In the late 1920s and early 30s, the coal fields of Harlan County, Kentucky, became the backdrop for one of the darkest chapters in labor history. Known as Bloody Harlan, this tumultuous time saw miners fighting for justice and fair treatment during a time of economic despair and corporate greed. At the heart of this struggle was William B. Jones, a determined union organizer who dared to stand up to the powerful coal operators, culminating in the battle of Evarts. Grizzly On The Hunt - Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Cryptids, Paranormal, Aliens, UFO's and More!
This Friday 06-09-23 at 6:00PM EST Time! The case goes in front of the board of people with abilities. Psychics Mediums and more. Each person reveals their findings on the case. Missing Person Mike Lamb. https://paranormalhub.com/grizzly-hunt https://grizzly.spiritsale.com By Alyssa Williams Published: May. 7, 2023 at 6:23 PM EDT WYMT Mountain News Weekend Edition newscast at 6 p.m. on Sunday. HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - The family of Harlan County native Mike Lamb is continuing to search for answers following his disappearance last year. It was March of 2022 when Lamb, 53, vanished from the Evarts community. Once Lamb was declared missing, his family hit the ground running with the search for him. "We went actually just everywhere. We went to the different places that we thought he could have been," said Lamb's cousin, Janice Brewer. "We went searching the river banks to make sure he hadn't fell off the side of the road or anything. We searched the ditches. We searched everywhere." More than one year later, the search for answers continues. "We urge everybody that if you hear anything at all, no matter how crazy it sounds, to tell one of us or the sheriff's office so we can check into it" said Lamb's son, Aaron Lamb. "It might sound off the wall and crazy, but it could have some truth to it, and that one little piece of information could very well be what leads us to finding my dad." Although the family said this search has been difficult, they continue to hold hope that justice will be served for Lamb. "Whatever happened, he didn't deserve it," said Aaron Lamb. "We know for sure he doesn't deserve to be laying up on the mountain somewhere or something. He deserves to be brought home." The ability of psychics to solve cases is a topic of much debate and skepticism. While some individuals claim to have psychic abilities and believe they can help solve crimes or provide insights into unresolved cases, there is no scientific evidence to support the existence of psychic powers. Law enforcement agencies generally rely on more conventional investigative methods, such as gathering evidence, conducting interviews, and employing forensic techniques, to solve cases. These methods are based on empirical data and have proven to be more reliable and effective in identifying suspects and solving crimes. While some psychics may claim to have assisted in solving cases, it is essential to approach such claims with skepticism. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and until verifiable and repeatable evidence is provided to support the effectiveness of psychic abilities in solving crimes, it is generally not considered a credible or reliable approach in law enforcement investigations. But our board brings forth info as they see it. Kentucky has had its share of cold cases, unsolved criminal investigations that have remained open for an extended period of time. Here are a few examples of notable cold cases in Kentucky: #mikelamb #where #walkededaway #kentucky #wymt #Summerwells #murder #coldcase #grizzlyonthehunt #unsolved #police #fbi #forensics #water #shallowgrave #missing #missingperson #kidnapoed #raped #stabbed #tied #body #buried localpolice #news #media #detectives #hotline #tips #sheriffs #deputy #deputies #drugs #narcotics #sex #dumpster #hotel #needle #heroin #prostitution #Xanax #pills #lost @TrueCrime @CrimeNews @CriminalJustice @kentucky @grizzlyonthehunt @HomicideCases @MurderMystery @CrimeScenelnvestigation @ForensicScience @ColdCase @CrimeDocumentary @SerialKiller @JusticeSystem @Criminology @CrimePrevention @LawEnforcement @VictimAdvocacy @CriminalProfiling @PrisonSystem @CrimeStatistics @GangViolence @CrimeAnalysis https://paranormalhub.com/grizzly-hunt https://grizzly.spiritsale.com --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/grizzly-onthehunt/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/grizzly-onthehunt/support

