Direction that should be faced when a Muslim prays during salat
POPULARITY
For sixteen months, the Prophet ﷺ and his companions prayed toward Jerusalem. Then, in the middle of Rajab, everything changed. But what happened when the revelation came down during Asr prayer? And what about those companions praying miles away in Masjid Quba who had no idea the Qibla had just shifted? In this episode of the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Ustadh Abdulrahman Hassan takes us through one of the most pivotal moments in Islamic history: the day the Muslim Ummah turned toward the Kaaba. Discover the dramatic scene of companions mid-prayer, the single messenger who changed everything, and the Jews of Medina who called the Muslims "dimwitted" for this divine command. But that's not all. Why did the Prophet ﷺ long to face the Kaaba while still honouring Jerusalem? What hidden fiqh rulings emerged from this single event? And how does the fasting of Ashura connect to this momentous occasion? The stage is now set for the greatest battle in Islamic history: a battle where Allah Himself promised forgiveness to its participants. Are you ready to witness what happens next? Al Aqsa is the first Qibla, prayer direction, of Islam. It is regarded by Muslims as one of the three sacred Mosques, and its surroundings Bayt al Maqdis has been blessed by Allah in the Quran. The hadith talk of the blessed one who prays in all three of the Masjids, something alhamdulillah I have managed to do. But this mosque, its precincts and the entirety of Palestine is today under threat by a foreign settler force that is hellbent on eradicating its history. My guest today argues that there is an urgency now in time to save this mosque, as the Zionist project comes to fruition and he calls for an intellectual reawakening of the ummah. Dr. Khalid El-Awaisi is from Hebron, Al Khalil in Palestine. He a lecturer of the pioneering field of Islamic jerusalem Studies. Today is Thursday the 12th of Muharram, 1446 Hijrah. Yesterday I read a very disturbing news coming from Oman that a masjid in Oman was being bombed and took the lives of nine people. Apparently according to the news report, Daesh or IS claimed responsibility for the bombing and the masjid is said to belong to a Shia community in Oman and they were observing the mourning of the day of Ashura when the bombing happened. Now this is very sad because this is against the teaching of Islam. We need to look beyond sectarian divisions within the Islamic Ummah. Rasul salallahu alayhi wa sallam said,من صلى صلاتنا واستقبل قبلتنا وأكل ذبيحتنا فذلك المسلم“Those who pray our prayers and face our Qibla and eat from our slaughter, that is a Muslim that is under the protection of Allah and under the protection of Rasul salallahu alayhi wa sallam.”So this barbaric act of killing innocent lives, taking innocent lives just because of sectarian differences is haram. This is a great sin.Now are Shia Muslims? The answer according to this hadith is absolutely clear. Yes they are Muslims. We differ in certain things with them. I'm a Sunni, I'm a Shafi'i Sunni in terms of my theology. I grew up and learning Sunni creed from the Ash'ari school of Aqeedah, Shafi'i school of law and Ghazali school of Tasawwuf.Yet it doesn't mean that I would call our Shi'i brothers and sisters Kafir. We disagree. I disagree strongly with many of their teachings, with the way they view the Sahaba but that doesn't make them Kafir. That doesn't exclude them from the fold of Islam. Rasul salallahu alayhi wa sallam gave us this clear criteria. They pray like we pray. Look at the way our Shia brothers and sisters pray. Yes there may be some minor differences and those minor differences fall within Fiqh differences but by and large it's the same prayers and they face the same Qibla. It's not like they face some other places. It's not like they face Karbala in prayers. They face Masjid al-Haram. They face the Kaaba like you and I, like the rest of the Ummah and they eat from our slaughter. That makes them a Muslim. That makes them fall under the protection of Allah and the protection of Rasulullah salallahu alayhi wa sallam.IS you did this. You're going to answer before Allah and Rasul salallahu alayhi wa sallam in Yawm al-Qiyamah. So we have to rise beyond these petty differences. We can disagree but there are matters bigger concern, matters of bigger concerns to the Ummah that we will need to unite. For instance the matter of Palestine. The matter of Palestine we are one Ummah and we see realistically in the world today politically the only countries that are taking real actions beyond words, beyond rhetoric are the Shi'i countries. We see what the Houthi in Yemen are doing and the impact they have on the economy of Israel. Now just because they do that doesn't mean that we condone, we acknowledge their teachings as the correct teaching. We can defer yet they are still Muslims. We can strongly disagree yet they are still Muslims. We believe that they are Muslims but their teachings in some matters within Islam is wrong. We can sit down and discuss academically with regards to this matter but it should never lead to bloodshed. It should never lead to death.May Allah have mercy upon those who were killed at this Masjid in Oman. My condolences to the people of Oman. Oman is a peaceful country. People of Oman are beautiful souls, very peaceful, peace loving people. May Allah protect all of you and Allah bless Oman and her people. May Allah shower mercy upon those souls that have departed and may Allah destroy IS, may Allah destroy Daesh. Get full access to Be Quranic at bequranic.substack.com/subscribe

