the side of the road or anything. He deserves to be brought home.” In a statement to WYMT, Harlan County Sheriff Chris Brewer said his department's efforts in the search for Lamb are also continuing. The Mike Lamb case remains open as a missing persons case with foul play involved. There isn't a lot we can comment on due to the case remaining active but the Harlan County Sheriff's Office is still following any and all leads. I spoke with Mr. Lambs family not long after I was sworn in as Sheriff and informed them that we would continue on with the investigation and do everything in our power to bring justice and closure to the family. We are currently following new leads but also revisiting old leads to ensure we are doing everything possible to find Mr. Lamb and the ones responsible for his disappearance. In the meantime, Mr. Lamb's family remains in my prayers because I could not imagine the nightmare they are living. I ask anyone that if you have any information to please do the right thing and contact the Harlan County Sheriff's Office. Chris Brewer, Harlan County Sheriff Lamb's family said they are grateful for Sheriff Brewer's dedication to finding Lamb. They added they plan to host a large search party in the future. #mikelamb #where #walkededaway #kentucky #wymt #Summerwells #murder #coldcase #grizzlyonthehunt #unsolved #police #fbi #forensics #water #shallowgrave #missing #missingperson #kidnapoed #raped #stabbed #tied #body #buried localpolice #news #media #detectives #hotline #tips #sheriffs #deputy#deputies #drugs #narcotics #sex #dumpster #hotel #needle #heroin #prostitution #Xanax #pills #lost @TrueCrime @CrimeNews @CriminalJustice @kentucky @grizzlyonthehunt @HomicideCases @MurderMystery @CrimeSceneInvestigation @ForensicScience @ColdCase @CrimeDocumentary @SerialKiller @JusticeSystem @Criminology @CrimePrevention @LawEnforcement @VictimAdvocacy @CriminalProfiling @PrisonSystem @CrimeStatistics @GangViolence @CrimeAnalysis --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/grizzly-onthehunt/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/grizzly-onthehunt/support

If you're from Sacramento this is a name you'll recognize as Mike Lamb was my co-host for several years. Not only is he a dear friend but he's also got some great stories and he's doing some incredible work. Our conversation today is not only about his time playing ball at USC but his relationship with Oakland Raiders Al Davis, the players that came from that era and his current endeavors to bring awareness to the mental health aspect of the game. His stories will bring a different perspective of the sport that we both love and his passion now with his involvement in "Hall of Fame Health" that works to support players with health issues as a result of football related injuries. Head trauma and concussion protocols have and will continue to change sports in the future. We have a candid discussion today about a variety of things that I think you'll find entertaining, informative and, in some ways, helpful as you may be considering sports for you children. I hope you enjoy the show as much as I enjoyed the conversation. Valentine's Day is just around the corner and the means your personal grooming better be where it needs to you. This is an early Media Network in which John Campbell reports that Radio Liberation, the voice of Chilean Resistance, has been trying some guerrilla broadcasting by breaking into the audio of several sports networks during football matches. Radio Delmare in Belgium has become more audible. There was a promo for PA6PCJ, with a special ham radio station operating from the station building. I remember co-hosting some of the broadcasts on April 30th together with Grant Coburn. We review the Moscow Muffler, designed to improve reception when the Russian Over the Horizon station in Ukraine was active. We talk to Mike Lamb on a rather ropey line to Lynwood, WA to ask him how it works. There was a fascinating interview with David Harris who was technical director of Radio Botswana in Gabarone. In 1985, shortwave was the only viable way to serve such a huge country. VOA has also benefitted. David was quite critical of DXers who were sending in useless reports and therefore decided NOT to QSL foreign reports. The programme concludes with Richard Ginbey who reports Voice of the Gospel via Moyabi, Gabon. Stations are opening in Nigeria. Paris Calling Africa from RFI is expanding its English output. We concluded with an interview with Henri Remmers who claimed this new satellite programme called Holland on Satellite was reaching 6 Million viewers. GRP 67-Back on the podcast for this week's episode is Michael Rodriguez a former Army Green Beret Medic (18 Delta). He sits on President George W. Bush's Military Service Initiative Advisory Council which engages in a wide range of activities that support veterans. Last but not least he's the Chief Ambassador for the Green Beret Foundation. On with us is a friend of Mikes a former 18 Delta Mark Belden. Mark has an interesting story with a background in mixed martial arts. We talk TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), Mike share's a story of when he treated an infant over in Afghanistan, and Mark shares a story of a time when he got into a hand to hand combat situation with a high-value target in Iraq. My good friend Chantel Taylor served in combat with junior combat medic named Mike Lamb in the British Army. Chantel was the senior medic on that kinetic rotation into Southern Afghanistan. Mike went on to get attached to British Special Forces and served as a Medic with the SAS. He recently lost his battle with cancer at the age of 32. Below is a link to the Gofundme campaign used to raise money for his young family. I encourage anyone who can to contribute to help out this warrior's wife and child during these difficult times. https://www.gofundme.com/for-the-family-of-mike-lamblamby Below is an excerpt from the show: John: Mark can you share a deployment story with the audience? Mark Belden: This isn't something I'm proud of, but it happened. We were on a mission in Iraq. We knew this guy was a bad cat killed a lot of coalition, and American forces. We got the lead on him. We caught him sleeping on the roof. He was like 300 plus pounds. Heavyweight lifter. We double cuffed him with flex cuffs. The interrogator called me in to stay with him for a second. The interpreter was standing in the back. He was about 2 feet from me. Stone cold look in his eyes. He said something to the terp. He said you might as well kill me now because I'm not going to talk. I said ok whatever man, I’m just here to hang out with you. He took a huge breath and snapped both of his flex cuff's. He charged at me. I think it was a left hook that immediately caught him. He lifted me up. A 45 second battle ensued. One of the guys came into the room and pulled em out. The guy ended up dying. I was later investigated for it. I was in a top shape. A one-minute fight for my life put a lot of things into perspective.