News Article By Alyssa Williams Published: May. Lamb's family said he walked outside the home he shared with his brother to go to his neighbor's house, but he never made it there. I mean, he left his phone and his wallet and everything like that, and my brother that is disabled, he also took care of, and he had left him there so I know he hadn't planned on being gone for long,” said Lamb's sister, Chasity Lamb. Once Lamb was declared missing, his family hit the ground running with the search for him. ”We went actually just everywhere. We went to the different places that we thought he could have been,” said Lamb's cousin, Janice Brewer. “We went searching the river banks to make sure he hadn't fell off the side of the road or anything. He deserves to be brought home.” In a statement to WYMT, Harlan County Sheriff Chris Brewer said his department's efforts in the search for Lamb are also continuing. The Mike Lamb case remains open as a missing persons case with foul play involved. There isn't a lot we can comment on due to the case remaining active but the Harlan County Sheriff's Office is still following any and all leads. I spoke with Mr. Lambs family not long after I was sworn in as Sheriff and informed them that we would continue on with the investigation and do everything in our power to bring justice and closure to the family. We are currently following new leads but also revisiting old leads to ensure we are doing everything possible to find Mr. Lamb and the ones responsible for his disappearance. In the meantime, Mr. Lamb's family remains in my prayers because I could not imagine the nightmare they are living. I ask anyone that if you have any information to please do the right thing and contact the Harlan County Sheriff's Office. Chris Brewer, Harlan County Sheriff Lamb's family said they are grateful for Sheriff Brewer's dedication to finding Lamb. They added they plan to host a large search party in the future. #mikelamb #where #walkededaway #kentucky #wymt #Summerwells #murder #coldcase #grizzlyonthehunt #unsolved #police #fbi #forensics #water #shallowgrave #missing #missingperson #kidnapoed #raped #stabbed #tied #body #buried localpolice #news #media #detectives #hotline #tips #sheriffs #deputy#deputies #drugs #narcotics #sex #dumpster #hotel #needle #heroin #prostitution #Xanax #pills #lost @TrueCrime @CrimeNews @CriminalJustice @kentucky @grizzlyonthehunt @HomicideCases @MurderMystery @CrimeSceneInvestigation @ForensicScience @ColdCase @CrimeDocumentary @SerialKiller @JusticeSystem @Criminology @CrimePrevention @LawEnforcement @VictimAdvocacy @CriminalProfiling @PrisonSystem @CrimeStatistics @GangViolence @CrimeAnalysis --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/grizzly-onthehunt/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/grizzly-onthehunt/support

This week's episode of The Diet Obsessed Podcast, features a discussion on Weight Loss Drugs and Supplements, including Fen-Phen, Xenadrine, Prolon Supplements, Medi-Fast and Adderall.... some of these have horrible side effects and I share my personal experience, along with experiences I encountered when I was in the weight loss industry. Then we transition into a review of The Skinny Confidential His and Her Podcast, where I review an old episode featuring Naomi Olindo, when she was on promoting a wellness product, but then accidentally launched into a discussion on Adderall after being prompted by Lauren; it was a very honest conversation which I appreciated. Finally I review a more recent episode of TSC, featuring Victoria Garrick, a body-acceptance influencer, who exposes the unhealthy world of Instagram filters and how a lot of celebrities and beauty influencers are promoting a false, unattainable image. If you're interested in weight loss, diet culture, body acceptance, body positivity, curated images vs real images, subscribe to The Diet Obsessed Podcast on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen to podcasts and don't forget to leave a review!

