To kick things off, the guys got the podcast started with a look at Tyler's vacation and how he had quite the adventure in his 10 days away from the office. From going to the wrong hotel in Vegas to making friends at the tables to playing top golf by himself, Yaremchuk had the best time down in the states even though he had to mix some actual work in from time to time that included speaking to Connor McDavid and Gary Bettman. Speaking of vacations, Jay offered more details about the Nation Vacation to Nashville and how it's going to be another weekend to remember for everyone that makes their way down. From there, the guys got to some Oilers talk as the team had a very busy end to their week as Ken Holland finally made the call to fire Dave Tippett and replace him with Jay Woodcroft. Lastly, the guys looked at the Oilers as the trade deadline approaches and offered up some ideas on what the team needs to get done.

Will they make a big splash? What are they looking for? Those are the questions they looked at. They also touched on one of the powerhouse teams in the Eastern Conference: the Carolina Hurricanes. Last deadline Don Waddell just missed on some deals and he could be hungry to make a big addition this year.   They also had an extended conversation about the values of depth players. There are some fascinating situations around the league and some players who some teams could view as their versions of Barclay Goodrow and Blake Coleman. Frank and Jason both shared some surprising names that could fetch first-round picks at the deadline.

It's Thursday afternoon and we're hitting you with a brand new episode of Oilersnation Radio to help you finish off what's left of your week with an hour of all things Edmonton Oilers. On today's show, we looked at Evander Kane signing with the Oilers, two comeback wins, and a whole lot more. To kick off this week's podcast, we jumped in with a look at the news everyone is talking about after word broke that the Oilers had come to an agreement with the winger after the NHL announced that he'd face no further discipline for the alleged COVID violations. Seeing as he was cleared from being suspended and could join the Oilers as early as this weekend, we wondered where Kane will fit in the lineup now that he's in the mix. Changing gears, we spent a little bit of time looking back on the two huge wins that happened this past week as the Oilers were able to complete comebacks against both Calgary and Vancouver. From there we spent a couple of minutes talking about tonight's matchup with the Nashville Predators and how we all feel like this is an important game for the Oilers to win as they continue working on building some confidence. Lastly, we wrapped up this week's podcast with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold performers to recap what was a very busy week here in Edmonton.

With that excitement out of the way, Baggedmilk turned the conversation towards yesterday's Bills playoff loss as everyone was wondering how he handled such a crushing defeat. Getting to some good news, the guys then covered Saturday's Battle of Alberta win and spoke at length about how much everyone surrounding the Oilers needed that win. Even with that win, the guys on the podcast wondered if the Oilers still need to add more meat to their lineup to make sure they're not getting pushed around at all. From there, the podcast turned back towards the Metaverse and chatted about whether or not the guys would be interested in participating in events that weren't "real" even though they felt like it. Lastly, the guys wrapped up the podcast with a story about how Jay managed to get the Oilersnation Instagram account back after two years in the dark.

It's Friday afternoon and the gang is all here with a brand new episode of Oilersnation Radio to help you finish off what's left of your week with an hour of all things Edmonton Oilers. On today's show, we looked at the Oilers refusing to fire the coach, and a whole lot more. To kick things off, we jumped in with a delicious debate about how surprised we all are that the Oilers haven't made any changes behind the bench yet. Personally, I'm not at all surprised that Dave Tippett is still with the team regardless of the fact that he's lost his last 13 games, but that's more of a reflection on the organization than it is a reflection of my own desires. From there, we looked at the Oilers' goaltending situation and whether or not it's actually realistic that they're able to get anything done mid-season. Even if they can find a trade partner, is there any way to win a trade when you're dealing from a position of weakness? From there, we previewed the Battle of Alberta that's set for Saturday night and wondered if this is the exact matchup the Oilers need to get themselves fired up and ready to go. Over the last couple of seasons, the Battle of Alberta has been extra spicy and maybe getting into a game where emotions are running his is part of the solution? Lastly, we wrapped up this week's podcast with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold performers to recap what was a very busy week here in Edmonton.

Getting away from the Oilers, the guys dove into their Wordle strategies as the daily word game continues to take over the Internet right now. Is everyone playing? Do the guys have strategies? From there, the guys dove into a conversation from last Thursday's podcast about Chicago Mix after Real Life listener, Electronic Jordan, went to Costco and provided the kind of research that was desperately needed. On today's show, we looked at the Oilers' losing streak, what needs to change, game postponements, and a whole lot more. To kick off this week's podcast, we got started with a look at the Edmonton Oilers' latest struggles and how desperate they should be to make some changes. For a large segment of the fanbase, firing the head coach seems like the first thing that needs to be done but what about a trade? I asked the guys whether or not they think Holland should be pushing to make a trade right now even though teams aren't necessarily making moves right now. We also looked at the current losing streak and how that must be affecting the team mentally. Needless to say, the Oilers are gripping the stick so tightly that they're passing up chances to shoot in favour of a prettier play instead of getting greasy in the crease and looking for garbage goals. For all of us on the podcast, what was most obvious is that the Oilers are not as bad as they're playing right now but how they pull themselves out of this slump remains to be seen. Lastly, we wrapped up this week's podcast with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold performers to recap what was a very busy week here in Edmonton.