The Zamzam of Spiritual Knowledge. Excerpts from the teachings of Shaykh Mohamed Faouzi al-Karkari (qs).
Hamas said that ‘We declare next Friday, ‘The Friday of the Al-Aqsa Flood,' as a day of general mobilization in our Arab and Islamic world and among the free people of the world. It is a day to rally support, offer aid, and participate actively. It is a day to expose the crimes of the occupation, isolate it, and foil all its aggressive schemes. It is a day to demonstrate our love for Palestine, Jerusalem, and Al-Aqsa. It is a day for sacrifice, heroism, and dedication, and to earn the honor of defending the first Qibla of Muslims, the third holiest mosque, and the ascension of the trusted Messenger.' Well now, it looks like a whole lot of Democrats will be calling out sick this Friday. On this episode of the NTEB Prophecy News Podcast, the ‘Day of Jihad' is being eagerly awaited here in America by Democrats, Liberals, and students on college campuses all across the country if the events of this past week are any indicator. It has been truly shocking to watch the outpouring of support for Hamas terrorists who rape teenagers, kill babies, kidnap senior citizens, while lining up Jews against the wall and mowing them down with machine gun fire. Remember that series we did on spiritual warfare where we talked about the spirit of Antichrist? No better manifestation of that than simply watching Hamas operate. They are the Devil incarnate. On this episode, we show you the events as they will be unfolding on this ‘Day Of Jihad', and how things just might wind up in a WWIII in the Middle East.

The Salah Prayer has six pre-conditions that Muslims must follow for their prayer to be valid unless one has a valid excuse. The first pre-condition is that one must be in a state of spiritual purity by cleansing themself with ghusl (washing the whole body) or wudu (ablution). If water is unavailable, one can perform Tayammum instead (dry ablution using purified sand, stone, or mud). The second pre-condition is the timing of the prayer—one must pray during its set time. The third pre-condition is that a Muslim must cover his awrah where his skin is not shown. One's cloth cannot be transparent or skin-tight. For men, the awrah is their body parts from their navel to their knees. Women's awrah includes their whole body except their face and hands. The fourth pre-condition is to purify oneself from the impurity of one's physical body, clothes, and where one is praying. The fifth condition is that a Muslim must face the direction of Qibla (towards Mecca) when praying. The sixth pre-condition is that one must set an intention in their heart for the prayer they are about to perform—they must know which prayer they are praying.

Amongst the many gifts our Creator has bestowed upon us, the Salat al Istikhara (The Istikhara Prayer) stands among them. The word Istikhara originates from the Arabic root word of Khair, which is an umbrella word connotating all that is good. Istikhara stems from a verb pattern that means ‘to seek that which is good' The term Istikhara means ‘to look for Allah's Guidance, Wisdom, Support, Supervision, Consultation, Goodness, and Blessings.'How to Do Istikhara for Marriage: When a Muslim is confused about how to resolve a matter, he can ask for Allah, the Glorious, to Aid him by reciting the Istikhara prayer. Salat al Istikhara is a powerful tool that God the Most-Merciful, the Compassionate, has given his slaves so that they can seek His Guidance and Wisdom in all matters of life--whether big or small. For instance, one can pray the Istikhara prayer to seek God's advice about whether they should relocate for school or work, if they should accept a marriage proposal, or if they should buy a particular car or house. The Istikhara Prayer is a Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, that he recommended and performed. Several myths and misconceptions surround the Istikhara Prayer (Salat al Istikhara in Arabic) and many do not have a full understanding of the prayer. How to Pray Istikhara Step By Step: The prayer is performed simply. Whenever one faces a decision, he or she first would need to do their part by researching possible solutions to their quandary. They should put their intellect and rationale to work, assessing the circumstances to their best of ability. One then should seek sound counsel from others that are knowledgeable, wise, trustworthy, and genuine, and who are worthy of consultation on the very issue. One should use his or her God-given intellect to weigh all available options, reflecting and pondering all gathered research and advice to determine the best possible outcome. How to Perform Istikhara: Once one determines how to move forward on the issue, he would then pray 2-units (Rakat) of voluntary prayer, which should not be counted as part of the five obligatory prayers of the day. It's important to note, one should not pray Istikhara until he has chosen the course of action he plans to take regarding the matter. The prayer he performs would be similar to any other traditional prayer. One must make wudu (ablution) in a clean, pure state, dressed appropriately and facing the Qibla (in the direction of Kabah, God's House here on Earth, in modern-day Saudi Arabia). It is always recommended to seek God's Forgiveness and Mercy at the beginning of the prayer, especially if you consistently commit sins.BUY ISLAMIC BOOKS by The Sincere Seeker Collection for Adults & Children on AMAZON:https://www.amazon.com/thesincereseekerFOLLOW The Sincere Seeker on social media to stay up to date