Ten years or so ago, the expression “never waste a downturn” became a popular maxim among business leaders who viewed the economy’s downward spiral as an opportunity to trim waste and restructure portions of their businesses. The expression also summed up the mind-set of a unique class of executives who, despite a bleak hiring environment, viewed the period as being potentially transformational for their careers. Such was the case with CFO John Evarts, who entered the downturn as a CFO for a not-for-profit and exited as CFO of Mediafly—a small content asset management company that in the coming years would open a new growth chapter by answering the demand for more compelling content in sales enablement. “From late 2008 to 2009, there were some challenges inside the not-for-profit sector, so I started looking for an opportunity to broaden myself beyond the not-for-profit realm—I was comfortable in taking that risk and making a bet on myself,” explains Evarts, who had originally transitioned into the not-for-profit sector from the world of investment banking and has also taken on the title of COO during his Mediafly tenure. “When I shifted from the not-for-profit area into ‘start-up land,’ I was fortunate to have this amazing opportunity to play a more strategic role and determine how to deploy resources in a more strategic way.” - Jack Sweeney CFOTL: Share with us a finance strategic moment of insight? Evarts: Our first opportunity for mergers and acquisitions was really what I would say was a watershed moment for me. I had never had the opportunity to pursue an acquisition before, and I needed to figure out for myself what a framework would be in order to determine whether this was a good one or not a good one. It's very different from what's in the textbooks. When you get into the actual practical matter of pursuing an acquisition, you need to be very disciplined in how you look at it, how you think it through. We had to come up with this construct that we call our 100-day plan. When I started thinking about how to make that construct and 100-day plan--what we call "one Mediafly"--it really started driving home the point that culture is critical. The reason why we're acquiring this company is so that not only do we get the benefit of the products, but also we get the benefit of the really great people who are on the team. We were able to get this 100-day plan around M&A as a way for us to think about and philosophize about this "one media fly" concept, which is, for example, the way that we look at how to source the capital that is necessary and how to figure out how the people need to work within the organization. So, it's not only how many resources we need in order to acquire this company, but also what does the construct in the comp model look like afterward? What is the expectation of revenue production that's going to come out afterward? Then, over time, you get to the point where you're also talking about culture and its impact. What do you think about when more than 50% of the company is outside of the Chicago headquarters? What do you do? How do you think about remote work? So, all of this goes beyond the typical finance conversation. It's really about culture, by the time you get it all the way out. This, for me, was kind of an "A-ha!" moment, once we got to this concept of "one Mediafly."

Today’s show is a BIG one, as we’re celebrating our 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY of The Influencer Podcast! So, we wanted to do something special - obviously. I mean, a one-year anniversary only happens once right?! We’re bringing back five of the most popular guests from episodes that the community seemed to deeply connect with. Today, these 5 stellar women are answering two questions with lessons that we didn’t discuss the first time they were on. Jennifer Puno from PeopleMap, my life & business coach Nicola Salter (@nicolasalter__loves_life_), Melody and Monica from SimplySpaced (@simplyspaced) and Lauryn Evarts from The Skinny Confidential (@theskinnyconfidential) are the star guests today, and I asked each of them the same two questions… What was your biggest lesson to growing an impactful and influential business? What’s one tip or focus in 2018 for improving your platform and serving your community? Let’s just say their answers do NOT disappoint and I re-listened to the show about 15 times taking notes. They give tactical tips on how to improve your influence today, and tidbits on the practices that make them all crazy successful (while still having a life, might I add!). I also give my own answers to both of those questions - with answers that might surprise you! In this episode of Wine and Dime, I welcome the newest member of Irvine Wealth Planning Strategies, Katie Welker! Katie is joining the team as our newest financial planner that has a specialty in taxes. Website info: https://www.irvineadvise.com/kates-bio/ (https://www.irvineadvise.com/kates-bio/) The Wine: Bully Hill - Merlot - Blackberry aromas and plum flavors rest on a medium bodied frame of cedar and firm