In this episode of the Buckeye Weekly Podcast, hosts Tony Gerdeman and Tom Orr offer up a full spring preview of the Ohio State quarterbacks by discussing a number of topics, including who all is back, a storyline to watch, a number to know, a question wanting an answer, a player to watch for, who is trending up or down, the best-case scenario leaving spring, an expectation, and whatever else might be left over.
What is Aaron Rodgers about to say? What will happen with Daniel Jones? Some dominoes are going to fall soon.
Carnell Tate's draft stock has fallen a bit and the Browns have added a lineman already, is it worth drafting another one? Lima and Daryl sift through the possibilities and what position groups make the most sense to bolster heading in the 2026 season.
Kevin Clark sits down with Trevor Sikkema, Lead NFL Draft Analyst for Pro Football Focus, for a deep dive into the future of the league. They break down this year's NFL Draft class and explore how the college football transfer portal has dramatically increased the overall depth of talent available to teams. With more player movement than ever, franchises are seeing more experienced, pro-ready prospects enter the draft pool. They also examine how the 2026 linebacker class could shape the NFL for the next decade — including why Sonny Styles may be the best overall player in the 2026 Draft. The conversation highlights a clear shift in today's game: speed is taking precedence over traditional size and strength, redefining what teams value at nearly every position. Plus, they predict when the wide receiver run could begin in this year's draft and which teams may trigger the domino effect. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
What Makes Pastoral Ministry a Question Mark after Year 10? 1. Ministry has become our occupation not our calling. 2. Our leadership and methods sometimes grow stagnant. 3. We focus too much of on energy on internal church matters. 4. We believe we have earned the right to make most of the decisions. 5. We fail to be honest about the present condition of the church. 6. We only focus on problem people - not those who want to grow Ask some hard questions: 1. Am I still growing as a Christian leader? 2. Do I have a dream/vision I can share? 3. Am I developing others? 4. Do others have a voice?

TLDR: Recently, Gao et al trained transformers with sparse weights, and introduced a pruning algorithm to extract circuits that explain performance on narrow tasks. I replicate their main results and present evidence suggesting that these circuits are unfaithful to the model's “true computations”. This work was done as part of the Anthropic Fellows Program under the mentorship of Nick Turner and Jeff Wu. Introduction Recently, Gao et al (2025) proposed an exciting approach to training models that are interpretable by design. They train transformers where only a small fraction of their weights are nonzero, and find that pruning these sparse models on narrow tasks yields interpretable circuits. Their key claim is that these weight-sparse models are more interpretable than ordinary dense ones, with smaller task-specific circuits. Below, I reproduce the primary evidence for these claims: training weight-sparse models does tend to produce smaller circuits at a given task loss than dense models, and the circuits also look interpretable. However, there are reasons to worry that these results don't imply that we're capturing the model's full computation. For example, previous work [1, 2] found that similar masking techniques can achieve good performance on vision tasks even when applied to a [...] ---Outline:(00:36) Introduction(03:03) Tasks(03:16) Task 1: Pronoun Matching(03:47) Task 2: Simplified IOI(04:28) Task 3: Question Marks(05:10) Results(05:20) Producing Sparse Interpretable Circuits(05:25) Zero ablation yields smaller circuits than mean ablation(06:01) Weight-sparse models usually have smaller circuits(06:37) Weight-sparse circuits look interpretable(09:06) Scrutinizing Circuit Faithfulness(09:11) Pruning achieves low task loss on a nonsense task(10:24) Important attention patterns can be absent in the pruned model(11:26) Nodes can play different roles in the pruned model(14:15) Pruned circuits may not generalize like the base model(16:16) Conclusion(18:09) Appendix A: Training and Pruning Details(20:17) Appendix B: Walkthrough of pronouns and questions circuits(22:48) Appendix C: The Role of Layernorm The original text contained 6 footnotes which were omitted from this narration. --- First published: February 9th, 2026 Source: https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/sHpZZnRDLg7ccX9aF/weight-sparse-circuits-may-be-interpretable-yet-unfaithful --- Narrated by TYPE III AUDIO. ---Images from the article:

They pivot to the NFL, where Bad Bunny's halftime show broke records despite reported pushback from some owners, and talk about the Patriots taking heat for their Super Bowl loss while noting Drake Maye still had a strong season. The hour also includes news of Adam Gase joining Mike McDaniel with the Chargers and wraps with Hollywood's Headlines featuring Alix Earle/Tom Brady rumors, college sports eligibility chaos, and Jordon Hudson's headline-grabbing shirt at a UNC game.

