It is time for the inter-school event of the century, it is time for the Contest of Champions!!! Are you excited? Are you ready for some fun? Are you ready for a massive invasion from space? Are you? ARE YOU!!!!! Location, location, location! Waterside property with plenty of rooms, living spaces, and hidden missel silos. If you are going to have a school, you need to make it look good. And you need money. And style. OK, look. Just because you have money, you should not always spend it. I mean....OMG! Am I right. Why would you build an EGG for your school. No style. No beauty. That is the most disturbing thing I have seen in this comic. Period. I mean, even the moloids, who have no sense for beauty or aesthetics are horrified. AND WHY IS BENTLEY SITTING ON A TOILET! I think that we have gotten off topic, or if we had a topic, it has since run away in a panic. But we should focus on the children. They are our future. And we are sending them out to fight to the death. And speaking of death, what's the deal with all of the blood in the water. The bloody future....that is all. We also have some merchandise over at Redbubble. We have a couple of nifty shirts for sale. https://www.redbubble.com/people/jeffrickpresent/?asc=u Check out our website at: https://jeffandrickpresent.wordpress.com/2025/05/01/infinity-the-hunt-1-the-hunt/ You can also subscribe and listen to us on YouTube! We got 7 months before Halloween hits but in this Personalities themed week, we owed it to you all to talk about one of the zaniest slasher franchises: SLEEPAWAY CAMP! TOPICS INCLUDE: *Which installment is uniformely the best from top to bottom *Why, much like the other franchises it rips off, it's become a bigger than life cult film *And why it deserved more installments than it ultimately earned! The plan was for the Fantastic Four to go on a short little trip. That was all. Just a short trip and then boom....back to the old nine to five grind. But we ran into a little problem, didn't we. Well, hi there! Welcome to our wonderful treaty on pools, tubs, water holes, and puddles. Hopefully you will learn something. If you do not, please do not sue us. The "Great Bath" at the site of Mohenjo-Daro in modern-day Pakistan was most likely the first swimming pool, dug during the 3rd millennium BC. This pool is 12 by 7 metres (39 by 23 feet), is lined with bricks, and was covered with a tar-based sealant. Swimming pools became popular in Britain in the mid-19th century. As early as 1837, six indoor pools with diving boards existed in London, England. The Maidstone Swimming Club in Maidstone, Kent is believed to be the oldest surviving swimming club in Britain. It was formed in 1844, in response to concerns over drownings in the River Medway, especially since would-be rescuers would often drown because they themselves could not swim to safety. he modern Olympic Games started in 1896 and included swimming races, after which the popularity of swimming pools began to spread. In the US, the Racquet Club of Philadelphia clubhouse (1907) boasts one of the world's first modern above-ground swimming pools. The first swimming pool to go to sea on an ocean liner was installed on the White Star Line's Adriatic in 1906. he Amateur Swimming Association was founded in 1869 in England, and the Oxford Swimming Club in 1909. The presence of indoor baths in the cobbled area of Merton Street might have persuaded the less hardy of the aquatic brigade to join. So, bathers gradually became swimmers, and bathing pools became swimming pools. According to the Guinness World Records, the largest swimming pool in the world is San Alfonso del Mar Seawater pool in Algarrobo, Chile. It is 1,013 m (3,323 ft) long and has an area of 8 ha (20 acres). At its deepest, it is 3.5 m (11 ft) deep. It was completed in December 2006. In 2021, Deep Dive Dubai, located in Dubai, UAE, was certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's deepest swimming pool reaching 60 metres (200 ft). The Y-40 swimming pool at the Hotel Terme Millepini in Padua, Italy, previously held the record, 42.15 m (138.3 ft), from 2014 until 2021. The Fleishhacker Pool in San Francisco was the largest heated outdoor swimming pool in the United States. Opened on 23 April 1925, it measured 1,000 by 150 ft (300 by 50 m) and was so large that the lifeguards required kayaks for patrol. It was closed in 1971 due to low patronage. Send us a textWe are a little late this week, but with good reason: Paul Breitbarth and Dr. K Royal were attending the IAPP Global Privacy Summit in Washington D.C. and bring you their report from the Opening General Session of the conference. Things