Send us a textStarting off the New Year with something a bit more fun and a little unusual, but still the topic of weight loss: old school diet myths! Doing a bit of research I came across a crazy series of fad diets that not only spans to things our grandparents and parents did, but some from hundreds of years ago! A few of them I had never heard of, some I thought were much newer than they actually are, and I'll even share a handful of ones I've tried myself in the past! Between the kind laughs, I'll also touch on why people, myself included, have fallen for these diets and why some of them “kind of” worked, of course bringing it back to the true effective weight loss method, the calorie deficit! Tune into hear me chat more about:• Diets by decade from single food diets, to skipping breakfast, to special food combos and liquid diets.• Topical creams, slimming soaps and shaking the weight off with belts and chairs. • Raw food diets and foods that were claimed to be bad, like eggs.• The low-fat food craze and starvation mode myth.• Reflections on the patterns and how we've always been obsessed with “easy” weight loss. Welcome to another episode of The One Guy Show! In today's episode, we dive deep into the world of weight loss, nutrition, and mindset. We aim to bust some common myths and misconceptions that often hold people back on their weight loss journeys. We start by discussing the fallacy of categorizing foods as 'good' or 'bad' and how this mindset can sabotage your progress. Hayden shares a powerful client story to illustrate how changing this perspective can lead to a healthier relationship with food and more sustainable weight loss. Next, we tackle the misconception that exercise is the be-all and end-all for weight loss. We explain why focusing solely on exercise can be counterproductive and how daily movement and a balanced approach to nutrition are far more effective. Finally, we emphasize the importance of lifestyle factors such as sleep, stress management, and overall well-being in achieving and maintaining weight loss. We discuss how these elements are often overlooked but play a crucial role in your success. Don't miss this eye-opening episode that promises to change the way you think about weight loss, forever. Today on the podcast we are going to talk about Debunking the TOP 5 Weight Loss Myths Welcome to the Weight Loss for Women Over 40 podcast! I am your host Nikki T. I have been helping women lose weight since 2002! For about half of that time, using my background as a Personal Trainer and Physical Therapist Assistant, I gave fat-burning workout programs and nutritional meal plans and guidelines to my clients…and they got results! But what I have found is they haven't kept the weight off…after experimenting on myself 1st (I am my first client) I discovered the missing piece to keeping the weight off for good. It is in the mindset work. When clients come to me they get fast and effective workout plans. I teach them my one rule (which is super flexible) and they get food guidelines where no foods are off limits. Transforming Your Relationship with Food and Exercise: Insights from Laura Hinton Weight loss can be achieved by changing our eating habits and our relationship with food, rather than fixating on strict diets and clean eating. Laura Hinton shares her journey with Tonya Leigh of losing 50 pounds by shifting her mindset around food. She stressed that she didn't have to eat only "clean" or "good for you" foods to lose weight. Instead, she focused on consuming the same foods she had been eating but in moderation and with a fresh perspective. Laura's story underscores the importance of impartial evaluation and self-acceptance when it comes to food choices. She mentioned transitioning from self-judgment to self-love, which ultimately yielded more effective results in her weight loss journey. By approaching food with love and grace, she was able to make sustainable changes without feeling deprived or restricted. When individuals shift their focus from self-criticism to self-acceptance, they are more likely to make healthier choices, listen to their bodies, and approach weight loss from a place of empowerment rather than punishment. This shift in mindset can lead to enduring results and a more positive relationship with food, exercise, and self-image. "We want the quick fix now. We want to lose weight by the wedding. We want to lose weight by bikini season. And we have just set ourself up for this toxic cycle of white knuckling." "So 100%, the most surprising thing to me was that I'm in charge of the way that I feel." "Well, I think the biggest thing that changed for me in terms of my relationship with food is that food is no longer a source of comfort." "There aren't good or bad foods. There's just food." "In a way, it was like a dopamine hit. It was fun for the first day or two thinking about this new diet that may work." "You can still have pizza, but instead of eating half the pizza, we're gonna have two slices and see how that goes." "So many people, especially in the diet industry, they use exercise as a form of punishment." In this episode, I'm speaking with nutrition expert Alex Leaf, someone you may remember from past episodes. I've been lucky to work closely with Alex for the past few years—he's a highly informed researcher and science writer, and he's rare in the world of nutrition. He's extremely scientifically literate and able to break through popular trends to provide practical and accurate interpretations of sometimes complicated research. I'm really excited for you to hear our latest conversation…we cover a lot of ground, including what the research says about weight loss and calories in/calories out, low-carb versus low-fat diets, the best diet for fat loss, how a low-protein diet affects life span, and, one topic I know you won't want to miss; Alex's opinion on a recent publication showing that time-restricted eating leads to a much higher risk of death from cardiovascular disease…is this true? To celebrate Alex's appearance on the podcast, I'm offering The Fat Loss Blueprint for $200 off the regular price of $497. Alex and I collaborated on creating this program, and it's an evidence-based, no gimmicks approach to very effective fat loss. >> Click here to enroll in The Fat Loss Blueprint for only $297 with the code “Alex” at checkout.

You can't have a phone face indent. · Set your intention for the day. You're not going to get it if you are looking at your cell phone the whole time. [45:08] The Nourishment Mindset & Cholesterol Paranoia Syndrome · Her favorite chapter is called CPS, cholesterol paranoia syndrome. · There are so many people walking around with side effects taking statins. The number needed to treat is insane. · Dixie isn't saying statins should go away but there are also people who propose stagnating the water in certain countries. · She hopes that someone can just say that there's another story to it because she believes that a lot of people are swallowing statin pills just for insurance. Millions of people are basically being tricked and misled into poor “healthy” food choices that make you unhealthy and even more overweight. It's safe to safe diet and exercise are two of the best ways to have better health and lose weight but even that advice is being tainted by the medical research community, doctors, and companies with monetary agendas. This episode is going to expose why counting calories doesn't work and how it totally ignores the complexities of our human bodies and the environments we live in. It's going to explain why exercise isn't the best thing for most people to start with that are trying to lose weight. Finally we're revealing how so-called “healthy” foods are as unhealthy as the fast food you've been told to avoid. Tim Spector, professor of genetic epidemiology, award-winning scientist and author has been published in the world's top scientific journals. His work has involved finding the link between genetics and disease. Part of that work includes exposing the lies and myths around nutrition, diet, and how to eat for better health. Tim is also the co-founder of Zoe, a weight loss program and nutrition study designed to look at your gut microbiome, your blood sugar, your diet and more from day to day to help you improve your long-term health and reach a healthier weight. So, meat, I see it as an option.” Follow Tim Spector: Website: https://joinzoe.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tim.spector/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/timspector YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/ZOE-health RESTART your life in 7 days: http://bit.ly/42KM8OR Click here to download your FREE guide to 100x YOUR EFFICIENCY IN 10 EASY STEPS: https://bit.ly/3F8qOJL Sponsors: Sign up for a one-dollar-per-month trial period at http://www.shopify.com/impact Visit http://www.houseofmacadmais.com/impact and use code impact for 20% off all purchases, and for a limited time a complimentary bottle of cold-pressed Extra Virgin macadamia oil! They published "Christmas Jammies" in December 2013 and life hasn't been the same. Since then, their popular parodies, "All About That Baste", "Baby Got Class," and original music "Snow Day" have received national news coverage. Penn, the Dad, took a chance and left his job as a news anchor to join his wife Kim, the Mom, at their video production and digital marketing company, Greenroom Communications, LLC. Lola and Penn Charles are always happy, respectful and eat all of their vegetables (that last sentence is a lie).
