What Is The Church? - HCP 251On this episode Larry and Drew talk about the definitions of the church. What is a church? The word church seems to be thrown around to describe a worship service or a beautiful vacation spot, but what does the Bible define as the church? There are normative expectations from NT writers and it's important to make sure we understand the Biblical definition. You can email us at info@healthychurchpodcast.com orTo find more information about The Healthy Church Podcast go to:http://www.healthychurchpodcast.comor find us on FaceBook!
3 Focal Points for the Effective Church (p.3) - HCP 250On this episode, Larry and Drew discuss THE most important aspect of these 3 points to consider and that's the SPIRITUAL. Jesus is the Chief Shepherd, it is His church, and we want to do more than go through the motions or understand contextually what the culture is in the area of our church. We want to meet with, experience, learn from our King - and to do those things we must have an awareness and intentionality of the Spiritual aspects of our own lives and the life of our church. You can email us at info@healthychurchpodcast.com orTo find more information about The Healthy Church Podcast go to:http://www.healthychurchpodcast.comor find us on FaceBook!

Levels of Leadership p. 2&3 - HCP 246On this episode, Larry and Drew revisit their previous conversation on different levels of leadership. Today they address “permission” and “production”. Level 2 - permission is about relationships and building trust with your body so that you may add influence to your position. Level 3 - production is about what you're trying to get done with the congregation. This is a solid episode on what these areas of growth as a leader look like. Levels of Leadership p. 1 - HCP 245On this podcast Larry and Drew discuss the first and second levels of Maxwell's “Level's of Leadership”. Just because you have the “position” as pastor, doesn't mean you have the trust of the people. In the business world, leaders are followed at this level (because they have to be) because of their job. As church leaders, we want to build trust because our people want to give it, not because they are forced to. What Does Your Church NEED? - HCP 240On this podcast Larry and Drew ask the question - What does your church need? As pastors and church leaders we need to continually be aware of the needs of our church family. Not unlike when you go to the doctor and they run tests to establish a baseline for your health, your church can also ask some questions that can help you get a good understanding of what things may be going well and what areas of need there may be. The Right YES - HCP 237On this podcast Larry and Drew finish the conversation from a couple of weeks ago regarding when to say no and being prayerful about saying yes. This conversation is about the choices we make, and the minute by minute, day by day and so on reality that the choices we make shape us. Be thoughtful of what you say yes to. What started as a throw away title while supporting her husband James Rebanks on his book tours, Helen Rebanks now proudly refers to herself as the farmers wife - a title that has very much become her identity & set in her a burning desire to write her own book about invisible women who's stories are not told. As a mother of four & the backbone for their farming ventures in the Lakes District in the UK, Helen declares that the only people who work harder than farmers are farmers wives. I reckon she's right! She is a small in stature, large in capability kind of woman who truly loves her daily reason to get out of bed & nurture her family. hold the many threads of keeping a family going, setting the pace and rhythm. She speaks of honouring our capability to be in service with love, empathy compassion & a regular roast on the dinner table not just on Sundays. Through this lens she is bringing her own kind of approach to combatting corporate greed, multi national farmland ownership & returning us to localised food systems.Food that's made with love & care says “I'm nourished & looked after” - imagine being the person in the house that provides this service” This story is about speaking up for those who hold families together, hold communities together. HCP - Ep. 223 - Prayer PowerOn this podcast, Larry and Drew really break down how important it is to pray above all things. Jesus tells us that “apart from me you can do NOTHING”. HCP - Ep. 222 - Intro to Values (P. 3 - Place)On this episode of the HCP, Larry and Drew discuss the importance of, yet the danger with the “place” of worship. Too often we can not only make our buildings the center of our ministry, we can make it a sacred part of ministry which we must be careful with. God uses all types of churches and discipleship methods, but we must always be willing to ask the hard questions of what is MOST important to us - the mission of Jesus, or the model of ministry. HCP - Ep. 218 - Envy (Guest Mike Fabarez)On this podcast Larry and Drew welcome Pastor and Author Mike Fabarez who has written the book “Envy: A Big Problem You Didn't Know You Had”. As pastors and church leaders whether or not we're willing to admit it, we struggle with this sin.