are not looking good for the Ant-astic Four. John Storm is not well in the burning melon. Alex has run away from home. Medusa has brought her son in and is acting odd...which is saying something. I home things don't heat up in this issue. Frist of all, we should give some love to all of the media out there doing the wonderful work that that they do. They are out there every day, taking photos, embarrassing celebrities, taking down anyone with shaky self-esteem. You know who does not take hits to his ego well? Our boy Scott. When he gets even the smallest hit to his ego, or self-esteem, he reacts like someone just kicked his dog...or killed his daughter. And speaking of being on tilt, or not in control of their emotions, we should talk about Mr. John Storm. Here is a guy that is so confused and emotionally unbalanced, that he sets a guy's beard on fire. I mean, who does that. Then he sets fire to the whole town. What a jerk! But, this Kaiju...this dude knows where his Wheaties are at, if you know what I mean. It lives its life and then helps out the fish kids. It just keeps swimming, ya know what I mean! But then Willie Lumpkin has to come in and make everything all awkward. Why you gotta teach a class on birds and bees. Why you have to make it weird. Why did you have to break us? I no longer know what I am talking about. I am just too disgusted. We also have some merchandise over at Redbubble. Fort McHenry sits in Baltimore's harbor and is probably best known as the site where America's National Anthem was penned during the War of 1812. The Battle of Baltimore was fought here with a relentless attack bearing down on the fort from the British. The assault was so harrowing, it's understandable how Francis Scott Key was inspired to write his poem. Today, spirits still linger from that era. Join us for the history and hauntings of Fort McHenry. The Moment in Oddity features Veronica Lake's War Factory Hairstyle and This Month in History features Baby Lindbergh's kidnapping and murder. Many a murder case has been won in court on just circumstantial evidence. This is true of present day cases and it was true back in the 1840s when a man named David Sheely lost his life at the end of a hangman's rope. Many believe he was an innocent man. And perhaps that is why his ghost haunted people for decades after his hanging. Sheely certainly isn't unique. Through the centuries, many wrongly convicted people have been put to death. It's one of the reasons why many people don't support the death penalty. There are many stories of murder victims coming back as spirits to find justice. Is it possible that wrongfully executed people have ghosts that return as well? And what of the truly guilty? Do they not make the transition out of fear? Do their spirits stay as they seek penance? Or were they just so evil, even Hell won't have them? The Black Donnellys were an Irish family looking for a new start across the Atlantic Ocean in the early 1840s. James and Johannah Donnelly had lived in poverty and strife and they hoped that Canada would bring a new start for their little family. So they packed up what little they had, along with their son James, Jr., and migrated to Forest City, Canada from Tipperary, Ireland. They would find a new life in this new world, but they would not gain it in the right way. They would take what was not theirs and this would lead to strife for their family. It would eventually lead to a lot of death as well. And now spirits roam the former Donnelly homestead. We originally featured the Island Hotel and Restaurant in Cedar Key, Florida back on Ep. 36 in 2015. In November 2024, we stayed overnight and did a little investigating and while our experiences were subtle, it does seem that paranormal activity does occur here. The building was originally built in 1859 and used as a general store and it was built to last. The building material that was used was Tabby, which is a mixture of oyster shells, sand and limestone, and the structure has lasted 165 years. The most recent hurricanes to hit the area, particularly Hurricane Helene, only caused slight wind damage to the structure. The building has passed through the hands of many owners, some of whom may still remain in the afterlife. People claim there are as many as thirteen ghosts here. The rest of Cedar Key did not fair well during Hurricane Helene, but we still enjoyed the surroundings of what seems to be a very haunted island. Join us for the history and hauntings of the Island Hotel and Cedar Key! The Moment in Oddity features Frog Milk and This Month in History features Puerto Rico discovered by Christopher Columbus.
