Y la escena emergente golpea fuerte con Zakura , Fighting From Within, Freedom Concept y Methoxide. On the final day of the Monsters of Rock Cruise, Eddie Trunk welcomes Jeff Scott Soto, Jason Bieler, and David Ellison for an engaging discussion about their musical collaborations and individual projects. The trio talks about Saigon Kick's recent performances with Jeff on vocals, replacing the original singer while maintaining the band's authentic sound. David shares updates on his work with Metal Church and Kings of Thrash, while Jeff discusses his successful run with Trans-Siberian Orchestra and his remarkable recovery from knee replacement surgery. After that, members of Queensrÿche join Eddie to discuss their unique position straddling both metal and progressive rock genres. Todd La Torre shares insights about his vocal approach and maintaining his voice after 14 years with the band, while Michael Wilton and Eddie Jackson talk about their side projects and the band's musical DNA. Sweet provides an update on his cancer battle and shares news about Stryper's 18th studio album coming in September. There´s Going To Be The Devil To Pay). (To Hell With The Devil 1986).

What happens when creativity collides with uncertainty? In this compelling episode, Bruce Collins sits down with Michael Sweet of Stryper to discuss a project born during the chaos of the COVID era—one he never expected would reach the public. Michael shares the emotional and creative journey behind the work, revealing how isolation, doubt, and shifting circumstances shaped both the music and his mindset. What started as something deeply personal nearly stayed hidden, but ultimately found its way into the light. The conversation dives into the realities of the music industry during lockdown, the challenges artists faced when the world shut down, and the resilience required to keep creating when the future felt uncertain. Michael also reflects on faith, purpose, and the drive to keep pushing forward—even when no one may ever hear what you're making. This episode is a powerful look at perseverance, artistic vulnerability, and the unseen struggles behind the music we eventually get to experience.

Hiya Hiya Hiya! We're back with a new film commentary, just the same kinda thing that started this whole podcast, Me and my pal Dan Teisan reacting in real time to a rock n' roll film from the mid 1990s. I was originally clued into the existence of this movie on either reddit or facebook in an "Old newspaper ads for films" group(because my life is a non stop action sensation of sensational action and adventurous sexual encounterings with wild people I'm constantly encountering and adventuring all up and over). And I have to say I was shocked that I'd never heard of this film made with my dude from Eddie and the Cruisers and one of the Boondock Saints and Diane Ladd so what's the deal here? Oh wait, who's on the soundtrack...STRYPER? Oh THAT's why. It's a film about mid 90s L.A. rock and somehow there's STRYPER songs in it? Well then it's a Christian film isn't it? Yep, it is.  The source we watched: https://archive.org/details/raging-angels_202312 Official website: https://millennium-media.net/mf-films/raging-angels/ Currently not-updated but still open to download bonus feed here https://www.patreon.com/rockfilmrock Choose your preferred method of supporting the show for no money or maybe some money: PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/whatsamatta Shirt designs with defeatist messaging delivered via bright colors and childish graphics: https://www.bonfire.com/store/justtheworstshirtsever/ Subscribe to me on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCV4Up7xGgjioEC07bjwu4mQ Follow on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/justtheworstever/ Send me an email with show suggestions: Justtheworstever@gmail.com Suicide Prevention, Text/Call: 988 https://afsp.org/ National Sexual Assault Hotline 1-800-656-4673 https://www.rainn.org/resources

This loaded episode of The Eddie Trunk Podcast starts with Stryper frontman Michael Sweet joining Eddie Trunk to discuss his recent thyroid cancer diagnosis and upcoming surgery. Sweet talks about Stryper's first-ever Christmas album 'The Greatest Gift of All,' featuring five traditional songs and five originals and also reveals details about the band's upcoming 18th studio album, a solo project with a vintage sound, and the long-awaited Stryper documentary. Then, it's Tesla frontman Jeff Keith and Steelheart vocalist Miljenko 'Millie' Matijevic joining Eddie to premiere their new collaboration covering Foghat's version of 'I Just Want to Make Love to You.' The pair share how their friendship blossomed on the Monsters of Rock Cruise five years ago over champagne and cigars, leading to this spontaneous project. After that, legendary drummer Josh Freese joins Eddie Trunk to discuss his latest creative project 'Just a Minute, Volume Two,' an album featuring 25 songs that each last only 60 seconds. Freese explains how the concept began during the pandemic as a fun creative outlet with no commercial intentions before Stone Gossard of Pearl Jam encouraged him to release it. The conversation reveals Freese's impressive career spanning punk, rock, and pop - from playing with Nine Inch Nails and Guns N' Roses to Weezer and Avril Lavigne.   Catch Eddie Trunk every M-F from 3:00-5:00pm ET on Trunk Nation on SiriusXM Faction Talk Channel 103.And don't forget to follow Eddie on X and Instagram!Follow the link to get your free 3-month trial of SiriusXM: http://siriusxm.com/eddietrunk Find all episodes of Trunk Nation: https://siriusxm.com/trunknation Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. What's up, dudes? They're a legendary metal band whose songs were played all the time on MTV. Yes, we're talking Stryper! I've got the incredible Michael Sweet with me to talk about their 1984 singles “Reason for the Season” and “Winter Wonderland!” We also dive into their new album The Greatest Gift of All available this year in November. The boys lay down an eighth note riff in “Reason for the Season,” and modulate for the chorus. The song is full of their dual lead guitar, harmonized in 3rds for texture and interest. After coming to a rocked out climax, it ends with harmonics and acoustic and clean tone electrics. The tight vocal pads give an ethereal feeling contrasting with the previous heavy straightforward rock vibe.Released in December ‘84, the single had a Stryperized version of the classic “Winter Wonderland” as a B-side. This time the band gave the song a swing eighth-triplet riff. After some introductory dialogue, they launch into it, and segue nicely into a triplet dual lead solo. Uniquely, a turnaround transitions to an Elvis inspired bluesy half time rendition of the chorus. And now, this year the band has a new Christmas album! Stryper The Greatest Gift of All is full of classics and original tunes. From a lush and calming “Silent Night” to an uptempo “Joy to the World,” it has it all. The album even ends with re-recordings of their two ‘80s singles, updating them sonically and ending with a bang!Guitar? Check. Soaring vocals? Yep. Full on Stryper vibes? Definitely! So grab your axe, put on your Christmas pajamas, and rock out to this episode on Stryper The Greatest Gift of All!StryperFB: @StryperFB: @MichaelSweet IG: @StryperGive us a buzz!