tannins. https://www.bullyhillvineyards.com/wine/3/love-my-goat-2/ (https://www.bullyhillvineyards.com/wine/3/love-my-goat-2/) About Kate Kate@irvineadvise.com (mailto:Kate@irvineadvise.com) 607-438-3204 Puzzles always intrigued me. Crosswords, logic puzzles, whatever the sort of puzzle I love taking little pieces of information and putting them together to solve a problem. I was a student at Alfred State College majoring in Humanities and planning on transferring to a law program when a mentor suggested I go talk to someone in the business department about the financial planning program. When I learned what financial planning was I knew it was the right choice for me. I obtained my first job in the financial services industry in 2005 with a large insurance company. The position involved heavy sales and little planning. I quickly learned what type of financial advisor I was not meant to be and left to join a financial planning firm working under a CFP. I enjoyed working with clients, doing supervisory work, and creating financial plans. In 2009 I transitioned to focusing on income tax planning and preparation. I had interned at Alsheimer & Evarts Tax Accounting in college and fell in love with taxes and planning. Since that time I had always worked doing income tax preparation during the tax season, but transitioned to a full time career at Alsheimer & Evarts. I continue to hold this position and love meeting new clients, developing relationships that stretch over years, and facing a new situation every day. I missed being able to handle the investment piece for clients and I was able to become an independent registered representative in 2011. I ran my own small financial business alongside my position at Alsheimer & Evarts. My goal in financial planning had been to transition to fee only and I was researching how to transition my business and what direction to take. I had met Amy Irvine in college and considered her a dear friend and mentor, I had been thinking of reaching out to her when I ran into her at a football game. We began a conversation and in 2018 I joined Irvine Wealth Planning Strategies. My husband Paul and I have two children who keep us very entertained. I am a youth leader at Alfred Almond Bible Church, a Cub Scout den leader, and assist my husband in managing the Hornell Dodgers as part of the New York Collegiate Baseball League. This edition of Mountain News & World Report brings us the complicated legacy that coal is leaving in the mountains of southeastern, Kentucky. While on one hand we are proud to be miners and the children of miners, and we are grateful for the good paying jobs the industry has brought to the region, on the other hand, we are left wondering what now. In this time when the coal industry is in decline, we are reminded that the changes brought about by over a century mining coal aren’t easily adjusted. The first segment of this episode shares the story of Phillip Johnson and his family whose land has been strip-mined without their consent in recent years not unlike what was seen in the days of the Broadform Deed. While use of the broadform deed ended in 1988 through popular vote, the Johnsons found that there continues to be means by which a company can mine for minerals underneath the ground of a landowner who has not agreed to mining. Not only can they, but they can do so perfectly legally in Kentucky. WMMT contributor, Parker Hobson, brings us the story in collaboration with Tarence Ray of Appalachian Voices who has provided the photo of the Johnson property for this post. You can read Ray’s article and see more photographs at this link. Then, we revisit coverage from WMMT’s Rich Kirby in 2010 of the dedication of a permanent marker in remembrance of the Scotia Mine Disaster. March 9, 2016 marked the 40th anniversary of two mine explosions in Letcher Co., Kentucky. Dr. Greg Wagner gave an informative and thought-provoking commemorative speech revealing the complexities and sorrows these tragedies leave behind. And, finally, we have the story of Jeremy Brock of Evarts, Kentucky in our ongoing feature with Humans of Central Appalachia. Brock is an underground miner, father, and competition barbecuer. Like all of us, he’s wondering what happens when the mining jobs are all gone. Will his passion for barbecue be enough to carry him and his family through?
John Evarts had a dream of opening a coffee shop since high school. That dream came a long way to the first grand opening of Honu Coffee in Newhall, California in October 2014. I say, "Welcome to the Neighborhood." For me, this coffee shop is so timely in its arrival. I now have a place to go for great coffee that's close to home. As an entrepreneur, knowing when to press on, call it a day, or go a different way is tough. For John and his wife, they had moved their family to Hawaii, leased a building and were ready to open Honu Coffee on Kauai but were held up by complicated and extended permitting issues. They made the tough call to abandon the project. But all is not lost, we now welcome Honu Coffee to Santa Clarita. John also owns a property management company.