It's Thursday afternoon and we're coming at you with an early episode of Oilersnation Radio to help you finish get through your week with an hour of all things Edmonton Oilers. On this week's show, we looked at the Oilers' loss to St. Louis, the WJC cancellation, and a whole lot more. To kick off this week's podcast, we got started with a look at Oilers New Years' resolutions that we'd like to see the team carry into 2022. Whether it's shooting more, approaching the game with a pack mentality, shooting more, or anything in between, we offered our takes on what the Oilers should look to accomplish as we start a new year. From there, we look at last night's loss to the St. Louis Blues and how mistakes proved costly. Seeing as he made a couple of costly errors in his NHL debut, we also looked at Dmitri Samorukov's first game and whether or not it was fair that he was benched for the rest of the game after he was beaten twice for a pair of first period goals. That conversation led us into discussing Dave Tippett's future behind the bench and whether we're nearing the time when the team should be making a coaching change. Personally, I don't think we're all that close to having Tippett fired because that's not how Ken Holland rolls, but there is little doubt that the yearning for a new voice behind the bench is growing in Oil Country. Lastly, we wrapped up this week's podcast with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold performers to recap what was a very busy week here in Edmonton.

Another Thursday has landed on our calendars and the boys are back with a fresh Real Life Podcast to help you get into the Christmas break. Today, the boys talked about what happened on the Christmas break, the Oilers' return, and a whole lot more. To kick off the Thursday episode of Real Life, the podcast got started with a look at the Christmas break and what everyone got up to with a couple of well-deserved days off. From there, the guys looked back at the year 2021 and offered up some of the lessons they learned over the past 12 months and whether there were any positives to be pulled from what was another trying year. The guys also looked ahead at 2022 and offered up some New Years' resolutions for the Edmonton Oilers as work their way into a new calendar year. Sticking with the Oilers, the guys looked at what the team needs and whether or not there's any possibility of a trade happening in the coming weeks that sends a message to the squad that they need to be better. As the conversation progressed, however, it seemed like there isn't much hope among the boys that the current management group has the stones or the resources to pull off the moves that need to get done. Are the boys wrong? Only time will tell, but the Oilers are very quickly erasing all of the goodwill they built from themselves in the early portion of the season and that's a trend that desperately needs to change.

Happy Holidays! We hope you enjoyed the holiday break and we hope that you're ready for a brand new episode of the podcast! The holiday buzz around the sport was squished a little bit by the NHL's pause, which isn't ending as quickly as we thought it was. Frank and Jason talked about the impacts of the Omnicoron virus on the league and when things could get back to normal. They also brought in Tyler Yaremchuk for a new edition of Fill in the Blank before getting to Chris Peters, who gave us some fantastic insight into the early days of the World Junior Hockey Championships!

Another Thursday has landed on our calendars and the boys are back with a fresh Real Life Podcast to help you get into the Christmas break. Today, the boys were talking about Festivus grievances, the Jasper pond hockey tournament, betting on random Bowl games, and a whole lot more. To kick off the Thursday episode of Real Life, the podcast got started with a look at Festivus and that meant the boys had a chance to air their grievances and share their feats of strength. Seeing as COVID poked its ugly head into the Christmas season for the second straight year, there's no doubt that Omicron was high up on everyone's list of grievances. Seeing as the NHL may or may not actually be back for the 27th as planned, the lack of sports had some of the guys betting on games they wouldn't otherwise be interested in. The guys also talked about the Jasper pond hockey tournament that kicks off in late January and how the boys are pumped to get back into the tournament after a few years away. From there, the podcast fell off the rails a little bit as the guys discussed everything from stealing ice makers to holiday drinks and everything in between.

Today on the show, Frank and Mike talked about the official Olympic announcement, what disappoints them the most about NHLers not going, they gave 'stocking stuffers' to a few NHL teams, and Chris Peters stopped by for a World Juniors preview!

Oilersnation Radio

It's Wednesday afternoon and we're coming at you with an early episode of Oilersnation Radio to help you finish get through your week with an hour of all things Edmonton Oilers. On this week's show, we looked at the NHL's shutdown, the Olympic dream dying, and a whole lot more. To kick off this week's podcast, we got started with a look at the Oilers' Christmas wishlist and specifically what we would give them if we had Santa's powers to make it happen. Whether it was depth scoring or goaltending or a COVID-free 2022, our list was as varied as you'd expect when it comes to needs for the Oilers and we hope to see some of those items checked off as we head into the new year. From there, we jumped into the NHL shutdown news and took a few guesses about how this situation is going to play out even when teams are expected to get back to work on December 27th. We also covered the news that the NHL would not be sending its players to China for the Olympics, which spawned a debate about whether or not the league should use this as an opportunity to bring back the World Cup of Hockey instead. Lastly, we wrapped up this week's podcast with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold performers to recap what was a very busy week here in Edmonton.