North Carolina's 32 point lead turned into a near nail biting finish as the Heels allowed Syracuse to battle back and cut the margin to just six points with 42 seconds remaining. What started as an AI autocorrect gaff has turned into a running joke — and now, maybe something more. Brad and Ryan lean into the accidental nickname Jarace “Karate” Walker while breaking down the very real rise of Jarace Walker after an incredibly rough start to the season. Once written off by much of Pacers Nation, Jarace has quietly emerged from the ashes with a stretch of play that's changing the conversation. Over the last month, the numbers — and the film — are finally lining up. The three-point shooting looks real, the turnovers are down, and his defensive impact is starting to pop, highlighted by his ninja-like hands (hence “Karate”) and a five-steal performance against Atlanta. Is this a real breakthrough? A sign of long-term growth? Maybe it's just the beginning of what the Pacers hoped they were getting all along. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Fox Sports' Joel Klatt joins The Next Round for a must-watch breakdown of the latest College Football Playoff drama and the biggest questions facing the sport. We start with Indiana's dominant Rose Bowl win over Alabama, as Joel weighs in on whether the Hoosiers are one of the best college football teams we've ever seen and how Curt Cignetti has pulled it off at a non–blue blood program like Indiana. From the Alabama side, we dig into the fallout for the Crimson Tide: Should Alabama fans be concerned about the lack of a run game under Kalen DeBoer? And what's next for Ty Simpson — should he return to Alabama or make the jump to the NFL? The conversation then turns to the bigger picture as Joel explains what needs to change with the College Football Playoff format, especially with teams holding first-round byes going just 1–7 since the move to a 12-team playoff. Is the structure broken, and how can it be fixed? Plus, we preview another massive postseason storyline: Ole Miss vs. Miami — who has the advantage and why? And Joel addresses the buzz around Lane Kiffin prohibiting assistant coaches from finishing the season at Ole Miss before joining him at LSU, adding even more intrigue to the coaching carousel. The greatest weapon against your identity isn't a blatant lie—it's a subtle suggestion. The enemy doesn't come up to you and say, "You aren't God's child." Instead, he whispers, "If you are God's child... then why is this happening?"In this episode of Shifts and Ladders, we look at the pattern in Matthew Chapters 3 and 4 to uncover how the enemy attempts to shift you from Sonship to Survival. We analyze the Baptism of Jesus vs. the Temptation in the Wilderness to see exactly how the enemy removed the word "Beloved" and added the condition "If".If you are working 80 hours a week turning "stones into bread" just to prove you are successful, you are falling into a trap. It is time to stop entertaining the "question mark" and stand on God's "period."In this video, we cover:(0:00) The "Subtle Suggestion": How the enemy attacks your identity(1:20) Matthew 3: Why God established "Beloved" (Identity) before "Ministry" (Productivity)(3:30) Matthew 4: The Test immediately follows the Revelation(5:00) The Trap: How the enemy strips "Beloved" to make your identity "Conditionary"(6:50) Stones to Bread: The danger of using your gift to prove your worth(8:40) The Solution: Integration and the power of "It Is Written"(9:15) Question Marks vs. Periods: Living off the Word(10:00) The Challenge: Be a Thermostat and set the temperature this weekQuotes from the episode:"God's pleasure is anchored in Jesus' identity, not his productivity.""The enemy wants you to move from sonship to survival... survival is always conditionary.""When you try to prove your identity, you actually lose your authority.""A suggestion always has a question mark, but a declaration always ends in a period."#Identity #SpiritualWarfare #Matthew4 #ChristianLeadership #RionRobinson #ShiftsAndLadders #BeDoHave
Kent Beck: You're Ignoring Optionality… and Paying for ItIn this episode of Maintainable, Robby speaks with Kent Beck, a foundational voice in modern software development and author of Tidy First?. Kent joins from California to explore why optionality is a central, often underestimated dimension of maintainable software.Kent begins by describing the tension between features and future flexibility. Shipping new capabilities is easy to measure. Creating options for what comes next is not. That imbalance is where maintainability either flourishes or collapses. Senior developers in particular must learn to navigate this tension because they have lived through the consequences when no one does. They reflect on how cost models have shifted across the last five decades. Early in Kent's career, computers were expensive and programmers were cheap. Today the balance often flips depending on scale. At massive scale, electricity and compute time become meaningful costs again. That variability shapes whether teams optimize for hardware efficiency or developer efficiency.Episode Highlights[00:00:46] The Two Forms of Software ValueKent explains why software value comes from both current features and the options you preserve for future work. He describes optionality as the invisible half of maintainability.[00:03:35] When Computers Become “Expensive” AgainRobby and Kent revisit the shift from hardware-optimized development to developer-optimized development and how large-scale systems have reintroduced compute cost pressures.[00:07:25] Why the Question Mark in Tidy First?Kent shares why tidying is always a judgment call and why he put a question mark in the title.[00:10:14] The Real Cost of Speculative FlexibilityThey discuss why adding configurability too early creates waste and why waiting until just before you need it increases value.[00:13:46] Making Hard Changes EasyKent outlines his guiding idea. When you face a difficult change, make the change easy first, then make the easy change.[00:17:08] The Feature SawKent explains his features versus options graph and how teams repeatedly burn optionality until they hit zero. At that point, forward movement becomes painful.[00:19:37] Why 100 Percent Utilization Is a TrapKent discusses how queuing theory shows that full utilization pushes wait times toward infinity. Overcommitted teams have no room for design work.[00:22:44] Split Teams Do Not Solve the ProblemRobby talks about consulting scenarios where “tidy teams” and “feature teams” are separated. Kent argues that this splits incentives and prevents optionality from being sustained.[00:26:15] Structure and Behavior Should Not Ship TogetherKent describes why feature changes are irreversible, structure changes are reversible, and why combining them increases risk for everyone.[00:30:37] Tidying Reveals IntentWhile cleaning up structure, developers often uncover logic flaws or misunderstandings that were previously hidden.[00:32:00] When Teams Discourage TestingKent shares stories about environments where developers were punished for refactoring or writing tests. He explains why building career options is essential in those situations.[00:37:57] Why Tidying Is an Ethical ObligationKent reframes optionality as a moral responsibility. No one should make work harder for the next person who touches the code.[00:41:33] Succession and SlicingKent describes how nearly every structural change can be broken into small, safe steps, even when the change first appears atomic.[00:47:00] A Small Habit to Start TodayKent suggests adding a blank line to separate conceptual chunks in long functions. It is a small step that improves clarity immediately.Resources MentionedTidy First? by Kent BeckKent Beck on SubstackThe Timeless Way of Building by Christopher AlexanderThanks to Our Sponsor!Turn hours of debugging into just minutes!
