EPISODE 143 - “GUESS WHO'S NUMBER ONE?: STEVE & NAN RANK TRACY/HEPBURN FILMS” - 6/08/2026 One of the most dynamic duos in film history is undoubtedly the teaming of SPENCER TRACY and KATHARINE HEPBURN. This chemistry was electric. Over the course of their careers, they appeared in nine films together — covering a wide range of genres. They were in everything from Westerns (“The Sea of Grass”) to film noirs (“Keeper of the Flame”) to what would become their specialty, romantic comedies (“Pat and Mike”). They also appeared in the seminal 1960s social comedy/drama “Guess Who's Coming to Dinner.” This week, Steve & Nan will do the impossible — they will attempt to rank the nine films this duo made together. Throughout the Gospels, some of Jesus' most powerful moments happened around a table. He taught truth, extended grace, confronted hypocrisy, built relationships, and revealed the heart of God while sharing meals with ordinary people. From dining with sinners to feeding thousands, every meal carried a message. This sermon series, “Guess Who's Coming To Dinner,” Pastor Brad leads us to explore the meals of Jesus and what they teach us about faith, fellowship, forgiveness, humility, and the Kingdom of God. Each week highlights a different scene where Jesus used food and fellowship to transform lives and point people toward salvation. As we gather around these tables, we discover that Jesus still invites people to come near, find grace, and experience true spiritual nourishment. Whether you feel far from God or close to Him, there is always a place at the table with Jesus.
We're bringing back a fan favorite. In 2015 we had a Guess Who's Coming to Dinner episode where we discuss which 3 hip-hop personalities we would invite to dinner for a conversation. On this episode we Spike Lou and Animal Brown invite 3 more people for Thanksgiving dinner. Also, Kodak gets sentenced, Lil Reese is shot and is Lauryn Hill back?
Lets say you are having the ultimate hip hop dinner party, and you can invite three guest from the culture, who would your three be? AB and Spike Lou give you theirs.

For roughly 25 years, Sarah walks under a promise of God that not only hasn't come true yet, but was not given directly to her. She's walking in the dim light of an unmet expectation. She's bitter, cynical and cruel to those around her. She's lost sight of God and she can only see the barrenness inside herself and her future. But God sees her. And He knows her. And He appears to her - a woman in a patriarchal society that gave no voice to a woman, no matter who she was married to. God's unwavering commitment to His promise shines through in Sarah's life, illuminating not only her barren womb but her own sin. Sarah emerges completely changed, carrying her son Isaac as a trophy of God's grace to her and the steadfastness of His love. It's stories like these that encourage us as modern day believers. The God who promised Sarah and Abram is the same God that promises to wipe our own tears away for eternity. This promise will be fulfilled as it was for them. We walk in faith and not by sight, but how glorious will it be when we finally see God's glory, illuminating our very souls forever and ever and ever.
With his new documentary Billy Preston: That's the Way God Planned It opening in New York on Friday, veteran director Paris Barclay is here to unpack Stanley Kramer's 1967 hot-button love story Guess Who's Coming to Dinner – a picture he knows inside and out. Your genial host Norm Wilner is here to take it in.
Revelation 3:20 is one of the most familiar verses in all of the Bible, often used as an evangelism text purporting to portray Christ knocking at the door of an unbelieving sinner's heart. While that may be a legitimate interpretation of the text, it is more than likely that the door Jesus is knocking on is the door to the church, and it isn't the sinner He is seeking, but dinner with His own people.

Today on another encore episode of the Rarified Heir Podcast we are talking to Katherine Kramer, daughter of producer/director Stanley Kramer. Our chat with Katherine or Kat was both edifying and easy as we had familial connections and we learned a few things in the process. Such as? Well how about what famous actress was she named after, where in the Western United States did her family move to once they left Hollywood and what films made her father a bankable director while he was still producing. We also spoke about some of his films, many of them 'message' films such as Guess Who's Coming To Dinner, Judgement at Nuremberg, The Defiant Ones and a small, off-beat comedy called It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World which co-starred Edie Adams, our host's Josh Mills's mother. In all, Stanley Kramer's films garnered 80 Academy Awards and starred everyone from Spencer Tracy to Sidney Pointier, Marlon Brando and so many, many more. Kat talked to us about her work as well – in terms of both her charity events and her film festivals, her one woman show about Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, her creepy house growing up, The Kennedy Assassination and much more. This is the Rarified Heir Podcast and everyone has a story. Kat Kramer's is coming right up!

It's Thanksgiving, and the plan is for everyone to gather at Grams's house -- even Pacey, since his family eats later, presumably because everyone hopes his dad gets drunk enough to sleep through it? Gale is living in the Leery guest room while she, and somehow not Mitch, looks for an apartment; Dawson is suspicious of how pleasantly they're getting along. Joey is missing her poor dead mom today more than usual. Andie's plan is to make dinner for Jack and her dad, but then Joseph gets stuck in Chicago so they have to come to Grams's too so that Andie can be weird around Pacey. Only Jen is really having a great day and looking forward to fooling around with Pacey later, per their new FWB arrangement...so it's too bad for her when she opens her bedroom door and sees her mother Helen (Mel Harris!) standing there. What does Dawson do with his secret knowledge of Helen's past? How much does Joey bum everyone out with her orphan-osity? Do Jen and Pacey ever manage to bone??? We hope YOU will be our guest for our episode on "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner"! JOIN THE AWT CLUB
